  • Help with starting up my thin server with Sinatra

    - by enedi
    Hi All, I'm a newcomer trying to get my feet wet with Ruby and Sinatra. I followed the Slicehost articles in getting Ruby 1.9.1 setup along with Thin 1.2.7 with a reverse proxy to Nginx. Most things were going pretty smooth until I tried to start up my thin server. This is the output I get from my logs: $ sudo thin -C config.yml -R config.ru start /home/user/public_html/testapp/config.ru:9:in `block in <main>': undefined method `application' for Sinatra:Module (NoMethodError) from /var/lib/gems/1.9.1/gems/rack-1.1.0/lib/rack/builder.rb:46:in `instance_eval' from /var/lib/gems/1.9.1/gems/rack-1.1.0/lib/rack/builder.rb:46:in `initialize' from /home/user/public_html/testapp/config.ru:1:in `new' from /home/user/public_html/testapp/config.ru:1:in `<main>' from /var/lib/gems/1.9.1/gems/thin-1.2.7/lib/rack/adapter/loader.rb:36:in `eval' from /var/lib/gems/1.9.1/gems/thin-1.2.7/lib/rack/adapter/loader.rb:36:in `load' from /var/lib/gems/1.9.1/gems/thin-1.2.7/lib/thin/controllers/controller.rb:175:in `load_rackup_config' from /var/lib/gems/1.9.1/gems/thin-1.2.7/lib/thin/controllers/controller.rb:65:in `start' from /var/lib/gems/1.9.1/gems/thin-1.2.7/lib/thin/runner.rb:177:in `run_command' from /var/lib/gems/1.9.1/gems/thin-1.2.7/lib/thin/runner.rb:143:in `run!' from /var/lib/gems/1.9.1/gems/thin-1.2.7/bin/thin:6:in `<top (required)>' from /usr/bin/thin:19:in `load' from /usr/bin/thin:19:in `<main>' I can post my config.yml, config.ru and myapp.rb, where my Sinatra code resides (it's basically the sample code ripped from the top of the Sinatra book), if anyone needs to see it, but if you have any ideas on what's going on based on that log itself, I'd appreciate it, as I couldn't find anything on the world wide Google. Also, is this still the preferred way of running Sinatra on thin? I can get the app working with just running it through Ruby itself: $ ruby myapp.rb == Sinatra/1.0 has taken the stage on 4567 for development with backup from Thin This allows me to see my pages in my sandbox. Thank you, all.

  • Python, SWIG and other strange things

    - by wanderameise
    hey, I have a firmware for an USB module I can already control by visual C. Now I want to port this to python. for this I need the octopus library which is written in c. I found a file called octopus_wrap which was created by SWIG! then I found a makefile which says: python2.5: swig -python -outdir ./ ../octopus.i gcc -fPIC -c ../../liboctopus/src/octopus.c gcc -fPIC -c ../octopus_wrap.c -I /usr/include/python2.5 gcc -fPIC -shared octopus_wrap.o octopus.o /usr/lib/libusb.so -o _octopus.so python2.4: swig -python -outdir ./ ../octopus.i gcc -fPIC -c ../../liboctopus/src/octopus.c gcc -fPIC -c ../octopus_wrap.c -I /usr/include/python2.4 gcc -fPIC -shared octopus_wrap.o octopus.o /usr/lib/libusb.so -o _octopus.so win: gcc -fPIC -c ../../liboctopus/src/octopus.c -I /c/Programme/libusb-win32-device-bin-0.1.10.1/include gcc -fPIC -c octopus_wrap.c -I /c/Python25/libs -lpython25 -I/c/Python25/include -I /c/Programme/libusb-win32-device-bin-0.1.10.1/include gcc -fPIC -shared *.o -o _octopus.pyd -L/c/Python25/libs -lpython25 -lusb -L/c/Programme/libusb-win32-device-bin-0.1.10.1/lib/gcc clean: rm -f octopus* _octopus* install_python2.4: cp _octopus.so /usr/local/lib/python2.4/site-packages/ cp octopus.py /usr/local/lib/python2.4/site-packages/ install_python2.5: cp _octopus.so /usr/local/lib/python2.5/site-packages/ cp octopus.py /usr/local/lib/python2.5/site-packages/ I dont know how to handle this but as far as I can see octopus.py and _octopus.so are the resulting output files which are relevant to python right? luckily someone already did that and so I put those 2 files to my "python26/lib" folder (hope it doesnt matter if it´s python 2.5 or 2.6?!) So when working with the USB device the octopus.py is the library to work with! Importing this file makes several problems: >>> Traceback (most recent call last): File "C:\Users\ameise\My Dropbox\µC\AVR\OCTOPUS\octopususb-0.5\demos\python \blink_status.py", line 8, in <module> from octopus import * File "C:\Python26\lib\octopus.py", line 7, in <module> import _octopus ImportError: DLL load failed: module not found. and here´s the related line 7 : import _octopus So there´s a problem considering the .so file! What could be my next step? I know that´s a lot of confusing stuff but I hope anyone of you could bring some light in my mind! thy in advance

  • .NET command line argument bug?

