    Hello, I'm trying to open a write-protected ms excel 2007 file using win32com in python -- I know the password. I can open it with user input of the password into the excel dialog box. I want to be able to open the file without any user interaction. I've tried the following, but it still pops up the dialog box. app.Workbooks.Open("filename.xls", WriteResPassword="secret") Any ideas what I'm doing wrong please? Thanks, Dave.

    I am using jQuery's thickbox.js pluging, for a modal dialog box that will appear when some one first loads the website(as a welcome banner), and after clicking on "enter site" they should be logged in to my home page. But the problem is "Modal dialog box appear's to be empty in some system(i.e OS), with same configuration, and shows only the loading progress bar". it works in some system only.. please help to find the problem??

    I have a jQueryUI dialog with some textboxes, plus a button. Right now, the asp:Button tag used to generate the button automatically sets its type as type="submit". The structure of the dialog is such that pressing enter at any of the textboxes should not call the button click event. It seems like the cleanest way to solve the problem, if it is doable, is to manually set the button's type to something other than submit. Is there a way to do this?

All apps launch from 1 program, Word for example has this link: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\microsoft shared\Virtualization Handler\CVH.EXE" "Microsoft Word 2010 (Beta) 2014006204190000" Or OneNote: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\microsoft shared\Virtualization Handler\CVH.EXE" "Microsoft OneNote 2010 (Beta) 2014006204190000" Because of that I can't associate files with Office programs in file properties, they actually associate with “Microsoft Office Client Virtualization Handler” (CVH.EXE). Anyone know another way to do that?

  • Unusual Apache->Tomcat caching issue.

    Right now, I have an Apache setup sitting in front of Tomcat to handle caching. This setup has been given to an external service to manage, and since the transition, I've noticed odd behavior. Specifically, when I request a swf file from the web server, I hit the Apache cache (good), but occasionally I'll receive a truncated file. Once I receive this truncated file, the cache will NOT refresh until I manually delete the cache and let the swf pull down from tomcat again. The external service claims that the configuration is fine, but I don't see any way this could be happening aside from improper configuration. Now, there are two apache and two tomcat servers under a load balancer, and occasionally one apache cache will break while another does not (leading to 50% of all requests getting bad, truncated data). Where should I start looking to debug this issue? What could POSSIBLY be causing this odd behavior?     I've just found that my WSS 3.0 server had two OWSTIMER.EXE services running: SharePoint Timer Service v11 "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\60\BIN\OWSTIMER.EXE" Windows SharePoint Services Timer v12 "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\12\BIN\OWSTIMER.EXE" Since I'm running WSS v3, I was expecting to have only one SharePoint Timer instance, and that should be the one in th "12" folder. Should I just stop the other service and keep only the "Windows SharePoint Services Timer" (v12) running?
