  • Wifi and eth behavior

    I have a wireless router 150M Wireless Lite N Router Model No. TL-WR740N / TL-WR740ND. Normally, when I'm connected to the local network using eth0 I can ping other machines by issuing ping name. When I'm connected through wifi I have to issue ping name.domain.com. The machine is only visible in intranet. How to achieve the same behavior with wifi? The second problem is, that I can not connect to some external sites through wifi but through eth everything is ok. I guess that is related to some port forwarding, but I'm not sure. How can I resolve this issue? EDIT: I'm using Linux Mint.

  • Wifi network stopped being visible (and usable) (Linksys wag320n)

    Basically, my wifi network simply stopped working for no apparent reason. It doesn't appear in the list of the available networks anymore. I can see all my neighbors' networks, but not mine. It's as if it doesn't exist anymore. The internet connection (non-wifi), which goes through the same modem/router, is fine though. I already had a similar problem about one year ago (see here: Wifi network SSID not visible ), just after buying this very modem. I finally got it to work after performing two factory resets and getting rid of the Cisco "Magic" software; but this time it's not working. I use a linksys router-modem (WAG320N) which is directly connected (via network cable) to my desktop computer (Windows 7). I have (mainly) two devices that use the wifi network: my phone (Samsung Galaxy Nexus) and an Asus tablet (TF201, aka Transformer Prime). I also resurrected an old laptop computer (Dell, running Windows XP) to test that, and it doesn't see anything either (apart from the 20 other wifi networks, of course ^^). This wifi network was working just fine and has been for about a year. I haven't touched the modem settings so I have no idea what's causing the problem. I tried: making my phone "forget" about my network, hoping it would see it again after that: no luck. re-entering the network informations (SSID/password) manually on my phone: still no luck (says it's not in range) exporting the modem configuration, resetting the modem (factory reset, via modem admin), restarting it, importing the configuration: nope. factory reset, turning it off for 15 minutes, restarting, re-factory reset, and entering the configuration manually: still nothing. Has anybody experienced something similar before? Have you any suggestion to fix that? Thanks in advance.   • Disable a driver with a command

    I have a macbook running Windows on it (with bootcamp). I have external mouse to use, but touchpad remains enabled at the same time. So when I use keyboard, I always click on it and move mouse cursor. The first thing I did is I just disabled driver in devmgmt.msc. But sometimes it could be helpful to disable and enable the driver with AutoHotKey (mapping ^F12 key or whatever). So I just want to know, is there any way of enabling/disabling the driver with a command or registry? In order to be able to do that with AutoHotKey. Thanks.

  • Why does my Microsoft Habu force me to unplug and replug in when booting up?

    I'm not too sure why, but every single time I boot my computer, I have to unplug and replug my semi-new Microsoft Habu, when I use Windows 7. Why does it do this? I've been through my BIOS, msconfig, and what-not.. It just seems to happen all the time. I've even looked in forums, with people resorting to changing their mouse because of the same issue.. It's stupid. Hopefully someone else can help... hopefully someone with experience with this mouse.

    I'm sure this is possible but all my searching is coming up blank. In Java is it possible to register for a mouse motion event outside of a Java app? So if the mouse pointer moves anywhere on the screen I get a call back. An approximation is possible with polling MouseInfo.getPointerInfo but there must be a better way. Thanks

  • Drag and Drop from another application with mouse button down does not fire event

    I am trying to drag and drop a file onto a control in my application. The problem is that when you hold the mouse button down (i.e. dragging from widows explorer), my app does not fire any of the form events. They all work fine if the mouse is not down. Is appears that I need to enable the 'AllowDrop' for the application (it is enabled on the form) What am I missing? I am developing in vb.net 2008 in windows 7 environment

    When I call CaptureMouse() in response to a MouseDown from the middle mouse button, it will capture and then release the mouse. Huh? I've tried using Preview events, setting Handled=true, doesn't make a difference. Am I not understanding mouse capture in WPF?   • CTRL+mouse wheel in gvim (windows) not paging

    Hello, I'm loving vim, but one thing that's bugging me is that when I hold the control key and mouse wheel up or down, the window scrolls normally when the bindings are telling it to page up/down. I'm using the exact same vimrc file (and plugins) on one of my linux machines and the CTRL+mouse wheel does page up down (as opposed to just normally scrolling like in windows). Is there some way to force gvim to response to a ctrl+MouseUp/Down event? It seems to be ignoring it in windows ='[
