• How do I disable the firewall on blackberry?

  I own a Blackberry 9630 tour.(Sprint). The firewall is enabled with a lock sign and grayed out. I'm not able to disable it. Because of this many of my blackberry apps don't work as it gives a message "The application has tried to open a connection that's not allowed by your IT policy". I tried all options and there's nothing to disable. This is a personal blackberry and I don't have an IT policy on it. I did all methods like wiping, formatting/resetting to factory settings acc. to blackberry site by running their reset app from PC etc etc. but nothing works I tried CrackUtil for blackberry and that worked and wiped the blackberry. I restored my bb and started using it just to notice that the firewall is enabled back after a desktop manager connection to PC. I even made sure the policy.bin file on PC is a regular one with no IT policy. How do I get this disabled? I had the same problem on my old blackberry 8330 and crackutil disabled the firewall. but after a few days after a desktop manager update of blackberry OS and other small stuff the firewall got enabled again. Please give me a solutions to disable the firewall on blackberry

  I am trying to use the TRACE target of IPtables but I can't seem to get any trace information logged. I want to use what is described here: Debugger for Iptables. From the iptables man for TRACE: This target marks packes so that the kernel will log every rule which match the packets as those traverse the tables, chains, rules. (The ipt_LOG or ip6t_LOG module is required for the logging.) The packets are logged with the string prefix: "TRACE: tablename:chain- name:type:rulenum " where type can be "rule" for plain rule, "return" for implicit rule at the end of a user defined chain and "policy" for the policy of the built in chains. It can only be used in the raw table. I use the following rule: iptables -A PREROUTING -t raw -p tcp -j TRACE but nothing is appended either in /var/log/syslog or /var/log/kern.log! Is there another step missing?   I have an Ubuntu 12.04 server virtual box where basically the installed software and configuration are the default ones, plus the installation of a jetty 6 server which servers a few websites. To keep things simple I didn't install apache httpd and used iptables for exposing jetty (which runs on the 8080 port) to the port 80. This thing works, but sometimes I have an explosion of sockets that stay permanently in CLOSE_WAIT state. I know about what this state means, but since I didn't write the code that manages servlets (they are handled by jetty) I can't fix the problem by patching my code. Eventually the amount of CLOSE_WAIT sockets builds up and makes the server not responsive, so I have to restart jetty. I've looked around for similar problems wth CLOSE_WAIT, and only found cases related to the programmer's code, or problems with Tomcat, not Jetty. I was wondering whether they could be related to a partially broken iptables configuration (the alternative is a bug in Jetty 6, but I first want to exclude other possible causes). Thanks.

• Connection failed between Windows Servers

  I'm setting up an infrastructure based on Windows Server 2012. The firewall is turned off and I can't access the Domain controller to check for the group policy. I'm experiencing some connection problem between servers. All the servers are running a site on the TCP Port 80 and I check with netstat that the web server is binding on every Ip of the servers. If i try to telnet from the server itself on the port 80 it works (using DNS name) if I try same telnet from another machine I get connection failed. The DNS works, the ping is successfull, the servers are on the same subnet, the firewall is turned off (even though windows advanced firewall says that some settings can be managed by the System Administrator, i guess group policy). I don't know how to troubleshoot further. Do you have any idea? Is that possible that the FW looks turned off but there are some group policy blocking the connections? (I also check group policy-Administrative Template-Network Connections- Windows FW everything is not configured) I need some hint on how to keep troubleshooting such a problem.

• iptables port redirection on Ubuntu

  I have an apache server running on 8100. When open http://localhost:8100 in browser we will see the site running correctly. Now I would like to direct all request on 80 to 8100 so that the site can be accessed without the port number. I am not familiar with iptables so I searched for solutions online. This is one of the methods that I have tried: user@ubuntu:~$ sudo iptables -A INPUT -p tcp --dport 80 -j ACCEPT user@ubuntu:~$ sudo iptables -A INPUT -p tcp --dport 8100 -j ACCEPT user@ubuntu:~$ sudo iptables -t nat -A PREROUTING -p tcp --dport 80 -j REDIRECT --to-ports 8100 It's not working. The site works on 8100 but it's not on 80.   Some questions: * Is there some way to view the data present in the iPhone keychain? * The items an application adds, cannot be accessed by any other application, can it? * What is the purpose of the identifier and access group in the initialization? My guess is that the identifier is simply used to find items but I'm a little bit unsure of the access group. If the access group is assigned nil, all applications can access the items? If the access group is assigned X, could the items be accessed by another application with the same string X as access group or what is the purpose of the access group in this case? * Is the data in the keychain removed when the application is removed? If not, how do I achieve that? And finally: I can't get the KeychainItemWrapper (Apple example) to work. I've added the KeychainItemWrapper files to my project and when running it on the phone, an exception is thrown by SecItemAdd, saying that one or more parameters were not valid (result code -50).   I have to query a Message that is in a provided list of Groups and has not been Deactivated by the current user. Here is some pseudo code to illustrate the properties and entities: class Message { private int messageId; private String messageText; } class Group { private String groupId; private int messageId; } class Deactivated { private String userId; private int messageId; } Here is an idea of what I need to query for, it's the last AND clause that I don't know how to do (I made up the compound NOT IN expression). Filtering the deactivated messages by userId can result in multiple messageIds, how can I check if that subset of rows does not contain the messageId? SELECT msg FROM Message msg, Group group, Deactivated unactive WHERE group.messageId = msg.messageId AND (group.groupId = 'groupA' OR group.groupId = 'groupB' OR ...) AND ('someUserId', msg.messageId) NOT IN (unactive.userId, unactive.messageId) I don't know the number of groupIds ahead of time -- I receive them as a Collection<String> so I'll need to traverse them and add them to the JPQL dynamically.

