  • Creating a New Reverse Java Array

    - by mandir08
    Given an array of ints length 3, return a new array with the elements in reverse order, so {1, 2, 3} becomes {3, 2, 1}. public int[] reverse3(int[] nums) { int[] values = new int[3]; for(int i=0; i<=nums.length-1; i++) { for(int j=nums.length-1; j>=0; j--) { values[i]=nums[j]; } } return values; } I cant get this to work properly, usually the last int in the array, becomes every single int in the new array

    This is a continuation from this post. I'm trying to parse this string in managed C++: String ^ rgba = "[0.09019608,0.5176471,0.9058824,1]"; cli::array<System::Double> ^ RGB = System::Array::ConvertAll<String,cli::array<System::Double> >((rgba->Substring(1,rgba->Length-2)->Split(',')),double::Parse); Compiler throws me the following error: Error 15 error C2770: invalid explicit generic argument(s) for 'cli::array<Type,dimension> ^System::Array::ConvertAll(cli::array<TInput,1> ^,System::Converter<TInput,TOutput> ^)' What am I doing wrong?

  • Check if key exists in $_SESSION by building index string

    - by Kim
    I need to check if a key exists and return its value if it does. Key can be an array with subkeys or endkey with a value. $_SESSION['mainKey']['testkey'] = 'value'; var_dump(doesKeyExist('testkey')); function doesKeyExist($where) { $parts = explode('/',$where); $str = ''; for($i = 0,$len = count($parts);$i<$len;$i++) { $str .= '[\''. $parts[$i] .'\']'; } $keycheck = '$_SESSION[\'mainKey\']' . $str; if (isset(${$keycheck})) { return ${$keycheck}; } // isset($keycheck) = true, as its non-empty. actual content is not checked // isset(${$keycheck}) = false, but should be true. ${$var} forces a evaluate content // isset($_SESSION['mainKey']['testkey']) = true } What am I doing wrong ? Using PHP 5.3.3.

  • How to update content of one ArrayController from the selected value of another ArrayController in Ember.js

    - by CodeHugger
    I have the following problem in ember.js. A child controller depends on a selected value in a parent controller in order to determine its content. In the database a child has a parent_id reference. App.parentsController = Em.ArrayController.create({ content: [], selected: null }); App.sonsController = Em.ArrayController.create({ // the value of content depends on the id of // the selected item in the parentsController content: [], selected: null }); App.daughtersController = Em.ArrayController.create({ // the value of content depends on the id of // the selected item in the parentsController content: [], selected: null }); I would prefer to solve this without the parentsController having to know anything about the other controllers. This should be possible with observers, bindings or even through calculations but I have no clue where to start. Any help would be well appreciated.

  • Ruby: how to know depth of multidemensional array

    - by hqt
    This is my problem I have met in my assignment. Array A has two elements: array B and array C. Array B has two elements: array D and array E At some point, array X just contains two elements: string a and string b. I don't know how to determine how deep array A is. For example: arrA = [ [ [1,2] ] ] I have tested by: A[0][0][0] == nil which returns false. Moreover, A[0][0]..[0] == nil always returns false. So, I cannot do this way to know how deep array A is.

  • Mallocing an unsigned char array to store ints

    - by Max Desmond
    I keep getting a segmentation fault when i test the following code. I am currently unable to find an answer after having searched the web. a = (byte *)malloc(sizeof(byte) * x ) ; for( i = 0 ; i < x-1 ; i++ ) { scanf("%d", &y ) ; a[i] = y ; } Both y and x are initialized. X is the size of the array determined by the user. The segmentation fault is on the second to last integer to be added, i found this by adding printf("roar") ; before setting a[i] to y and entering one number at a time. Byte is a typedef of an unsigned char. Note: I've also tried using a[i] = (byte)y ; A is ininitalized as follows byte *a ; If you need to view the entire code it is this: #include <stdio.h> #include <stdlib.h> #include "sort.h" int p_cmp_f () ; int main( int argc, char *argv[] ) { int x, y, i, choice ; byte *a ; while( choice !=2 ) { printf( "Would you like to sort integers?\n1. Yes\n2. No\n" ) ; scanf("%d", &choice ) ; switch(choice) { case 1: printf( "Enter the length of the array: " ) ; scanf( "%d", &x ) ; a = (byte *)malloc(sizeof( byte ) * x ) ; printf( "Enter %d integers to add to the array: ", x ) ; for( i = 0 ; i < x -1 ; i++ ) { scanf( "%d", &y ) ; a[i] = y ; } switch( choice ) { case 1: bubble_sort( a, x, sizeof(int), p_cmp_f ) ; for( i = 0 ; i < x ; i++ ) printf( "%d", a[i] ; break ; case 2: selection_sort( a, x, sizeof(int), p_cmp_f ) ; for( i = 0 ; i < x; i++ ) printf( "%d", a[i] ; break ; case 3: insertion_sort( a, x, sizeof(int), p_cmp_f ) ; for( i = 0 ; i < x ; i++ ) printf( "%d", a[i] ; break ; case 4: merge_sort( a, x, sizeof(int), p_cmp_f ) ; for( i = 0 ; i < x ; i++ ) printf( "%d", a[i] ; break ; case 5: quick_sort( a, x, sizeof(int), p_cmp_f ) ; for( i = 0 ; i < x ; i++ ) printf( "%d", a[i] ; break ; default: printf("Enter either 1,2,3,4, or 5" ) ; break ; } case 2: printf( "Thank you for using this program\n" ) ; return 0 ; break ; default: printf( "Enter either 1 or 2: " ) ; break ; } } free(a) ; return 0 ; } int p_cmp_f( byte *element1, byte *element2 ) { return *((int *)element1) - *((int *)element2) ; }

