• Is it possible to modify a video codec + distribute it?

  this is my first question on this particular stackexchange node, not sure if it's the most appropriate place for this question (if not, guidance to the appropriate node would be appreciated). the abstract: I'm interested in modifying existing video codecs and distributing my modded codecs in such a way as to make them easily added to a users codec library... for example to be added to their mpeg streamclip, ffmpeg etc. some details: I've had some experience modifying codecs by hacking ffmpeg source files and compiling my hacked code (so that for ex: my version of ffmpeg has a very different h.263 than yours). I'm interested now in taking these modified codecs and somehow making them easily distributable, so others could "add them" to their "libraries." Also, I realize there are some tricky rights/patent issues here, this is in part my motivation. • Change the output of the facebook like button [migrated]

  I've tied in the code for the facebook like button from the facebook dev site (I currently use the iframe version) directly into the html of a node (or content post). I want to be able to manipulate what text is sent when someone hits the like button. you can see the site and buttons here www.masteringmoneybasics.org I've tried both the iframe and html5 versions of the button and can't see where to alter what is sent. If there is no way to directly alter what is sent, does anyone know what it looks for in content to be sent so I can structure the node correctly? If you notice, when you like the page, it doesn't get the first sentence of the content, but all content after it, and I've tried putting different content in between the two lines (in its own <p>) and it still grabs the latter. Also how it figures out which image to grab from the page? Most times it doesn't take any image, however twice it's grabbed the middle school image.

• Sticky notes associated with web page - how to?

  I have this idea for a project. Associated with any web page, i want to create notes that will be saved locally in a database, the notes will be reloaded automatically from that database the next time i visit the same page. Creating the note is easy, but i'm looking for how to link the notes to the web page url and how to keep aware of the active web page. Any idea?   After the recording of the latest API Design Tip for the upcoming NetBeans Podcast, Jaroslav Tulach helped me with the problem I blogged about yesterday. First he expressed surprise at seeing Undo/Redo work on Nodes, which was never the intention, i.e., that feature was always intended for documents, e.g., the Java editor. However, he then showed me where to find the Properties window in the NetBeans sources, where it is org.netbeans.core.windows.view.ui.NbSheet. It turns out that the Properties window does not have an activated node and hence the Node that implements UndoRedo.Manager is never put in the Lookup. Once we added, on line 303, "this.setActivatedNodes(nodes);", everything worked as expected, i.e., the Undo/Redo actions are now enabled, even when the Properties window is selected: Maybe it means I should file an issue to get that line added to NbSheet?

My question: Im trying to build a CSS horizontal menu with hover drop downs, however, when I use the 'display: inline' property with li (list) items, I get horizontal spaces between the li (list) items in the bar. How do I remove this space? • Cocos2d push scene with parameter, the parameter is reset after push. How to troubleshoot? Thoughts?

  In the helloWorldLayer.m, I push a scene with some parameter like this [[CCDirector sharedDirector] replaceScene:[CCTransitionFade transitionWithDuration:0.2 scene:[RootLayer sceneWithInt:123]]]; where the RootLayer I have a modified method +(CCScene *) sceneWithInt:(int) i{ CCScene *scene = [CCScene node]; GameplayLayer *layer = [[GameplayLayer node] retain]; [layer setTestInt:i]; [scene addChild: layer z:0 tag:100]; return scene; } In the above, the "GameplayLayer" has an Int property "TestInt" which I would like to set it before this layer is push. However, the moment the GameplayLayer is loaded, that TestInt property is reset to 0. It is not passing correctly. I remember in my last project this can be done. How to troubleshoot this?

  Hay all im building a news aggregator with SimplePie, the SP elements are working fine but I would like to have the feeds that it pulls in displayed in columns across the page using HTML5 and CSS3. I have managed to implement it so that the columns are formed and display the feeds, but at the moment the stories are being ordered one on to of the other from left to right with the newest being displayed top left, the second newest bellow the first in column one and so on. What I would like is for the stories to be displayed from left to right across the column so that the newest is at the top of the first column, the second newest at the top of the second column, the third newest in the third column and so on. • Rounded corners, is this Mozilla specific?

