  Sometimes I work with frequently-dropping wifi connections. I can either reconnect manually or wait some time (varies from few seconds to few minutes) before windows attempts to reconnect. Is there a simple way to trigger reconnect immediately after the connection was dropped? Bonus question: In this particular case I'd blame hardware, but how can I diagnose the reason of dropping connection in general?

  Is it possible programmatically to discover the exported names (globals, entry points, whatever) in a Windows DLL file without implementing a parser for the binary executable file format itself? I know there are tools to do this (though no open source ones I've found), but I'm curious whether there is a Windows API to accomplish the same thing or whether such tools operate merely by examining the binary file directly. I suspect there is an API for .NET libraries: if that's the case then is there a similar one for native DLLs? Edit: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1128150 is basically an exact duplicate. The answer there is roughly "there is no API, but you can hack it using LoadLibraryEx() and navigating a few resulting data structures". Edit: I was able to use the accepted answer at http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1128150 to create a quick DLL dumper with Python and ctypes that works.

  I want to write a simple program which shows my internet activity over a period of time (which site I visited, how many times and so on). I mostly use Google Chrome browser. I found out Chrome stores browser history at this location - C:\Documents and Settings\\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default (please correct me if I'm wrong). How can I open the history files? They don't have any file extension. I could not open using notepad, SQLite browser. How do I access this data programmatically? I want to know which file format it is and how to read it using a programming language like C#.

  I have a custom UIViewController and a corresponding view in a nib file. The view is added to the UIWindow directly. [window addSubview:customViewController.view]; Sizes of the window and the view are default (480x320 and 460x320 correspondingly). When I create CustomViewController inside the nib file and check "Resize View From NIB" in IB Attributes tab everything works just fine. But when I create CustomViewController programmmatically with initWithNibName message the view is not positioned on the window correctly. There is an empty stripe at the bottom. Its height is 20px. I see it's because of status bar offset. IB handles that with "Resize View From NIB". How to emulate that programmatically?

• Android: Programmatically move between images in Gallery widget

  I'd like to programmatically move between images in the Gallery widget, with animation. I can change the currently displaying image using the setSelection(int position) method, however that does not animate. Then there's setSelection(int position, bool animate) but the extra boolean on the end there doesn't appear to do anything. In the source of Gallery it appears that it can handle DPAD key-presses, so a work-around I thought of was to fake the key-presses. Eg. dispatchKeyEvent(new KeyEvent(KeyEvent.ACTION_DOWN, KeyEvent.KEYCODE_DPAD_LEFT)) However I can't get this working for some reason. Anyone tried this? I notice three of the widget's methods I'd love to use moveNext(), movePrevious() and scrollToChild() are all private and unusable. Does anyone know how I might be able to do this?

  The situation: I have a bunch of Terms in the Term Store and a list that uses them. A lot of the terms have not been used yet, and are not available yet in the TaxonomyHiddenList. If they are not there yet they don't have an ID, and I can not add them to a list item. There is a method GetWSSIdOfTerm on Microsoft.SharePoint.Taxonomy.TaxonomyField that's supposed to return the ID of a term for a specific site. This gives back IDs if the term has already been used and is present in the TaxonomyHiddenList, but if it's not then 0 is returned. Is there any way to programmatically add terms to the TaxonomyHiddenList or force it happening?

  Try as I might, I cannot get this to work. Here is my latest attempt. Can someone clue me in as to why this does not work? In a method which is called by my view controller's init method: UIImage *image = [UIImage imageNamed: @"window22.png"]; UITabBarItem *item = [[UITabBarItem alloc] initWithTitle: @"Some Title" image: image tag: 0]; self.tabBarItem = item; All it does is put a big square where the image should be. The title in the tab bar remains the same as the view controller's title. Everything is being instantiated programmatically here, including the tab bar controller.

I have tried retrieving the team discussion items from an existing site as SPListItem. Although I could find the Team Discussion list, but I could not red the retrieved items by assigning them as SPListItems. Moreover, team discussion looked like it has a lot of fields that requires a lot of other information to be available e.g. users, threads, topics, etc. It certainly looks different than other ordinary lists. Would a simple copying of all the fields be sufficient, or there is more to it? Thanks.

