  • Hibernate saveOrUpdate problem on char data type

    - by Yashwant Chavan
    Hi I am using Hibernate 3.0 , facing issue related to the char datatype field. I am trying to save Client pojo in the database, using following method. Problem is my client_id field is char(10) in the database. when client_id is 10 characters it works fine. but when client_id is less than ten characters it gives problem at the time of update. Rather than updating data it try to insert cleint record again and gives the unquie key exeception. i drill down the problem because of char(10) client_id field. it keeps space after client_id value upto 10 characters. Is there is any confuguration to overcome this problem. rather than modifying client_id to varchar2. public boolean saveClient(Clnt client) { boolean lReturnValue = false; SessionFactory sessionFactory = null; Session session = null; Transaction transaction = null; try { HibernateTemplate hibernateTemplate = getHibernateTemplate(); sessionFactory = hibernateTemplate.getSessionFactory(); session = sessionFactory.getCurrentSession(); transaction = session.beginTransaction(); session.saveOrUpdate(client); transaction.commit(); lReturnValue = true; } catch (HibernateException e) { lReturnValue = false; // TODO Auto-generated catch block if (transaction != null) { transaction.rollback(); } e.printStackTrace(); } return lReturnValue; }

  • Testing variable types in Python

    - by Jasper
    Hello, I'm creating an initialising function for the class 'Room', and found that the program wouldn't accept the tests I was doing on the input variables. Why is this? def __init__(self, code, name, type, size, description, objects, exits): self.code = code self.name = name self.type = type self.size = size self.description = description self.objects = objects self.exits = exits #Check for input errors: if type(self.code) != type(str()): print 'Error found in module rooms.py!' print 'Error number: 110' elif type(self.name) != type(str()): print 'Error found in module rooms.py!' print 'Error number: 111' elif type(self.type) != type(str()): print 'Error found in module rooms.py!' print 'Error number: 112' elif type(self.size) != type(int()): print 'Error found in module rooms.py!' print 'Error number: 113' elif type(self.description) != type(str()): print 'Error found in module rooms.py!' print 'Error number: 114' elif type(self.objects) != type(list()): print 'Error found in module rooms.py!' print 'Error number: 115' elif type(self.exits) != type(tuple()): print 'Error found in module rooms.py!' print 'Error number: 116' When I run this I get this error: Traceback (most recent call last): File "/Users/Jasper/Development/Programming/MyProjects/Game Making Challenge/Europa I/rooms.py", line 148, in <module> myRoom = Room(101, 'myRoom', 'Basic Room', 5, '<insert description>', myObjects, myExits) File "/Users/Jasper/Development/Programming/MyProjects/Game Making Challenge/Europa I/rooms.py", line 29, in __init__ if type(self.code) != type(str()): TypeError: 'str' object is not callable

  • Sort MySQL result set using comparison between 2 columns of same value type

    - by Kyobul
    Hello, I have a table containing last_updated_1 and last_updated_2 columns, used respectively for text and images update time on a post. I wish I could get a result set of 10 rows based on all time last updated records contained in the 2 columns, ex. row 1 = last_updated_1 record, row 2 = last_updated_2 record, row 3 = last_updated_1 record, etc. How could I compare inside a MySQL query the both columns values, to get unique & mixed result set ? Thank you in advance for your help

  • Error : The Type Initializer of Daemon.Global threw an exception in c#

    - by srk
    I am using the below class file, where some variables are declared to use in the entire application. Now I used that variable BlockLogOut in another class file to make the value true. I just put this below line and getting error in it.. TypeInitializationException Global.BlockLogOut = True; The weird thing is, it was working fine for many months and i am getting this error now on the above line. Of course i was modifying some other stuffs in the application, but surely not this class file. What would have been the problem? namespace Daemon { class Global { public static bool BlockLogOut = false; } }

  • c++ template and its element type

    - by David
    This is my template matrix class: template<typename T> class Matrix { public: .... Matrix<T> operator / (const T &num); } However, in my Pixel class, I didn't define the Pixel/Pixel operator at all! Why in this case, the compiler still compiles?

  • C++: How to require that one template type is derived from the other

    - by Will
    In a comparison operator: template<class R1, class R2> bool operator==(Manager<R1> m1, Manager<R2> m2) { return m1.internal_field == m2.internal_field; } Is there any way I could enforce that R1 and R2 must have a supertype or subtype relation? That is, I'd like to allow either R1 to be derived from R2, or R2 to be derived from R1, but disallow the comparison if R1 and R2 are unrelated types.