  I was looking at how some site implemented rounded corners, and the CSS had these odd tags that I've never really seen before. -moz-border-radius-topright: 5px; -webkit-border-top-right-radius: 5px; -moz-border-radius-bottomright: 5px; -webkit-border-bottom-right-radius: 5px; I googled it, and they seem to be Firefox specific tags? Update The site I was looking at was twitter, it's wierd how a site like that would alienate their IE users.

  I have a division in which i'll be having dynamic numbers of colorful blocks(that too divisions) at various instances. On clicking the box, i want them to expand & cover whole screen. the problem is, while boxes are expanding, they are expanding at there own position & not shifting in the screen.. • VirtualBox Issue: virtualbox changed my Computer Name's ip address in Windows

  I had installed virtualbox 4.2.2 in Windows 7. • How to find cause of main file system going to read only mode

  Ubuntu 12.04 File system goes to readonly mode frequently. First of all I have read this question file system is going into read only mode frequently already. But I have to know if it's not caused by something else than dying hard drive. This is server provided by my client and I am just runing there some node.js workers + one node.js server and I am using mongodb. From time to time (every 20-50h) system suddenly makes filesystem read only, mongodb process fails (due read-only fs) and my node workers/server (which are started by forever) are just killed.   I am using Juniper J-series routers to emulate a small telco and VPN customer.The internal routing will be configured with OSPF,MPLS including a default and backup path,RSVP for distributing labels withing the telco,OSPF for distributing routes from the customer edge (CE) routers to the VRF's in the adjacent PE's and finally iBGP for distributing customer routes between VRF's in different PEs. The topology of the network is shown below. The Addressing scheme for the network is as follows. How do I accomplish this.? With my understanding below is the procedure to achieve this.Is the below explanation correct? I set up OSPF on UOW-TAU ge-0/0/0 interface and ge-0/0/1 interface and UOW-HAM ge-0/0/0 interface and ge-0/0/1 interface. let me call this Area 100. Once I have done this I should be able to reach each node from others using ping and traceroute. Any help is highly appreciated.

• sql server 2008 cluster hang when a heavy load is run

  we have a sql server 2008 active/active cluster running on wondows 2008R2 O/S. 14GB RAM, 4xCPU. we have set a ceiling of 12GB for sql server. We're running an agent job which loads 3 million records to a database. during this load the job fails and the cluster seems to attempt to fail over to the other node but unsuccessfully i.e., the cluster address is no longer accessible. we have to manually fail the cluster node back. during the load on viewing task manager we can see that memory usage hits a max of 12.5GB and CPU at times hits 100% on all 4 CPU, but for the most part fluctuates at an average of about 60%. I suppose my question is, will a cluster try to fail over if memory or CPU are taking a heavy hit? or am i barking up the wrong tree? also any ideas why it wouldn't fully fail over? we've crawled through logs, of which there are a lot, and can't find anything useful. we've also tried recreating the issue but it ran successfully at a later time. Also 3 million rows doesn't seem like a lot but in terms of resources should 14GB RAM and 4xCPU not be sufficient? Further information on this, we ran the load again today and corrupted the database! We received the error message : LogWriter: Operating system error 170. It looks like, under the heavy load, the sql cluster attempted to fail over and in doing so migrated a lun (or drive) which meant the disk was no longer reachable. (this is just our theory). The database is now 'suspect' and requiring restoration. The 170 error above also indicates that on failing over to the other node, the sql service could not start as it was already in use, therefore it couldn't fail over fully?? But I'm wondering why would it need to fail over in the first place? My assumptions could be completely wrong on this, so any ideas would be appreciated.

