  • ASP.NET MembershipProvider and StructureMap

    - by Ben
I was using the default AspNetSqlMembershipProvider in my application. Authentication is performed via an AuthenticationService (since I'm also supporting other forms of membership like OpenID). My AuthenticationService takes a MembershipProvider as a constructor parameter and I am injecting the dependency using StructureMap like so: For<MembershipProvider>().Use(Membership.Provider); This will use the MembershipProvider configured in web.config. All this works great. However, now I have rolled my own MembershipProvider that makes use of a repository class. Since the MembershipProvider isn't exactly IoC friendly, I added the following code to the MembershipProvider.Initialize method: _membershipRepository = ObjectFactory.GetInstance<IMembershipRepository>(); However, this raises an exception, like StructureMap hasn't been initialized (cannot get instance of IMembershipRepository). However, if I remove the code and put breakpoints at my MembershipProvider's initialize method and my StructureMap bootstrapper, it does appear that StructureMap is configured before the MembershipProvider is initialized. My only workaround so far is to add the above code to each method in the MembershipProvider that needs the repository. This works fine, but I am curious as to why I can't get my instance in the Initialize method. Is the MembershipProvider performing some internal initialization that runs before any of my own application code does? Thanks Ben

  • Django forms, inheritance and order of form fields

    - by Hannson
I'm using Django forms in my website and would like to control the order of the fields. Here's how I define my forms: class edit_form(forms.Form): summary = forms.CharField() description = forms.CharField(widget=forms.TextArea) class create_form(edit_form): name = forms.CharField() The name is immutable and should only be listed when the entity is created. I use inheritance to add consistency and DRY principles. What happens which is not erroneous, in fact totally expected, is that the name field is listed last in the view/html but I'd like the name field to be on top of summary and description. I do realize that I could easily fix it by copying summary and description into create_form and loose the inheritance but I'd like to know if this is possible. Why? Imagine you've got 100 fields in edit_form and have to add 10 fields on the top in create_form - copying and maintaining the two forms wouldn't look so sexy then. (This is not my case, I'm just making up an example) So, how can I override this behavior? Edit: Apparently there's no proper way to do this without going through nasty hacks (fiddling with .field attribute). The .field attribute is a SortedDict (one of Django's internal datastructures) which doesn't provide any way to reorder key:value pairs. It does how-ever provide a way to insert items at a given index but that would move the items from the class members and into the constructor. This method would work, but make the code less readable. The only other way I see fit is to modify the framework itself which is less-than-optimal in most situations. In short the code would become something like this: class edit_form(forms.Form): summary = forms.CharField() description = forms.CharField(widget=forms.TextArea) class create_form(edit_form): def __init__(self,*args,**kwargs): forms.Form.__init__(self,*args,**kwargs) self.fields.insert(0,'name',forms.CharField()) That shut me up :)

  • Bind to a method in WPF?

    - by Cameron MacFarland
How do you bind to an objects method in this scenario in WPF? public class RootObject { public string Name { get; } public ObservableCollection<ChildObject> GetChildren() {...} } public class ChildObject { public string Name { get; } } XAML: <TreeView ItemsSource="some list of RootObjects"> <TreeView.Resources> <HierarchicalDataTemplate DataType="{x:Type data:RootObject}" ItemsSource="???"> <TextBlock Text="{Binding Path=Name}" /> </HierarchicalDataTemplate> <HierarchicalDataTemplate DataType="{x:Type data:ChildObject}"> <TextBlock Text="{Binding Path=Name}" /> </HierarchicalDataTemplate> </TreeView.Resources> </TreeView> Here I want to bind to the GetChildren method on each RootObject of the tree. EDIT Binding to an ObjectDataProvider doesn't seem to work because I'm binding to a list of items, and the ObjectDataProvider needs either a static method, or it creates it's own instance and uses that. For example, using Matt's answer I get: System.Windows.Data Error: 33 : ObjectDataProvider cannot create object; Type='RootObject'; Error='Wrong parameters for constructor.' System.Windows.Data Error: 34 : ObjectDataProvider: Failure trying to invoke method on type; Method='GetChildren'; Type='RootObject'; Error='The specified member cannot be invoked on target.' TargetException:'System.Reflection.TargetException: Non-static method requires a target.

