  • .htaccess rewrite all queries to static page

    - by user127219
I have an account where hundreds of inbound links to their calender are showing up as 404 (they moved their site to a new platform). I would like to make a wildcard redirection of all URLs with a query to their old event calender to land on a new static page, and do the same for their webstore queries. I've tried several variations, but can't seem to get it to work. CASE 1: I need to redirect URLs like these (note the difference between "showDay" and "showWeek"): apps/calendar/showWeek?calID=5107976&year=2011&month=7&day=10 apps/calendar/showDay?calID=5107976&year=2011&month=9&day=10 To: http://domain.com/events/ CASE 2: And also URLs like these: apps/webstore/products/show/1927074 TO: http://subdomain.domain.com/ I can't seem to get the syntax right to take all of the URLS and redirect them. I'm looking for the equivalent of a wildcard like "apps/calendar/*" would give you at a command line. Any help is appreciated!

  • Using nginx to rewrite urls inside outgoing responses

    - by Kev
We have a customer with a site running on Apache. Recently the site has been seeing increased load and as a stop gap we want to shift all the static content on the site to a cookieless domains, e.g. http://static.thedomain.com. The application is not well understood. So to give the developers time to amend the code to point their links to the static content server (http://static.thedomain.com) I thought about proxying the site through nginx and rewriting the outgoing responses such that links to /images/... are rewritten as http://static.thedomain.com/images/.... So for example, in the response from Apache to nginx there is a blob of Headers + HTML. In the HTML returned from Apache we have <img> tags that look like: <img src="/images/someimage.png" /> I want to transform this to: <img src="http://static.thedomain.com/images/someimage.png" /> So that the browser upon receiving the HTML page then requests the images directly from the static content server. Is this possible with nginx (or HAProxy)? I have had a cursory glance through the docs but nothing jumped out at me except rewriting inbound urls.

  • .htaccess rewrite issue

    - by Jessica
Below is my .htaccess file for my website on shared hosting - I'm attempting to send all requests to index.php with parameter 'q' where I wish to parse data etc... unless it's an existing file or directory. So my issue, if I attempt to browse to an actual directory expecting to get an unauthorized notice (options -Indexes) it sends me to my index.php and I also noticed that print_r($_GET) it gives me this: Array ( [q] => 403.shtml ) AddDefaultCharset UTF-8 Options -Indexes +FollowSymLinks <IfModule mod_rewrite.c> RewriteEngine On RewriteBase / RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^$ RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^www\. [NC] RewriteCond %{HTTPS}s ^on(s)| RewriteRule ^ http%1://www.%{HTTP_HOST}%{REQUEST_URI} [R=301,L] RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php?q=$1 [L,QSA] </IfModule> Help would be much appreciated if possible :)

  • Apache rewrite - optional parameters?

    - by Mayhem
I'm creating SEO friendly urls for my news page. My links look like this : www.site.com/1234/the-pretty-url-string/ RewriteRule ^([^/])/([^/])/$ /news.php?sid=$1&url=$2 [L] This works great, but I like to have more flexability. I want to be able to accept urls like : www.site.com/1234 www.site.com/1234/ so then I can do some php $GET's and figure out if anything is missing - and 301 to the proper URL of my choice. I would like the &url=$2 to be optional.

  • htaccess rewrite domain/folder to domain/

    - by user1678259
I've been checking all questions previously made here, but can't find a solution. We have a website nearly finished www.example.com/web/ and would like to hide the folder /web/ from the url. So what is shown is: www.example.com/web/* And would like: www.example.com/* If we try with a redirect, the url www.example.com goes to www.example.com/web/. And this is what we don't want. Any help will be very appreciated. Thank you all.

  • How could we rewrite the 'No Evil' license to make it 'free'?

    - by passcod
I did not find the lawyers' SE site, so I thought it best to post here. /* * ...subject to the following conditions: * * The above copyright notice and this permission notice shall be included in all * copies or substantial portions of the Software. * * The Software shall be used for Good, not Evil. * * THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS"... */ This is the 'non-free', Crockford, No-Evil, MIT-style, license. This license is considered non-free because of this phrase: "The Software shall be used for Good, not Evil." How could we rewrite this to become a 'free' license, while retaining the original spirit of the sentence?

I am struggling with .htaccess rewrite rules. Let's say I have this URL. localhost/site/index.php and I want to rewrite it as this URL localhost/site/tutorial I would use this RewriteRule Options +FollowSymLinks RewriteEngine on RewriteRule ^tutorial/(.*)$ /up/index.php The page works, but the CSS files don't load. Also, if I have a URL like this: index.php?page=home Then I would have to parse through that URL to get 'home' not using $_GET anymore correct??