We will have a deal only with CatalogModel.catalog_root_group The problem is - this association does't work. I always get "catalog_root_group" equals to nil Also, i have tried to overcome the using of reference to root group ("catalog_root_group"), but i cannot construct appropriate search request in ruby ... • How do I show information to users belonging to different groups (web) in modx

  Hello Everyone, I have created a website using modx evolution v1.0.2. The website that I have developed has 12 different types of users (categorized in groups). Each user will be shown a different price depending on the group to which he belongs. Till now I have been able to fetch the group name of current logged in user (created a snippet for that), but how can I achieve the above mentioned functionality so that each user should be able to see only the price that I have coded according to his group. For example: If a user is associated with the 'ocassional' group then he should be shown the price as , say, 50 bucks and if a user is associated with the 'regular' group then he should be shown the price as, say, 40 bucks I can easily do this by coding a single snippet for every product's variant, but there are a lot of variants (more than 100 and growing). I have created a resource(page) for every product and it's variant. Every variant has a price. It is this price that I want to be shown according to the logged in user group membership. I hope I am able to explain my query clearly. Please help me do this functionality. Thanks

• How do I label a group of radio boxes for WCAG / 508 Compliance? Is ASP.NET doing it wrong?

  I am trying to bring an existing web site into greater conformance with WCAG 2.0 Guidelines and am a bit confused over the output emitted by Microsoft (ASP.NET 4.0 although it was the same in 3.5). Suppose you have a question like: "How would you rate your health?" and a set of 5 answers created using an ASP.NET RadioButtonList. I place the question in an asp:Label with an "AssociatedControlID" that matches the ID of the RadioButtonList (e.g. "SelfRatingBox"). Seems pretty easy... Only the output that is generated has an html "label" with a "For" that is equal to the ID of a table that wraps up the RadioButtons. I assumed that this would work with page readers but our 508 compliance guy is saying that the reader isn't associating the label with the radio controls. The WCAG guidelines indicate that you have to use a fieldset around the entire group and a legend to capture the associated text (the question). So what gives? It would be ideal if MS could take my label and the radiobuttonlist and generate the appropriate fieldset and legend tags but it seems pretty clear that to achieve WCAG compliance, I'll have to roll my own. Is this correct or am I missing something?

• Linked Measure Groups and Local Dimensions

  Mulling over something I've been reading up on. According to Chris Webb, A linked measure group can only be used with dimensions from the same database as the source measure group. So I took this to mean as long as two cubes share a database, a linked measure group can be used with a dimension. So I created a new cube and added a local measure group, a local dimension and a linked measure group. However, I can't create a relationship between the linked measure group and the local dimension even though they are within the same database. I get the message below: Regular relationships in the current database between non-linked (local) dimensions and linked measure groups cannot be edited. These relationship can only be created through the wizard. This dialog can be used to delete these relationships. I see that I can go to the original cube and add the dimension there, but does the message below mean I have an alternative? I just know it's going to be something simple and trivial!   I'm building a controller to manage group based ACL in CakePHP and when I create or edit a group I want to be able to select what permissions it has. The group data table only stores a group ID and a group Name as the permissions are stored in the ACO/ARO table. I have an array from the ACO that I want to turn into a set of checkboxes so you can check them to allow access from that group to that ACO. So first off, how do I turn this array into a set of checkboxes. The array looks like this: array( [0] => array( [Aco] => array( [alias] => 'alias' [id] => 1) [children] => array ( [0] => array( [Aco]=> ...etc )) [1] => array( ...etc ) My next question is how can I check these once the form has been submitted to the controller to allow the selected actions? [Update] Ok changing the angle of my question, how can I use the Form helper to create forms that are not based on any Model?