  • Correct OOP design without getters?

    - by kane77
I recently read that getters/setters are evil and I have to say it makes sense, yet when I started learning OOP one of the first things I learned was "Encapsulate your fields" so I learned to create class give it some fields, create getters, setters for them and create constructor where I initialize these fields. And every time some other class needs to manipulate this object (or for instance display it) I pass it the object and it manipulate it using getters/setters. I can see problems with this approach. But how to do it right? For instance displaying/rendering object that is "data" class - let's say Person, that has name and date of birth. Should the class have method for displaying the object where some Renderer would be passed as an argument? Wouldn't that violate principle that class should have only one purpose (in this case store state) so it should not care about presentation of this object. Can you suggest some good resources where best practices in OOP design are presented? I'm planning to start a project in my spare time and I want it to be my learning project in correct OOP design..

  • Strange error coming from ActiveRecord (probably)

    - by artemave
My development environment: Ubuntu 9 Ruby 1.9.1/1.8.7 (rvm) Rails 2.3.5 Mysql 5.0 Apache Passenger Below is the part of the program flow to represent the issue. Request comes: #action def create begin @report = Report.new(params[:report]) ... rescue LocationNotFound => e ... end end Report constructor: class Report attr_accessor :locations def initialize(params = {}) @locations = params[:locations] ? fetch_locations(params[:locations]) : [] end ... end fetch_locations: def fetch_locations(loc_names) Rails.logger.debug "LOC_NAMES: " + loc_names.inspect ls = Location.find(:all, :conditions => [ # line 57 "locations.name in (#{loc_names.map{'?'}.join(',')})", *loc_names ], :include => [:sample_summaries, :samples]) # loc_names will never be empty ... end Location model: class Location < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :sample_summaries has_many :samples, :through => :sample_summaries ... end Now, the first time (after passenger restart) this runs fine and does the job. Most of the consequent times I get the error: Mar-11 11:01:00 #15098 DEBUG: LOC_NAMES: ["Moscow, RF", "London, UK"] Mar-11 11:01:00 #15098 DEBUG: Location Load (0.0ms) SELECT * FROM `locations` WHERE (locations.name in ('Moscow, RF','London, UK')) Mar-11 11:01:00 #15098 DEBUG: SampleSummary Load (0.0ms) SELECT `sample_summaries`.* FROM `sample_summaries` WHERE (`sample_summaries`.location_id IN (1,3)) Mar-11 11:01:00 #15098 DEBUG: SampleSummary Columns (0.0ms) SHOW FIELDS FROM `sample_summaries` Mar-11 11:01:00 #15098 FATAL: NoMethodError (You have a nil object when you didn't expect it! Any ideas? P.S. I also tried to wrap the query in uncached block, but that didn't change anything. EDIT Here is what SampleSummary model looks like: class SampleSummary < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :samples belongs_to :location ... #validations default_scope :include => :samples, :order => 'rss_ts desc' ... end

  • What's the strangest corner case you've seen in C# or .NET?

    - by Jon Skeet
I collect a few corner cases and brain teasers and would always like to hear more. The page only really covers C# language bits and bobs, but I also find core .NET things interesting too. For example, here's one which isn't on the page, but which I find incredible: string x = new string(new char[0]); string y = new string(new char[0]); Console.WriteLine(object.ReferenceEquals(x, y)); I'd expect that to print False - after all, "new" (with a reference type) always creates a new object, doesn't it? The specs for both C# and the CLI indicate that it should. Well, not in this particular case. It prints True, and has done on every version of the framework I've tested it with. (I haven't tried it on Mono, admittedly...) Just to be clear, this is only an example of the kind of thing I'm looking for - I wasn't particularly looking for discussion/explanation of this oddity. (It's not the same as normal string interning; in particular, string interning doesn't normally happen when a constructor is called.) I was really asking for similar odd behaviour. Any other gems lurking out there?

