  Hello, I am posting this question as I couldn't find the answer (which is probably very easy, but apparently not for me) anywhere.. I am new to FreshBooks (no only the API) and I want to use it for some automatically generated invoices. I was trying to run some of the source code examples (the PHP and JS libraries in particular): http://developers.freshbooks.com/api/samplecode/ The problem is that I get an error message: "Connection error" Do I need to set up anything else in the example files besides my API and token obtained from the FreshBooks site? P.S.: I am running the examples from a local server but I don't believe that's the problem. Thank you very much in advance!

• Is it possible to programmatically control c# health monitoring without using the web.config file?

  I have developed my own custom provider for the health monitoring; however, I use parameters in the constructor and this is not allowed when using the health monitoring from the web.config file. Does anyone know if I can turn on/off the monitoring and have it watch properly through code (possibly in my global.asax file on application startup). Or, is it possible for me to create my own watcher that will do the same thing as the health monitor. Or, finally - can I just pass variables from the web.config setup (i'm not familiar with the public token part of the provider type declaration). Thanks in advance

  I recently created a Sinatra app with a login form (no basic auth). To prevent access to the app unless the user logged in I put a before block in place before do unless request.path_info == '/login' authenticated? end end I quickly realized that this prevented me from accessing resources in the public directory like my style sheet and logo unless authenticated first as well. To get around that I changed my filter to the following: before do unless request.path_info == '/login' || request.path_info == "/stylesheets/master.css" || request.path_info == "/images/logo.png" authenticated? end end If there were lots of resources I needed to provide exceptions to this way of making them would quickly become overwhelming. What is a better way to code this so I can make exceptions for the public directory or even its specific sub-directories and files like /stylesheets, /images, /images/bg.png but not /secret or /secret/eyes-only.pdf? Or ... Is there a completely different best-practice to handle this situation of locking down everything except the stuff related to logging in (handlers, views, resources)?

• How do I get AuthLogic to skip Password validation?

  I think I'm just missing something obvious. I send a user a perishable token embedded in a link. They click on it, and they come back to the site. I want to log them in automatically (I'm not building a banking app). This seems like this should be simple, but all the examples I've found require a password. How do I skip this completely? I just seem to get UserSession.create to work.

• Setting Up TFS Server outside of a domain

  Hi Im trying to set up TFS 2010 on a machine that is connected to a network, but not on the domain. I am trying to connect this to a SQL Server that is also connected to the network and also not on the domain. When I run through the TFS configuration Wizard and try to connect to the SQL Server, it fails with a message "A connection can not be made...." which looks like it cant see the Server. However when i connect through SQL Management Studio it works when i use SQL Authentication (not Windows Auth). I beleive its failing because TFS needs to connect using Windows Authetication (please correct me if im wrong). I can not add the Windows Authentication for my TFS machine onto the SQL machine becuase they are on different domains (again, pleas correct me if I'm wrong). Does anyone have any suggestions? • Is this a possible way to get Drupal AD SSO?

  I'm currently building a Drupal website in an Active Directory environment. One of the site's requirements is Single Sign On, which to date seems to be impossible because there is no Kerberos SPNEGO/GSSAPI auth module for drupal. I've come up with an idea on how SSO could be attempted on IIS. Since IIS has the option to require Kerberos authentication, we can let IIS handle authentication and use the AUTH_USER server variable to pass the authorized user name to the an 'improved' LDAP_auth module. The LDAP_auth module would then check the user name (but not password since it doesn't know or need to know the password) against LDAP to get the user's roles. (AD groups) Does anyone know if this is possible? If so, does anyone have any ideas on how to implement this?

  Currently, my code would construct the GWT form, which user would submit directly to openId (or any authenticaiton service). Such a method works fine. However, what if I had the gwt page server access the OpenID provider, is there a way/strategy for the server to mediate authentication between its client and the auth provider? I wish to know the answers with respect to GAE as the proxy and, regardless if GAE or Tomcat is the intended proxy, answers wrt Google Accounts OpenID OAuth If so, it would be wonderful if someone could describe the installation strategy.

  If I have a list of regular expressions, is there an easy way to determine that no two of them will both return a match for the same string? That is, the list is valid if and only if for all strings a maximum of one item in the list will match the entire string. It seems like this will be very hard (maybe impossible?) to prove definitively, but I can't seem to find any work on the subject. The reason I ask is that I am working on a tokenizer that accepts regexes, and I would like to ensure only one token at a time can match the head of the input.

  Hello All, First of all I am very thankful to the owner of this website. I have learned and implement various technologies with the help of solutions provided by the readers. I know the question I asked is posted many time in this forum. And I have tired all of the solutions available, but no luck I may case I am trying to read a dat file which is basically a msg/feed file having more than 22000 Characters. Every line may or may not be of same length. My requirement is to convert the file to fixed line length character file. I have a logic that work well using vb script, however its pretty slow. I have checked with For f/ but no luck. The only delimiter I have is EOT, which i can see in Textpad but not in notepad. I have tried with \n, token=. Please help me in resolving the issue.   I have the following lexer rules in my grammar file: LINE : 'F' | 'G'; RULE : (('->' ('F' | 'G')) => 'F' | 'G' ) | LINE LINE + | LINE * (ROTATE + LINE+)+ ; fragment ROTATE : ('/' | '\\'); I'm basically trying to match productions that look like F - F/F\F\F/F. It successfully matches stuff like the above, but I'm guessing there's a problem with my syntactic predicate, since G - G produces a MismatchedTokenException. The predicate serves to disambiguate between single letters on the lhs of '-', which I want to be recognized as the LINE token, and those on the rhs, which should be RULEs. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

• How to use NGramTokenizerFactory or NGramFilterFactory?

