  • Forms authentication failed for the request. Reason: The ticket supplied has expired.

    - by Max Toro
My event log is flooded with this message: Forms authentication failed for the request. Reason: The ticket supplied has expired. I think this happens when people timeout instead of logout. First of all , this is not an error, it's Type: Information I don't want this information, how do I stop ASP.NET from logging it? My application is not web-farmed, and uses a static machine key.

  • How to display static (shared) object's properties via a Forms PropertyGrid?

    - by Paul Sasik
I would like to display static (shared) objects at runtime in a PropertyGrid but if I try to set the selected object property of the grid like this: _propertyGrid.SelectedObject = System.Windows.Forms.Application I get this compilation error: 'Application' is a type and cannot be used as an expression. Is there a way to display a static (shared) object or the object's properties in the PropertyGrid?

  • How do I detect if a System.Windows.Forms.Label with AutoEllipsis is actually displaying ellipsis?

    - by SchlaWiener
I have a Windows Forms Application where I display some client data in a Label. I have set label.AutoEllipsis = true. If the text is longer than the label, it looks like this: Some Text Some longe... // label.Text is actually "Some longer Text" // Full text is displayed in a tooltip which is what I want. But now I want to know if the label makes use of the AutoEllipsis feature at runtime. How do I achive that?

  • Why do browsers use my saved password for all forms in the one site?

    - by user313272
Is there a way to limit the url of saved credentials in browsers? For example, if I save a username and password for http://www.website.com/login can I make it so that the rest of the forms in the site don't use these details? http://www.website.com/members, http://www.website.com/admin etc... I'm aware of the autocomplete attribute but I don't want to turn off autocomplete entirely. I would like it if the browser remembered the login details per form or url.

  • When are response headers created in ASP.NET web forms?

    - by Jones
I read somewhere the you can't remove response headers once they've been added. Given that, I'm wondering where in a standard ASP.NET web forms application do response headers get added initially. For example, these: Date Fri, 23 Apr 2010 16:25:56 GMT Server Microsoft-IIS/6.0 X-Powered-By ASP.NET Cache-Control private And can I stop it from happening? Do subsequent headers override old headers? Does my question even make sense? Thanks.

  • MS Access 2003 - Is there a way to run access (mde) without the access shell around the forms/report

    - by Justin
So I am not sure if I am asking this correctly; let me explain: IS there a way I can run my MDE without the access shell around the forms/reports? The part that provides the menu, and the little application title. I think it is the overall presentation layer form that all my access stuff sits on, but I am not sure. I am just wondering if you can get rid of it. Thanks

  • How do I integrate a new MVC C# Project with an existing Web Forms VB.NET Web Application Project?

    - by Jordan Rieger
We have a corporate website with a large amount of dynamic business application pages (e.g. Shopping Cart, Helpdesk, Product/Service management, Reporting, etc.) The site was built as an ASP.Net Web Application Project (WAP). Our systems have evolved over the years to use .NET 4.5 and various custom business logic DLLs (written in a mix of C# and VB.NET). However, the site itself is still using VB.NET Web Forms. We now have done a few side projects in MVC 4 using Razor/C#, and we want to use this framework for new pages on the main corporate site going forward. What would be the easiest way to achieve this? I found this nice list of steps to integrate MVC 4 into an existing Web Forms app. The problem is that because our existing app is a VB.NET WAP, it compiles into a single DLL, and .NET allows only one language per DLL. The site is way too big for us to contemplate converting it to C# all at once (yes, I've looked at the conversion tools, and they're good, but even 99% accuracy would leave us a huge amount of cleanup work.) I thought about converting the existing WAP into a Web Site Project (WSP) which does allow mixing languages and then following the steps above, but after a few pages of Google results, I couldn't find any steps for converting a WAP to WSP. (Plenty of sites offer the reverse steps: converting a WSP to a WAP.) Another idea I had was to create a completely separate MVC project, and then somehow squish them together into the same folder structure, where they would share the bin folder but compile to separate DLL's. I have no idea if this is possible, because certain files would collide (e.g. Global.asax, web.config, etc.) Finally, I can imagine a compromise solution where we keep all the MVC stuff in its own separate application under a subfolder of the main solution. We already use our own custom session state solution, so it wouldn't be difficult to pass data between the old site to the new pages. Which of the ideas above do you think makes the most sense for us? Is there another solution that I'm missing?