    I have an array and need to be sorted (based on id): Array ( [0] => Array ( [qty] => 1 [id] => 3 [name] => Name1 [sku] => Model 1 [options] => [price] => 100.00 ) [1] => Array ( [qty] => 2 [id] => 1 [name] => Name2 [sku] => Model 1 [options] => Color: <em>Black (+10$)</em>. Memory: <em>32GB (+99$)</em>. [price] => 209.00 ) ) Is it possible to sort my array to get output (id based)?   • Get Array value by string of keys

    - by Esben Petersen
    Hello, i'm building a template engine for my next project, which is going great. It replaces {tag} with a corresponding value. But, i want {tag[0][key]} to be replaced as well. All i need to know is how to get the value, if i have the string representation of the array and key, like this: $arr = array( 0=>array( 'key'=>'value' ), 1=>array( 'key'=>'value2' ) ); $tag = 'arr[0][key]'; echo($$tag); This is a very simple version of the problem, i hope you understand it. Or else i would be happy to anwser any questions about it :) Thanks for any help in advantage

  • XCode Obj-C: Make new NSArray from one key each out of an Array of Dictionaries

    - by user323772
    This actually could be a multipart question. But here's the first part ... I have an array (actually in a plist) of dictionaries. Each dictionary has 3 keys in it: (title), (points), and (description). I am trying to make a NEW array with the values of the key "title" from each dictionary in that first array. Let me explain WHY I am doing this and maybe that will provide a better all around explanation. I am trying to let people pick from a pre-determined list. Heck, if this was a web page it would be very simple since all I really care about are the "points" and the "Title". On a web site I could simply do a drop down combo-box with the "points" being the value and the title being the text for each row. But this is not a web page. So what I am trying to do here is pop out a modal picker when they click the text field. The modal picker shows the alphabetical ordered "titles" from our new array. And whichever one they select, it closes the modal view and assigns that "title" text to the UITextField which cannot be edited by the user. I have some code to get my modal picker to pop out. But I need to feed it an array of just the "titles" of each dictionary in my real array. Thanks in advance (and yes I am a newbie)

  • Complex data ordering...

    - by Povylas
    Hi, I have one tables ids in an array and they are ordered in the way I want and I have to select data from another table using those ids and in a order they are listen in the array. Pretty confusing but I was thinking of two solutions giving ORDER BY parameter the array but I do not know if that possible and another is to get all the necessary data and then turn it to array (mysql_fetch_assoc) then compare those two and somehow order the new array using the ids array. But I also do not know how to do this... Any ideas?

  • Decayed multidimensional array return from function

    - by paul simmons
    related to http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2520535/gcc-multi-dim-array-or-double-pointer-for-warning-free-compile , is there a way to return so-called "decayed array pointer" from a function? in summary (suppose 2 dim array) returning int (*a)[5] format rather than int** format? as far as I see, when returned int** pointer is sent to another function waiting (int*)[] parameter, it is not working correctly.

  • Javascript function programming — receiving elaborate parameters

    - by Barney
    I'm writing a Javascript function that would manipulate an array written on-the-fly and sent as a parameter. The function is written as follows: function returnJourney(animation,clean){ var properties = {}; // loads of other inane stuff for(i in animation[0]) properties[animation[0][i]] = animation[0].i; // heaps more inane stuff } The animation in question is a set of parameters for a jQuery animation. Typically it takes the format of ({key:value,key:value},speedAsInteger,modifierAsString). So to kick off initial debugging I call it with: returnJouney(({'foo':'bar'},3000),1); And straight off the bat things are way off. As far as I see it this would have returnJourney acknowledge clean === 1, and animation being an array with an object as its first child and the number 3000 as its second. Firebug tells me animation evaluates as the number 3000. What am I doing wrong?

