• ModSecurity compile error on nginx

  I'm trying to install ModSecurity on nginx with the following instructions : wget https://github.com/SpiderLabs/ModSecurity/archive/master.zip unzip master cd ModSecurity-master ./autogen.sh ./configure --enable-standalone-module And i got the following error : Checking plataform... Identified as Linux configure: looking for Apache module support via DSO through APXS configure: error: couldn't find APXS After installing httpd-devel httpd-devel and running ./configure --enable-standalone-module --with-apxs=/usr/sbin/apxs ; make modsecurity compile workes but still have another error of nginx compilation : ./configure   I can't seem to find a flash image for my mainboard. There is not even a product page for it (any more, although there used to be a manual at http://download.asrock.com/manual/qig/H67M-GETHW.pdf, as google revealed). So no driver updates from the manufacturer for my mainboard either. I offered the flash images for both of the similarly named H67M-GE and H67M-GE/HT to asrock's "Instant Flash" utility, but it complained it "could not find an image" on my usb drive. The asrock page states that "Instant Flash" searches for a flash image that exactly matches the mainboard, i.e. it must have determined that the H67M-GE/THW I have is different from H67M-GE and H67M-GE/HT. Any idea?

  Following on from this question: Why does my PowerShell script hang when called in PSEXEC via a batch (.cmd) file? I took the advice from Jim B and installed WinRM. To recap I have two servers: HMon01 - runs Windows 2003 Standard SP2 Web1928 - runs Windows 2008 Standard SP2 Both servers are standalone. I installed WinRM for Windows 2003 from here and configured WinRM as follows on both machines: Client NetworkDelayms = 5000 URLPrefix = wsman AllowUnencrypted = false Auth Basic = true Digest = true Kerberos = true Negotiate = true Certificate = true DefaultPorts HTTP = 80 HTTPS = 443 TrustedHosts = * The problem I have is that if I remotely execute commands using the remote machine's built in Administrator account then all is well. However I have an account on the remote machine named remoteexec which is a member of the Administrators group (we disable our Administrator accounts). If I use this account then I get Access Denied errors. I've done all the usual things such as checking passwords and the like. Why would this be?

• How to migrate from Natara DayNotez for Pocket PC / Windows Mobile

  I've been using DayNotez as my notes manager since the old Palm PDA days. When I moved to Windows Mobile, I installed DayNotez there and migrated from the Palm version. Now I wish to move from DayNotez altogether (I currently consider Evernote as a decent cross-platform tool). Problem is, DayNotez doesn't let me export the notes (unless I want to transfer them one by one, which is a pain). Natara offers an export tool for Windows, but it only works for Palm HotSync (as it reads from the backed-up PDB file). DayNotez Desktop for Windows stores its local DB under "My Documents\Natara\DayNotez\" directory in a file named "[device name] DayNotez.dnz". Quick look within the file spots a string "Standard Jet DB" near the beginning, but I couldn't open it as a regular JET/MDB file. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  I have a printer connected to my computer that I'd like to share on my home network - shouldn't be a problem. The computer the printer is connected to is running Vista Ultimate x64. The computers I'm trying to share with are x86 Windows XP Professional and x86 Vista, so I need to install additional (x86) drivers. I checked the box to add x86 printer drivers and then it asked for the location of the drivers. I browsed to the location and clicked OK. It then prompted "Please provide path to Windows media (x86 processor). When I click "Browse..." it wants the location of a file named ntprint.inf It looks like it's asking for a Windows (x86) installation disk. I put one in but I can't seem to find this file on the 32-bit Vista install disk Where is the proper place to find this file?

