How can I user jQuery to separate multiple words in a td with an HTML tag such as <br/>?
For example, <td>hello bye</td> would become <td>hello <br/> bye</td>.
What I have to work with:
An html table 5X7. On many queries, there are less that 35 items filling the complete table.
How can I "hide" the empty cells dynamically in this case, using jQuery (or any other efficient way)?
Thank you.
I usually add the clear form button to HTML forms by default, but tonight I had what alcholics call a "moment of clarity". Why the hell do we add this? In all my years of using the internet I have never gotten to the end of the form and thought "crap!, I screwed up, I need to reset this!". Is this button actually necessary or a hold over from another time?
I know some people use ANT to accomplish this, but I don't want to remove HTML comments from the actual jsp, I just want a way to strip them from output unless a users adds a parameter to the url to show the comments for debugging.
I'm a coding a JavaScript reporting component, that requires multiple LI's i.e. lists to be selected collectively as a bunch with visual feedback.
I'm thinking of adapting the onfocus event. Is it possible for multiple HTML elements to receive focus at the same time?
I've looked at free javascript html editors, and I haven't found any that I feel handle links intuitively. I like the way the gmail editor does it (also the same way blogger.com) does it.
Does anyone know if there is an open source editor that handles linking that way? Jquery would be preferable.
Where can I test HTML 5 functionality today - is there any test build of any rendering engines which would allow testing, or is it to early? I'm aware that much of the spec hasn't been finalised, but some has, and it would be good to try it out!
HTML Tidy has this infuriating habit of putting a newline before the closing tag. For example:
<p>Some text</p>
becomes
<p>Some text
</p>
How do I tell Tidy to keep the closing tag on the same line as the end of the content?
I have a Rails app (blog) that I am creating. Very basic stuff. In my content area I have a text area for the content of the post. I am needing to include some html in the text area (links, formating, etc).
<%= f.text_area :content %>
Is there another tag that I can use instead of text_area, that will allow me to do this?
If I load an html fragment that contains images with jquery's .load(), the images aren't yet loaded when my callback is called. Since I need to do some calculations based on the dimensions of the images, I need to know when they've actually been loaded. Is there a nice way to do this?
I have directory with 1000 .html files, and would like to check all of them for bad links - preferably using console. Any tool you can recommend for such task?
Could you please give me some suggestions on how to parse HTML in Perl? I plan to parse the keywords(including URL links) and save them to a MySQL database. I am using Windows XP.
Also, do I first need to download some website pages to the local hard drive with some offline Explorer tool? If I do, could you point me to a good download tool?
I've seen developers use various methods to prevent spam on a basic html contact form
Method 1 is where the developer uses a Captcha image and Method 2 where only a Question is asked eg. Are you Human? with a radio button.
Which one is the better one to use and why?
I would like to create an HTML button that acts like a link. So, when you click the button, it redirects to a page. I would like it to be as accessible as possible. I would also like it so there aren't any extra characters, or params in the URL.
How can I achieve this?
Hi all,
In my app I need to lay some text which I'm getting from a parsed data. Currently I'm currently laying it in a label. The problem is there are going to be some html tags indicating an image [along with its url] and videos etc in that plaintext. What is a good way to handle this identifying images and videos tags and laying corresponding images and videos along with rest of the plaintext dynamically?
Thanx in advance.
Hi,
I'm sending mails thanks to the MFMailComposeViewController API, and I manage to add uiimages in attachment, but I'd like to insert my uiimage into html code in my e-mail, any idea of what kind of conversion I should use for my image ?
Thanks.
I'm building an autosuggest search, like apple's spotlight... and want to disable the browser from offering text suggestions under the input box. I can't remember if that's an html or css setting and can't find it.
Anyone remember?
hi all
what basic tips should we observe in design web pages(html/css/javascript) for having highest compatibility with most browsers(IE-firefox-opera-chrome-safari)?
thanks
Are there any browser issues with always collapsing empty tags in html.
So for example and empty head can be written like this
<head></head>
but is can also be written like this
<head/>
Will the second case cause issues in any scenerio?
Thanks
