• WPF - Binding a variable in an already bound ListBox?

  I really don't know how to title this question, but I need some help with binding to a ListBox. I have an object, that contains (among other information) 2 properties that need to be bound in one ListBox. One of these is an ObservableCollection of objects, called Layers, and the other property holds an enum value of either Point, Line or Polygon, called SpatialType. These are to act as a legend to a map application. I have bound Layers to a ListBox, no problem, but inside the ListBox.ItemTemplate, I need to bind the single variable SpatialType to every Item in the ListBox. The problem I'm running into is that when I try to bind while inside the ListBox, the only variables I have access to are the properties of each Layer and I can't access any properties of the original bound class that holds the Layers (and the needed SpatialType property). What can I do to get that piece of information bound inside the ItemTemplate without messing up a good MVVM architecture?

  Hi, i have little dilemma, i often use data-bound controls such as Gridview in conjunction with ObjectDataSource. But i have two possible options when can i bind data to Gridview. The first is that i set datasourceid of gridview in aspx file and databind occurs in a moment before PreRender event occurs or i can set datasource in Page_Load event and databinding occurs immediately, something like this: protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { if (!IsPostBack) { testGridView.DataSource = testObjectDataSource.Select(); testGridView.DataBind(); } } I think that in second approach i have more control above databinding. But how it is in real programming life? Which of the above two options is commonly used? Or is there some third option how can i bind data to data-bound control?   When my client application launchs, it binds the UDP port like this: this.BindPort(5001); The BindPort method implement blow: public void BindPort(int port) { m_listener = new Socket( AddressFamily.InterNetwork, SocketType.Dgram, ProtocolType.Udp ); IPEndPoint Point = new IPEndPoint( IPAddress.Any, Port ); m_listener.Bind( port); m_listener.BeginReceive( buff, 0, buff.Length, SocketFlags.None, new AsyncCallback( DataReceived ), buff ); } And when my server application commands client to bind to another UDP port(e.g. 5005). I call the same BindPort method in client. Then a exception occurs at DataReceived method. I think there must be a problem that I don't close the UDP port properly. But how can i close the UDP socket properly and rebind to another one. Thanks.

It's ok to accept. So addListener will hold a function body containing 'apply'. But what I don't understand, when addListener is called, what kind of parameters it is going to have? particularly _method and args will always be uninitialized?

  There is currently this Prototype code that does a PUT: new Ajax.Request(someUrl, { method: 'put', parameters: { 'foo': bar }, onSuccess: function(response) { } .bind(this) }); I found this post but the solution uses an extra parameter supported by RoR, however I am targeting an ASP.NET backend. I searched a bit and found that not all browsers support PUT operations so apparently this could fail in certain browsers? This is already in prod, so a direct port would be fine for now I suppose. As an aside, what is the deal with the bind(this) in the onSuccess function?

  let say I have a parent element which has so many nested child elements inside of itself: <div id="p"> <div id="c1"> <div id="c2"></div> <div id="c3"></div> </div id="c4"> <div id="c5"></div> </div> </div> I've already bind a click event on the parent: $('#p').bind('click', function() { alert($(this).attr('id')); }); Because the event is assigned to the parent element, I always see the parent id, however, I'm wondering if there is any possible way to find out which of this child elements has been clicked? I also can't assign any event to the child elements or remove the event listener from parent div.

If I have a class, something like this public class Data { public int a { get; set; } public int b { get; set; } } public class RequestViewData { public IList<Data> MyData { get; set; } } I thought I could bind the MVC route to a web request like this http://localhost:8080/Request?MyData[0].a=1&MyData[0].b=2&MyData[1].a=3&[MyData[1].b=4 But all this does is create an array of two data objects without populating the values 1,2, 3 or 4. Is there a way to bind complex objects arrays?

• Monitoring UDP socket in glib(mm) eats up CPU time

  Hi, I have a GTKmm Windows application (built with MinGW) that receives UDP packets (no sending). The socket is native winsock and I use glibmm IOChannel to connect it to the application main loop. The socket is read with recvfrom. My problem is: this setup eats 25% percent CPU time on a 3GHz workstation. Can somebody tell me why? The application is idle in this case, and if I remove the UDP code, CPU usage drops down to almost zero. Does this explain the CPU effect, it's not clear to me? Whether or not I use glib to access the socket or call recvfrom() directly doesn't seem to make much difference, since CPU is used up before any packet arrives and the read handler gets invoked. Also glibmm docs state that it's ok to call recvfrom() even if the socket is polled (Glib::IOChannel::create_from_win32_socket()) I've tried compiling the program with -pg and created a per function cpu usage report with gprof. This wasn't usefull because the time is not spent in my program, but in some external glib/glibmm dll.