  • General Question About WPF Control Behavior and using Invoke

    - by Phil Sandler
I have been putting off activity on SO because my current reputation is "1337". :) This is a question of "why" and not "how". By default, it seems that WPF does not set focus to the first control in a window when it's opening. In addition, when a textbox gets focus, by default it does not have it's existing text selected. So basically when I open a window, I want focus on the first control of the window, and if that control is a textbox, I want it's existing text (if any) to be selected. I found some tips online to accomplish each of these behaviors, and combined them. The code below, which I placed in the constructor of my window, is what I came up with: Loaded += (sender, e) => { MoveFocus(new TraversalRequest(FocusNavigationDirection.Next)); var textBox = FocusManager.GetFocusedElement(this) as TextBox; if (textBox != null) { Action select = textBox.SelectAll; //for some reason this doesn't work without using invoke. Dispatcher.Invoke(DispatcherPriority.Loaded, select); } }; So, my question. Why does the above not work without using Dispatcher.Invoke? Is something built into the behavior of the window (or textbox) cause the selected text to be de-selected post-loading? Maybe related, maybe not--another example of where I had to use Dispatcher.Invoke to control the behavior of a form: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2602979/wpf-focus-in-tab-control-content-when-new-tab-is-created

  • Inheritance using prototype / "new"

    - by mikkol
Hi I'm new in Javascript OO and want to know more about about inheritance. Hope you can provide some advice! I see this great post: How to "properly" create a custom object in JavaScript? which talks about how a class is inherited as I see in other websites, ex.: function man(x) { this.x = x; this.y = 2; } man.prototype.name = "man"; man.prototype.two = function() { this.y = "two"; } function shawn() { man.apply(this, arguments); }; shawn.prototype = new man; The above post claims that in order not to call "man"'s constructor while inheriting, one can use a helper like this instead: function subclassOf(base) { _subclassOf.prototype= base.prototype; return new _subclassOf(); } function _subclassOf() {}; shawn.prototype = subclassOf(man); While I understand its intention, I don't see why we can't call shawn.prototype = man.prototype; I see it works exactly the same. Or is there something I'm missing? Thanks in advance!

  • Zend Framework: How to start PHPUnit testing Forms?

    - by Andrew
I am having trouble getting my filters/validators to work correctly on my form, so I want to create a Unit test to verify that the data I am submitting to my form is being filtered and validated correctly. I started by auto-generating a PHPUnit test in Zend Studio, which gives me this: <?php require_once 'PHPUnit/Framework/TestCase.php'; /** * Form_Event test case. */ class Form_EventTest extends PHPUnit_Framework_TestCase { /** * @var Form_Event */ private $Form_Event; /** * Prepares the environment before running a test. */ protected function setUp () { parent::setUp(); // TODO Auto-generated Form_EventTest::setUp() $this->Form_Event = new Form_Event(/* parameters */); } /** * Cleans up the environment after running a test. */ protected function tearDown () { // TODO Auto-generated Form_EventTest::tearDown() $this->Form_Event = null; parent::tearDown(); } /** * Constructs the test case. */ public function __construct () { // TODO Auto-generated constructor } /** * Tests Form_Event->init() */ public function testInit () { // TODO Auto-generated Form_EventTest->testInit() $this->markTestIncomplete( "init test not implemented"); $this->Form_Event->init(/* parameters */); } /** * Tests Form_Event->getFormattedMessages() */ public function testGetFormattedMessages () { // TODO Auto-generated Form_EventTest->testGetFormattedMessages() $this->markTestIncomplete( "getFormattedMessages test not implemented"); $this->Form_Event->getFormattedMessages(/* parameters */); } } so then I open up terminal, navigate to the directory, and try to run the test: $ cd my_app/tests/unit/application/forms $ phpunit EventTest.php Fatal error: Class 'Form_Event' not found in .../tests/unit/application/forms/EventTest.php on line 19 So then I add a require_once at the top to include my Form class and try it again. Now it says it can't find another class. I include that one and try it again. Then it says it can't find another class, and another class, and so on. I have all of these dependencies on all these other Zend_Form classes. What should I do? How should I go about testing my Form to make sure my Validators and Filters are being attached correctly, and that it's doing what I expect it to do. Or am I thinking about this the wrong way?

