• Passing to service custom class instance in WCF

  Hi, I have my custom class Customer with its properties. I added DataContract mark above the class and DataMember to properties and it was working fine, but I'm calling a service class's function, passing customer instance as parameter and some of my properties get 0 values. While debugging I can see my properties values and after it gets to the function, some properties' values are 0. Why it can be so? There's no code between this two actions. DataContract mark workes fine, everything's ok. Any suggestions on this issue? I tried to change ByRef to ByVal, but it doesn't change anything. Why it would pass other values right and some of integer types just 0? Maybe the answer is simple, but I can't figure it out.   We create a custom Doclet for our projet to generate a specific documentation for our client. We define some specific tags that are parsed by the doclet when we generate the documentation. Do you know how to ask eclipse to add warning when those special tags are missing in our javadoc comments ? Example of well formed javadoc: /** * @dialogName TECK-01-E-608 * @useVO ServiceVO * @useVO AgentVO */ public class MyDialog extends BaseDialogImpl { ... If @dialogName is missing, the developper should have a warning in eclipse... I look checkstyle a little bit, but I don't understand how to configure it to do such a thing. • Running a custom VirtualPathProvider with a PreCompiled website

  Hi, currently I have a custom VirtualPathProvider in a Asp.net MVC web application. This VirtualPathProvider checks the Area from the route "/{Area}/{Controller}/..." and uses the NameSpace.{Area}.Main.dll module to return the views that are contained in that assembly as Embedded Resources. This works great and I don't have to deploy any ascx, js, css files. Now my problem is this: I would like to precompile the aspx and ascx files in the assembly and instead of having the views as embedded resources I would have the view class with all the Response.Write and dings and dongs. I can precompile the views using the aspnet_compiler but I keep getting an error when ever the ViewEngine tries to find the view and fails. My main goal is to have a way for the first time usage of a certain view/usercontrol would be faster and don't wait for the compilation to happen. This is a requirement since the application could be grouped into plugins and this plugins be deployed into the Bin directory. Any thoughts? With best regards Carlos Sobrinho

• Data in custom attribute not returned in UserProfile object in MOSS

  I've created two new custom attributes in the UserProfile. When the service we wrote returns data about a specific user by using the UserProfile object, sometimes the data isn't returned, even though if we look at the user in SSP it look populated. Some users work; this is the first user we set up with data. I'm not sure if sometime in the meantime after setting up the first user and testing, if there's something we ran and need to run again. How can I get all the users to get their data returned in a call to their UserProfile?

• Entity Framework Custom T4 Template

  Hello, I am using the Entity Framework 4.0 and I am trying to extend my POCO classes generated by the standart T4 template with some custom properties. The classes which are generated by default from EF (without T4) contain 2 properties for every navigation property - NavigationPropertyId and navigationPropertyReference. What I am trying to do is basically extend the generated POCO class with an "Id" property of the foreign key object. I know that I can do that by editing the POCO t4 template. However I have no idea how I can populate/persist the property - I guess I have to somehow extend/modify the method than converts the object to a sql query and vice versa, but I have no idea where to start. Can anyone help? Edit: I just found out, that the EF team has planned to implement something like this - http://blogs.msdn.com/efdesign/archive/2010/03/10/poco-template-code-generation-options.aspx (see Basic POCO with/without Fixup), however this can take ages, so I rather implement it myself.

  How do you enable actions like Goto line number Find(/Replace) There don't appear to be default triggers for these actions. There are a bunch of methods on the control, but I'm missing the first step of how to get the 'events' that would trigger these. For instance, how does one hook ctrl+f or F3/Alt+F3 in the control and make them do a find? Should I be looking at each key using EVT_STC_KEY? Would also like any examples of using this control with Custom language definition (say something similar to C++, but not C++) Auto completion (basic keywords to start, or including variables)

• Implementing Security on custom BCS/.net class?

  I'm implementing a custom BCS Model to get data from a backend system. As the backend uses it's own user management, I'm accessing it through a service account. All of this works well and allows me to pull data into SharePoint. However because it's channeled through the service account, everyone can access it, which is bad. Can anyone give me some tips which method to implement? The backend does not give me NT ACLs, but I wonder if I could just "fake" them somehow? (Essentially saying "This NT Group has Read Access" is good enough). I am aware of ISecurityTrimmer2 for Search Results, but ideally I want to cover security inside the BCS Model so that it applies to external lists as well. I want to avoid using Secure storage and mapping each individual user to the backend.