  • mysql_fetch_array() not displaying all results

    - by user1666995
    I have a database with a calendar table (each row represents one day) with 4 years of rows (2012, 2013, 2014, 2015). I use the column name calyear for the year. I use the following code to find values for distinct years then display it: $year = mysql_query("SELECT DISTINCT calyear FROM calendar"); while($yeararray = mysql_fetch_array($year)) { echo($yeararray['calyear']."<br />"); } The problem is it only displays the years 2013, 2014, 2015 even though when I use echo(mysql_num_rows($year); it displays the value 4 which I take to mean all 4 years are there. I'm not quite sure where I'm going wrong with this.

  • Another php array looping question

    - by Dan
    Been battling with this one for what seems, like forever. I have an array: $url_array It contains this info: Array ( [ppp] => Array ( [0] => stdClass Object ( [id] => 46660 [entity_id] => 0 [redirect_url] => http://www.google.com [type] => Image ) [1] => stdClass Object ( [id] => 52662 [entity_id] => 0 [pixel_redirect_url] => http://www.yahoo.com [type] => Image ) [2] => stdClass Object ( [id] => 53877 [entity_id] => 0 [redirect_url] => http://www.msn.com [pixel_type] => Image ) ) [total_count] => 3 ) I need to loop through it, and do things to each variable. I can get this to work: foreach ($piggies_array as $key => $value) { $id = $value[0]->id; $redirect_url = $value[0]->redirect_url; } Not unsurprisingly, it's only echoing the first value of those variables, but no matter what I try I cannot get it to loop through: $value->redirect_url; $value=>redirect_url; I would appreciate any help.

  • Declare java enum with a String array

    - by chama
    I'm trying to declare an enum type based on data that I'm retrieving from a database. I have a method that returns a string array of all the rows in the table that I want to make into an enumerated type. Is there any way to construct an enum with an array? This is what I tried, but from the way it looked in eclipse, it seemed like this just created a method by that name: public enum ConditionCodes{ Condition.getDescriptions(); } Thank you in advance!

  • An array of MySQL results...

  • Dynamically created jagged "rectangle" array

    - by gagar1n
    In my project I have a lot of code like this: int[][] a = new int[firstDimension][]; for (int i=0; i<firstDimension; i++) { a[i] = new int[secondDimension]; } Types of elements are different. Is there any way of writing a method like createArray(typeof(int), firstDimension, secondDimension); and getting new int[firstDimension][secondDimension]? Once again, type of elements is known only at runtime.

  • Post JSON array to mvc controller

    I'm trying to post a JSON array to a mvc controller. But no matter what i try, everything is 0 or null. I have this table that contains textboxes. I need from all those textboxes it's ID and value as an object. This is my java code: $(document).ready(function () { $('#submitTest').click(function (e) { var $form = $('form'); var trans = new Array(); var parameters = { TransIDs: $("#TransID").val(), ItemIDs: $("#ItemID").val(), TypeIDs: $("#TypeID").val(), }; trans.push(parameters); if ($form.valid()) { $.ajax( { url: $form.attr('action'), type: $form.attr('method'), data: JSON.stringify(parameters), dataType: "json", contentType: "application/json; charset=utf-8", success: function (result) { $('#result').text(result.redirectTo) if (result.Success == true) { return fase; } else { $('#Error').html(result.Html); } }, error: function (request) { alert(request.statusText) } }); } e.preventDefault(); return false; }); }); This is my view code: <table> <tr> <th>trans</th> <th>Item</th> <th>Type</th> </tr> @foreach (var t in Model.Types.ToList()) { { <tr> <td> <input type="hidden" value="@t.TransID" id="TransID" /> <input type="hidden" value="@t.ItemID" id="ItemID" /> <input type="hidden" value="@t.TypeID" id="TypeID" /> </td> </tr> } } </table> This is the controller im trying to receive the data to: [HttpPost] public ActionResult Update(CustomTypeModel ctm) { return RedirectToAction("Index"); } What am i doing wrong?

