  • How can I make a universal construction more efficient?

    A "universal construction" is a wrapper class for a sequential object that enables it to be linearized (a strong consistency condition for concurrent objects). Is it possible extend memory recycling without extending the interface (perhaps my new methods trivialize the problem)? My implementation only reduces memory when a thread returns, so can this be strengthened? [1] provided an implementation for WFQ<T>, not WFQD<T> - one does exist, though, correct?   • Copy SQL 2005 view result column headers?

    Is there a way to copy View output column headers along with the data? There is a setting in Options to include column headers with query results, but that only works with "New Query" and Stored Procedure output. Looks like SSMS 2008 has this functionality built in to the contextual menu when you right click on results, but I only have 2005. Am I out of luck? Thanks for any help.

I.e., in our report I want to say "zerocopy is X millisecs, and ??? is Y millisecs." What word/phrase should I use?

  • Easy way to convert and copy a solution to VS 2010

    We have a VS2005 solution and I want to convert it to VS2010. I figured an easy way to keep the old solution around (for other developers) is to create new sln and proj files specific to 2010. I hoped that the conversion wizard would do this easily but it doesn't seem to. Anyone know an easy way to copy all .sln and .csproj files, then convert to VS2010?

  • Automatically copy new Jar file to Tomcat project WEB-INF/lib folder

    I am developing a Tomcat app (actually it's a Red5 app, but this is effectively the same). This contains the usual /WebContent/WEB-INF/lib folder, which is where I locate the various jars it uses. Recently, I pulled a package out of my app project, and converted into a separate Jar project which was then released as open source (this resides in the same workspace). What I want, is that when I build my Tomcat app, that Eclipse automatically pulls the latest version of the Jar I have built into its /WebContent/WEB-INF/lib folder. This is the behaviour you get with .NET when you reference one project from another, and I guess this is why I was expecting to find some way of doing it. At the moment, I have to manually copy/paste the Jar across each time I build it. Of course, ideally when I build my Tomcat app it would automatically detect if the Jar project was up-to-date too, and build it if not. Any suggestions most gratefully received.

    Possible Duplicate: Why are statements in many programming languages terminated by semicolons? I just found out that R Programming Language, which is somewhat belong to the C family (I'm not sure about this but it uses {} instead of begin end), uses a new line as a delimiter for a new line of code instead of the semi-colon ;. Why is some programming language designed to use a new line instead of a symbol like semi-colon which I think will make the code more readable?   • Problem with svn copy command

    Hi, Has anyone encountered something like this? I was expecting file.txt to be inside "testbranch/src/" folder after executing the command written command. But I get entry at "testbranch/src" to be a file type rather than directory type!