  • add JButton into frame with JTable

    - by Edan
hello, I would like to know how to put a button inside a frame that contain JTable inside. (The button should not be inside a cell, but after the table ends) Here is the example code I wrote so far: class SimpleTableExample extends JFrame { // Instance attributes used in this example private JPanel topPanel; private JTable table; private JScrollPane scrollPane; private JButton update_Button; // Constructor of main frame public SimpleTableExample() { // Set the frame characteristics setTitle("Add new item" ); setSize(300, 200); setBackground( Color.gray ); // Create a panel to hold all other components topPanel = new JPanel(); topPanel.setLayout( new BorderLayout() ); getContentPane().add( topPanel ); // Create columns names String columnNames[] = {"Item Description", "Item Type", "Item Price"}; // Create some data String dataValues[][] = {{ "0", "Entree", "0" }}; // Create a new table instance table = new JTable( dataValues, columnNames ); //////////////////////////// JComboBox item_Type_Combobox = new JComboBox(); item_Type_Combobox = new JComboBox(item_Type.values()); TableColumn column = table.getColumnModel().getColumn(1); column.setCellEditor(new DefaultCellEditor(item_Type_Combobox)); //////////////////////////// // Add the table to a scrolling pane scrollPane = new JScrollPane( table ); topPanel.add( scrollPane, BorderLayout.CENTER ); } } How do I add button after the table I created? thanks in advance

  • Simulate Windows Service with ASP.NET

    - by Bayonian
Hi, I have small web app that generate PDF files as a report. I'm trying to delete those generated PDF files after 10 sec that they are generated. What I want to do is to read a folder with PDF files every 10 sec, and delete all the PDF files inside that folder. I read this post of Easy Background Tasks in ASP.NET. The following code is the VB version. Protected Sub Application_Start(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As EventArgs) AddTask("DoStuff", 10) End Sub Private Sub AddTask(ByVal name As String, ByVal seconds As Integer) OnCacheRemove = New CacheItemRemovedCallback(CacheItemRemoved) HttpRuntime.Cache.Insert(name, seconds, Nothing, DateTime.Now.AddSeconds(seconds), Cache.NoSlidingExpiration, CacheItemPriority.NotRemovable, _ OnCacheRemove) End Sub Public Sub CacheItemRemoved(ByVal k As String, ByVal v As Object, ByVal r As CacheItemRemovedReason) ' do stuff here if it matches our taskname, like WebRequest DeletePDFilesInFoler() ' re-add our task so it recurs AddTask(k, Convert.ToInt32(v)) End Sub But I got this error Delegate 'System.Web.Caching.CacheItemRemovedCallback' requires an 'AddressOf' expression or lambda expression as the only argument to its constructor. If this code works, where I should put it. Right, now I'm putting it in the master page. How to get this error out? Thank you

  • Is it possible to handle User Defined Exception using JAX WS Dispatch API ?

