  • .NET load assembly error metabase config

    Hi, Yesterday I found out that the mailroot directory had moved to a different location on the C drive. I don't know how this happened as no configs were changed, using IIS7 with IIS6 SMTP service on Windows 2008 R2 web edition. I wanted to restore it to the default c:\inetpub\mailroot location. So I opened system32/inetsrv/MetaBase.xml, and in the node was the problem, BadMailDirectory, DropDirectory etc were all pointing to the wrong location... I changed them back to the default c:\inetpub\mailroot. Later I discovered an ASP.NET application was throwing this error: An error occurred in the Microsoft .NET Framework while trying to load assembly id 1. The server may be running out of resources, or the assembly may not be trusted with PERMISSION_SET = EXTERNAL_ACCESS or UNSAFE. Run the query again, or check documentation to see how to solve the assembly trust issues. For more information about this error: System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly 'microsoft.sqlserver.types, Version=10.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=89845dcd8080cc91' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified. I figured it had to do with my changes to the mailroot locations, so I gave ASP.NET access to the mailroot directory and it was working.... My question is, how is this possible? Why does APS.NET require access to the mailroot directory to load assemblies? Thanks

  • Using a Scala symbol literal results in NoSuchMethod

    I have recently begun using Scala. I've written a DSL in it which can be used to describe a processing pipeline in medici. In my DSL, I've made use of symbols to signify an anchor, which can be used to put a fork (or a tee, if you prefer) in the pipeline. In my DSL I am using an implicit function which converts symbols to instances of the Anchor class, like so: implicit def makeAnchor(a: Symbol):Anchor = anchor(a) Sadly, my understanding of Scala is weak enough that I can't think of why that might be causing my NoSuchMethodError.

I'm running under Mac OSX, if it matters.

  • Using SDL Tridion 2011 Core Service to create Components programatically

    I have seen some of the questions/answers related to this topic here, however still I am not getting the suggestion which I want. So I am posting my question again here, and I would be thankful for your valuable time and answers. I would like to create “Component, Page, SG, Publication, Folders “ via programmatically in SDL Tridion Content Manager, and later on, I would like to add programmatically created components in Page and attach CT,PT for that page, and finally would like to publish the page programmatically. I have done these all the activities in SDL Tridion 2009 using TOM API (Interop DLL's), and I tried these activities in SDL Tridion 2011 using TOM.Net API. It was not working and later on I came to know that, TOM.Net API will not support these kinds of works and it is specifically only for Templates and Event System. And finally I came to know I have to go for Core services to do these kinds of stuffs. My Questions: When I create console application to create component programmatically using core service, what are the DLL’s I have to add as reference? Earlier, I have created the exe and ran in the TCM server, the exe created all the stuffs, can I used the same approach using core services too? Will it work? Is BC still available or Core Service replaced BC? (BC-Business Connector) Can anyone send some code snippet to create Component/Page (complete class file will be helpful to understand better) Thanks Jai

    I found this kind of interesting problem in MySQL InnoDB engine, could anyone explain why the engine always claim it's a deadlock. First, I created a table with a single row, single column: CREATE TABLE `SeqNum` (`current_seq_num` bigint(30) NOT NULL default '0', PRIMARY KEY (`current_seq_num`) ) ENGINE=InnoDB DEFAULT CHARSET=utf8 | Now, I have two MySQL connector threads, In thread1: mysql> begin; Query OK, 0 rows affected (0.00 sec) mysql> select `current_seq_num` into @curr_seq FROM SeqNum FOR UPDATE; Query OK, 1 row affected (0.00 sec) Now, in thread2, I did the exactly same: mysql> begin; Query OK, 0 rows affected (0.00 sec) mysql> select `current_seq_num` into @curr_seq FROM SeqNum FOR UPDATE; before the default innodb_lock_wait_timeout, the thread2 just wait for thread1 to release its exclusive lock on the table, and it's normal. However, in thread1, if I input the following update query: mysql> update SeqNum set `current_seq_num` = 8; ERROR 1213 (40001): Deadlock found when trying to get lock; try restarting transaction Now, thread2 get the select query finished because thread1 quits. In addition, in thread1, if I input the update query with a where clause, it can be executed very well: mysql> update SeqNum set `current_seq_num` = 8 where `current_seq_num` =5 Query OK, 1 row affected (0.00 sec) Could anyone explain this?

  • Sending solicited mass email

    Our company does work environment surveys, and these surveys are filled in online. All participants are sent a link to their survey in an email (personal code included). Some of our clients have employee counts in the hundreds and sometimes in the thousands. Our current solution is just using our SMTP-server to send this, without any form of throttling (VB6, CDO). (All recipients are usually "inside" the same domain, [email protected]) This is not a good solution, as you may imagine, this triggers every anti-spam/firewall/gatekeeper event in the clients environment. We are put in contact with their IT-department beforehand and get them to whitelist our sending server and sender-mail address. The most usual problems we run in to are: Receiving server only grabs the 20-50 first mails and rejects the rest (anti-spam measure). We sometimes can get by this by getting the it-company to whitelist us. Sometimes however, this does not work. It's getting more and more normal to disable bouncing of incorrect mail addresses. This gives us no indication of whether a mail has been delivered or not. And believe it or not, most clients gives us their email list from their HR-system, not their mailsystem. Does anyone have any suggestions for a better way to do this? We can't be the only company sending legitimate mass emails? :)

This exception is unhalted and the debugger dont point on any code line. It just say "Object reference not set to an instance of an object. MySql.Data" This error is really hard to repeat. Try again in a few moments. * If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection. If I comment out the lines I've added to my web.xml file, the webapp works fine. My log file in /var/lib/tomcat6/logs says nothing. I can't figure out if this is a problem with my keystore file, my server.xml file or my web.xml file.... Any assistance is appreciated I am using tomcat 6 on ubuntu.