  • How can I remove the current cell focus from A Windows Forms datagridview ?

    - by Kottan
How can I remove the current cell focus from a Windows Forms datagridview ? I have a dialog with some datagridforms and initially I don't want to have a cell selection. Actually in every gridview the cell [1,1] is selected I have already searched in some forums, but the provided solutions doesn't work. For example often it is recommended to set CurrentCell = null -- but this has no effect. Has anybody another solution, which really works ;-) ?

  • Is there a WPF equaivalent to System.Windows.Forms.Screen?

    - by dkackman
I'm trying to create a WPF window that will encompass the entire Desktop working area. In WinForms I'd do this by getting the Union of all the bounds in System.Windows.Forms.Screen.AllScreens. Is there an equivalent type or other mechanism to get the bounds of the entire desktop in WPF or do I need to use the WinForms type?

  • What is Best way to obtain filename for HTML FILE Uploading on forms?

    - by CitadelCSAlum
I need to obtain the String for the file that is being uploaded from forms to store in the database. I am using the usual form input file element input type="file" name="some_name" I found a couple JS scripts that allow me to do useless things like display the string in a dialog box, etc. I need this as an element on the request object or as a hidden field on my page when the form is posted.

  • Access Services in SharePoint Server 2010

    - by Wayne
Another SharePoint Server 2010 feature which cannot go unnoticed is the Access Services. Access Services is a service in SharePoint Server 2010 that allows administrators to view, edit, and configure a Microsoft access application within a Web Browser. Access Services settings support backup and recovery, regardless of whether there is a UI setting in Central Administration. However, backup and recovery only apply to service-level and administrative-level settings; end-user content from the Access application is not backed up as part of this process. Access Services has Windows PowerShell functionality that can be used to provide the service that uses settings from a previous backup; configure and manage macro and query setting; manage and configure session management; and configure all the global settings of the service. Key Benefits of SharePoint Server Access Services Easier Access to right tools: The enhanced, customizable Ribbon in Access 2010 makes it easy to uncover more commands so you can focus on the end product. The new Microsoft Office BackstageTM view is yet another feature that can help you easily analyze and document your database, share, publish, and customize your Access 2010 experience, all from one convenient location. Helps build database effortlessly and quickly: Out-of-the box templates and reusable components make Access Services the fastest, simplest database solution available. It helps find new pre-built templates which you can start using without customization or select templates created by your peers in the Access online community and customize them to meet your needs. It builds your databases with new modular components. New Application Parts enable you to add a set of common Access components, such as a table and form for task management, to your database in a few simple clicks. Database navigation is now simplified. It creates Navigation Forms and makes your frequently used forms and reports more accessible without writing any code or logic. Create Impactful forms and reports: Whether it's an inventory of your assets or customer sales database, Access 2010 brings the innovative tools you'd expect from Microsoft Office. Access Services easily spot trends and add emphasis to your data. It quickly create coordinating database forms and reports and bring the Web into your database. The enhanced Expression Builder greatly simplifies your expression building experience with IntelliSense®. With the revamped Macro Designer, it's now even easier for you to add basic logic to your database. New Data Macros allow you to attach logic to your data, centralizing the logic on the table, not the objects that update your data. Key features of Access Services 2010 - Access database content through a Web browser: Newly added Access Services on Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 enables you to make your databases available on the Web with new Web databases. Users without an Access client can open Web forms and reports via a browser and changes are automatically synchronized. - Simplify how you access the features you need: The Ribbon, improved in Access 2010, helps you access commands even more quickly by enabling you to customize or create your own tabs. The new Microsoft Office Backstage view replaces the traditional File menu to provide one central, organized location for all of your document management tasks. - Codeless navigation: Use professional looking web-like navigation forms to make frequently used forms and reports more accessible without writing any code or logic. - Easily reuse Access items in other databases: Use Application Parts to add pre-built Access components for common tasks to your database in a few simple clicks.
