  • Performance of a proposed JEE architecture

    I have concerns about the performance of the following architecture: j2ee application in an appserver, ejb session bean and DAOs remote (rich) client, a swing app. A classic, form-based client only one stateless ejb, the ejb is accessed via web services, not rmi, through a homegrown framework each web service request will get authenticated against an LDAP no state stored on the server, only client-side sessions I guess working on the rich GUI will involve a remote call in every 2-10 seconds, or more, per user. What do you think?

Further more the use of parameter is for the purposes of writing reporting services reports.

Companies such as RealQuest offer reports as a subscription service, but I'm looking to download the raw data, preferably in XML format (I don't want to parse the output since the presentation could change without notice).     Hello, I am just studying the code of Sacha Barbers MVVM framework Chinch and I saw this in the xxxViewModel.cs file: DataService.FetchAllOrders(CurrentCustomer.CustomerId.DataValue); DataService is a Static class. Being a junior dev I am only used to Interfaces with Data services. Why is that class static? Or do you think he made it just for the example? So is that a good approach?

    I just created a web service client using axis and eclipse that does not work with my web service provider. I've tried many combinations on the process but my web service, wsdl and xml knowledge is very limited. The provider says that they can't help beyond telling me this. Any ideas? Perhaps a different framework that I can use to create the correct client.

What is the best way to do this? I'm new to web services and am confused by all the soap, wsdl etc. and have also heard a lot that it'll be a pain to get the two to communicate. Your thoughts?

  • CICS web service requestor GET CONTAINER returns neither data nor error

    I am developing a CICS web service requestor application to consume a distributed web service. I used the web services assistant DFHWS2LS to transform the wsdl to copybooks successfully. I have no problem issuing the PUT CONTAINER and INVOKE SERVICE api commands, but when I issue GET CONTAINER I am not receiving any containers or data. No response codes or error messages, but no data. Any ideas on how to debug this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,
