  • Track IP Messenger's chatting by wireshark

    We have Linux server ( RHEL 5 ), and some client machines ( Windows XP ) in local area network. We using server as proxy server. I am using squid proxy. My windows machines using internet by proxy. Now my client machines using IP messenger for chatting and sharing files with in local network. How can i trace what they are doing or chatting by ip messenger, from my server by wireshark packet sniffer ? If i can't do it by wireshark , What will you give idea about it...

Then I killed vsftpd in container A and started vsftpd in container B and try to access the files using ftp client from another machine. I cannot observe any difference in performance, for that matter it is nowhere nearer to 40mbit/30mbit. Please correct me whether anything wrong here.

  • Internet slowed down because of SQUID Server setup

    Recently I have setup a squid server for our office. I have computer (A) with two ethernet cards, one for internet and the second one for local networkIt has Ubuntu server OS with squid-server and dhcp3-server installedI have added few iptable rules to work like a router and redirect all http traffic to 3128 port This link is my reference. Everything worked fine for 2 days. All of a sudden internet speed went down drastically. When I connected the internet cable to my laptop to test the internet speed it was fine. Again when I reconnected it back to computer A everything was normal. This happened 4 times in a week. Could anyone here please help me why the internet speed is going down and it becomes normal when I reconnect the cable. EDIT: Rebooting the system (computer A) didn't make a difference. I have changed iptables so that http traffic doesn't redirect to 3128 port any further, still no change in the internet speed. I think the problem is not with squid but with something else.     I have RHEL 5 lan server with squid 2.6 stable proxy settings, Under this have some windows xp desktops Now i installed filezilla ftp client in windows xp, for give services to my client's websites But i can't connect ftp servers throw filezilla , I set generic proxy too. ( HTTP/1.1 USING CONNECT method ) I get error message like this, Status: Connecting to (ftp hostname) through proxy Status: Connecting to hostname:port...     Is it possible to write a custom routing logic for HAProxy. I need it in such a way that each application server is allocated a max on 1000 TCP connections then only should the loadbalancer try to route next TCP request to next application server. if not with HAProxy if there any other Load balancer that can do it please let me know. Can persistence be applied to TCP connections. There will no HTTP request. thanks

    i am maintaining few windows xp machines under rhel 5 . i want to set quota for download file size. How to do it ? I mean, in lan usar A's maximum donload file size is 300 MB , and user B's maximum download file size in 200 MB. I want to block downloading when user try to download more than 300 MB file.User should not allow to download 300MB file at a time. Or how to set quota for maximum download per day, is there possible to do it ? How can i do this ?

  • Configuring HP Proliant iLO using hponcfg

    I am configuring an iLO using hponcfg by logging into the machine remotely and running hponcfg with scripts Mod_Directory.xml and then with Mod_Network.xml. I am enabling the DHCP on the device. But after the above scripts are executed successfully and upon rebooting the iLO, it shows the IP address to be 0.0.0.0. What is missing here, so that the iLO gets an IP from DHCP automatically after configuration?

    We have a RHEL 5 Linux server with a few Windows XP clients. We provide web development in PHP. Now my developers as for common local PHP server for keep their projects in same place. Currently the proxy server and Samba sharing are running on the RHEL 5 server. I installed httpd, PHP and MySQL in the server. And I would like to configure virtual hosting too for LAN. What I want do for it? We have 2 Ethernet ports in the server, 1 for local connections and another one for Internet. Internet is provided by an ADSL provider. (192.168.0.0 series for ADSL modem connection and 10.1.1.0 for the LAN connection. If I want to use virtual hosting, do I need to setup local DNS server? My requirements are: setup PHP with MySQL server for local clients with multiple hosting, without disturbing proxy and Samba.

    I have installed Apache 2.4.3(OpenSSL 1.0.0j) on a machine and trying to do SSLCompression off in the ssl.conf file throws an error: Syntax error on line 219 of /etc/httpd/conf.d/ssl.conf: Invalid command 'SSLCompression', perhaps misspelled or defined by a module not included in the server configuration What could be wrong here? If it helps, I installed mod_ssl(2.4). Is that enough or is something more to be done to configure Apache with mod_ssl. I tried phpinfo() in php, and mod_ssl is reflected in the Loaded Modules section.

    consider you are creating a raid5 device with three drives. mdadm --create /dev/md0 --leve=5 --raid-disk=3 /dev/sda1 /dev/sdb1 /dev/sdc1 After issuing this command , I can see the progress of md device creating using cat /proc/mdstat. During the progress ITSELF, can I create a file ssytem partition say ext2 on md0 device like: mkfs.ext2 /dev/md0. Actually I am able to create this and want to confirm whether doing this before 100% completion of md device creation is CORRECT?
