  • Group policy to disable notifications of particular errors?

    How do i disable the notifications of particular errors? A little background to my issue. During the installation of the Kaspersky, it disables all the windows firewall for all except the domain. I have remedied this by creating an offline policy in Kaspersky which enables the Kaspersky firewall when out of the office (ie not connected to the office network). The problem now is that users in the office now see a notification showing that the firewall is disabled even though it’s enabled in all scenarios. It’s just that work and home show as disabled when the clients are connected to the office LAN.   • How to turn archiving off in thunderbird 3.1?

    Hi I don't really understand what the archiving really does in thunderbird but it is kinda annoying. Like if I get a email and read it. It will turn to read in my inbox, but will show up as unread in my archives section. So the next time I get an email the thunderbird notification will popup and show that I have 1 new email but will show all those unread one in my archive. So even though I read all of the emails in my inbox the next time I get an email I get a popup notification of 6 messages when it should be 1 since 5 of those where in the archive and marked as unread. Anyone know how to stop this?

The features I'm looking at are: a task bar a tray bar an application launcher (I mostly use Launchy for that, but I need a launcher for those applications I forget the name...) The lighter and the easier to configure, the better! I'm currently using Emerge, but I found it a little buggy. I tried many others, but I never found something convincing.

    On my Windows 7 I set windows update to "download updates, but let me choose whether to install them". The problem is I don't get a notification when an optional update is available like definition updates for microsoft security essentials. I have "give me recommended updates the same way I receive important updates" checked, but I have no notification balloon or icon when there is a new optional update is available. From time to time I open Windows update and then I see I have new optional updates available. How to get notifications for those too?

    I have this simple formula: =CONCATENATE("foo";"bar") which renders foobar on the cell. How can I lay this formula in multiple lines in the same cell? I'd like to be able to do something like the following but it doesn't work as the newline in the cell forbids the formula from being executed: =CONCATENATE("foo"; "bar") The reason I'm asking is because I have huge formulas an I need to format them (using newlines and a bit of indentation) for readability. thanks

  • Windows 8 store freezes when searching for updates

    I'm running Windows 8 Pro (x64) on my home desktop. Everything is working well (very very differently, but well) except for the Store application. Several days ago, I got an update notification that listed 8 application updates. I hit the link to install the updates, but only six of them installed. Now I have Updates(2) showing in the store's notification area, and whenever I try to look for the updates the Store goes into "searching" mode (the circles/dots animation) and never finishes the search. Is there any way that I can reset the Store app? I have tried re-downloading it with no success.

    Many of us have embraced the podcasting revolution enabled by rss feeds and podcatchers. Alot of sites now broadcast live streams of what is eventually edited into a podcast. In most cases listening to the live stream gets you the info several days sooner then the podcast. So I was wondering if anybody knows of a notification protocol / app that allows me to auto tune into certain streams when they go live, or based on a schedule. I imagine twitter could be used for the notification but It'd be better not to be tied to a proprietary service.     Since the release of the latest version of firefox, I've been having an issue where Vimperator will show scrollbars on its tab-bar. I can't find any relevant options in Vimperator's docs or via googling. The only option that looked remotely relevant was the "scrollbars" setting, but that just determines whether I get scrollbars on Firefox's content window... Is there any particular setting I have to use to hide scrollbars from the tab-bar? (I'm using Waterfox on Win8)

    Is there an Emacs function that toggles between .cpp and .hpp files that are not in the same directories? I know there is toggle-source.el, but it apparently does not handle the case where .cpp and .hpp are not in different directories. But my directory structure is like this: project1/src/foo.cpp project1/include/foo.hpp project2/src/bar.cpp project2/include/bar.hpp It shouldn't be hard to toggle between src/foo.cpp and include/foo.hpp but I don't speak Lisp ... :`(

The main problem is that a lot of users like me are missing some valuable information that was displayed in the statusbar on previous versions. For instance, when hovering a link the url is now displayed in the address bar and you can't see the entire address. Other information like which servers are being contacted when you load a page are no longer displayed.

    I have a client that is divesting a business unit into a new AD forest, Exchange org, etc. We're using Quest tools to migrate users and mailboxes. However, I have to build the new infrastructure to match the old one. In the old one, we're using Managed Folder Mailbox Policies to limit (or allow) retention. They started with Exchange 2007 and never upgraded to Retention Policies; oh well. So, in the old environment, when you use a 2007 server to define a new Managed Content Setting, you can pick "Email" from the dropdown for MessageClass.   • How can I recursively verify the permissions within a given subdirectory?

    I'd like to verify that nothing within /foo/bar is chmod 777. Or, alternatively, I'd like to make sure that nothing within /foo/bar us owned by user1 or in group1. Is there any way I can recursively verify the permissions within a given subdirectory to make sure there aren't any security holes? Notice that I do not want to change all the permissions to something specific, nor do I want to change the owner to something specific, so a recursive chmod or chown won't do it... Thanks!

    I'm setting up a custom 403.4 handler so that non-SSL requests to my site are redirected to a different URL - and what I'd like to do is to include the script path and query string in the redirect, so that a user who requests http://www.site.com/foo?bar=1 will be redirected to https://www.site.com/foo?bar=1 I know something similar is possible when configuring a top-level site redirect, using the $S, $Q, %v tokens referred to in this IIS reference page - but this syntax doesn't seem to work when configuring a custom error redirect.

I was thinking something along the lines of this: If I'm in /foo/bar/baz/qux/quux/corge/grault and want to go to /foo/bar/baz, I want to do something like 'cdto baz'. When I visit a site in Firefox 15 I have two different behaviours when: Pressing enter in the address bar Pressing F5 or the refresh button If I look in the network console I can see that F5 does a lot more requests, most of them about cached resources and with a 304-Not Modified answer. Is there's any shortcut to make a quick refresh? Just like pressing enter on the address bar.
