  • loading xml without invalid character errors

    at the moment im loading xml and i am getting error: System.Xml.XmlException: ' ', hexadecimal value 0x17, is an invalid character. Line 2762, position 16. it is easy to fix. just open xml and remove the character. but I need to know is it possible to load xml even with invalid characters and use it for parsing. and is there any downside?

    I am using jQuery's thickbox.js pluging, for a modal dialog box that will appear when some one first loads the website(as a welcome banner), and after clicking on "enter site" they should be logged in to my home page. But the problem is "Modal dialog box appear's to be empty in some system(i.e OS), with same configuration, and shows only the loading progress bar". it works in some system only.. please help to find the problem??

    I am running this coda-slider script from http://www.ndoherty.biz/ Not Everytime, but quite often on the first load the coda slider box will be empty and the slider wont work, most of the time my image will be there and the slider will run since I have it set on auto. I am not quite sure why this happens. I seem to have had this happen to me with other jquery stuff just loading empty or super tiny images, anyone else seen this issue.

    I have posted on the template creator's site, as well as Magento support, but no one has responded. The CSS is not loading at all on the custom theme I have installed, which is supposedly compatible with the current version of Magento.     I'm trying to setup an Asterisk system that will allow me to create a conference call between two dynamic numbers. It seems I can use 'call files' to make Asterisk initiate the call without needing an incoming call - http://www.voip-info.org/tiki-index.php?page=Asterisk+auto-dial+out This example seems to be what I'd need: Channel: SIP/mytrunk/12345678 MaxRetries: 2 RetryTime: 60 WaitTime: 30 Context: callme Extension: 800 Priority: 2 I can generate this file with some scripting language and then place it into the Asterisk Call File folder. The problem I'm having is: How do I call out to two numbers and join them in a conference call? The MeetMe plugin/extension seems to be what I need in terms of conference calling, I'm just unsure as to how I'd use the two together and join them. Also, is it possible to have multiple 2-person conference calls at the same time? Is setting this up as simple as setting aside X amount of 'channels' in the meetme.conf?

  • SSH - using keys works, but not in a script

    I'm kind of confused, I have set up public keys between two servers and it works great, sort of. It only works if I ssh manually from a terminal. When I put the ssh command into a python script, it asks me for a password to login. The script is using rsync to sync up a directory from one server to the other. manual ssh command that works, no password prompt, automatic login: ssh -p 1234 [email protected] In the Python script: rsync --ignore-existing --delete --stats --progress -rp -e "ssh -p 1234" [email protected]:/directory/ /other/directory/ What gives? (obviously, ssh details are fake)

    Windows "ipconfig" command can only show me the parameters from the ethernet interfaces from my machine(even with the "ipconfig /all" argument), it can show detailed information about the interface, but will never show me my external IP address over a NAT network. However, there are several websites, such as "What is my IP" that can get and show my external IP addres. So I'm wondering, if is possible to get this value externally, should I expect that there is some way to get this information from a command line at my local machine... I need to get this value to log on an application that I'm doing with VB Script. There is some way to do this, from a "cmd" on Windows?

  • AWS EC2 can't execute user-data script

    I'm pretty new to AWS and EC2 but I want to run instances with a user script after it's booted from another instance. I have installed ec2 tools and ran the command as it's explained in various examples like here http://www.turnkeylinux.org/blog/ec2-userdata and Eric Hammond's tutorials. however when I actually use the command: "ec2-run-instances --key my-key --user-data-file myscript my-ami" it only runs the new instance but doesn't execute the script myscript contains: #!/bin/bash echo "hello" ~/output.txt I'm running ubuntu server 12.04 AMIs. the target AMIs are duplicates of the initiating instance. if I run curl http:// 169.254.169.254/latest/user-data the imported script is there.

Automatic allocation: the server's administrator creates a configuration for the server that includes only IP addresses, which it gives out to clients. An IP address, once associated with a MAC address, is permanently associated with it until the server's administrator intervenes. Dynamic allocation: like automatic allocation except that the server will track leases and give IP addresses whose lease has expired to other DHCP clients How can i configure the automatic allocation on Windows 2000 or XP DHCP server? i can think of setting the lease to unlimited period, but i m not sure if the computer shutsdown gracefully it will make the ip address available to other machine.

    I am trying to set up a CentOS 5.4 box to use a static IPv4 address, while getting a dynamic IPv6 address at boot time. I have only one interface, apart from the loopback interface, eth0. It has a static v4 and internet connectivity (I can SSH in). However, it doesn't get an IPv6 by default. I have enabled IPv6 in /etc/sysconfig/network and I have added IPV6INIT=yes to the config in /etc/sysconfig/networking/devices/. If I use dhcp6c it does get a valid IPv6 address, but the main question is how do I configure it to get one at boot-time?