  • Log4Net GetLogger creates rolling files even for the unreferenced files

    Hi, I have a C# solution that contains three executables. I have each of these three executables sharing the same log4net configuration file. At startup of each of the executable, they retrieve a logger (one logger per executable, as per configuration file further below). When one of the executable performs Log.GetLogger(), it creates all the rolling files instead of only the one rolling file that is referred to as appender-ref in the executable's logger configuration. For instance, when I startup my sending daemon executable, it performs Log.GetLogger("SendingDaemonLogger") which creates 3 files Log/RuleScheduler.txt, Log/NotificationGenerator.txt and Log/NotificationSender.txt instead of only the desired Log/NotificationSender.txt. Then when I startup another of the executables, for instance the rule scheduler daemon, this other process cannot write in Log/RuleScheduler.txt because it has been created and locked by the sending daemon process. I am guessing that there may be three different solutions to my problem: The GetLogger should only create the rolling file appenders that are referenced in the config I should have one config file per executable, this way each config file could list only one rolling file appender and starting each of the executable would not create the rolling files of the other daemons. I am however reluctant to do this because some of the configuration (SMTP appender, console appender) is shared between the daemons and I don't want to have duplicate copies to maintain. Unless there is a way to have a config file including another one? Maybe there is a way to configure the rolling file so that concurrent access across processes is allowed? This solution still isn't perfect in my opinion because any of the daemons should not be creating the rolling files of some other daemons. Thanks in advance for your help! If realm.xml changes then whenever the script is run again it will replace the lines again with the new contents of realm.xml. This is intended to be run in /etc/init.d/tomcat on startup of the service on multiple installations on which the realm is going to be different. I'm not so sure how can I do this simply with awk or sed.

  • How to restrict text search to a certain subset of the database ?

    I have a large central database of around 1 million heavy records. In my app, for every user I would have a subset of rows from central table, which would be very small (probably 100 records each).When a particular user has logged in , I would want to search on this data set only. Example: Say I have a central database of all cars in the world. I have a user profile for General Motors(GM) , Ferrari etc. When GM is logged in I just want to search(a full text search and not fire a sql query) for those cars which are manufactured by GM. Also GM may launch/withdraw a model in which case central db would be updated & so would be rowset associated with GM. In case of acquisitions, db of certain profiles may change without launch/removal of new car. So central db wont change then , but rowsets may. Whats the best way to implement such a design ? These smaller row sets would need to be dynamic depending on user activities. We are on Rails 2.3.5 and use thinking_sphinx as the connector and Sphinx/MySQL for search and relational associations.

    I get a quite well-known using MySql jdbc driver : JDBCConnectionException: Communications link failure, java.io.EOFException: Can not read response from server. This is caused by the wait_timeout parameter in my.cnf. So I decided to use c3p0 pool connection along with Hibernate. Here is what I added to hibernate.cfg.xml : <property name="hibernate.connection.provider_class">org.hibernate.connection.C3P0ConnectionProvider</property> <property name="c3p0.min_size">10</property> <property name="c3p0.max_size">100</property> <property name="c3p0.timeout">1000</property> <property name="c3p0.preferredTestQuery">SELECT 1</property> <property name="c3p0.acquire_increment">1</property> <property name="c3p0.idle_test_period">2</property> <property name="c3p0.max_statements">50</property> idle_test_period is volontarily low for test purposes. Looking at the mysql logs I can see the "SELECT 1" request which is regularly sent to the mysql server so it works. Unfortunately I still get this EOF exception within my app if I wait longer than 'wait_timout' seconds (set to 10 for test purposes). I'm using Hibernate 4.1.1 and mysql-jdbc-connector 5.1.18.   • Configuring mod_rewrite and mod_jk for Apache 2.2 and JBoss 4.2.3

    Hello! My problem is as follows: I have JBoss 4.2.3 application server with AJP 1.3 connector running on one host under Windows (192.168.1.2 for my test environment) and Apache 2.2.14 running on another FreeBSD box (192.168.1.10). Apache acts as a "front gate" for all requests and sends them to JBoss via mod_jk. Everything was working fine until I had to do some SEO optimizations. These optimizations include SEF urls, so i decided to use mod_rewrite for Apache to alter requests before they are sent to JBoss. Basically, I nedd to implement 2 rules: Redirect old rules like "http://hostname/directory/" to "http://hostname/" with permanent redirect Forward urls like "http://hostname/wtf/123/" to "http://hostname/wtf/view.htm?id=123" so that end user doesn't see the "ugly" URL (the actual rewrite). Here is my Apache config for test virtual host: <VirtualHost *:80> ServerAdmin [email protected] DocumentRoot "/usr/local/www/dummy" ServerName 192.168.1.10 <IfModule mod_rewrite.c> RewriteEngine On RewriteRule /directory/(.*) /$1 [R=permanent,L] RewriteRule ^/([^/]+)/([0-9]+)/?$ /$1/view.htm?id=$2 </IfModule> JkMount /* jsp-hostname ErrorLog "/var/log/dummy-host.example.com-error_log" CustomLog "/var/log/dummy-host.example.com-access_log" common </VirtualHost> The problem is that second rewrite rule doesn't work. Requests slip through to JBoss unchanged, so I get Tomcat 404 error. But if I add redirect flag to the second rule like RewriteRule ^/([^/]+)/([0-9]+)/?$ /$1/view.htm?id=$2 [R,L] it works like a charm. But redirect is not what I need here :) . I suspect that the problem is that requests are forwarded to the another host (192.168.1.2), but I really don't have any idea on how to make it work. Any help would be appreciated :)
