    - by kpraveenreddy
How can I tar multiple directories and also append files with some pattern like '.txt' and exclude some directories and exclude some patterns like '.exe' all into a single tar file. The main point is the number of directories are unknown(dynamic), so I need to loop through..I guess?

  • How can I run a Perl program when I don't have ssh or shell access?

    - by Christopher
I just installed an IRC bot, B****X (Don't ask, I don't know - the real name is not censored). I did all of the configuration and chmod'ed the pl files to 755, but running it won't work. My host does not allow SSH/Shell (which is how the documentation says to runs he script), but just going to the URL usually works because of this. However, I get a 500 (Internal Server Error) error. I have logged errors and you can find them at http://services.cl58tools.co.cc/irc/errors.txt Thanks in advance

I want to write something in a file. for example, fo=open('C:\Python\readline_test.txt','a') for i in range(3): st='abc'+'\n' fo.write(st) fo.close then I open this python file in IDLE, and click "Run Module". There is no error message but I find the writing is not complete if I didn't quit IDLE. How can I complete the file writing without quitting the IDLE? Thanks. (I use Python 2.6.2 on Windows XP.)

  • java filenames filter pattern

    - by Sergey
Hello, I need to implement File[] files = getFiles( String folderName, String ptrn ); Where ptrn is a command prompt style pattern like "*2010*.txt" I'm familar with FilenameFilter class, but can't implement public boolean accept(File dir, String filename) because String.matches() doesn't accept such patterns. Thanks!

  • Microsoft Public License in commercial Silverlight application?

    - by badra
I'm developing a commercial silverlight application using some third party libraries that are published under Microsoft Public License (MPL). I have to include the license text into my product which is somewhat strange in an silverlight application. In a normal desktop application I would just include the license als a .txt but I've no idea how to do it in silverlight without including in in an about dialog or something similar. Are there any other issues involved which I missed?

  • How to upload contents of a file to a UITextView?

    - by Mike Rychev
Hello! I have about twenty UITextViews and corresponding .txt files. What I want is to make each UITextView take the contents of the corresponding file and display it. Moreover, the text is formatted and it contains some formulas (copy/pasted from Grapher). I've heard about displaying formatted text in UIWebView, but I haven't found a clear explanation anywhere. Thanks in advance!

  • Where are the java swing String for me to translate?

    - by Tom Brito
The JFileChooser don't provide support for my language, I'd translate strings defined in the file http://www.rgagnon.com/javadetails/JavaUIDefaults.txt with the UIManager.put(), but I'm not finding the popup strings ("view", "refresh" and "new folder" options when you right-click). Does anyone know where can I find them to translate?

    - by Phil
I am handling errors via my global.asax in this method: Dim CurrentException As Exception CurrentException = Server.GetLastError() Dim LogFilePath As String = Server.MapPath("~/Error/" & DateTime.Now.ToString("dd-MM-yy.HH.mm") & ".txt") Dim sw As System.IO.StreamWriter = New System.IO.StreamWriter(LogFilePath) sw.WriteLine(DateTime.Now.ToString) sw.WriteLine(CurrentException.ToString()) sw.Close() In my code I currently have no other error handling. Should I still insert try, catch, finally blocks? Thanks.

    - by aussiegeek
I have a script running on Ruby 1.9.1 on Windows 7 I've distilled my script down to File.open("????.txt") and still can't get it to work. I know there are issues with Ruby 1.9 filename handling on windows (Using the Windows ANSI library), but would be happy enough with a work around that is callable from Ruby