    - by Tomas
    Hello, I am trying to read command lien argument but it seems there is some kind of bug in .NET. Is this bug? regards, Tomas My code static void Main(string[] args) { Arguments CommandLine = new Arguments(args);

  • wget return downloaded filename

    - by Matthew
    I'm using wget in a php script and need to get the name of the file downloaded. For example, if I try <?php system('/usr/bin/wget -q --directory-prefix="./downloads/" http://www.google.com/'); ?> I will get a file called index.html in the downloads directory. The page will not always be google though, so I need to find out the name of the file that was downloaded. I'd like to have something like this: <?php //Does not work: $filename = system('/usr/bin/wget -q --directory-prefix="./downloads/" http://www.google.com/'); //$filename should contain "index.html" ?>

  • Innodb setting in xampp doesn't seem locate my.cnf file....

    - by bala3569
    I created a new mysql database and i want to use foreign keys with it... I googled and found out this... InnoDB is one of MySQL storage engines, it supports transactions, row-level locking, and foreign-keys. However, by default, InnoDB is not enabled by XAMPP. To enable it, locate the my.cnf configuration file (normally in C:/xampp/mysql/bin directory) and search for the following lines: # Comment the following if you are using InnoDB tables But the path C:/xampp/mysql/bin directory in my system doesn't seem to have such a file... Look at this image http://img691.imageshack.us/img691/524/mysqln.jpg Where is my.cnf file? Any suggestion...

  • Python 2.7 - Help using an API (HL7)

    - by atomicluis
    I am new to programming and Python. I have a very basic python script that connects to server and send a text message: #!/usr/bin/python import socket s = socket.socket() host = '127.0.0.1' port = 4106 s.connect((host, port)) message = 'test1' s.send(message) print s.recv(1024) s.close Everything is fine, except that this message is an HL7 message and needs to wrapped in MLLP I found this API that I think can do this for me (http://python-hl7.readthedocs.org/en/latest/api.html#mllp-network-client) So I modified my program to the following, but I keep getting the error message: NameError: name 'MLLPClient' is not defined #!/usr/bin/python import socket import hl7 host = '127.0.0.1' port = 4106 with MLLPClient(host, port) as client: client.send_message('test1') print s.recv(1024) s.close Thanks in advanced for all the help

  • Mouse wheel not scrolling in JDialog

    - by Iulian Serbanoiu
    Hello, I'm facing a frustrating issue. I have an application where the scroll wheel doesn't work in a JDialog class. Here's the code: import javax.swing.*; import java.awt.event.*; public class Failtest extends JFrame { public static void main(String[] args) { new Failtest(); } public Failtest() { super(); setDefaultCloseOperation(JFrame.DISPOSE_ON_CLOSE); setTitle("FRAME"); JScrollPane sp1 = new JScrollPane(getNewList()); add(sp1); setSize(150, 150); setVisible(true); JDialog d = new JDialog(this, false);// NOT WORKING //JDialog d = new JDialog((JFrame)null, false); // NOT WORKING //JDialog d = new JDialog((JDialog)null, false);// WORKING - WHY? d.setTitle("DIALOG"); d.setDefaultCloseOperation(JDialog.DISPOSE_ON_CLOSE); JScrollPane sp = new JScrollPane(getNewList()); d.add(sp); d.setSize(150, 150); d.setVisible(true); } public JList getNewList() { String objs[] = new String[30]; for(int i=0; i<objs.length; i++) { objs[i] = "Item "+i; } JList l = new JList(objs); return l; } } I found a solution which is present as a comment in the java code - the constructor receiving a (JDialog)null parameter. Can someone enlighten me? My opinion is that this is a java bug. Tested on Windows XP-SP3 with 1 JDK and 2 JREs: D:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_17\bin>javac -version javac 1.6.0_17 D:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_17\bin>java -version java version "1.6.0_17" Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_17-b04) Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 14.3-b01, mixed mode, sharing) D:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_17\bin>cd ..   • Why doesn't .NET find the OpenSSL.NET dll?