    - by snowflake
Hello, I'm performing dynamic webservices call using following code snippet: JAXBContext jc = getJAXBContext(requestClass, responseClass, jaxbContextExtraClasses); Dispatch<Object> dispatch = service.createDispatch(portQName, jc, Service.Mode.PAYLOAD); Object requestValue = getRequestValue(requestClass, pOrderedParameters); JAXBElement<?> request = new JAXBElement(new QName(serviceQNameStr, pOperationName), requestValue.getClass(), null, requestValue); Object tmpResponse = dispatch.invoke(request); Invocation works perfectly, except if I add a user defined exception on the service (a basic UserException extends java.lang.Exception). First I get: javax.xml.bind.UnmarshalException: unexpected element (uri:"http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/", local:"Fault"). Expected elements are <{http://my.namespace/}myMethod,<{http://my.namespace/}myResponse Then I added the UserException_Exception JAX-WS generated type to my JAXB Context, and then get: Caused by: com.sun.xml.bind.v2.runtime.IllegalAnnotationsException: 1 counts of IllegalAnnotationExceptions java.lang.StackTraceElement does not have a no-arg default constructor. this problem is related to the following location: at java.lang.StackTraceElement at public java.lang.StackTraceElement[] java.lang.Throwable.getStackTrace() at java.lang.Throwable at java.lang.Exception Only solution available I found are: dispatch directly a Soap message and handle Soap fault directly (this is the way Jboss JAX-WS implementation performs a standard JAX-WS call using services interfaces). This is not an available solution for me, I want to use a high level implementation (the more I get close to Soap message the less dynamic my code can be) usage of JAXBRIContext.ANNOTATION_READER, which is implementation specific and not an available solution for me, in order to annotate annotates java.lang.Exception as @XmlTransient The service with a user defined exception performs well using the JAX-WS generated standard client stubs and using a tool such Soap UI. Problem occurs in deserialization of the message when I have no user defined exception artifact in the JAXB context, and during invocation when I add those non JAXB compatible artifacts in the JAXB context. I'm usign Jboss WS webservice stack within Jboss 4.2.3.GA Any elegant solution to this problem is welcomed !

  • [AS3] BitmapData cut-off

    - by Fristi
    Hello, I am writing a MovieClip rasterizer which rasterizes all the frames in the specified movieclip. Here's the code for rasterizing: for ( var i:int = start; i <= end; i++ ) { //goto the next frame clip.gotoAndStop( i ); //get the bounds bounds = clip.getBounds(clip); //create a new bitmapdata container bitmapData = new BitmapData( transformer.width == -1 ? bounds.width : transformer.width, transformer.height == -1 ? bounds.height : transformer.height, transformer.transparent, transformer.color ); //rotate the clip if (clip.rotation != 0) transformer.rotate( clip.rotation * (Math.PI / 180) ); //scale the clip if (clip.scaleX != 1 || clip.scaleY != 1) transformer.scale( clip.scaleX, clip.scaleY ); //translate the movieclip to its zero point if (transformer.matrix.tx == 0 && transformer.matrix.ty == 0) transformer.translateToZero( bounds ); //draw the bitmap data with the transformers bitmapData.draw( this._source, transformer.matrix, transformer.colorTransform, transformer.blendMode, transformer.clipRect, //new Rectangle(0, 0, bounds.width, bounds.height), transformer.smoothing ); //push the data on the array frames.push( bitmapData ); } Now the result is different - http://i42.tinypic.com/lfv52.jpg - (note the head and left shoe). Anyone knows what the problem is? I've seen people adding 'extra' pixels to their boundary box at the BitmapData constructor, but thats nasty imo.

  • Correct use of WSDL-generated sources

    - by John K
How can I easily convert between manually written classes and WSDL-generated equivalents? I have a Java SE 6 thick client that calls a web service to get and store data. The client has a DAO that works with my entity classes, calls <Entity.toDto() to convert them to DTOs, and sends/receives that data with the web service. My issue stems from the fact that the entity classes live on both sides of the service interface: client and server. Each entity has a constructor from the DTO and a toDto function: public class EntityClass { public EntityClass(EntityClassDto dto); public EntityClassDto toDto(); ... } This means I have a handwritten DTO class that the client and server both use. However, the service interface expects the WSDL-generated classes. I have tried writing conversion code between the hand-written DTO and the WSDL-generated DTO and it is tedious and error-prone. What is a reasonable alternative to this? Some back-story: The thick client should be able to have a configurable backend: either direct to the DB or through this web service. The aforementioned DAO is the web service based implementation and another imlpementation that is JPA-based exists.