  Hi I have a ol list: <ol> <li class="group1">item 1</li> <li class="group1">item 2</li> <li class="group2"> item 3</li> <li class="group3">item 4</li> <li class="group1">item 5</li> <li class="group3"> item 6</li> <ol> and a set of checkboxes which correspond to the class names <input type="checkbox" value="group1" />group 1 <input type="checkbox" value="group2" />group 2 <input type="checkbox" value="group3" />group 3 What I want to happen is that when a user clicks on a checkbox to 'tick' it, any li rows which are not checked are fadedOut (change opacity) and then any rows which have the class which matches the value of the checkbox are highlighter (background colour changed to yellow). So for example if group 3 was clicked, item 4 and item 6 would be highlighted. Then if group 2 was clicked item 3 would be highlighted (item 4 and 6 would remain highlighted). If group 2 was un-ticked, item 3 would become faded out although item 4 and 6 would remain highlighted. The code I have at the moment is: $('input').click(function(){ input = $(this); classVal = "." + input.val(); elements = $(classVal ); if (input.is(':checked')) { elements.css("background-color", "#FFFF00"); } else { elements.css("background-color", ""); } }); This handles the highlighting but does not do the fading of the unchecked elements. I know I can change the opacity using css("opacity", 0.33) or fadeTo("slow", 0.33) but not sure how to handle this in the code and where to put it. • hibernate insert to a collection causes a delete then all the items in the collection to be inserted

  I have a many to may relationship CohortGroup and Employee. Any time I insert an Employee into the CohortGroup hibernate deletes the group from the resolution table and inserts all the members again, plus the new one. Why not just add the new one? • SQLAlchemy Mapping problem

  Dear Everyone, I am trying to sqlalchemy to correctly map my data. Note that a unified group is basically a group of groups. (One unifiedGroup maps to many groups but each group can only map to one ug). So basically this is the definition of my unifiedGroups: CREATE TABLE `unifiedGroups` ( `ugID` INT AUTO_INCREMENT, `gID` INT NOT NULL, PRIMARY KEY(`ugID`, `gID`), KEY( `gID`) ) ENGINE=MyISAM DEFAULT CHARSET=utf8 ; Note that each row is a ugID, gID tuple. ( I do not know before hand how many gID is per ugID so this is probably the most sensible and simplest method). • Web Applications Development: Security practices for Application design

  Hi, As I am creating more web applications that are targeted for multiple users, I figured out that I have to start thinking about user management and security. At a glance and in my ideal world, all users belong to a group. Permissions and access is thus defined per group (and inherited by the users of that group). Logically, I have my group of administrators, which are identified with a level "7" (integer) clearance. A group of webusers have for example level "1". This in generally all works great for me, but I need some kind of list that I have to keep in mind how I secure my system, and some general practices. I am not looking for a specific environment; I want to learn the why's and how's. An example is privilege escalation. If someone would be able to "push" themselves inside a group with higher privileges, for example the Administration, how can I prevent this, or what measures should I take to have some sort of precaution? I don't like in that case to walk into a caveat. My question is basically: where can I find a good resource, list, policy, book that explains the security of web applications, the why's, the how's and readable if you don't have any experience in the realm of advanced security? I prefer a free resource, as I believe I couldn't be the first one who thought about this. Thank you for your answers, comments and feedback.

• can bind successfully to the ldap server, but needs to know how to find user w/i AD

  I create a login form to bind to the ldap server, if successful, it creates a session (which the user's username is stored within), then I go to another page that has session_start(); and it works fine. What I want to do now, is add code to test if that user is a member of a specific group. So in theory, this is what I want to do if(username session is valid) { search ldap for user -> get list of groups user is member of foreach(group they are member of) { switch(group) { case STAFF: print 'they are member of staff group'; $access = true; break; default: print 'not a member of STAFF group'; $access = false; break; } if(group == STAFF) { break; } } if($access == TRUE) { // you have access to the content on this page } else { // you do not have access to this page } } How do I do a ldap_search w/o binding? I don't want to keep asking for their password on each page, and I can't pass their password thru a session. Any help is appreciated.

• ajax checkbox filter

  I need some help with a checkbox filter I am working in. I have four groups of checkboxes (type, vehicle, availability, price) and I would like to filter the content on the page based on the user's input. I can get the filter working OK but I am having issues with the groups. I can only seem to match one checkbox from each group rather than all checkboxes from each group. For example, a visitor can select 1 option in group 1, all options in group 2, 1 option in group three and 1 option in group 4.