  • add space to every word's end in a string in C

    - by hlx98007
    Here I have a string: *line = "123 567 890 "; with 2 spaces at the end. I wish to add those 2 spaces to 3's end and 7's end to make it like this: "123 567 890" I was trying to achieve the following steps: parse the string into words by words list (array of strings). From upstream function I will get values of variables word_count, *line and remain. concatenate them with a space at the end. add space distributively, with left to right priority, so when a fair division cannot be done, the second to last word's end will have (no. of spaces) spaces, the previous ones will get (spaces + 1) spaces. concatenate everything together to make it a new *line. Here is a part of my faulty code: int add_space(char *line, int remain, int word_count) { if (remain == 0.0) return 0; // Don't need to operate. int ret; char arr[word_count][line_width]; memset(arr, 0, word_count * line_width * sizeof(char)); char *blank = calloc(line_width, sizeof(char)); if (blank == NULL) { fprintf(stderr, "calloc for arr error!\n"); return -1; } for (int i = 0; i < word_count; i++) { ret = sscanf(line, "%s", arr[i]); // gdb shows somehow it won't read in. if (ret != 1) { fprintf(stderr, "Error occured!\n"); return -1; } arr[i] = strcat(arr[i], " "); // won't compile. } size_t spaces = remain / (word_count * 1.0); memset(blank, ' ', spaces + 1); for (int i = 0; i < word_count - 1; i++) { arr[0] = strcat(arr[i], blank); // won't compile. } memset(blank, ' ', spaces); arr[word_count-1] = strcat(arr[word_count-1], blank); for (int i = 1; i < word_count; i++) { arr[0] = strcat(arr[0], arr[i]); } free(blank); return 0; } It is not working, could you help me find the parts that do not work and fix them please? Thank you guys.

  • Shortest Distance From An Array

    - by notyou61
    I have an ajax function which returns the latitudes and longitudes of locations stored in a database. These are returned and placed in an array. A calculation is performed to return their distance from the users current location based on the latitude/longitude. I would like to return only the record with the shortest calculated distance. My code is as follows: Ajax Success // Success success: function (data) { // Obtain Log/Lat navigator.geolocation.getCurrentPosition(function(position) { // Obtain Current Position Lat/Lon glbVar.latitude = position.coords.latitude; glbVar.longitude = position.coords.longitude; // Console Log //console.log('Lat: ' + glbVar.latitude + ' Lon: ' + glbVar.longitude); // Obtain Location Distances for ( var i = 0; i < data.length; i++ ) { // Location Instances var varLocation = data[i]; // Location Distance varLocation.distance = calculateDistance(glbVar.longitude, glbVar.latitude, varLocation.locationLongitude, varLocation.locationLatitude); } // Sort Locations By Distance var sortedData = data.sort(function(a, b) { // Return Locations return a.distance - b.distance; }); // Output Results $.map(sortedData, function(item) { // Obtain Location Distance varLocationsDistance = calculateDistance(glbVar.longitude, glbVar.latitude, item.locationLongitude, item.locationLatitude); // Obtain Location Radius Assignment if (varLocationsDistance <= varLocationRadius) { // Function Return functionReturn = $({locationID : item.locationID + ', Distance : ' + varLocationsDistance + ' m'}); // Return // Function to get the Min value in Array Array.min = function( sortedData ){ functionReturn = Math.min.apply( Math, sortedData ); // console.log(functionReturn); }; } }); }); } The calculateDistance function returns the distance from the users current location and those from the database. The varLocationsDistance <= varLocationRadius "If" statement returns records within a certain distance radius (100 meters), within that statement I would like to return the shortest distance. I am a self taught amateur web developer and as a result may not have provide enough information for an answer, please let me know. Thanks,

  • How can I initialize a 2d array in Perl?

    - by Mark
    How do I initialize a 2d array in perl? I am trying the following code: 0 use strict; 10 my @frame_events = (((1) x 10), ((1) x 10)); 20 print "$frame_events[1][1]\n"; but it gives the following error: Can't use string ("1") as an ARRAY ref while "strict refs" in use at ./dyn_pf.pl line 20. This syntax only seems to initialize a 1d array as print "$frame_events[1]\n" works. Though perl doesn't give any error during the assignment.

  • How can I pass a hash to a Perl subroutine?

    - by Vishalrix
    In one of my main( or primary) routines,I have two or more hashes. I want the subroutine foo() to recieve these possibly-multiple hashes as distinct hashes. Right now I have no preference if they go by value, or as references. I am struggling with this for the last many hours and would appreciate help, so that I dont have to leave perl for php! ( I am using mod_perl, or will be) Right now I have got some answer to my requirement, shown here From http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-803720-start-0.html # sub: dump the hash values with the keys '1' and '3' sub dumpvals { foreach $h (@_) { print "1: $h->{1} 3: $h->{3}\n"; } } # initialize an array of anonymous hash references @arr = ({1,2,3,4}, {1,7,3,8}); # create a new hash and add the reference to the array $t{1} = 5; $t{3} = 6; push @arr, \%t; # call the sub dumpvals(@arr); I only want to extend it so that in dumpvals I could do something like this: foreach my %k ( keys @_[0]) { # use $k and @_[0], and others } The syntax is wrong, but I suppose you can tell that I am trying to get the keys of the first hash ( hash1 or h1), and iterate over them. How to do it in the latter code snippet above?
