• visual basic coach needed [closed]

  0 down vote favorite I am trying to learn visual basic. I used to program in gw-basic and have trouble learning vb.net by reading and googling all the time. It takes so much time to find the answers to my programming problems and even then i do not understand the why it have to be done that way. I have beginners questions like finding childwindows using enumwindow. Then googling for hours and hours i do not seem to grasp it (must be my old age). I would like to get someone i could learn from by asking questions about what i want to program and learn from it. not to just finish the program but to learn and understand it too. Someone who dont find questions stupid to ask as i try to build my understanding of the visual basic environment. I hope to communicate by using skype voice or chat or other direct means when time permits it. Cheers, Danny

• Apache/passenger/ree doesn't interpret .rb files

  I'm trying to get apache + passenger + ree to work. I think I did everything (except for setting up rails env - for now I wanna run just pure ruby) described here: http://rvm.beginrescueend.com/integration/passenger/ But when I try to go to localhost/test.rb it doesn't interpret that file and just download it.   Possible Duplicate: migrating PR / rankings from one site to another Ive been writing a blog for the past yr or so, with about 300 published articles, the blog have been running under a subdomain blog.mysite.com We are no looking to change the url of our site, so the blog is going to have to be ported over to a subdoamin on the new site. We would really like to keep the backlog / archive of all the articles we have written but dont wont to be penalized for having duplicate content, could we just remove / unindex the urls from google in webmaster tools then export the blog and import it back to our new blog ? Would google still see this a duplicate content or becuase ive removed the urls have they no longer got a copy of it ? thanks

  Hi My name is Sam and I am 23 right know.I have graduated a year back in the domain of computer science.I am currently working as SAP SD consultant and have a project under my belt. Currently working in SAP seems price less as people are dieing for it but at the same time I have really strong academics and many people are forcing me to apply for masters abroad for which I have to leave this job.This decision seems to be really tough. This decision of moving to SAP sometimes makes me happy as it is valuable and on the other hand my technical skills are completey dieing. Most of my accomplishers in my family dont encourage me to be in SAP especially in USA and consider it as a mediocre career. Was my decision right or should I move back to technical and go for MS???

• setting up mod_proxy - plesk, apache, .htacess?

  I want to set up mod_proxy to work so that my blog is running under a subdirectory of my site rather than subdomain so i get the seo backlink benefit. What im looking to do is get my tumblr blog which is running at blog.mysite.com (which is in turn mapped from myblog.tumblr.com) will be running on mysite.com/blog How can i set up mod_proxy to do this, is it just something that i can setup from inside of my .htacess file ? Ive got my site hosted on an apache server, using plesk as a controll panel.   I'm printing a PDF file by executing a commandline application from within my C# application. Now I wanna know when this job is printed. I was hoping there would be some kind of event I could subscribe to, and handle it. But I couldn't find it. So now I'm resorting to polling. And checking the JobStatus of a PrinterSystemJobInfo object. But in my case this either gives me JobStatus = None or JobStatus = Printing. PrinterSystemJobInfo.JobStatus Can someone tell me how to reliably check a print job status using C#?

Just to clarify for you all, the recent 'rollup' patch, 9546699 that I blogged a while back supersedes all other patches for the standalone release. If you have an issue and log an SR, please ensure you have applied 9546699 and re-checked the issue. There are so many fixes and enhancements in that patch that your issue may be fixed or addressed. • Keyboard shortcuts are not working when unity plugin in ccsm is disabled?

  I am using ubuntu 11.10 with unity 2d , I dont like the unity launcher and use Docky . So , i have created a new seeion and using some tweaking and playing around i have been successful to get rid of the unity launcher and make a perfect interface that i like , but there are two problems .. Keyboard shortcuts not working I had to disable the ubuntu unity plugin in ccsm to get rid of the unity laucher..when it is enabled , i can use the keyboard shortcuts such as alt+tab etc .. But when i disable it , I am unable to use some shortcuts , I can still use some shortcuts like alt+F4 ect. When I maximise a window , it used to show two window (close , maximise , minimize )buttons and title bars So , i set the window decoration in ccsm to !maxvert from any , and it is working fine for most of the time until i try to snsp the window to a side then the title bar just disappears , leaving space between the panel and the window , I cant close this window until i use the alt+mouse to drag it out , because no buttons would be displayed ..

  Hi! I have a UITabBarController with four UINavigationControllers. Well, I want to enable the rotation just for one of the four UIViewControllers. According to Apple's doc you shouldn't subclass UITabBarController, so I don't wanna do that. All UIViewControllers should support the same orientations that it works, but that's not what I want. How can the single UIViewController, which should support the rotation, detect that the device has changed its orientation? Because unless all the UIViewControllers added to the UITabBarControllers support the same orientation, the methods of the UIViewController for managing the rotation aren't called. I've been searching now for a while, but I haven't already found a pleasant answer. I guess a lot of developers wonder how to manage that. I already thank you for your answer.

• Isometric drawing "Not Tile Stuff" on isometric map?

  So I got my isometric renderer working, it can draw diamond or jagged maps...Then I want to move on...How do I draw characters/objects on it in a optimal way? What Im doing now, as one can imagine, is traversing my grid(map) and drawing the tiles in a order so alpha blending works correctly. So, anything I draw in this map must be drawed at the same time the map is being drawn, with sucks a lot, screws your very modular map drawer, because now everything on the game (but the HUD) must be included on the drawer.. I was thinking whats the best approach to do this, comparing the position of all objects(not tile stuff) on the grid against the current tile being draw seems stupid, would it be better to add an id ON the grid(map)? this also seems terrible, because objects can move freely, not per tile steps (it can occupies 2 tiles if its between them, etc.) Dont know if matters, but my grid is 3D, so its not a plane with objects poping out, its a bunch of pilled cubes.

  I have been developing a toy editor, and I want my editor to look like the VS2010 text editor which can be dragged out of the main window to become a independent window and the dragged-out window can be maximized when it's dragged to the top of the screen, and can be docked by being dragged to the left or right side of the screen(which is a new feature in Win7). So I tried to use AvalonDock(a codeplex project) to do that.But I found the dragged-out DocumentContent(a class in AvalonDock,it inherits from ContentControl) is not treated like a real window in Win7. So I wanna know that What kind of window can be docked by being dragged to the left/right side or the top of the screen in Win7? Thanks!!

• Converting web.config from IIS6 to IIS7 format

  I'm a bit stuck, kinda been lumbered with a website developed over a year ago. The company that designed it and the company that own it dont now speak so I have been lumbered with trying to get it to work. Bought the web space and have loaded it on to one of our sub domains while I get it working. Problem is that the Hosting provider is running ISS7 and the web.config was designed in IIS6 so am getting an error500 cause the tags are wrong. Could anyone give me some pointers on how to migrate the current web.config file over to IIS7.

But I wanted to add a new Menu Item for Compressing as ZIP without opening any other option dialog. Step 2: I wanted to Compress a file as ZIP and Rename it as a "epub". Please let me know is it possible to zip&rename by adding single menu Item? Im using Ubuntu 11.04 and Installed "Nautilus-Action-Configurations", but unsuccessful. N.B.