This behavior is expected as our Preview Action does not support downloading partial content. How can we improve the Controller Action to support partial HTTP content? I assume we first have to inform the client that we support it (adding an "Accept-Ranges:bytes" header to a HEAD request), then we have to evaluate the HTTP "Range" header and stream the requested file range with a response code of 206. Will that work with ASP.NET MVC hosted on IIS6? Is there already some code available?   My config is a DNS Server on Windows Server 2008 R2. My domain is on dyndns.org dynamic IP service. This server is a DNS server and a WebServer with IIS. When someone from outside network enter the site "http://domain.dyndns.org" within a webbrowser it is ok, but when someone try to enter "http://www.domain.dyndns.org" it doesn't find any website. So I would like to add a "www." record to my DNS. I did this: Added a A-Type record pointing to my server's local IP. Added a CNAME-Type record named "www" pointing to "domain.dyndns.org." Now I can enter the "www.domain.dyndns.org" from internal network, and it works, but when I enter this address from outside it doesn't work.

  I have a bulk uploading object in place that is being used to bulk upload roughly 25-40 image files at a time. Each image is about 100-150 kb in size. During the upload, I've created a for each loop that takes the file name of the image (minus the file extension) to write it into a column named "sku". Also, for each file being uploaded, the date is recorded to a column named DateUpdated, as well as some image path data. This is because these product images are always being revised and improved. For each new/improved image, the file name and extension will remain the same - so that when image 321-54321.jpg was first uploaded to the server, the new/improved version of that image will still have the image file name as 321-54321.jpg. I can't say for sure if the file sizes will remain in the 100-150KB range. I'll assume that the image file size will grow eventually. When images get uploaded (again), there of course will be an existing record in the database for that image. What is the best way to: Check the database for the existing record (stored procedure or SqlDataReader or create a DataSet ...?) Then if record exists, simply UPDATE that record so that the DateUpdated column gets today's date. If no record exists, do the INSERT of the record as normal. Things to consider: If the record exists, we'll let the actual image be uploaded. It will simply overwrite the existing image so that the new version gets displayed on the web. We're using SQL Server 2000 on hosted environment (DiscountAsp). I'm programming in C#. The uploading process will be used by about 2 managers a few times a month (each) - which to me is not a allot of usage. Although I'm a jr. developer, I'm guessing that a stored procedure would be the way to go. Just seems more efficient - to do this record check away from the for each loop... but not sure. I'd need extra help writing a sproc, since I don't have too much experience with them. Thank everyone...

• empty response body in ajax (or 206 Partial Content)

  Hi guys, I'm feeling completely stupid because I've spent two hours solving task which should be very simple and which I solved many times before. But now I'm not even sure in which direction to dig. I fail to fetch static content using ajax from local servers (Apache and Mongrel). I get responses 200 and 206 (depending on the server), empty response text (although Content-Length header is always correct), firebug shows request in red. Javascript is very generic, I'm getting same results even here: http://www.w3schools.com/ajax/tryit.asp?filename=tryajax_first (just change document location to 'http://localhost:3000/whatever') So, it's probably not the cause. Well, now I'm out of ideas. I can also post http headers, if it'll help. Thanks! • Can I install Microsoft Visual Web Developer w/o a SQL Server Express installation?

  When I attempt to install Microsoft Visual Web Developer 2010 Express, it forces an installation of SQL Server 2008 Express, which is okay. However, it forces it to have the instance name SQLEXPRESS instead being the default instance. I tried installing SQL Server 2008 Express first, but the Web Platform Installer 3.0 still wants to download and install the named instance, which then I have to uninstall. I'm putting together a guide that several others in my group will follow, so I'd like to not have to tell them to "install, then uninstall". So, is there any reasonable way to either (1) install VWD w/o SS, or (2) install VWD but configure SS do use the default instance?

• Variable parsing with Bash and wget

  I'm attempting to use wget in a simple bash script to grab a jpeg image from an Axis camera. This script outputs a file named JPEGOUT, instead of the desired output, which should be a timestamp jpeg (ex: 201209292040.jpg) . Changing the variable in the wget statement from JPEGOUT to $JPEGOUT makes wget fail with "wget: missing URL" error. The weird thing is wget parses the $IP vairable correctly. No luck on the output file name. I've tried single quotes, double quotes, parenthesis: all to no luck. Here's the script !/bin/bash IP=$1 JPEGOUT= date +%Y%m%d%H%M.jpg wget -O JPEGOUT http://$IP/axis-cgi/jpg/image.cgi?resolution=640x480&compression=25 Any ideas on how to get the output file name to parse correctly?

