    I am trying to access a custom attribute applied to a method within a castle interceptor, e.g.: [MyCustomAttribute(SomeParam = "attributeValue")] public virtual MyEntity Entity { get; set; } using the following code: internal class MyInterceptor : IInterceptor { public void Intercept(IInvocation invocation) { if (invocation.Method.GetCustomAttributes(typeof(MyCustomAttribute), true) != null) { //Do something } } } The interceptor is firing OK when the method is called but this code does not return the custom attribute. How can I achieve this?

Is there an elegant way to access the string resources of ASP.NET membership provider to use them in custom controls? Creating for example CreateUserWizard, extracting the resources and throwing away the control seems a little bit rustic to me.

    Has anyone successfully implemented a custom preloader in Flex 4? In my experience, when I specify a custom preloader using the preloader="com.foo.MyPreloader" in the Application tag, the preloader does not display until the SWF is completely downloaded, defeating the purpose of the preloader! Perhaps this is a bug in the still-beta Flex 4 framework?

  • PDFObject load event

    Hi. We are trying to load a pdf file in web browser using pdfobject javascript api. Currently the size of the pdf's that we are trying to display is close to 10MBs. This creates a long delay in displaying a PDF on web page; while the complete PDF gets downloaded. We need to remove this lag by achieving either of the alternatives: Show a progress bar until the PDF is actually displayed. We couldn't find an event which is triggered and can be used to find out if pdf is visible now. This lacking doesn't let us decide when to stop showing progress bar/spinner OR lazy load the PDF such that it gets displayed as soon as first page gets loaded. With that ateast user will have a visual indication as to something is happening. We couldn'find anything in pdf object that lets us do a lazy load. User alternative pdf rendering api; this is a low priority as we already have complete code in place; but in an event of first 2 alternatives not being met; we'd have to consider this option. So please feel free to suggest. Any other ideas as to how user interaction can be made more intuitive or pleasant; would be welcome. Cheers

  • Does the WMI event Win32_VolumeChangeEvent work on Windows XP

    I'm trying to use the following c# code to detect the attached/removed event of usb mass storage devices. I'm using the Win32_VolumeChangeEvent. // Initialize an event watcher and subscribe to events that match this query var _watcher = new ManagementEventWatcher("select * from Win32_VolumeChangeEvent"); _watcher.EventArrived += OnDeviceChanged; _watcher.Start(); void OnDeviceChanged(object sender, EventArrivedEventArgs args) { Console.WriteLine(args.NewEvent.GetText(TextFormat.Mof)); } The problem is that this works fine on Vista but it doesn't work on XP at all (no events received). The Microsoft documentation says that this should work (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa394516(VS.85).aspx). I googled for this quite a while and found other that have this problem too. But I also found a couple of articles which claim that this kind of query (mostly in vbscript) works with XP. But I cannot find some offical information from microsoft for this issue and I can't believe that Microsoft have overlooked this issue for three service packs. So my question is: has anybody used the Win32_VolumeChangeEvent with success on XP or can provide a link/explanation why it shouldn't work on XP?

  • Show alert message box from the Global.asax (on Application_Error event)

    Normally I just redirect to a custom error page in on the Application_Error event, but I have a specific error for which I'd like to display an alert message while the user is still on the page which triggers the error. How can I make this happen? I'm open to a modalpopup or any other type of error message, I just want to ensure the user stays on the page where they encounter the error. Thank for any ideas.

Should I be trapping the mousemove event in some other way? Edit: It appears as thought the mousemove() event isn't binding for earlier elements than the one currently being dragged (should be bound upon their mouseover).

DataGrid which is there in the ASP.NET 1.1 having VirtualPageCount (something similar) which is set to render the pagination interface [1 2 3 4 5 ... something like this] GridView does not have the above mentioned property then how to generate the pagination UI?

    Hi All, I'm using a DTF immediate custom action. The Custom Action takes minimum of 5 minutes to perform its operation. Until that in the progress dialog, only the progress text is visible. The progress bar doesn't move at all. I set the ProgressText in the WiX file. How can i make the progress bar to move, so that it will be much user friendly. Now its just idle. It makes the feeling that the installer is struck in that action. Could someone please help me, how to give value to the progress control from C# DTF Custom Action. Thanks, Varun

    In my installer I have set WixUIBannerBmp to point to my own custom dialog-banner.bmp. Now I have added a custom dialog I would like to have the same banner as on the other dialogs. Is there a way to refer to the existing WixUIBannerBmp? Workaround would be to create a Binary containing the image and refer to that. But it seems like it shouldn't be needed. /L

(thousands of cache items, and there will so many subscriptions in SQL as well as issues with registration in ASP.Net) I want to use this in ASP.Net VirtualPathProvider's our custom implementation, so I can pass this CustomCacheDependecy to notify the asp.net that file content in the DB has changed.     parsec-3.1.0 ( http://hackage.haskell.org/package/parsec-3.1.0 ) works with any token type. However there are combinators like Text.Parsec.Char.satisfy that are only defined for Char datatype. There doesn't seem to be any more general counterpart available. Should I define my own versions or did I miss something? Perhaps there are different parser libraries in Haskell that allows: custom token types custom parser state (I need to parse stateful format - Wavefront OBJ)

  • How to use visibilitychange event on Firefox Extensions

    I'm trying to learn how to make a firefox extension. I want to create a toolbar that only shows up on a specific page. I can make the toolbar appear, but then it should become hidden when I open or switch to a new tab, or close the tab with that specific page.     I've got aConfiguration object that I can easily read and write settings from and call Save(ConfigurationSaveMode.Minimal, true) on and that typically works just fine. However, I now have a config file that has a custom sectionGroup defined of type System.Configuration.NameValueSectionHandler (I didn't write that part and I can't change it). Now when I call the Save method, it throws a TypeLoadException Message: Type System.Configuration.NameValueSectionHandler does not inherit from System.Configuration.ConfigurationSectionGroup. Obviously the custom section groups could be setup a little nicer but I can't fix that so I'm wondering: Is it possible to get the Configuration object to save if it has custom sectionGroups of the NameValueSectionHandler type