• jQuery Tablesorter - disabled headers show progress bar, sortEnd never triggered

  I'm combining Tablesorter's 'disable headers using options' function and the 'trigger sortStart / sortEnd' function and have run into an issue. • How do I process a jQuery SVG group event in a single handler?

  I'm trying to draw a button using jQuery SVG, the button is a filled rect and the text is placed on top of the rect. Rect and text are grouped and I want to control the mouseover/mouseout events. The problem is: mouseover/mouseout events are triggered separately for every element of the group. Is it possible to make a single event handler for entire group? • ComboBox WPF Databinding to a DataView

  Hello Everyone! Lets say I have one ComboBox and 2 TextBox items on my GUI. And I have one DataView with data (City, PostalCode, Street, ID). While initializing the whole thing I fill my DataView with some data :) City 1, 11111, Street 1, 1 City 1, 22222, Street 2, 2 City 1, 33333, Street 3, 3 Now I want to bind this to my ComboBox. DataView is a Class Member called "m_dvAdresses", but this code doesnt help: ItemsSource="{Binding Source=m_dvAdresses}" SelectedValuePath="ID" DisplayMemberPath="Street" Also I want to have my 2 ComboBox items to show PostalCode and City, depending on what to i pick in my ComboBox. Like if I pick "Street 2", TextBox1 show me "City 1" and TexBox2 show me "22222"... How can I bind all of them ONLY in the WPF code? Thanks for help!!!!!!!!!!! :)

  If I have an object graph like this: class Company { public Address MainAddress {...} } class Address { public string City { ... } } Company c = new Company(); c.MainAddress = new Address(); c.MainAddress.City = "Stockholm"; and databind to a control using: textBox1.DataBinding.Add( "Text", c, "MainAddress.City" ); Everything is fine, but If I bind to: Company c2 = new Company(); c2 using the same syntax it crashes since the MainAddress property is null. I wonder if there is a custom Binding class that can set up listeners for all the possible paths here and bind to the actual object dynamically when/if I sometime later in the application set the MainAddress property.

• any way to get sharepoint groups with a given site url

  Hi all. I'm getting a stuck. Suppose that I create 5 sites. For each one, I create a few sharepoint groups. So, I create a dropdownlist control to bind 5 sites and when I click on any site there, I will get sharepoint groups created on it. But I always see the dropdownlist used to bind these groups still never change. I mean it only binds a few default groups in sahrepoint everytime. The new created groups is not. And I have confusion like this web.AssociatedGroups web.Groups web.SiteGroups which one we will use this case ? • Using now() in a <asp:textbox>

  Can anyone help. I am using a formview in VS 2005. I have different elements in my form databound to a database and I am performing an INSERT SQL statement. No problem. The problem is that I am trying to enter the current date into the SQL statement and I am having a problem. I can add <%now()% to the "Text" property of the asp:Textbox. But when I do, then I can't bind the textbox to a specific database column. How do I do both???? I can do this: <asp:TextBox ID="TextBox2" runat="server" Text='<%# Bind("Initiate_Date") %>' ></asp:TextBox> Or this: <asp:TextBox ID="TextBox2" runat="server" Text='<%# now() %>' ></asp:TextBox> But I don't know how to do both.

• port binding "problem" with Eclipse, Java, & Windows

  Hi All, I use eclipse to develop a web based java application. My normal course of business is grab the next task tracking ticket. If there is a problem that needs to correcting, I run the application locally, which loads of a Jetty webserver, and binds to port 8080. After verifying the problem, I fix the problem, rebuild, and the re-run the application. The problem is, I far too often forget to close the jetty server before re-running. This generates the Java bind error: WARNING: failed [email protected]:8080: java.net.BindException: Address already in use: JVM_Bind I work in Windows, and was looking to see if there is command I could run to un-bind the port, but couldn't find an answer there. Does anyone here have a good idea of how to fix my problem, other than remember to shut down the old jetty instance before starting a new one? Thanks, Jay

• jQuery event fires on doc ready

  I am trying to set the click event of a button on my form and for some reason I am getting weird behavior. When I bind the click event to a function that takes no arguments, things seem to work fine. But when I bind the event with a function that takes an argument, the event fires on document ready and on click. Any ideas? • Active Directory on local server and intranet on external server.

  I have a local Active Directory server and a external web server where my intranet is located. $ad = ldap_connect("ldap://ip-address") or die("Couldn't connect to AD!"); ldap_set_option($ad, LDAP_OPT_PROTOCOL_VERSION, 3); $bd = ldap_bind( $ad, "user@domain", "password") or die("Can't bind to server."); When I run this on a local web server it succesfully binds the connection. If I run the same code on the external server its unable to bind the ldap connection. Both port 389 and 636 is open on the AD server. I've tried google for an answer, but all the tutorials is for Active Directory and webserver on the same server. Is this even possible?
