• jQuery — Nested Sortables Plugin — Disabling sortability between parents

  I've got a question that I think is simple but I've not been able to figure it out. This is in regard to this plugin: http://mjsarfatti.com/sandbox/nestedSortable/ Essentially, I want to disable the ability to sort children outside of their parents. So, I've got this: CATEGORY 1 ITEM 1.1 ITEM 1.2 ITEM 1.3 CATEGORY 2 ITEM 2.1 ITEM 2.2 ITEM 2.3 So, I'd like to provide the ability for users to sort the children within their category, and the ability to sort the categories themselves. But I want to disable the ability to move a child to another parent. (e.g. ITEM 1.1 cannot be moved to CATEGORY 2). And also I would like to disable the abilty to nest any parents in any children. I tried setting it so that the 'nestedSortable' function is called for every new OL but that simple disables sorting for everything entirely. Thanks for any help.

• Java enums: Gathering info from another enums

  I made a similar question a few days ago, but now I have new requirements, and new challenges =). As usual, I'm using the animal enums for didactic purposes, once I don't want to explain domain-specific stuff I have a basic enum of animals, which is used by the whole zoo (I can add stuff to it, but must keep compatibility): public enum Animal { DOG, ELEPHANT, WHALE, SHRIMP, BIRD, GIRAFFE; } I need to categorize them in a few, non-related categories, like gray animals (whale (my whale is gray) and elephant), small animals (bird, shrimp and dog), sea animals (whale and shrimp). I could, as suggested in my previous questions, add a lot of booleans, like isGray, isSmall and isFromSea, but I'd like an approach where I could keep this somewhere else (so my enum doesn't need to know much). Something like: public enum Animal { DOG, ELEPHANT, WHALE, SHRIMP, BIRD, GIRAFFE; public boolean isGray() { // What comes here? } } Somewhere else public enum GrayAnimal { WHALE, ELEPHANT; } How is this possible? Am I requesting too much from Java?

• Access Products/Category/Attribute Info from php with Magento API

  Need to be able to pull Magento products into an external template. Need to be able to get all products data (description, title, attributes, categories, image, etc). And need to be able to filter by category, attribute and also search on name. These calls will be made from the same server that the Magento install is on. What's the best way to do this? Will be using php on both linux & windows (2 separate sites). Have tried using the Magento API & Soap to access from php but haven't been able to get that to work yet. All I get is this error every time. • Dismissing iPad UIPopoverController when BarButtonItem is pushed while it's open

However, I'd also like to have the popover dismiss if the button is pressed while it is already open to follow good guidelines. How would I go about doing this? (i.e. if the user repeatedly clicks this button, the popover should come and hide every other hit.)

  i have no option to install Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1) on my computer. Why is the option to install Windows 7 SP1 missing from Windows Update? i'm less interested in why the option is missing, and more interested in how to diagnose why the option to install Windows 7 SP1 is being hidden. Following the suggestions in KB2498452 - You do not have the option of downloading Windows 7 SP1 when you use Windows Update to check for updates: Confirm that Windows 7 SP1 is not already installed and that you are not running a prerelease version of Windows 7 SP1 i am not already running SP1, or a pre-release SP1: Check for pending updates Update 976902 may have to be installed on your computer before Windows 7 SP1 will be offered in Windows Update. i already have 976902 installed: Verify that an incompatible version of SafeCentral is not installed on your computer Windows SP1 may not appear in Windows Update if certain versions of SafeCentral are installed on your computer. Nor am i particularly interested in a direct download link. i want to learn here. i want to be able to diagnose (i.e. in the future) why an update is not being offered. i'm a superuser here. Rather than others coming up with a checklist of things to try, i want to be able to come up with the checklist.

Should I call self.all() in count_music() function of MusicManager to query only on elements with 'Music' category or do I still need to filter through them in search for category first ?

Since Silverlight on Windows Phone only supports Async WebClient and HttpWebRequest calls, I was wondering what a good async pattern is for a Class that exposes methods that make REST calls. For example, I have an app that needs to do the following. Login and get token Using token from #1, get a list of albums Using token from #1 get a list of categories etc my class exposes a few methods: Login() GetAlbums() GetCategories() since each method needs to call WebClient using Async calls what I need to do is essentially block calling Login till it returns so that I can call GetAlbums(). What is a good way to go about this in my class that exposes those methods?

• How do I make my drop down remain dropped down?

  The site I'm currently working on is located at: http://counterbeing.com The problem I'm trying to solve is that when you run your mouse over the "Categories" button, the sub-menu items pop up, but then disappear before you can click them. I've tried a variety of things. For one thing, I was attempting to define the div that the sub menu items are wrapped in as something that will also trigger the animation, but that doesn't seem to work... • Dynamic fields with Thinking Sphinx

  Hi! I'm building an application where I have products and categories. Category has_many properties and each property has a list of possible values. After a category is set to the product all properties show up in the form and the user can set that property to one of the properties possible values. My question is: Is it possible for Thinking Sphinx to filter the products through a property and property value ex: :with => {:property_id => property_value} If it's possible, what is the best way to implement this? • sql query to incrementally modify where condition until result contains what is required

  I need an sql query to select some items from a table based on some condition which is based on a category field. As an example consider a list of people and I fetch the people from a particular age group from the database. I want to check if the result contains at least one result from each of a number of categories. If not I want to modify the age group by extending it and check the results again. This is repeated until I get an age group for which one result is present for each category. Right now i am doing this by analyzing the results and modifying the sql query. So a number of sql select queries are sent. What is the most efficient way of doing this? I am invoking the select queries from a java program using jdbc. I am using mysql database.

