  • Mapping individual buttons on ASP.NET MVC View to controller actions

    I have an application where I need the user to be able to update or delete rows of data from the database. The rows are displayed to the user using a foreach loop in the .aspx file of my view. Each row will have two text fields (txtName, txtDesc), an update button, and a delete button. What I'm not sure of, is how do I have the update button send the message to the controller for which row to update? I can see a couple way of doing this: Put each row within it's own form tag, then when the update button is clicked, it will submit the values for that row only (there will also be a hidden field with the rowId) and the controller class would take all the post values as parameters to the Update method on the controller. Somehow, have the button be scripted in a way to send back only the values for that row with a POST to the controller. Is there a way of doing this? One thing I am concerned about is if each row has different names for it's controls assigned by ASP.NET (txtName1, txtDesc1, txtName2, txtDesc2), then how will their values get mapped to the correct parameters of the Controller method?

  • Samba domain controller: remove 1 Windows client

    my domain is controlled by a Samba domain controller running on openSUSE 11.3. It manages other openSUSE boxes and some Windows 7 boxes. Now one harddisk of a Windows 7 computer crashed and I had to reinstall. I wasn't able to get the computer name ("Win26") of the broken PC out of the domain and so I couldn't add the reinstalled "Win26" to the domain again. So how can I remove the entry of the old "Win26" computer out of the domain controller, so that I can add the new "Win26" to the domain again? Is it one configuration file I have to edit and restart Samba? Which file would this be? Thanks in advance for your help! Regards, KB

  • Best way to backup Active Directory with a single domain controller

    I have a domain with about 15 users and a single Windows Server 2008 domain controller. Some recent issues with my RAID controller have made me reconsider how I go about securing the AD data. Currently I run a System State Backup nightly. However, it seems that it is impossible (or at least difficult and unsupported) to restore that to any other machine than the one from which it was taken. Adding a second DC to the domain seems expensive and overkill for such a small network. Is there no other way to backup the AD data?

  • Adding a view with a view controller as a subview of another view controller. Doesn't work.

    I'm trying to essentially re-implement the UISplitViewController (because it has its limits), but when I create a UIViewController viewController, and then do an "[viewController.view addSubview contentViewController.view]" on it, to add a view that already has a view controller, that content view doesn't seem to get initialised by its view controller. I guess its view controller is getting detached or deallocated, is this the case?

    first of all, I am total noob when it comes to OOP in JS, this is new to me so treat me like a noob. I am building my first ember.js application and I am stuck (not the first time but I would get unstuck by myself, this is a tough one though). I have two models: forms entries Entries is of course in (one to many) relationship to forms, so each form can have as many properties. Form properties: id : DS.attr( 'number' ), title : DS.attr( 'string' ), views : DS.attr( 'number' ), conversion : DS.attr( 'number' ), entries : DS.hasMany( 'entry' ) Entry properties: id : DS.attr( 'number' ), parent_id: DS.belongsTo( 'form' ) Now, I have forms route that displays all forms in tabled view, and each table row has some info like form id, name etc. and that works great. What I wanted to do is display the number of entries each form has. I figured I should do that via controller, so here is my controller now: // Form controller App.FormController = Ember.ObjectController.extend({ entriescount: function() { var entries = this.get( 'store').find( 'entry' ); return entries.filterBy( 'parent_id', this.get( 'id' ) ).get( 'length' ); }.property( '[email protected]_id') }); Now for some reason, when I use {{entriescount}} in {{#each}} loop, this returns nothing. It also returns nothing in single form route. Note that in both cases, {{title}} for example works. I am wondering, am I going the right way by using controller for this, and how do I get controller to output the data. Thanks

  • HighPoint RAID Controller can't see drives

    I've just built a system with a HighPoint 2720 RAID controller. Everything appears to be OK, except that the controller doesn't see any of my drives - the RAID BIOS displays "ERROR. No Suitable disks". I have tried a WD SATA, Seagate SATA, and OCZ Vertex 3 SATA. I am using MiniSAS to 4x SATA breakout cables. How do I get this working? I've tried to sign up for HighPoint support, but their support site doesn't appear to be functioning correctly.

  • Apache will not start with mod_wsgi enabled

    I'm trying to run Apache with mod_wsgi to run Python scripts. The server is running Ubuntu 12.04 with Zend Server installed, but when I enable the wsgi module Apache will not start. I get an error message of "apache2: apr_sockaddr_info_get() failed" in the error log. I installed the module using the Debian package. I can't seem to find this specific problem anywhere so maybe it's a problem with Zend Server? I'm stumped. Thanks

But the actions performed on UI are same irrespective of order type. I am trying to implement a single controller capable of managing all views. Something similar to the one below: @Controller public class OrderController<F extends Order> { public F validate(F order) { } public F insert(F order) { } } I am not sure how spring mvc would be able to map request parameters properly to the order instance as it doesn't know which order instance to populate. Is it possible to achieve this with single controller or should I go with a controller for each order type and duplicate same code across all controllers?

    I am looking to translate my skills in .NET to PHP - specifically in regards to ASP.NET MVC. At work I am currently using .NET MVC 2.0 on a variety of projects and thoroughly enjoy the platform. Specifically I enjoy the very minimal configuration required to get a project up and running (just create the project, define routes, and start coding), as well as the ability for controller actions to return different items (i.e. ActionResult, JsonResult). Another piece I really like is the way the view/model interaction can be handled. For example I like being able to call return View(model) and having a view page (.aspx) load and having the full model object available to the view, regardless of the model type. I'm looking for a PHP implementation of MVC that is the most similiar to what I am already familiar with. I don't anything apart from the MVC functionality. I've looked at Zend, Symfony, CodeIgniter, etc. and, while they look like they'll be fun to play with in the future, they provide much more functionality than I need. I'd prefer to write my own DAL,form helpers, delegate handlers,authentication/ACL pieces, etc. In short, I just need something to handle the routing and view interactions and will worry about the model implementation myself. Can someone please point me to some lightweight code that accomplishes or comes close to accomplishing my objectives above. Or, can someone identify just the portions of a larger framework that do the same (again, I'm not currently interested in implementing something on a big framework, just the MVC portion and want to implement the model portion myself as much as possible). The Doctrine query to retreive friend list id follwing $friends = Doctrine_Query::create()->from('my_friends as mf') ->leftJoin('mf.users as friend') ->where("mf.user_id = 25") ->andWhere("mf.approved = 1"); Suppose I am viewing the user no.- 25. With this query I am only getting the user no.- 30. where as user no.- 25 is also approved friend of user no.- 20 and 21. Please guide me, what should be the query to find all friend and is there any need to change the DB structure.

    I've been using YADIF (yet another dependency injection framework) in a PHP/Zend app I'm working on to handle dependencies. This has achieved some notable benefits in terms of testing and decoupling classes. However,one thing that strikes me is that despite the sleight of hand performed when using this technique, the method names impart a degree of coupling. Probably not the best example -but these methods are distinct from ... say the PEAR Mailer. The method names themselves are a (subtle) form of coupling //example public function __construct($dic){ $this->dic = $dic; } public function example(){ //this line in itself indicates the YADIF origin of the DIC $Mail= $dic->getComponent('mail'); $Mail->setBodyText($body); $Mail->setFrom($from); $Mail->setSubject($subject); } I could write a series of proxies/wrappers to hide these methods and thus promote decoupling from , but this seems a bit excessive. You have to balance purity with pragmatism... How far would you go to hide the dependencies in your classes?