• Ubuntu 12.04 glusterfs volume failed to mount at boot time

  I have just setup 7 KVM guests, all running Ubuntu 12.04 LTS 64bit Minimal server to test out glusterfs 3.2.5 from the Ubuntu official repo. Two of them form a mirrored pair (i.e. replica 2), and five of them are clients. I am still new to this file system and would like to gain some "hands-on" experience. The setup was mostly uneventful, until I put in the following into each glusterfs client's /etc/fstab: 192.168.122.120:/testvol /var/local/testvol glusterfs defaults,_netdev 0 0, where 192.168.122.120 is the IP address of the first "glusterfs server". If I issue either a manaul mountall or a mount.glusterfs 192.168.122.120:/testvol /var/local/testvol on CLI, a mount shows that the volume is successfully imported. But once a client is rebooted, after it comes back up, the volume is not mounted! I searched the Internet, and found this article, but since I am not running both client and server on the same node, IMHO it's not strictly applicable. So, as a kludgy "get-around", I put in a sleep 3 && mount.glusterfs 192.168.122.120:/testvol /var/local/testvol into each client node's /etc/rc.local. It seems to be able to get the volume mounted on each node, as far as I can tell. But this is quite ugly, and I would appreciate a hint as to how to resolve this glusterfs-non-boot-time-mounting issue correctly. Note that I used the IP address of the first "glusterfs server" although the /etc/hosts of all nodes have been populated with their hostnames. I figured that the use of IP address is more robust. --Zack

  I'm pretty new to setting up apache locally with xampp. I'm trying to develop locally with xampp (Ubuntu 11.04) linux 1.7.4 for a Drupal Site. I've actually git pulled an exact copy of this drupal site from another testing server hosted at MediaTemple. Issue I'll visit my local development environment virtualhost (http://bbk.loc) and the front page renders correctly with no errors from drupal or apache. The issue is the subsequent pages don't return an "Object not found" Error from apache. What is more bizarre is when I add various query strings and the pages are found (like http://bbk.loc?p=user).   Hi Guys, I have 2 mysql clusters on two different servers with management node on each of them. It went down someway. I ran following commands to start the cluster: Start the management node on srv1: srv1: mysqlc/bin/ndb_mgmd --initial -f my_cluster/conf/config.ini --configdir=/home/mysql_cluster/my_cluster/conf Start the management node on srv2: srv2: mysqlc/bin/ndb_mgmd --initial -f my_cluster/conf/config.ini --configdir=/home/mysql_cluster/my_cluster/conf Start the ndbd nodes on srv1: srv1: mysqlc/bin/ndbd --initial -c localhost:1186 Start the ndbd nodes on srv2: srv2: mysqlc/bin/ndbd --initial -c localhost:1186 Start mysqld server on srv1: srv1: mysqlc/bin/mysqld --defaults-file=my_cluster/conf/my.cnf --user=root & and here is the problem. mysql server not loading the data. Only database names are present. All the tables which are ENGINE=ndbcluster are not being loaded. Tables with ENGINE=myisam are being loaded. Backup scripts helped me load the data. But this way I can't use cluster setup. Similar issue appeared when i started srv2. How can I resolve this issue ?

• How do you setup FTP with IIS Manager Users in an NLB environment with shared IIS configs?

  I've setup a 2 node NLB cluster and used the following to share IIS configs between them. http://blogs.technet.com/b/meamcs/archive/2012/05/30/configuring-iis-7-5-shared-configuration.aspx The IIS configs and content is located on a network share via a UNC path. This works - updating IIS settings on one node, is visible in another node and my website works on the individual nodes and the cluster as whole. I'm able to setup an FTP site and successfully connect with my Windows login. However, I want to use IIS Manager Authentication as defined in: http://www.iis.net/learn/publish/using-the-ftp-service/configure-ftp-with-iis-manager-authentication-in-iis-7 I've tried using "Network Service" with the FTP COM object as well as a dedicated user account that exists on all three hosts, but every time I try to login with an IIS user I get something like the following: IISWMSVC_AUTHENTICATION_UNABLE_TO_READ_CONFIG An unexpected error occurred while retrieving the authentication information.