  • Double request from mod-rewrite

    - by Dave
I've written a module that sets Apache environment variables to be used by mod-rewrite. It hooks into ap_hook_post_read_request() and that works fine, but if mod-rewrite matches a RewriteRule then it makes a second call to my request handler with the rewritten URL. This looks like a new request to me in that the environment variables are no longer set and therefore I have to execute my (expensive) code twice for each hit. What am I doing wrong, or is there a work around for this? Thanks

  • Wordpress pages address rewrite

    - by kemp
UPDATE I tried using the internal wordpress rewrite. What I have to do is an address like this: http://example.com/galleria/artist-name sent to the gallery.php page with a variable containing the artist-name. I used these rules as per Wordpress' documentation: // REWRITE RULES (per gallery) {{{ add_filter('rewrite_rules_array','wp_insertMyRewriteRules'); add_filter('query_vars','wp_insertMyRewriteQueryVars'); add_filter('init','flushRules'); // Remember to flush_rules() when adding rules function flushRules(){ global $wp_rewrite; $wp_rewrite->flush_rules(); } // Adding a new rule function wp_insertMyRewriteRules($rules) { $newrules = array(); $newrules['(galleria)/(.*)$'] = 'index.php?pagename=gallery&galleryname=$matches[2]'; return $newrules + $rules; } // Adding the id var so that WP recognizes it function wp_insertMyRewriteQueryVars($vars) { array_push($vars, 'galleryname'); return $vars; } what's weird now is that on my local wordpress test install, that works fine: the gallery page is called and the galleryname variable is passed. On the real site, on the other hand, the initial URL is accepted (as in it doesn't go into a 404) BUT it changes to http://example.com/gallery (I mean it actually changes in the browser's address bar) and the variable is not defined in gallery.php. Any idea what could possibly cause this different behavior? Alternatively, any other way I couldn't think of which could achieve the same effect described in the first three lines is perfectly fine. Old question What I need to do is rewriting this address: (1) http://localhost/wordpress/fake/text-value to (2) http://localhost/wordpress/gallery?somevar=text-value Notes: the remapping must be transparent: the user always has to see address (1) gallery is a permalink to a wordpress page, not a real address I basically need to rewrite the address first (to modify it) and then feed it back to mod rewrite again (to let wordpress parse it its own way). Problems if I simply do RewriteRule ^fake$ http://localhost/wordpress/gallery [L] it works but the address in the browser changes, which is no good, if I do RewriteRule ^fake$ /wordpress/gallery [L] I get a 404. I tried different flags instead of [L] but to no avail. How can I get this to work? EDIT: full .htaccess # BEGIN WordPress <IfModule mod_rewrite.c> RewriteEngine On RewriteRule ^fake$ /wordpress/gallery [R] RewriteBase /wordpress/ RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule . /wordpress/index.php [L] </IfModule> # END WordPress

  • Apache mod_rewrite redirect with prefix

    - by Marc
I am newbie with Apache's mod_rewrite and I'm having some difficulties getting it to do what I want. In my static directory, I have some javascript files (.js) with 2 kind of filename: xxxx.js which is the standard file name AT_xxxx.js (with prefixed filename) which has been duplicated from previous standard file name but also contains my customizations I would like to parse requests for each standard requested javascript file (xxxx.js) to check if a customized file exists (AT_xxxx.js) including all sub-directories. Then, in this case, use the custom file instead of the standard file (perhaps by internal redirect). I tried to figure this out for hours but something is still wrong. Note: Also, I don't know how to find custom files in sub-directories. DocumentRoot "/data/apps/dev0/custom/my_static" <filesMatch "\\.(js)$"> Options +FollowSymLinks RewriteEngine on RewriteCond %{DOCUMENT_ROOT}/AT_$1.js -f RewriteRule ^(.*[^/])/?$ %{DOCUMENT_ROOT}/AT_$1.js [QSA,L] </filesMatch>

  • redirect landing without changing url

    - by Gerard
I'm working with Apache and Joomla. I would like to have some URIs that land to the same landing page, but avoiding the URL changes. So, for example: examplecom/luggage/delay/iberia examplecom/luggage/delay/aireuropa examplecom/luggage/delay/ryanair Need to point to examplecom/luggage/delay but the address bar must show the different airline companies. I've been messing arround with mod_rewrite with the following codes: 1: RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} /equipaje/problemas-de-equipaje/perdida-equipaje-iberia [NC,OR] RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} /equipaje/problemas-de-equipaje/perdida-equipaje-vueling [NC,OR] RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} /equipaje/problemas-de-equipaje/perdida-equipaje-ryanair [NC,OR] RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} /equipaje/problemas-de-equipaje/perdida-equipaje-aireuropa [NC,OR] RewriteRule ^(.*)$ /equipaje/problemas-de-equipaje/perdida-equipaje [P] 2: RewriteRule ^equipaje/problemas-de-equipaje/perdida-equipaje-iberia equipaje/problemas-de-equipaje/perdida-equipaje [NC,L] RewriteRule ^equipaje/problemas-de-equipaje/perdida-equipaje-vueling equipaje/problemas-de-equipaje/perdida-equipaje [NC,L] RewriteRule ^equipaje/problemas-de-equipaje/perdida-equipaje-ryanair equipaje/problemas-de-equipaje/perdida-equipaje [NC,L] RewriteRule ^equipaje/problemas-de-equipaje/perdida-equipaje-aireuropa equipaje/problemas-de-equipaje/perdida-equipaje [NC,L] The idea is to have different urls for AdWords but then I'll avoid the indexing of that company landpages to avoid replicated content. I've been searching for several examples and trying to understand how the module works, but until now I haven't acomplished with that... Is it possible to do that with mod_rewrite? Many thanks!

