• Telerik RadAjaxManager and Mouse Events in Chrome

  Whenever I'm using Telerik's RadAjaxManager in Chrome, the events sent to any mouse events I'm using are passed as null. For instance, the following: <img id="Image1" src="image.gif" onclick="alert(event)" /> <rad:RadAjaxManager ID="RadAjaxManager1" runat="server"> <AjaxSettings> </AjaxSettings> </rad:RadAjaxManager> Alerts null when clicking the image. This does not happen in IE or FF. The version of the RadAjaxManager is 1.8.5.0. I'm guessing the problem does not occur in later versions, but an upgrade is not an option at the moment. I tried Telerik's support forum, but they didn't really provide any answer. What could cause such a problem? And how can it be dealt with?

• Twitter + OAuth Problem -- Cancel Button

  Hi everyone, I'm implementing OAuth to post on Twitter... which works perfectly. My issue is for those who entered the Twitter login area by accident and want to press the "Cancel" button. Unfortunately, the "Cancel" button is dismissed but then immediately reappears. • jQuery show submit button on input field click

  Hi, I'm trying to have a comment input field that will show the submit button on a dynamically created form when you click on the input field. Similar to how facebook comments work. When you click on the input field the submit button appears and when you click off it disappears. All the comment input id's are comment_1 etc and the submit button id's are submit_1 etc. I've tried this, jQuery("#[id^='comment_']").live('click',function(event){ if(jQuery("#[id^='comment_']").val() == ""){ jQuery("#[id^='submit_']").hide(); } else { jQuery("#[id^='submit_']").show(); } }); And that won't work for some reason. Any suggestion or how it can be accomplished would be great.

• overflow-x AND Middle Mouse Button Moving

  My Page is 980px in Width, but I have a few design elements (which belong with the background). I positioned them with position: absolute;. This creates a horizontal scrollbar for those who have a =< 1024 resolution. I disabled that scrollbar with overflow-x:hidden on (and for IE7 and etc). However, when I hold my middle mouse button,(i think this applies to laptop touchpads as well) it let's me move around to the right, is it possible to fix this with anything? (javascript, css)? Tested this issues in Chrome, IE, Firefox.

• Screen scraping an application window and interacting with the mouse and keyboard

  The other day I found myself addicted to a flash game and frustrated by the thing at the same time. In a moment of frustration with the game I thought I would make a 'bot' to beat it for me. Well, I really wouldn't, but it made me realize: I don't know how to interact with another application in a way to do this. Which brings me to the question, how would one take screenshots of another running application and interact with it with the keyboard and mouse. Ideally the solution would be in a managed language like c#. When doing the background reading the net was drowning with articles on scrapping HTML. There were not many articles on actually screen scrapping an application. Diverse answers are appreciated as I’m really looking at surveying what’s out there.

  has the HTML version changed lately (like from ie7 to IE8?) I notice the following change that cause me some troulbe - I am having a code that is similar to this: <form method="POST" action="/admin/modify"> <input type="text"/> <button onclick="dosomething()">Press</button> </form> <script type="text/javascript"> function doSomething(){ // doesn't matter what actually } </script> What is weired to me in this code is that by pressing the button inside the form, all I want is to perform some javascript action but eventaully it causes the form to be submitted too, even when I am not willing to do it. So - is it true? and if so how can I perform some java script actoin inside a from but prevent the form from being submitted automatically?

I need it to keep the controll pressed longer and return while it's still pressed to continue running the code. Is there a maybe lower level way of saying press the key and then later in the code tell it to lift up the key such as like what the mouse is doing?

• Back Button gets Disabled on IE 7,8 for an ASP.NET site

  In an ASP.NET 3.5 website we are noticing that the back button is not working properly. If the user does several postbacks (say 10 times), and than starts pressing back button - the back button gets disabled before the user gets through all the pages. The site does not use AJAX.net. I can reproduce the issue on IE 7 and 8 almost always. The problem seems to be with some sort of limit IE has on History Cache for a given tab/instance. In the tests I did the post request to the server are large - around 83k, and the responses are are round 300k. It seems that with these request sizes the history does not hold more than 4 items. The moment I get to the 5 post, the first item i had selected is dropped.

  I have an app that I want to interact with a web page. Basically I want to press a button and the web page will open in a new view... Sorry I wasn't clear, I am developing on a Mac for an iPhone. Currently I have a "locate me" app that displays your Latitude and Longitude. I want to use those variables to populate 2 of the blanks on a PHP web page/form I have developed. I have added a label and button to my current app, when the button is pressed the URL with the Lat and Long (as passed vars) are displayed in the label. I want those vars to appear on my web page. Hope this is clearer... Now my query is that irrespective of ValidateValue() returning true/false __doPostBack('ApplyBtn','') function is not showing any effect for me. My understanding is that string passed to onclick acts like function body, and return will from first function will return control preventing second function from execution. Is that correct ?   This is probably a dumb question, but I can't find the answer in the docs. Did the "Done" button on the pop-up keyboard always cause the keyboard to disappear? I see a lot of code around the web like this: - (BOOL)textFieldShouldReturn:(UITextField *)theTextField { [theTextField resignFirstResponder]; return YES; } When I press the "Done" button, the keyboard pops down and the UITextField resigns first responder. I'm presuming that pressing the "Done" button didn't used to cause a UITextField to resignFirstResponder, but that behavior changed at some time. I'm debugging on OS 3.0 - 3.1.3

• VS 2010 / Resharper 5 Mouse Behavior

  After upgrading to the above configuration I notice that 1) CTRL-Click on a type highlights the type but doesn't take me to the declaration, 2) Clicking on some closure (ie, like a method) toggles whether it's expanded or collapsed. Since these are both mouse related tasks I figure there is some setting in either VS or R# that I need to change, but I sure can't figure out what it is. Anybody know? Cheers, Berryl PS - there is an option in R# to ctrl-click to the type but I have that checked and it still does not work.

Why does it do this and can I stop it?   Hello, I have a application that allows a user to choose some parameters for a powerpoint report, run the report, then allow the user to "save" or "open" the powerpoint file. I got all of that working OK. When you click on "run" report, it pops open a window which generates the report, stores it in session, then closes the window. I have a button on the main page that will export the report. So, now, when the pop up window that generates the report is finished, i use "window.opener" to call a javascript method on the main page, that will do a javascript click of the button. when this button is pressed, Internet Explorer gives me the following message : "To help protect your security, Internet Explorer blocked this site from downloading files to your computer.." Do you guys know of any tricks around this?

  I want to implement a widget (with some edit boxes and sliders) that would open beneath or next to a button ("Opener") when I hover it. The key is it's a temporary widget - as soon as it loses focus, I want it gone. Also, I want it to pop up right next to the Opener, ideally pointing an arrow to Opener. So, it's basically a tooltip. But it needs to be a widget with buttons and sliders and stuff like that. Is there a clever way to implement it without making a custom widget and writing handlers for all the mouse and focus events and recomputing its ideal position every time I open it or the Opener moves?