  • Using Google Visualization in GWT 2.0

    - by nick
I'm working on learning GWT (total newb) and have a question regarding the Visualiztion API provided by Google. This page: http://code.google.com/p/gwt-google-apis/wiki/VisualizationGettingStarted Describes getting started with a pie chart (which is what I need). However I'm trying to do this in a composite UI using UiBinder. To that end I don't know how to handle the callback correctly that is shown: public class SimpleViz implements EntryPoint { public void onModuleLoad() { // Create a callback to be called when the visualization API // has been loaded. Runnable onLoadCallback = new Runnable() { public void run() { Panel panel = RootPanel.get(); // Create a pie chart visualization. PieChart pie = new PieChart(createTable(), createOptions()); pie.addSelectHandler(createSelectHandler(pie)); panel.add(pie); } }; // Load the visualization api, passing the onLoadCallback to be called // when loading is done. VisualizationUtils.loadVisualizationApi(onLoadCallback, PieChart.PACKAGE); } My First assumption is this would go in the UiBinder constructor, correct? Yet this assumes that I want to place the element in the RootLayoutPanel, and I don't. I can't see an elegant and obvious way of placing it in the binder. I submit that even this guess may be wrong. Any ideas from the experts?

  • VB.Net Custom Object Master-Detail Data Binding

    - by clawson
Since beginning to use VB.Net some years ago I have become slowly familiar with using the data binding features of .Net, however I often find my self bewildered by it's behavior and instead of discover the correct way it should work I find some dirty work around to suit my needs and continue on. Needless to say my problems continue to arise. I am using Custom Objects as the Data Sources for by controls and often entire forms. I find it frustrating to separate business logic and the graphical interface. (That could be a new question entirely.) So for a lot of objects I generate a form which has the DataBindingSource for the object. When I create each from using the New Constructor I explicitly pass to it the object to which it should be bound, and then set this passed object as the DataSource of the BindingSource. (That's a mouthful!) Now the Master object (say, bound to each form) often contains a List of objects which I like to have displayed in a DataGridView. I (sometimes) create and modify these child objects in their own form (again creating a databind the same way as the master form) but when I add them to the List in the master object the DataGridView won't update with the new items. So my question really has a few layers: How can I easily/efficiently/correctly update this DataGridView with the list of Detail objects when I add them to the list of the Master object. Is this approach to DataBinding good/viable. What's the best way to separate business logic from graphical interface. Thanks for the help!

  • Using jQuery, setting Draggable on an element prevents blur from firing when you click the draggable

Using jQuery, when you set a blur event on a text box and set another element as draggable, when you click the draggable element, the blur event does not fire in FireFox. IE is a little better, you get the blur event but you don't get the click event on the draggable element. • How to convert an InputStream to a DataHandler?

    - by pcorey
I'm working on a java web application in which files will be stored in a database. Originally we retrieved files already in the DB by simply calling getBytes on our result set: byte[] bytes = resultSet.getBytes(1); ... This byte array was then converted into a DataHandler using the obvious constructor: dataHandler=new DataHandler(bytes,"application/octet-stream"); This worked great until we started trying to store and retrieve larger files. Dumping the entire file contents into a byte array and then building a DataHandler out of that simply requires too much memory. My immediate idea is to retrieve a stream of the data in the database with getBinaryStream and somehow convert that InputStream into a DataHandler in a memory-efficient way. Unfortunately it doesn't seem like there's a direct way to convert an InputStream into a DataHandler. Another idea I've been playing with is reading chunks of data from the InputStream and writing them to the OutputStream of the DataHandler. But... I can't find a way to create an "empty" DataHandler that returns a non-null OutputStream when I call getOutputStream... Has anyone done this? I'd appreciate any help you can give me or leads in the right direction.

