  • Looking for command line interface for setting Index properties for many files

    I'm looking for a way to set a group of File Types to "Index Properties and File Contents" (Control Panel, Indexing Options, Advanced Options, File Types). Basically I'd like to write a batch file that switches that setting for a large group of file types and be able to share it with my entire team. Clicking in the UI is time consuming for everyone. This is a great solution for bringing up the GUI, but I'd like to create a batch file What is the command line for Indexing Options?

  • How can I transfer metadata from several flac files to aac (m4a) files?

    Suppose I have two folders, dir1 and dir2, with deveral files in each of them, and all the files in dir1 are named like "ExampleFileName.flac" and all the files in dir2 are named as "ExampleFileName.m4a" - basically their names are the same except the extension. What I need to do is transfer all of the metadata for each of the files somehow - even though their codecs are different. It would be great if I can do this via command line, but anything is appreciated. Thank you.

It would ideally have a windows client (with cloud sync) and thinking mobile app for reminders and such. Calendar with automatic scheduling of some sort would be great too. My links look like this : www.site.com/1234/the-pretty-url-string/ RewriteRule ^([^/])/([^/])/$ /news.php?sid=$1&url=$2 [L] This works great, but I like to have more flexability. I want to be able to accept urls like : www.site.com/1234 www.site.com/1234/ so then I can do some php $GET's and figure out if anything is missing - and 301 to the proper URL of my choice. I would like the &url=$2 to be optional.

    I would like to switch from desktop-based e-mail software (Thunderbird) to a web-based solution that I run on my own web server. I have already tried out Roundcube and while it does work reasonably well so far there is one great feature from Thunderbird that seems to be missing - it doesn't allow me to have a unified mailbox for multiple IMAP accounts. Can anybody recommend a web-based IMAP client that has this feature?

  • Cost of running colour laser printers.

    Has anyone got a good list of the costs of running colour laser printers, both for colour and black that take into account different usage volumes. E.g if the dram needs replacing after 20,000 pages, but I am only do 10,000 in the next 3 years, I don’t care about the cost of a new dram. So a simple “cost per page” figure is each printer is not good enough to be useful in real life. (A spread sheet / website that I could type my own usage values into would be great.)

  • Safari 4 starting up slowly on a Vista machine

    I have two PCs (different specs) with the latest Windows Vista and Safari 4 updates installed. In one machine, Safari 4 works great but in the other, it starts up slowly (less than a minute though) with harddisk sound indicating data access activities. I have cleared all internet caches and I am quite sure that there is no virus in both machines. Are there any other reasons that Safari performances are so different in comparably similar software and hardware environments?

  • Blurred image recovery?

    I have pictures of handwritten text and some of them are blurred, because the camera was shaky. If someone could point out any techniques that I can use to bring it to readable quality would be great. It is really a closeup, and I'm pretty sure it is doable.   • Exchange mailboxes are reaching their limit what can I do?

    I have an exchange server which has mailboxes that are over 68GB, I understand that the maximum size of mailboxes is only 75GB which we expect to pass in the very near future. What can I do about this? I have another license of exchange that I could install and setup, is it possible to do this and move some mailboxes on to this and essentially give myself a 150GB limit spread across 2 servers?   • windows server 2012 wont boot after instlling on iscsi device

    Windows server 2012 installed on a ISCI LUN. Problem noticed after first reboot. Windows boots only if setup DVD is present(i have to ignore "press any key to boot from DVD" prompt). to present the login Screen and everything looks great from here. But the server wont boot without the help of setup DVD. Can any one help me understand what would be the problem? Dell Workstation T3600 Intel Pro NIC (Capable of ISCI Boot and also enabled)

  • Run command automatically as root after login

    I'm using evrouter to simulate keypresses from my mouses extra buttons. It works great but I need to run the command with sudo to make it work so I can't just use my DE to handle autostart.     What are good alternatives to the Windows builtin remote desktop client? I have tried Terminals and it is great but I've have run into numerous bugs with the latest release (currently 1.7e). Can anyone recommend an alternative similar to Terminals?     It is always suggested on first step to disable the remote root login for the SSH protocol. I have a low-right user able to connect via SSH and once connected, I simply su in order to gain more rights. Now when using a sFTP client, I use my low-right user and am thus able to do next to nothing. My question is : Is it possible to change user after login using 3rd party client, such as Transmit, Cyberduck, Filezilla ? PS : Mac clients would be great ;)

  • Format Change Event for Excel VBA

    I'm trying to prevent people from modifying (most) of my spreadsheet while still alowing them to use the sort function of the AutoFilter. What I've done so far is used the Worksheet_Change event and Application.Undo to automatically undo any values entered into cells that I don't want to be modified. This works great, except that it can't detect changes in formatting. Does anyone know of a means to trigger an event when the format (text/background color) of a cell is changed? Thanks!

  • What can an effective workflow for changing input methods be on Mac OS X?

    I switch between three languages input methods frequently, sometimes in the same typing session. The default shortcut on a Macintosh seems to be to set keyboard shortcuts for previous/next language (I hit opt-cmd-space to go to previous language) and if you're more than bi-lingual you have to cycle until you find the one for you. The ideal would be something like hitting fn-e for English, fn-j for Japanese and fn-g for German, but anything better than the current state would be a great improvement.

  • Windows XP x64 virtual machine (VMWare ESX) using only 2 CPUs (out of 4)

    I just converted a physical Windows XP x64 machine with 4 CPUs to a VMWare virtual machine with 4CPUs (on a ESX server) using the VMWare Standalone Converter. Everything worked just great, except that the OS now seems to use only 2 CPUs (when 4 are installed, see the following image). This must be a Windows XP issue rather than a VMWare issue, but I can not really rule out any reason at this stage. What can I do?

  • How to get GlassFish to respond over IPv6?

    I've got GlassFish v3 installed on a Windows 2008R2 server, and it works great over IPv4, but is not even listening on IPv6. The wiki says "Yes it supports IPv6" but doesn't go into any detail on how to turn it on. Been flipping around in the admin pages, but I don't seen any options I recognize.
