  • remove an open wifi of a service provider near my house

    I'm using Win 7. There is an access point of a service provider wifi near my house. The wifi is not free and not WEB/WPA protected. Everyone can connect to it and it will show the company's login page. (if the username/password are put correctly, their customer can use the net.) I'm not the customer of the company and have my own access point in my house. But my computer always connect to the network of that company. I tried to remove the network but it keep coming back and connect to that access point instead of mine. What can I do to make my computer choose my access point first?

    Hi, I was just wondering if anyone knows of any free Open Source software wich demonstrates multitrack recording support? I was thinking of something in the lines of this: http://www.soft411.com/company/NCH-Software/MixPad-Audio-Mixer%5Fscreenshot.html I want to include multitrack support in my own software, for personal use and I don't even know where to start to be able to do that. So preferrably a control or something would have been great. I could also be able to pay for something like this, as long as I'd be able to include it in my own VB.NET solution.   • Open another application from your own (intent)

    I know how to update my own programs, and I know how to open programs using the a predefined Uri (for sms or email for example) I need to know how I can create an Intent to open MyTracks or any other application that I don't know what intents they listen to. I got this info from DDMS, but I havn't been succesful in turning this to an Intent I can use. This is taken from when opening MyTracks manually.     I am working on a webbased application which has JSP and servlets. In my application, I am binding some objects to sessions like the following code -- HttpSession session = p_req.getSession(); session.setAttribute(DOWNLOAD_With_WARNINGS, downloadMap); Later I am retrieving them using session.getAttribute. I would like to know if every time I open a new browser does it open a new HTTP session. Because , if I do a setAttribute with some value in one browser instance, that change is visible when I do a getAttribute using the other browser instance.

But how to start. Like starting from the first elementary kernel (whatever it is). Somebody suggested I try to implement Linux from scratch etc. Please guide me in a proper way. I want to know about the proper path to follow. I am ready to invest three to four years just to understand the basics. I have good fundamentals of C, C++, PHP, OOP and compiler design.

    Hi, I want to make 3d games for the iphone and with all this doubt about Unity and Apples new sdk agreement I'm wondering what the best way forward is? A lot of people recommend opengl es and point me in the direction of the open gl es bible and likewise, the problem is none of this actually talk about setting a game up i.e loading a character, scene , AI etc. Yet a lot of people are using Open GL es please could someone help me out, I really feel like I'm missing out on something.   • Getting back into C/C++ after several years

    While at university I started my first programming with ANSI C, before we moved onto Java later in the course. Now I would like to go back to (re)learning C and C++ again to allow me to contribute with open source projects and also to expand my CV and improve my career prospects. Currently I mostly program in VB.net (I know I know, I try to not do things the nasty way you can with this) and am slowly picking up C# as I get some time at work. I also use a bit of java for Android dev. While I realise just doing it is the best way to learn, my exercise ideas are usually either trivial or beyond my current skills. What are some good sources for this initial relearn, I intend to possibly start helping with Chromium as other people seem to think this a good place to get started in OS. Basically any help getting back into this would be appreciated.

    I'm not a heavy coder here, so i'll ask my best. We made a brochure about our home town. However users spreading it trough facebook cant open the links when in their facebook app. The app does not send it to safari either. If opened directly from safari it is no problem. The link is http://visit.lodingen360.com Is there anything i can do to the site/index.html/whatever that will make it open in safari when the link is clicked in the facebook app for ios? (that won't affect visiting the site from pc's and so on) Is there anything uiwebview won't read that can force it to safari, so that we can redirect from the thing opened in safari to the site?

    I'm using the O_DIRECT flag to write to the disk directly from the user buffer. But as far as I understand, Linux doesn't guarantee that after this call, the data is written. It just writes directly from the user buffer to the physical device using DMA or anything else... Therefore, I don't understand if I can write to the user buffer after the call to 'write' function. I'm sure that example code will help to understand my question: char *user_buff = malloc(...); /* assume it is aligned as needed */ fd = open(..., O_DIRECT); write(fd, ...) memset(user_buff, 0, ...) Is the last line (memset) legal? Is writing to the user buffer valid that is maybe used by DMA to transfer data to the device?

  • Best practices to keep up a diverging branch of code

    I'm in a situation where some minor patches I've submitted to an open-source project were ignored or explicitly not accepted. I consider them useful, but more important is that I need the functionality they implement. I don't want to push my ideas and suggestions anymore to the main contributors, because I don't want to turn this into an ego issue. I've decided that my best bet would be just to use what I wrote for my own purposes. I don't want to fork the whole source code tree because I like how things are generally working, I'm just not happy with details. But I do realize that the project will evolve and I would like to use the new features that will eventually appear. I understand that I'll have to merge all new things into my own source tree. Are there any best practices for this scenario?

  • open program once with multiple files as arguments from explorer

    I have a program that works when, a file is opened with it using the right click menu in explorer. But if I select multiple files and then right click and open with my program then it opens multiple instances of my program, instead of just passing the multiple files as arguments to a single instance. The program is written in vb.net but is not a windows form, it is just a module, so I can to tick the Single instance option in the properties in Visual Studio. So how do I open multiple files from explorer context menu in a single instance.

We have a new requirement which is our data entry operators should be able to login to some kind of an admin module and simply change the text in the web pages, change the color etc. I have seen PHP based CMS’s that allows authorized user to change the content in WYSIWYG manner. If anyone of you knows such open source Java CMS or third party application, which can facilitate such thing, please let me know. Please note: we cannot write our application from scratch. We are looking for pluggable component.
