  • Can you restrict entering an invalid entries with jquery ui autocomplete

    when using the jquery ui autocomplete, i would thought there would be an option to force only valid key entry based on the list. Is there anyway to not allow invalid keys so you can only enter valid items in the list? if my list has (csharp, java, python) i can start typing "abcds . ." and it lets me type it in. I want only valid entries to be allowed.

    Hi there I'm lookin for a javascript plugin (for js/any framework) I want to create a textarea that while I type will using a supplied data array, check for predictive matches to the current word im typing and try to suggest a solution. All solutions I've found so far (for jquery) only match one word, then end... I want to write like a sentence or paragraph but have autocomplete ability. Mockup image attached.

    Does anyone know if theres a jquery autocomplete library that works similar to the one here: http://www.thetrainline.com (try and select a station to see what i mean) The one on here is a prototype library. Basically all the ones ive found will only match characters if they appear at the beginning of a string, for example, if i typed 'ear' it would not match the word 'hear'. However this one seems to do that. If anyone has any ideas id be very grateful.

    I'm using jQuery UI Autocomplete plug-in. I'm giving it an URL to make an ajax call and retrieve data. I want to pass optional data parameters but not as part of URL.     Does anyone know how you can turn off autocompletion on a textfield in Django? For example, a form that I generate from my model has an input field for a credit card number. It is bad practice to leave autocompletion on. When making the form by hand, I'd add a autocomplete="off" statement, but how do you do it in Django and still retain the form validation?

    I'm wondering if its possible to configure Intellij's smart insert to suggest hamcrest and mockito dsl idioms when in test classes. Really I'm looking for something like eclipse's 'static favorites', so that when I hit ctrl + space or ctrl +shift +space the idioms are present. In general is it possible to configure autocomplete/smart insert or the suggestions balloon for that matter. I've looked through the settings without much luck but could easily have overlooked something.

    using jquery ui 1.8 trying autocomplete Everything works apart from that the ui-menu isn't positioned under my input element, but rather in the top left corner. Has anyone come across this problem?   • How do I set YUI2 paginator to select a page other than the first page?

    I have a YUI DataTable (YUI 2.8.0r4) with AJAX pagination. Each row in the table links to a details/editing page and I want to link from that details page back to the list page that includes the record from the details page. So I have to a) offset the AJAX data correctly and b) tell YAHOO.widget.Paginator which page to select. According to my reading of the YUI API docs, I have to pass in the initialPage configuration option. I've attempted this, but it doesn't take (the data from AJAX is correctly offset, but the paginator thinks I'm on page 1, so clicking "next" takes me from e.g. page 6 to page 2. What am I not doing (or doing wrong)?     Hi, I want to an autocomplete dropdown control in the ultrawebgrid cell in edit mode, so user can type the data and value is filled in automatically if exists, invalid data should not be permitted. is this possible? I don't want to use webcombo, it is too heavy and I don't need a multi-column dropdown.   • JQuery Autocomplete - format listing and only return a part to the text box

    I'm using the JQuery Autocomplete and it's working just fine. I'm using it to allow someone to search for users out of a database by searching on last name or id number. Right now the drop down list that is created is the resultes of a SQL query and looks something like: $row_rst['lName'] . ', ' . $row_rst['fName'] . " - " . $row_rst['user'] . "|" . $row_rst['id'] which outputs something like: Jones, Henry - hjones Gibbons, Peter - pgibbons When I pick Henry the text box gets Jones, Henry - hjones and the hidden field gets his id. I'd like to format the drop down in columns if possible and only return Jones, Henry to the text box if possible. Are either of those options possible? I'm thinking it has to do with either formatItem(row) or formatResult(row) but I'm not sure and I can't seem to find how to go about this.
