I have my Hudson CI server setup. I have a CVS repo that I can only checkout stuff via ssh. But I see no way to convince Hudson to check out via ssh. I tried all sorts of options when supplying my connection string.
Has anyone done this? I gotta think it has been done.
I would like to check whether a variable is either an array or a single value in JavaScript.
I have found a possible solution...
if (variable.constructor == Array)...
Is this the best way this can be done?
In javascript, how would you check if an object is actually visible. I don't just mean checking the visibility and display attributes. I mean, checking that the element is not
visibility:hidden or display:none
underneath another element
scrolled off the edge of the screen.
EDIT: For technical reasons, I can't include any scripts. I can however use prototype as it is on the page already.
EDIT 2: This is no longer neccesary, but I'd still find an answer interesting)
I have an application where I need to check for a file which may be created dynamically during my execution, I will give up after some MAX time where the file has yet to show up. I wanted to know if there was a more efficient method in Java of checking for the file other than polling for it and then sleeping every X seconds? If not what would be the most efficient manner of doing this?
I want to open any file type by using the code below:

I am a newbie to perl. My problem is...
I have a relative path
$base_path = input/myMock.TGZ
The filename can change. But the path is always stored in $base_path.
I need to check if the file exists in $base_path.
Any suggestions are helpful to me
In the script, sometimes a newline is added in the beginning of the text field (am using a textArea in adobe flex 3), and later on that newline might need to be removed (after other text has been added). I was wondering how to check if there is a newline at the beginning of the text field and then how to remove it. Thanks in advance.

I am using python and would like a simple api or regex to check for a domain name's validity. By validity I am the syntactical validity and not whether the domain name actually exists on the Internet or not.
hi,
I'm trying to check if a given URL is valid and i'm doing it like this:
- (BOOL)urlIsValid:(NSString *)address {
NSURL *testURL = [NSURL URLWithString:address];
if (testURL == nil) {
return NO;
}
else {
return YES;
}
}
Since "URLWithString" is supposed to return "nil" if the URL is malformed I thought this would work but it doesn't for some reason. Could someone please tell me why?
Thanks in advance!
hi there, what i wana know is that how can i use assembly that is register in GAC in my C# application.
Detail: What i wana achieved is that
1) Check ABC assembly that is register in my client machine or not from my windows
application
2) If not then register that assemble in GAC of client from my windows application
3) And use this assembly and perform some functions
Remember that that ABC assemble is my assembly having some of my function.
Working with an standard configuration of the server, without any lock, my files are read-only after every check out or update to the working copy. I have to set them to be not read-only to continue working, but besides this shouldn't be happening, it's uncomfortable.
Anybody knows how to avoid this behavior?
Is there a way to check if a String meant for a path has invalid characters, in .Net? I know I could iterate over each character in Path.InvalidPathChars to see if my String contained one, but I'd prefer a simple, perhaps more formal, solution.
Is there one?
Currently I monitoring a particular file with a simple shell one-liner:
filesize=$(ls -lah somefile | awk '{print $5}')
I'm aware that Perl has some nice modules to deal with Excel files so the idea is to, let's say, run that check daily, perhaps with cron, and write the result on a spreadsheet for further statistical use.
As the question mentioned, I have a memorystream from a Byte[] ByteArr. How can I check if it can convert to a bitmap before using it with Bitmap myImg = new Bitmap(memorystream).

I have a JSF page which has a bundle loaded. However I need to dynamiclly build a key to access the property. What I need to do is check that the property exists so I can decide whether to render the or not.
I have tried checking if the value is empty but it always renders the output.
Thanks
I have the following dictionary:
sites = {
'stackoverflow': 1,
'superuser': 2,
'meta': 3,
'serverfault': 4,
'mathoverflow': 5
}
To check if there are more than one key available in the above dictionary, I will do something like:
'stackoverflow' in sites and 'serverfault' in sites
The above is maintainable with only 2 key lookups. Is there a better way to handle checking a large number of keys in a very big dictionary?