Also there is the solution with an explanation available, which i would like to see if i cant solve the problem even after butting my head at it for a few hours. Is there some resource that provides this sort of a thing for several categories of algorithms- like graph algorithms, dynamic programming, etc? P.S. I considered Topcoder, but the solutions there are not really appropriate for learning to implement efficient solutions.

• using WP_Query with custom SQL in wordpress

  Hi. I am writing a plugin for wordpress and I want to create my own search. I have tried to alter the wordpress search, but what I am doing is very specific with the SQL query. I am comparing lat and long coordinates and getting posts based on that. I can display posts by using the standard wpdb query, but then I don't get the other features like paging. I'd like to be able to use my SQL statement with the WP_Query function. If I'm right in thinking, I should then be able to use the paging and other features which come from the $posts global variable. Is this right?? I've googled for hours but can't find anything for plugins outside of using args to select categories etc. I simply need to send a complete SQL command - nothing else. Many thanks....

But CategoryID not changed. My target is when i select from combobox, selected category ID set to CategoryID of currentProduct. • Kohana 2.3.4 ORM pivot table query

  I'm trying to query a pivot table with Kohana's ORM and I'm wondering if there is a built in function I'm missing. Currently I only have 2 models setup for the tables "categories" and "products". There is a pivot table "categories_products", but I don't need a model for it when inserting data with this: $product = ORM::factory('product'); $product->add(ORM::factory('category', $addCat)); However, I can't figure out how to query it without creating a model for it. The "join_table" function only returns the name of the pivot table (which I thought selected the table at first). If you can save data to the pivot table without a model, it seems to me that you should be able to retrieve data in a similar way. Any ideas?

  Hi guys Just wondering if anyone knows whether I should be able to pass in list into a compiled query and have the query perform a contains operation? The reason why I ask is that I have a scenario where I need to do this, yet at run time I am getting the following error... The specified parameter 'categories' of type 'System.Collections.Generic.List`1[[System.Int32, mscorlib, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089]]' is not valid. Only scalar parameters (such as Int32, Decimal, and Guid) are supported. I can understand why this might be the case but I was wondering if anyone knows a way around it. Cheers Anthony

  Hello, I was about to develop iphone app and I want suggestion from the expert since I am totally newbie in it. I have one classified website which is written in php and mysql. What I want to create is Iphone app which can view those classifieds. There will be no complicated function at first version. It will be have different categories and query and display according to the category. And if there's new classified ad, they will get push notification. What I want to know is, what should i go with ? Native or using phonegap ? Is phonegap supports push notification ? Is native app can just get the results through mysql ? or do i need to change it to sql lite ? Any speed different between native and phone gap ? Any advantages and disadvantages ? Thanks.

• Help a Python newbie with a Django model inheritance problem

  I'm working on my first real Django project after years of PHP programming, and I am running into a problem with my models. First, I noticed that I was copying and pasting code between the models, and being a diligent OO programmer I decided to make a parent class that the other models could inherit from: class Common(model.Model): self.name = models.CharField(max_length=255) date_created = models.DateTimeField(auto_now_add=True) date_modified = models.DateTimeField(auto_now=True) def __unicode__(self): return self.name class Meta: abstract=True So far so good. Now all my other models extend "Common" and have names and dates like I want. However, I have a class for "Categories" were the name has to be unique. I assume there should be a relatively simple way for me to access the name attribute from Common and make it unique. However, the different methods I have tried to use have all failed. For example: class Category(Common): def __init__(self, *args, **kwargs): self.name.unique=True Spits up the error "Caught an exception while rendering: 'Category' object has no attribute 'name' Can someone point me in the right direction?

So please don't mind if I ask some basic questions. :mad: I want to develop an application where the landing screen will be a login screen and after login application should display a new screen with the list of available categories. And on selecting any category a new screen should appear with the information related to the selected category. Basically I want to display different screens in the applications and my confusion is how can I make different screens with one .xib file? or should I use different .xib files for each screen. (yes, I know this is not a very formal method) Now a new guy without experience are going to join our team. We think now is the momento to make a little list of things that all we should test in each form. Divided by categories. While inspecting the link, it displays the following: onclick="jQuery('#bulk_action').val('bulk_add_to_categories'); jQuery('#bulk_form').submit(); return false;" But when I click on it I get this error. I need to do something like this I need to have an separate UI for all the products that have came from that bulk action, and then put them into the selected categories, but I am not able to do that. Can anyone help me on this? Any help would be great. I have seen lot of tutorial and read the rails admin github page but I was not able to find anything helpful. Please guide me.

  Hi There, I have an Entity Model that has Items, which can belong to one or more categories, and which can have one or more tags. I need to write a query that finds all tags for a given ItemCategory, preferably with a single call to the database, as this is going to get called fairly often. I currently have: Dim q = (From ic In mContext.ItemCategory _ Where ic.CategoryID = forCategoryID _ Select ic).SelectMany(Function(cat) cat.Items).SelectMany(Function(i) i.Tags) _ .OrderByDescending(Function(t) t.Items.Count).ToList This is nearly there, apart from it doesn't contain the items for each tag, so I'd have to iterate through, loading the item reference to find out how many items each tag is related to (for font sizing). Ideally, I want to return a List(Of TagCount), which is just a structure, containing Tag as string, and Count as integer. I've looked at Group and Join, but I'm not getting anywhere so any help would be greatly appreciated!