  • RewriteRules targeting a directory result in a gratuitous redirect [closed]

    - by MapDot
I have a standard CMS-like RewriteRule set up in my .htaccess: RewriteRule ^(.+)$ index.php?slug=$1 Let's say I have a directory called "foo" in the root directory. For some reason, if you hit the page it causes a redirect: http://www.mysite.com/foo -- http://www.mysite.com/foo?slug=foo Removing the directory fixes the problem, but unfortunately, it's not an option. Does anyone know of a workaround?

  • Cascade rewriting with special characters

    - by Korjavin Ivan
I have this .htaccess RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php All queries send to index.php. In my site, I have this link: http://site/search/?v[1]=myid it work nice, I think index.php handle it. But now I want to more readable name for this link, something like http://site.si/byid_$myid.html I tried # RewriteRule ^byid_(.*).html$ search/?v\%5B1\%5D=$1 [NC,PS,NE] #escape and urlencode # RewriteRule ^byid_(.*).html$ search/?v%5B1%5D=$1 [NC,PS,NE] #urlencode # RewriteRule ^byid_(.*).html$ search/?v[1]=$1 [NC,PS,NE] #raw RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php Each of this lines kills rewriting, all requests return 500 error. Where is my fault?

  • Creating Custom validation rule and register it

    - by FormsEleven
What is Validation Rule? A validation rule is a piece of code that performs some check ensuring that data meets given constraints. In an enterprise application development environment, often it might require developers to have validation be performed based on some logic at several places across projects. Instead of redundant validation creation, a custom validation rule provides a library with a validation rules that can be registered and used across applications.A custom Validation is encapsulated in a reusable component so that you do not have to write it every time when you need to do input validation. Here is how we can easily implement a custom validation that checks for name of an employee to be "KING" For creating a custom Validation , 1.         Create Generic Application Workspace "CustomValidator" with the project "Model" 2.         Create an BC4J based on emp table. 3.         Create a custom validation rule.In EmpNamerule class, update the validateValue(..) method as follows:  public boolean validateValue(Object value) { EntityImpl emp = (EntityImpl)value; if(emp.getAttribute("Ename").toString().equals("KING")){ return false; } return true; } Create ADF Library: Next step would be to create ADF library. Create ADF library with name lets say testADFLibrary1.jarRegister ADF Library Next step is to register the ADF library , so that its available across the applications. Invoke the menu "Tools -> Preferences"Select the option "Business Components -> Registered Rules" from left paneClick on button "Pick Library". The dialog "Select Library" comes up with  the user library addedAdd new library' that points to the above jarCheck the checkbox "Register" and set the name for the rule Sample UsageHere is how we can easily implement a validation rule that restrict the name of the employee not to be "KING".Create new Application with BC4J based on EMP table.Create new validation under Business rule tab for Ename & select the above custom validation rule.Run the AppModule tester.

  • .htaccess rules to rewrite URLs to front end page?

    - by Dizzley
I am adding a new application to my site at example.com/app. I want views at that URL to always open myapp.php. E.g. example.com/app -> example.com/app/myapp.php and example.com/app/ -> example.com/app/myapp.php What's the correct form of rewrite rules in the .htaccess file? I've got: <IfModule mod_rewrite.c> RewriteEngine On RewriteBase /app/ RewriteRule ^myapp\.php$ - [L] RewriteRule ^myapp.php$ - [L] RewriteRule . - [L] </IfModule> ...based on what the Wordpress front-end does. But all I see at example.com/app is a directory of files. :( (I put those rewrites at the top of my .htaccess file). Any ideas? Update What actually worked: RewriteEngine On RewriteBase / RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} ^/app(/.*)?$ [NC] RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteRule . /app/myapp.php [L] This is good because: Explicit or implicit calls to app/myapp.php work. example.com/app redirects to app/myapp.php example.com/app/ redirects to app/myapp.php example.com/app/subfunction redirects to app/myapp.php All other calls to example.com/otherstuff are untouched. Item 4 is Wordpress-like Front Controller pattern behaviour. I think that rule RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} ^/app.*$ [NC] needs refining as it allows /app-oh-my-goodness etc. through too. Thanks for the answers.
