  • An algorithm to find common edits

    - by Tass
    I've got two word lists, an example: list 1 list 2 foot fuut barj kijo foio fuau fuim fuami kwim kwami lnun lnun kizm kazm I'd like to find o ? u # 1 and 3 i ? a # 3 and 7 im ? ami # 4 and 5 This should be ordered by amount of occurrences, so I can filter the ones that don't appear often. The lists currently consist of 35k words, the calculation should take about 6h on an average server.

  • Is complete boost going to be included in C++0x?

    - by iammilind
    Many utilities of boost have been included as part of extended C++ TR1 currently. Is the complete boost library going to be included once the standard is officially out ? In other words, do I need boost library, if I have complete standard conforming C++11 compiler ? If not then any reason for that (Reliability cannot be an issue; as far as I know it's written by many people from standard committee) ?

  • How to store the hostname in a variable in a .bat file?

    - by eqbridges
    I would like to convert this /bin/sh syntax into a widely compatible Windows batch script: host=`hostname` echo ${host} How to do this so that it'll work on any Windows Vista, Windows XP, and Windows 2000 machine? To clarify: I would then like to go on in the program and use the hostname as stored in the variable host. In other words, the larger goal of the program is not to simply echo the hostname.

  • add space to every word's end in a string in C

    - by hlx98007
    Here I have a string: *line = "123 567 890 "; with 2 spaces at the end. I wish to add those 2 spaces to 3's end and 7's end to make it like this: "123 567 890" I was trying to achieve the following steps: parse the string into words by words list (array of strings). From upstream function I will get values of variables word_count, *line and remain. concatenate them with a space at the end. add space distributively, with left to right priority, so when a fair division cannot be done, the second to last word's end will have (no. of spaces) spaces, the previous ones will get (spaces + 1) spaces. concatenate everything together to make it a new *line. Here is a part of my faulty code: int add_space(char *line, int remain, int word_count) { if (remain == 0.0) return 0; // Don't need to operate. int ret; char arr[word_count][line_width]; memset(arr, 0, word_count * line_width * sizeof(char)); char *blank = calloc(line_width, sizeof(char)); if (blank == NULL) { fprintf(stderr, "calloc for arr error!\n"); return -1; } for (int i = 0; i < word_count; i++) { ret = sscanf(line, "%s", arr[i]); // gdb shows somehow it won't read in. if (ret != 1) { fprintf(stderr, "Error occured!\n"); return -1; } arr[i] = strcat(arr[i], " "); // won't compile. } size_t spaces = remain / (word_count * 1.0); memset(blank, ' ', spaces + 1); for (int i = 0; i < word_count - 1; i++) { arr[0] = strcat(arr[i], blank); // won't compile. } memset(blank, ' ', spaces); arr[word_count-1] = strcat(arr[word_count-1], blank); for (int i = 1; i < word_count; i++) { arr[0] = strcat(arr[0], arr[i]); } free(blank); return 0; } It is not working, could you help me find the parts that do not work and fix them please? Thank you guys.

  • Database model for storing expressions and their occurrence in text

    - by lisak
    Hey, I'm doing a statistical research application. I need to store words according to 2 initial letters which is 676 combinations and each word has its number of occurrences (minimal, maximal, average) in text. I'm not sure how the model/schema should look like. There will be a lot of checking whether the keyword was already persisted. I appreciate your suggestions. Edit: I'll be using either mysql or postgresql + spring templates

  • Retrieve KEYWORDS from META tag in a HTML WebPage using JAVA.

    - by kooldave98
    Hello all, I want to retrieve all the content words from a HTML WebPage and all the keywords contained in the META TAG of the same HTML webpage using Java. For example, consider this html source code: <html> <head> <meta name = "keywords" content = "deception, intricacy, treachery"> </head> <body> My very short html document. <br> It has just 2 'lines'. </body> </html> The CONTENT WORDS here are: my, very, short, html, document, it, has, just, lines Note: The punctuation and the number '2' are ruled out. The KEYWORDS here are: deception, intricacy, treachery I have created a class for this purpose called WebDoc, this is as far as I have been able to get. import java.io.BufferedReader; import java.io.IOException; import java.io.InputStreamReader; import java.net.URL; import java.util.Set; import java.util.TreeSet; public class WebDoc { protected URL _url; protected Set<String> _contentWords; protected Set<String> _keyWords public WebDoc(URL paramURL) { _url = paramURL; } public Set<String> getContents() throws IOException { //URL url = new URL(url); Set<String> contentWords = new TreeSet<String>(); BufferedReader in = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(_url.openStream())); String inputLine; while ((inputLine = in.readLine()) != null) { // Process each line. contentWords.add(RemoveTag(inputLine)); //System.out.println(RemoveTag(inputLine)); } in.close(); System.out.println(contentWords); _contentWords = contentWords; return contentWords; } public String RemoveTag(String html) { html = html.replaceAll("\\<.*?>",""); html = html.replaceAll("&",""); return html; } public Set<String> getKeywords() { //NO IDEA ! return null; } public URL getURL() { return _url; } @Override public String toString() { return null; } }