• How To Grant Folder permissions for WMSvc IIS

  Im using Web Deploy with IIS7 and I want to grant permissions on a web site physical folder. Ive done this before (as I have another physical folder with r/w for WMSvc) but I have forgotten how I did it! When I go to the physical folder Security Tab Edit Add Object Name = WMSvc Check Names, I get 'An object named WMSvc cannot be found'?? I have the 'WMSvc' object listed fine in the 'Groups or usernames' on the other Folder I mentioned above. I feel a bit daft, what am I doing wrong, how can give folder permissions to WMSvc object on a physical folder?

  I'm running nginx 1.3.5 under windows seven, I need to execute nginx directly from a read-only media (CD or DVD), but when I want to run it, it fails with this error: nginx: [alert] could not open error log file: CreateFile() "logs/error.log" fail ed (5: Access is denied) 2012/08/28 13:52:46 [emerg] 5604#2864: CreateDirectory() "J:\nginx-1.3.5/temp/client_body_temp" failed (5: Access is denied) where J is my CD-ROM drive letter. I've changed nginx.conf to disable logging completely, but seems anyway it still tries to build a file named 'error.log' in '/logs' folder & some extra temporary contents in '/temp' folder at the startup, so I want to change 'logs' & 'temp' directory path to windows temp folder (%temp%), but I dont have any idea that how can I do it. Also I want to know why nginx still creates 'logs/error.log' after disableing error logging ?

• Spikes in Socket Performance

  We are facing random spikes in high throughput transaction processing system using sockets for IPC. Below is the setup used for the run: The client opens and closes new connection for every transaction, and there are 4 exchanges between the server and the client. We have disabled the TIME_WAIT, by setting the socket linger (SO_LINGER) option via getsockopt as we thought that the spikes were caused due to the sockets waiting in TIME_WAIT. There is no processing done for the transaction. Only messages are passed. OS used Centos 5.4 The average round trip time is around 3 milli seconds, but some times the round trip time ranges from 100 milli seconds to couple of seconds. Steps used for Execution and Measurement and output Starting the server $ python sockServerLinger.py /dev/null & Starting the client to post 1 million transactions to the server. And logs the time for a transaction in the client.log file. $ python sockClient.py 1000000 client.log Once the execution finishes the following command will show the execution time greater than 100 milliseconds in the format <line_number>:<execution_time>. $ grep -n "0.[1-9]" client.log | less Below is the example code for Server and Client. • Apache2 Service started twice

  My apache2 web-server starts twice and wont bind, so i have to do this: sudo netstat -nap | grep 0.0.0.0:443 sudo kill -9 1243 sudo /etc/init.d/apache2 restart Is there any way i can make a script out of the code above so that i can run automatically on start up? I have Ubuntu 10.04, this happened after an update.   I am working in google spreadsheets and I am trying to do some counting that takes into consideration cell values across multiple cells in each row. Here's my table: |AUTHOR| |ARTICLE| |VERSION| |PRE-SELECTED| ANDREW GOLF STREAM 1 X ANDREW GOLF STREAM 2 X ANDREW HURRICANES 1 JOHN CAPE COD 1 X JOHN GOLF STREAM 1 (Google doc here) Each person can submit multiple articles as well as multiple versions of the same article. Sometimes different people submit different articles that happen to be identically named (Andrew and John both submitted different articles called "Golf Stream"). Multiple versions written by the same person do not count as unique, but articles with the same title written by different people do count as unique. So, I am looking to find a formula that Counts the number of unique articles that have been submitted [4] (without having to manually create extra columns for doing CONCATS, if possible) It would also be great to find formulas that: Count the number of unique articles that have been pre-selected (marked "X" in "PRE-SELECTED" column) [2] Count the number of unique articles that have only 1 version [4] Count the number of unique articles that have more than 1 of their versions pre-selected 1 Thank you so much!
