    I have a table named with "Sales" having the following columns: Sales_ID|Product_Code|Zone|District|State|Distributor|Total_Sales Now i want to generate a sales summary to view the total sales by zone and then by district and then by State by which distributor for the last/past month period. How can i write a Sql Statement to do this? Can anyone help me Plz. Thanks in advance. And i have another question that, how can i select the second largest or third largest values from any column of a table.

  • UITableView: Handle cell selection in a mixed cell table view static and dynamic cells

    I am trying to mix dynamic and static cells in a grouped table view: I would like to get two sections with static cells at the top followed by a section of dynamic cells (please refer to the screenshot below). I have set the table view contents to static cells. Edit II I have recreated my scene in storyboard (please refer to my updated screen shot above) and rewritten the view controller in order to start from a new base. I have also read the description in Apple's forum as applefreak suggested. When I use [[super tableView] selectRowAtIndexPath:indexPath animated:NO scrollPosition:UITableViewScrollPositionNone] and try to check for the selected index paths with: UITableView *tableView = [super tableView]; if ( [[tableView indexPathForSelectedRow] isEqual:customGrowthIndexPath] ) { .. } I get an return value of nil.     Hi: I have three tables: Suppliers, Parts and Types. I need to join all of them while discriminating columns with the same name (say, "id") in the three tables. I would like to successfully run this query: CREATE VIEW Everything AS SELECT Suppliers.name as supplier, Parts.id, Parts.description, Types.typedesc as type FROM Suppliers JOIN (Parts JOIN Types ON Parts.type_id = Types.id) ON Suppliers.id = Parts.supplier_id; My DBMS (sqlite) complains that "there is not such a column (Parts.id)". I guess it forgets table names once the JOIN is done but then how can I refer to the column id that belongs to the table Parts?

    I have a database table. There is a field name "Sequence" that indicate sequence when user presents the rows in report or grid visually. When the rows are retrieved and presented in a grid, there are few UI gadget that allow user to reorder the rows arbitrary. The new sequence will be persist in database table when user commit the changes. Here are some UI operations: Move to first Move to last Move up 1 row Move down 1 row multi-select rows and move up or down multi-select rows and drag to new position For operation like "Move to first" or "Move to Last", it usually involve many rows and the sequence those rows would need to be updated accordingly. This may not be efficient enough at runtime. It is a common practice to use INTEGER as sequence's data type. Other solution is using "DOUBLE" or "FLOAT" that could overcome the mass update of row sequence but we will face problem if we reach the limit of precision.

    Hello, I cannot put jChceckBox to jTable cell. More likely I can put checkBox to table, but when I run module with that table, the cell where should be checkBox shows text "true" or "false". The behaviors of that cell are the same like checkbox, but it shows text value instead of checkbox. Here is the code. Therefore TableA has a one-to-many relationship with TableB. So this must be a correctly order: 1 A (null) 3 A2 1 4 A3 1 2 B (null) A normal SELECT order the id. But how or which keyword help me to order this correctly? JOIN isn't possible I think because I want to get all the rows seperated. Because the rows will be displayed on a Gridview (ASP.Net) with EntityDataSource but the child rows must be displayed directly under his parent. Thank you.

    I have a table with two columns, GroupId and ParentId (both are GUIDS). The table forms a hierarchy so I can look for a value in the “GroupId” filed, when I have found it I can look at its ParentId. This ParentId will also appear in the GroupId of a different record. I can use this to walk up the hierarchy tree from any point to the root (root is an empty GUID). What I’d like to do is get a list of records when I know a GroupId. This would be the record with the GroupId and all the parents back to the root record. Is this possible with Linq and if so, can anyone provide a code snippet?

  • iphone sdk: Table view not working in the first 5 tabs but in the more view

    Hi, I only started with sdk but this problem is bugging me now for a view days: I created a UITableView and added it to my Tabs. When this TableView is in the first 4 Tabs and u go look at it, it only shows the items on the table but when clicking on them nothing happens (it doesn't go to the next view). BUT when i put this same tab behind the 5th so it goes in the automatic MORE view everything works fine. I'm assuming this is because this more view is implementing some kind of table class. But i can't figure it out. I compared all the files with a working example but it seems to be all the same. ah ya my current project is a window based application. Though i copied most of the code from a navigation based application. Any ideas?

    I have an application in which I'm currently using a two column table in order to get accurate cell alignment of the left column labels/descriptions with the right column form fields. I'd like to convert it to css and use jQuery to expand/collapse specific sections. I've seen some jQuery libraries, the menu.js in particular. And they appear to all use list items for the markup. I'm OK with converting my table to UL/LI structure if that's what I need to do. Just looking for some advice.

I think the best way to do this is to use a pivot table, which I am no expert in. I realize I could produce theses results by using several SELECT commands instead.     I need to store some data that follows the simple pattern of mapping an "id" to a full table (with multiple rows) of several columns (i.e. some integer values [u, v, w]). The size of one of these tables would be a couple of KB. Basically what I need is to store a persistent cache of some intermediary results. This could quite easily be implemented as simple sql, but there's a couple of problems, namely I need to compress the size of this structure on disk as much as possible. (because of amount of values I'm storing) Also, it's not transactional, I just need to write once and simply read the contents of the entire table, so a relational DB isn't actually a very good fit. I was wondering if anyone had any good suggestions? For some reason I can't seem to come up with something decent atm. Especially something with an API in java would be nice.

    Hi everyone, I know naming conventions for tables used by plugins generally start with the name of the plugin and then the model pluralized. For example lets say I had a plugin called Poll, with a model also called PollPoll and another model called PollTag then the resulting table names would be poll_polls and poll_tags. They would also have a habtm relationship so what is the convention for that table name? I believe it would poll_poll_polls_poll_tags, although it is a little redundant it makes sense since the first poll_ represents the name of the plugin, while poll_polls and poll_tags relates to the models. Also have any naming conventions changed for plugins in 1.3? Is the above stated correct? Thanks!

  • Maintaining sort order of database table rows

    Say I have at database table containing information about a news article in each row. The table has an integer "sort" column to dictate the order in which the articles are to be presented on a web site. How do I best implement and maintain this sort order. The problem I want to avoid is having the the articles numbered 1,2,3,4,..,100 and when article number 50 suddenly becomes interesting it gets its sort number set to 1 and then all articles between them must have their sort number increased by one. Sure, setting initial sort numbers to 100,200,300,400 etc. leaves some space for moving around but at some point it will break. Is there a correct way to do this, maybe a completely different approach? Added-1: All article titles are shown in a list linking to the contents, so yes all sorted items are show at once. Added-2: An item is not necessarily moved to the top of the list; any item can be placed anywhere in the ordered list.