  • Blackberry read local properties file in project

Hi, I have a config.properties file at the root of my blackberry project (same place as Blackberry_App_Descriptor.xml file), and I try to access the file to read and write into it. See below my class: public class Configuration { private String file; private String fileName; public Configuration(String pathToFile) { this.fileName = pathToFile; try { // Try to load the file and read it System.out.println("---------- Start to read the file"); file = readFile(fileName); System.out.println("---------- Property file:"); System.out.println(file); } catch (Exception e) { System.out.println("---------- Error reading file"); System.out.println(e.getMessage()); } } /** * Read a file and return it in a String * @param fName * @return */ private String readFile(String fName) { String properties = null; try { System.out.println("---------- Opening the file"); //to actually retrieve the resource prefix the name of the file with a "/" InputStream is = this.getClass().getResourceAsStream(fName); //we now have an input stream. Create a reader and read out //each character in the stream. System.out.println("---------- Input stream"); InputStreamReader isr = new InputStreamReader(is); char c; System.out.println("---------- Append string now"); while ((c = (char)isr.read()) != -1) { properties += c; } } catch (Exception e) { } return properties; } } I call my class constructor like this: Configuration config = new Configuration("/config.properties"); So in my class, "file" should have all the content of the config.properties file, and the fileName should have this value "/config.properties". But the "name" is null because the file cannot be found... I know this is the path of the file which should be different, but I don't know what i can change... The class is in the package com.mycompany.blackberry.utils Thank you!

  • Parameterized Queries /Without/ using queries.

    - by Aren B
    I've got a bit of a poor situation here. I'm stuck working with commerce server, which doesn't do a whole lot of sanitization/parameterization. I'm trying to build up my queries to prevent SQL Injection, however some things like the searches / where clause on the search object need to be built up, and there's no parameterized interface. Basically, I cannot parameterize, however I was hoping to be able to use the same engine to BUILD my query text if possible. Is there a way to do this, aside from writing my own parameterizing engine which will probably still not be as good as parameterized queries? Update: Example The where clause has to be built up as a sql query where clause essentially: CatalogSearch search = /// Create Search object from commerce server search.WhereClause = string.Format("[cy_list_price] > {0} AND [Hide] is not NULL AND [DateOfIntroduction] BETWEEN '{1}' AND '{2}'", 12.99m, DateTime.Now.AddDays(-2), DateTime.Now); *Above Example is how you refine the search, however we've done some testing, this string is NOT SANITIZED. This is where my problem lies, because any of those inputs in the .Format could be user input, and while i can clean up my input from text-boxes easily, I'm going to miss edge cases, it's just the nature of things. I do not have the option here to use a parameterized query because Commerce Server has some insane backwards logic in how it handles the extensible set of fields (schema) & the free-text search words are pre-compiled somewhere. This means I cannot go directly to the sql tables What i'd /love/ to see is something along the lines of: SqlCommand cmd = new SqlCommand("[cy_list_price] > @MinPrice AND [DateOfIntroduction] BETWEEN @StartDate AND @EndDate"); cmd.Parameters.AddWithValue("@MinPrice", 12.99m); cmd.Parameters.AddWithValue("@StartDate", DateTime.Now.AddDays(-2)); cmd.Parameters.AddWithValue("@EndDate", DateTime.Now); CatalogSearch search = /// constructor search.WhereClause = cmd.ToSqlString();

  • Using HttpClient with SSL and certificates

    - by ChrisCM
While I've been familiar with HTTPS and the concept of SSL, I have recently begun some development and found I am a little confused. The requirement was that I write a small Java application that runs on a machine attached to a scanner. When a document is scanned this is picked up and the file (usually PDF) sent over the internet to our application server that will then process it. I've written the application using Apache Commons libraries and HTTPClient. The second requirement was to connect over SSL, requiring a certificate. Following guidance on the HTTPclient page I am using AuthSSLProtocolSocketFactory from the contributions page. The constructor can take a keystore, keystore password, truststore and truststore password. As an initial test our DBA enabled SSL on one of our development webservers and provided me with a .p12 file which when I imported into IE allows me to connect successfully. I am a bit confused between keystores and truststores and what steps I need to take using the keytool. I tried importing the p12 into a keystore file but get the error: keytool error: java.lang.Exception: Input not an X.509 certificate I followed a suggestion of importing the p12 into Internet Explorer and exporting as a .cer which I can then successfully import into a keystore. When I supply this as a keystore argument of the AuthSSLProtocolSocketFactory I get a meaningless errror, but if I try it as a truststore it seems like it reads it fine but ultimately I get Caused by: javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: Received fatal alert: bad_certificate I am unsure if I have missed some steps, I am misunderstanding SSL and mutual authentication altogether or this is mis-configuration on the server side. Can anyone provide suggestions or point me towards resources that might help me figure this out please?