• Django South Foreign Keys referring to pks with Custom Fields

  I'm working with a legacy database which uses the MySQL big int so I setup a simple custom model field to handle this: class BigAutoField(models.AutoField): def get_internal_type(self): return "BigAutoField" def db_type(self): return 'bigint AUTO_INCREMENT' # Note this won't work with Oracle. This works fine with django south for the id/pk fields (mysql desc "| id | bigint(20) | NO | PRI | NULL | auto_increment |") but the ForeignKey fields in other models the referring fields are created as int(11) rather than bigint(20). I assume I have to add an introspection rule to the BigAutoField but there doesn't seem to be a mention of this sort of rule in the documentation (http://south.aeracode.org/docs/customfields.html). Update: Currently using Django 1.1.1 and South 0.6.2

  I’m working on a large and a high volume transactional enterprise application which has been designed using n-tire application architecture .And it was developed in the .NET platform utilizing C#,VB.NEt, Framework 3.5, ObjectDataSources, DataSet, WCF, asp.net update panel, JavaScript ,JSON, 3rd Party tools. The application is supposed to accomplish a really scalable / easily maintained / robust application / integrations, and to make sure that my services are created using a format that can be understood by other systems. The problem is, this application is about 70% complete but now I was wondering if the following would cause us future issues, I’m using a DataSet and a DataTable to (get /set) the data (form /to) the stored procedure in the database using the ObjectDataSources and was wondering if this would prevent my application from achieving the above goals. Actually, I am not anti-OO. I write lots of classes for different purposes, but I didn’t use the entity objects(custom business entities) instead of the previous way because I have a large database that may contain 50 tables and I was just afraid to create entities for each table and then in the future if I need to change the schema of the database, it might cause a huge affect on the application ?

  Hi, I am wondering how I could create a custom data type to use within the rake migration file. Example: if you would be creating a model, inside the migration file you can add columns. It could look like this: def self.up create_table :products do |t| t.column :name, :string t.timestamps end end I would like to know how to create something like this: t.column :name, :my_custom_data_type The reason for this to create for example a "currency" type, which is nothing more than a decimal with a precision of 8 and a scale of 2. This may have something to do with this being displayed in a UITextView. But how do I stop if from displaying all other items?

I read about sorting ArrayLists using a Comparator but somehow in all of the examples people used compareTo which according to some research is a method working on Strings... I wanted to sort an ArrayList of custom objects by one of their properties: a Date object (getStartDay()). Normally I compare them by item1.getStartDate().before(item2.getStartDate()) so I was wondering whether I could write something like: public class customComparator { public boolean compare(Object object1, Object object2) { return object1.getStartDate().before(object2.getStartDate()); } } public class randomName { ...   Hi, I am using joomla Artio SEF for my website. I am using a form for new customer. So it uses index.php?form=newcustomer&Itemid=1 url as "joomla15/new-customer" as sef url. Now I need to add error message like index.php?form=newcustomer&Itemid=1&msg=".$msg after submitting this form. In this case it is not displaying as sef and showing "index.php?form=newcustomer&Itemid=1&msg=New Customer Received". I cld not use custom redirect also,becoz msg are dynamically generated.   Hello. I have just started my first project on GeoDjango. As a matter of fact, with GeoDjango powered Admin application we all have a great possibility to view/edit spatial data, associated with the current object. The problem is that after the objects having been populated I need to render several objects' associated geometry at once on a single map. I might implement it as a model action, redirecting to a custom view. I just don't know, how to include the OpenLayers widget in the view and how to render there my compound geometry from my GeoQuerySet. I would be very thankful for any hint from an experienced GeoDjango programmer.

• Xcode custom project template creates only references to files

  Hi, I tried to create a custom project template for setting up unit testing. The problem is that when i create a new project based on this template it creates references to the template files : When i edit a file, it changes my template files instead of my actual project files ! When i delete my template, files from my actual project becomes red ! The project template is in : /Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/Developer/Library/Xcode/Project Templates/Application/Test-based Application Reading some question on stack overflow i tried to install my template project in /Library/Application Support/Developer/Shared/Xcode/Project Templates But i cannot see my template when i create a new project.
