  I'd like to have a thing cleared. I just started using Ubuntu and installed 12.04 the only problem is that when i turn my laptop back on after suspension i get a black screen with this written: legacy_resume():pnp_bus_resume+0x0/0x70 return -19 PM: Device 00:09 failed to resume: error -19 i8042: Can't reactivate AUX port and after this message at times my touchpad doesn't work as well. • dual boot ubuntu installation mishap

  I have Windows 7 pc ,where i had 2 partitions, a c drive for my system files and a d drive for my data. I decided to install ubuntu 11.10 a couple of days ago and thought of install it in a separate partition of its own. So i made a separate Linux partition of 30GB. I downloaded ubuntu on my usb stick and installed. During the installation process i was asked where to install ubuntu so i opened up a screen that was similar to this one There were six partitions present ( I had made only 3 partition via windows). Their names were totally different from the ones that i had given in windows. So i selected a drive which had the same size as my Linux partition that i had made in windows ( no other partition had the same size). I clicked on install now and got an error message saying that "There was no root folder set". I set the newly made partition as my root folder and clicked install now. Now out of the 6 partitions that were created 3 were logical ( i had only created 3 partitions in windows). As soon as i clicked install now, the system asked me where i wanted to put my "swap space". I selected one of the logical drives and hit install. Ubuntu successfully installed on my system and at the end it asked me to reboot. I did and got the following error message: "missing operating system". I was shocked. I tried my windows recovery disk ( that i had gotten when i had purchased my laptop) and there i went into startup repair. In the startup repair option i was not able to locate windows. The system asked me to click the "Load drivers" button to load the drivers to my harddrive where windows was installed, but i could not locate any drivers to my harddrive. I tried this several times but to no success. I panicked and installed ubuntu, now this time click "ok" at every step( not worrying about the partition and all). The os installed correctly and i am now able to access my harddrive. NO data within the c drive is lost. All the windows system files are intact. I wish to recover my windows installation. How do i go about it? Thank you in advance. I do not want to format my computer and install windows again.

• IndexOutOfRangeException on World.Step after enabling/disabling a Farseer physics body?

  Earlier, I posted a question asking how to swap fixtures on the fly in a 2D side-scroller using Farseer Physics Engine. The ultimate goal being that the player's physical body changes when the player is in different states (I.e. standing, walking, jumping, etc). After reading this answer, I changed my approach to the following: Create a physical body for each state when the player is loaded Save those bodies and their corresponding states in parallel lists Swap those physical bodies out when the player state changes (which causes an exception, see below) The following is my function to change states and swap physical bodies: new protected void SetState(object nState) { //If mBody == null, the player is being loaded for the first time if (mBody == null) { mBody = mBodies[mStates.IndexOf(nState)]; mBody.Enabled = true; } else { //Get the body for the given state Body nBody = mBodies[mStates.IndexOf(nState)]; //Enable the new body nBody.Enabled = true; //Disable the current body mBody.Enabled = false; //Copy the current body's attributes to the new one nBody.SetTransform(mBody.Position, mBody.Rotation); nBody.LinearVelocity = mBody.LinearVelocity; nBody.AngularVelocity = mBody.AngularVelocity; mBody = nBody; } base.SetState(nState); } Using the above method causes an IndexOutOfRangeException when calling World.Step: mWorld.Step(Math.Min((float)nGameTime.ElapsedGameTime.TotalSeconds, (1f / 30f))); I found that the problem is related to changing the .Enabled setting on a body. I tried the above function without setting .Enabled, and there was no error thrown. Turning on the debug views, I saw that the bodies were updating positions/rotations/etc properly when the state was changes, but since they were all enabled, they were just colliding wildly with each other. Does Enabling/Disabling a body remove it from the world's body list, which then causes the error because the list is shorter than expected? Update: For such a straightforward issue, I feel this question has not received enough attention. Has anyone else experienced this? Would anyone try a quick test case? I know this issue can be sidestepped - I.e. by not disabling a body during the simulation - but it seems strange that this issue would exist in the first place, especially when I see no mention of it in the documentation for farseer or box2d. I can't find any cases of the issue online where things are more or less kosher, like in my case. Any leads on this would be helpful.

  So I just went through driver update. The os froze so I had to hard reboot the pc. Now I just get the login promt in terminal. so i try to run startx. codeError: API mismatch: the NVIDIA kernel module has version 304.43 but this NVIDIA driver Component has version 295.49| i just got this error... I have to type sudo su then modprobe ndiswrapper to get my wifi to work, so step by step instructions after that would be greatly helpful

I have managed to install wubi on my laptop fine and I can get on the net with ethernet, But when I try to download and install the wifi drivers it keeps giving me what I think is a generic var/ log error and just starts to hang on install then says it will not install.   I formatted all the partitions in my computer to a single ext4 partition and did a fresh installation of Ubuntu 13.04. I'm getting: Failed to execute /init Kernel panic - not syncing: no init found. Try passing init=option to kernel. Even on clean reinstall the issue persist. Booting from recovery mode leads to same error, so not able to reach the terminal. But able to boot from Live CD. Any help much appreciated.

  I've set up a very basic game loop that should draw a circle, run 100 times, then draw another. I also have a text field that should display how many times the loop has ran. However, the screen seems to not update. It displays a different value for the tick count (different each time the app is ran) and simply stays there. After exiting the app, I get an error saying "Unfortunately, MyApp has stopped." Now I've realized that internet is full of backlinks that point to non-existing parts (pages) under my website-domain (for example to mypage.com/whatever, where whatever is not present on my website, so 404 error shows). I want to ask, are these links counted by google (for pagerank) and other search engines, or not. So do I have to redirect these links to existing pages in order to be counted?

  I had problems running scripts with Framework 4.0 assemblies I created.  The error I was getting was  Add-Type : Could not load file or assembly 'file:///C:\myDLL.dll' or one of its dependencies. This assembly is built by a runtime newer than the currently loaded runtime and cannot be loaded. I had to add the supported framework to the powershell.exe.config file.<supportedRuntime version="v4.0.30319"/>I still had a problem running the assembly so I had to recompile and set "Generate serialization Assembly" to off.

  The application consists of Driver code,a Source Object file(.so) ,and a Application code to interact with a hardware Card.. The problem comes in a mmap().It reads address from a card. But it is not getting the correct address in some systems.The Error is because of It is receiving a SIGSEGV signal and segmentation fault followed to that.But in some system which having the same version of kernel is not at all facing the problem and working properly.