  • JNI: Long-object created with wrong value

    - by Torbjörn Eklund
Hi! I am writing a c-jni function in Android, and I am having problems with creating a Long-object. I have succeeded in calling the constructor, but when I read the value of the object with longValue, I get the wrong result. jmethodID longConstructor; jmethodID longGetLongValue; jclass cls; jobject obj; // Create a object of type Long. cls = (*env)->FindClass(env,"java/lang/Long"); longConstructor = (*env)->GetMethodID(env,cls,"<init>","(J)V"); obj = (*env)->NewObject(env, cls, longConstructor, 4242); // Get the value by calling the function longValue. longGetLongValue= (*env)->GetMethodID(env,cls,"longValue","()J"); long return_long_value = (*env)->CallLongMethod(env, obj, longGetLongValue); // Log the result. LOGD("%li", return_long_value); I would expect that the above code would print 4242 in the log, however the value that is printed in the log is 1691768. Does anybody have an idea on why 4242 is not written in the log?

  • log4net from embedded xml?

    - by sanjeev40084
    i have two projects in visual studio. One is the console project while other is regular c# project. In the regular c# project, i have added config file(i.e. Test.config) with log4net section. This file is embedded. <configSections> <section name="log4net" type="log4net.Config.Log4NetConfigurationSectionHandler, log4net" /> </configSections> <log4net> <appender name="fileAppender" type="log4net.Appender.RollingFileAppender"> <file value="log//testapp.log" /> <appendToFile value="true" /> <rollingStyle value="Size" /> <maxSizeRollBackups value="10" /> <maximumFileSize value="100MB" /> <staticLogFileName value="true" /> <layout type="log4net.Layout.PatternLayout,log4net"> <param name="ConversionPattern" value="%d{ISO8601} [%t] [%-5p] %c - %m%n" /> </layout> </appender> <!-- Setup the root category, add the appenders and set the default priority --> <root> <priority value="ALL" /> <appender-ref ref="fileAppender" /> </root> </log4net> Now in my console project, i want to tell my log4net to load log4net information from (Test.config) which is in another project. This is what i did in the constructor of console project: Assembly asm = Assembly.GetExecutingAssembly(); Stream xmlStream = asm.GetManifestResourceStream("Northwind.Participant.Config.Test.config"); ILog log = LogManager.GetLogger(typeof(ConsoleStart)); 'Northwind.Participant is full namespace. Config - folder where Test.config file is situated. Does anyone know how i can do that?

  • Create inherited class from base class

    - by Raj
public class Car { private string make; private string model; public Car(string make, string model) { this.make = make; this.model = model; } public virtual void Display() { Console.WriteLine("Make: {0}", make); Console.WriteLine("Model: {0}", model); } public string Make { get{return make;} set{make = value;} } public string Model { get{return model;} set{model = value;} } } public class SuperCar:Car { private Car car; private int horsePower; public SuperCar(Car car) { this.car = car; } public int HorsePower { get{return horsePower;} set{horsepower = value;} } public override void Display() { base.Display(); Console.WriteLine("I am a super car"); } When I do something like Car myCar = new Car("Porsche", "911"); SuperCar mySupcar = new SuperCar(myCar); mySupcar.Display(); I only get "I am a supercar" but not the properties of my base class. Should I explicitly assign the properties of my base class in the SuperCar constructor? In fact I'm trying Decorator pattern where I want a class to add behaviour to a base class.