DONE In your .NET project, add a reference to the ManagedOpenSsl.dll assembly. DONE I have put libeay32.dll and ssleay32.dll in both my bin/Debug and bin/Release directories. I have also put them in system32. • Should I put my output files in source control?

    - by sebastiaan
    I've been asked to put every single file in my project under source control, including the database file (not the schema, the complete file). This seems wrong to me, but I can't explain it. Every resource I find about source control tells me not to put generated output files in a source control system. And I understand, it's not "source" files. However, I've been presented with the following reasoning: Who cares? We have plenty of bandwidth. I don't mind having to resolve a conflict each time I get the latest revision, it's just one click It's so much more convenient than having to think about good ignore files Also, if I have to add an external DLL file in the bin folder now, I can't forget to put it in source control, as the bin folder is not being ignored now. The simple solution for the last bullet-point is to add the file in a libraries folder and reference it from the project. Please explain if and why putting generated output files under source control is wrong.

  • Perl regex matching output from `w -hs` command

    - by Bushman
    I'm trying to write a Perl script that will work better with KDE's kwrited, which, as far as I can tell, is connected to a pts and puts every line it receives through the KDE system tray notifications, with the title "KDE write daemon". Unfortunately, it makes a separate notification for each and every line, so it spams up the system tray with multiline messages on regular old write, and for some reason it cuts off the entire last line of the message when using wall (One-line messages are also goners.). I was also hoping to make it so that it could broadcast across a LAN with thick clients. Before starting on that (which would require ssh, of course), I tried to make an ssh-less version to make sure it works. Unfortunately, it doesn't. perl ./write.pl "Testing 1 2 3" where the following is the contents of ./write.pl: #!/usr/bin/perl use strict; use warnings; my $message = ""; my $device = ""; my $possibledevice = '`w -hs | grep "/usr/bin/kwrited"`'; #Where is kwrited? $possibledevice =~ s/^[^\t][\t]//; $possibledevice =~ s/[\t][^\t][\t ]\/usr\/bin\/kwrited$//; $possibledevice = '/dev/'.$possibledevice; unless ($possibledevice eq "") { $device = $possibledevice; } if ($ARGV[0] ne "") { $message = $ARGV[0]; $device = $ARGV[1]; } else { $device = $ARGV[0] unless $ARGV[0] eq ""; while (<STDIN>) { chomp; $message .= <STDIN>; } } if ($message ne "") { system "echo \'$message\' > $device"; } else { print "Error: empty message" } produces the following error: $ perl write.pl "Testing 1 2 3" Use of uninitialized value $device in concatenation (.) or string at write.pl line 29. sh: -c: line 0: syntax error near unexpected token `newline' sh: -c: line 0: `echo 'foo' > ' Somehow, the regular expressions and/or the backtick escape in processing $possibledevice are not working properly, because where kwrited is connected to /dev/pts/0, the following works perfectly: $ perl write.pl "Testing 1 2 3" /dev/pts/0

  • "ResolveAssemblyReference" task fails and System.BadImageFormatException, but assembly isn't used an

    - by bdwakefield
    I am getting an error about the assembly "C:\Ora10g\bin\Zip.exe". The trouble is this solution does NOT use anything in Oracle at all. I could not find a single reference to 10g anywhere in the project. I inherited this from another person who left our group. He never had this issue. Another member of my team said he got this before but reinstalling the client portion of 10g fixed it. No such luck there. I even tried using WinGrep to search the entire solution folder for "Ora10g" but it wasn't there. Any ideas? I can't build this solution until I can figure out how to get rid of this false reference to Oracle. VS 2005 solution. Contains a couple WinForm apps, a couple class libraries, and a web service. The error occurs in the main class library project. Here is the error message: Error 1 The "ResolveAssemblyReference" task failed unexpectedly. • Batch file running on Vista problem

    - by maqsood
    Dear All , I have to generate keys from cWrsync, I have Command: "ssh-keygen -t rsa -q -N '' -f %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\.ssh\id_rsa" I placed that command into a batch file, that is pointing to cwRsync\bin directory, where ssh-keygen exe file is located, That batch file working fine Windows, But in Vista it is throwing unexpected result... the output of batch on Vista is: C:\Program Files\cwRsync\bin>ssh-keygen -t rsa -q -N '' -f C:\ProgramData\.ssh\i d_rsa open C:\\ProgramData\\.ssh\\id_rsa failed: Bad address. Saving the key failed: C:\ProgramData\.ssh\id_rsa. The intersting thing is that if i manually run this command in commandline , it again run successfully,