  • Search for all instances of certain annotation type

    - by user1064918
    Suppose I have this annotation @Retention(RetentionPolicy.RUNTIME) @Target(ElementType.FIELD) public @interface Name { String value(); } This is going to be used as follows @Name("name1") public static Foo foo = new Foo(); I have multiples of these across my project source files. Is there an fairly simple way to search and collect all those "foo"s that're preceded by @Name? In other words, I'd like to write a method that would return a Set<Foo> containing these. Thanks!!!

  • Change find() type of contained model or array transformation

    - by Ramon Marco Navarro
    I have the following model associations: Response->Survey Response->Question Response->Choice Survey->Question Question->Choice I want to create a form where I could answer all the questions for one survey. So I used the following to return the needed data: $questions = $this->Response->Question->find('all', array( 'conditions' => array('survey_id' => $id), 'contain' => array('Choice') ) ); Sample output for debug($questions). Questions Is there a contain() option so that an associated model returns in the find('list') format so that I could use: foreach($question as $questions) { $this-Form-select('field_name', $question['Choice']); } If no option is available, how could I do this using PHP's builting array methods? PS: The foreach block won't turn into a code block. If someone could edit and fix it, please do so and delete this line. Thank you.

  • Map a property in the entity framework to a different type

    - by Tom
    I have a SQL Server 2008 database. I have a bunch of fields in TableA that are just strings that corresponds to booleans. So every value is either true or false. The edmx I generated using Entity Framework 4.0 has them as strings. This is technically correct but I would like to have them mapped as Booleans instead. Is this possible? If so how can I accomplish this? Thanks much!

  • boost::function & boost::lambda - call site invocation & accessing _1 and _2 as the type

    - by John Dibling
    Sorry for the confusing title. Let me explain via code: #include <string> #include <boost\function.hpp> #include <boost\lambda\lambda.hpp> #include <iostream> int main() { using namespace boost::lambda; boost::function<std::string(std::string, std::string)> f = _1.append(_2); std::string s = f("Hello", "There"); std::cout << s; return 0; } I'm trying to use function to create a function that uses the labda expressions to create a new return value, and invoke that function at the call site, s = f("Hello", "There"); When I compile this, I get: 1>------ Build started: Project: hacks, Configuration: Debug x64 ------ 1>Compiling... 1>main.cpp 1>.\main.cpp(11) : error C2039: 'append' : is not a member of 'boost::lambda::lambda_functor<T>' 1> with 1> [ 1> T=boost::lambda::placeholder<1> 1> ] Using MSVC 9. My fundamental understanding of function and lambdas may be lacking. The tutorials and docs did not help so far this morning. How do I do what I'm trying to do?

  • C# determining generic type

    - by Chris Klepeis
    I have several templated objects that all implement the same interface: I.E. MyObject<datatype1> obj1; MyObject<datatype2> obj2; MyObject<datatype3> obj3; I want to store these objects in a List... I think I would do that like this: private List<MyObject<object>> _myList; I then want to create a function that takes 1 parameter, being a datatype, to see if an object using that datatype exists in my list.... sorta clueless how to go about this. In Pseudo code it would be: public bool Exist(DataType T) { return (does _myList contain a MyObject<T>?); }

  • Common type for generic classes of different types

    - by DinGODzilla
    I have (for example) Dictionary of different generic types (d1, d2, d3, d4) and I want to store them in something var d1 = new Dictionary<int, string>(); var d2 = new Dictionary<int, long>(); var d3 = new Dictionary<DateTime, bool>(); var d4 = new Dictionary<string, object>(); var something = ??? //new List<object> {d1, d2, d3, d4}; Is there any other way how to store that in something with common denominator different than object? Thanks :-)

  • C++ Type error with Object versus Object reference

    - by muddybruin
    I have the following function (which worked in Visual Studio): bool Plane::contains(Vector& point){ return normalVector.dotProduct(point - position) < -doubleResolution; } When I compile it using g++ version 4.1.2 , I get the following error: Plane.cpp: In member function âvirtual bool Plane::contains(Vector&)â: Plane.cpp:36: error: no matching function for call to âVector::dotProduct(Vector)â Vector.h:19: note: candidates are: double Vector::dotProduct(Vector&) So as you can see, the compiler thinks (point-position) is a Vector but it's expecting Vector&. What's the best way to fix this? I verified that this works: Vector temp = point-position; return normalVector.dotProduct(temp) < -doubleResolution; But I was hoping for something a little bit cleaner. I heard a suggestion that adding a copy constructor might help. So I added a copy constructor to Vector (see below), but it didn't help. Vector.h: Vector(const Vector& other); Vector.cpp: Vector::Vector(const Vector& other) :x(other.x), y(other.y), z(other.z), homogenous(other.homogenous) { }