  Hi, I have a legacy 32-bit application written in Borland's C++ Builder. I need to show specific pages from within a HtmlHelp file programmatically. Until now I've been doing this via HtmlHelp.ocx, but this does not work on x64 versions of Windows Vista / Windows7 as described in this thread. I can't compile the application as 64-bit executable. Therefore the only workaround I have found so far is to create a 32-bit component implementing a COM object which loads and calls into the 32-bit DLL, and exposes the 32-bit DLL interface as a COM interface. That sounds far too complicated just to display a chml file with a specific topic. There must be something else. But what is it?

  I am developing an application that relies heavily on sending SMS programmatically. I followed the examples released after 1.6 that demonstrate how to use an abstract class to implement sending for 1.5 and 1.6+. I started getting complaints from some users about how it appears as though SMS should be sent but they are in fact not. It took be a while to realize what was going on, the one 1.5 test device I have is GSM. Of course it must be because the Sprint Hero is CDMA (running 1.5). Regardless of message size I use the general form of: divideMessage() and sendMultipartTextMessage(destinationAddress, null, parts, null, null) How can I successfully send an SMS in this case? Can I call sendTextMessage() a number of times? Also, I tried unsuccessfully to find the source for the Hero's Messenger/Conversations package or equivalent, if anyone knows where to find that that would be great.

  I am using a cron to import inventory changes nightly. When I try to change a product's information (price, etc) I get the following error: Column not found: 1054 Unknown column 'e.display_price_group_0' in 'field list' I can fix this by clicking "Rebuild Flat Catalog Product" in the Cache Management panel. I setup a cron to do this programmatically using the following code: Mage :: getResourceModel( 'catalog/product_flat_indexer' ) -> rebuild(); I don't get any errors when I run the script, but the "Column not found" error persists. Does anyone know how I can rebuild the flat catalog other than through the admin interface?

  We have a WPF application deployed using ClickOnce which checks for and performs updates programmatically on application startup. This generally behaves perfectly except for the case where the user chooses "No" to our "Do you wish to update?" prompt. In this case, the next time the user launches the application (consistently) the ClickOnce framework's "Update Available" dialog launches with the option to update or skip. This doesn't cause a technical problem but will be confusing to the user to potentially see two completely differently styled dialogs. (If the user chooses Skip to the ClickOnce dialog then the application then launches and renders our own "Update Available" dialog). Any ideas why the ClickOnce framework dialog is showing in this case? Thanks.

  Hi, I'm writing a file compressor utility in C++ that I want support for PCM WAV files, however I want to keep it in PCM encoding and just convert it to a lower sample rate and change it from stereo to mono if applicable to yield a lower file size. I understand the WAV file header, however I have no experience or knowledge of the actual sound data works. So my question is, would it be relatively easy to programmatically manipulate the "data" sub-chunk in a WAV file to convert it to another sample rate and change the channel number, or would I be much better off using an existing library for it?   I've been using OpenGL ES 1.1 on the iPhone for 10 months, and in that time there is one seemingly simple task I have been unable to do: programmatically fade a textured object. To keep it simple: how can I alpha fade, under code control, a simple 2D triangle that has a texture (with alpha) applied to it. I would like to fade it in/out while it is over a scene, not a simple colored background. So far the only technique I have to do this is to create a texture with multiple pre-faded copies of the texture on it. (Yuck) As an example, I am unable to do this using Apple's GLSprite sample code as a starting point. It already textures a quad with a texture that has its own alpha. I would like to fade that object in and out.

  I've seen a bunch of similar questions to this, but nothing seems to be completely what I'm looking for. Do forgive me if I have missed the solution answered in another question, though! Right. I have a view. 160 pixels both tall and wide. I know that this view is going to be used as a subview, and I know that it always needs to be centered about both axis in whatever situation it's used. If defining the view programmatically, how can I be sure that it is always perfectly centered, horizontally and vertically, relative to its superview?