  Hi, Recently, I am studying how to store and index using Solr. I want to do facet.prefix search. With whitespace tokenizer, "Where are you" will be splited into three words and indexed. If I search facet.prefix="where are", no result will be returned. I google and found NGramFilterFactory can help me. But when I apply this filter factory, I found the result is "w, h, e, ..., wh, ..", which split the sentence by character, not by token word. I use the parameters maxGramSize and minGramSize, set to 1 and 3. Does the NGramFilterFactory work right? Should I add some other parameters? Is there some other filter factories which can help me?   DatabaseError at /admin/delmarva/event/ no such column: delmarva_event.eventdate I created a class in my models.py file: from django.db import models from django.contrib.auth.models import User class Event(models.Model): eventname = models.CharField(max_length = 100) eventdate = models.DateField() eventtime = models.TimeField() address = models.CharField(max_length = 200) user = models.ForeignKey(User) def __unicode__(self): return self.eventname and now when i try to view my events in my admin or my main_page it gives me the error that there is no eventdate. I tried syncing the db again but nothing changed. Also, I hashtagged eventdate out to see if I get a different error and then it states that delmarva_event.eventtime does not exist as well. I It is weird because it does not have a problem with eventname. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

• Securing a REST API

  I am in the middle of developing a REST API - the first one I ever have. The data being passed through the API is not of such a critical nature that there will be loss of life, economics etc if it was intercepted but at the same time I would like it to be secure. The data being transferred is simply like the data that would be transferred on Twitter or Facebook - not overly confidential but still should be kept private. What is the best way to secure this data? Am I best to use HTTP Basic Auth over SSL or should I be looking into something like OAuth. I have never really used REST much before so bit of a first for me. Thanks

• c++ Array passing dilemma

  Hi, I am writing a function that takes a string, string pointer and an int. The function splits the string based on a set of rules and puts each token into an array. I need to return the array out of the function with the number of elements in the int variable etc. I am stuck as to how I return the array as I can not use auto other wise it is destroyed and I am reluctant to use new as I feel this is patchy. I have other ideas on how to go about this but would like to see how other people go about this first. I could also be wrong and it could be possible to pass an auto out of an array. I can also not use vectors so there goes a copy constructor.

• MVC Forms Authentication with custom database

  I'm trying to get forms authentication working for an mvc site. I have a custom database with a users table, and I would like to do my own password validation. I am logging in my user like this: if (PasswordHasher.Hash(password) == dataUser.Password) { FormsAuthentication.SetAuthCookie(email, true); return true; } The problem is, when the session expires obviously the user has to login again. I am thinking I should be storing this Auth cookie in my users table? Update: I'm obviously in desperate need of more education in this area. I just noticed that the user stays authenticated even after an iisreset. I guess what I'm asking is how can I get persistent and non persistent authentication working properly. I want a user to not have to login again if they click "remember", and if they don't then their authentication should expire when the forms authentication is set to expire.

  I create a lot of quick "proof of concept" MVC apps and I actually found the SimpleMembership provider that shipped with the MVC4 templates to be very handy since it gets me up and running with user registration & OAuth in a matter of minutes. But...I've started to use RavenDb (on RavenHQ for a lot for my projects). So, I starting trying to implement my own "custom membership provider" based on the ExtendedMembershipProvider and while doing that I realized that didn't make much sense. I later stumbled upon 2 interesting projects that try to solve this exact problem: WorldDomination.Web.Auth: https://github.com/PureKrome/WorldDomination.Web.Authentication MemFlex: https://github.com/OdeToCode/Memflex Both are pretty interesting recent efforts and was wondering if these are the only ones being built right now. I'm essentially looking for nuget pkg that I can drop into a MVC4 app, connect to my RavenDb and be done. Here is the following code : each user in users - if (user.valid == 1) tr(style="color:green;") - else tr(style="color:red;") td = user.mail td = user.lastIp td = user.token td = user.valid My problem is that the tds are created only in the else case. if the if (user.valid == 1) is true, then it creates an empty tr. Is there a way I can create my tr with this condition, and then only fill them ? Thanks :)

  Hi, i have tried offset in simpledb but its not working as it working in mysql , and i want to do paging for my database api in php so that i send the pagenumber and pagelength to the query and it will return the data of that page only. How this i can do in simpledb. select * from second where time_stamp is not null and gibid = '54' and gibview = 'O' order by time_stamp asc limit $pagelength as offset is not working so i can't add offset in query. I have google and find there is next token is returned but i am not getting nexttoken. how to check for nexttoken. Please help . Thanks

• SVN Subversion use explicit cached credentials

  I am trying to run a SVN command in a script, but the script is launched as a system service that has cached svn username/password credentials. I could always just put the username/password arguments in the command: svn info --username bob --password pass but I'd rather not have my username/password just sitting in a text file. I've discovered that my cached credentails (when run svn normally) end up here: C:\Documents and Settings\bob\Application Data\Subversion\auth\svn.simple\6ef188c2163f1ccc860a690b7ad21a15 Is there any way I could copy this cached credential file to where my script exists and just call that file explicitly?
