    What's a proper way of building a Winform app that has multiple 'screens'? For example, I'm trying to write a small backup program (mainly for giggles), and I've been dumping controls and containers onto the form. I'm using panels and group boxes to separate out the different screens (eg: I'm using a panel to hold all of the controls for the "Settings" window, and another panel to show all the current backups that have been set up). Well, my form.cs file ballooned into a massive amount of code, and I feel like I'm doing something wrong. I can hardly find anything in the file, and I'm ready to start over. This project was just for me to expand my knowledge of C# and .NET, so starting a new project is not a huge deal.

  • Brightness fn key adjustment problems

    My brightness function key controls work after setting grub boot parameter to "acpi_osi=" but using them I cannot adjust the brightness higher than around 70% (there is empty bar left over and I can't adjust higher) unless I go to Brightness & Lock settings manually than I can use the slider to adjust it higher... I primarily use intel_backlight to adjust my backlight and I am running Linux kernel 3.14.1 on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS on an ASUS X550LA Laptop when I try: cd /sys/class/backlight/intel_backlight cat max_brightness 937 cat brightness 811 It seems that I can only adjust to a maximum of 811 using the fn brightness controls If I instead do cd /sys/class/backlight/acpi_video0 cat max_brightness 10 cat brightness 4 cat actual_brightness 10 With the FN keys actual_brightness is not equal to the value returned from brightness on acip_video0 (which is always 4) but on intel_backlight actual_brightness = brightness The adjustment problem seemingly arises because both intel_backlight and acpi_video0 are trying to adjust brightness

    I recently faced a deletion of my calendar and notes data inside a third party application ( Horde ) on my online space. When I told the web hosting provider they replied that they were doing an upgrade to system software (!!) and client third party applications are not within their reach or backup policy. They don't even have a backup of my data. Is this practice acceptable from a web hosting provider, even for an individual clients ? I know that backing up my data is my responsibility but I anticipated that backup copies done by the host would be available when needed.

    I'm a total newbie to Ubuntu and recently decided to give it a go on my early 2009 Alu MacBook. For about a week now I've been trying to get the brightness controls to work. I've tried the following: Brightness controls doesn't work on a MacBook Pro 5.5 (ubuntu 12.04 LTS) https://help.ubuntu.com/community/MacBookPro5-5/Precise#LCD None of it seems to work. Next option was to try the Nvidia-bl-dkms drivers, but aftert installing the Mactel PPA I just get this: Reading package lists... DoneBuilding dependency tree Reading state information... Done E: Unable to locate package nvidia-bl-dkms Any help would be much appreciated as my eyes are going to fall out soon with the brightness maxed out.

This logic is now built into SPRequestModule. The mobile view is pretty damned amazing. Even though the set of pages for mobile access is completely different, SharePoint has an entirely separate set of controls for the mobile pages. These are in the Microsoft.SharePoint.MobileControls namespace which inherit from Microsoft ASP.NET controls in the System.Web.UI.MobileControls namespace.   • Can exim be configured to send all emails externally?

    How do I configure exim4 to route all emails via a third-party SMTP server when the sender's domain, recipient's domain, and server hostname all match? I followed this great answer and have exim4 sending emails to addresses at other domains tested and working from an Ubuntu server. My only issue is that emails where both the sender and recipient share the same domain as the server hostname, they never leave the server (and this is the expected behavior). For example, sending from [email protected] -- [email protected] works fine, but sending from [email protected] -- [email protected] just routes the mail locally to /var/mail/account2, without passing through the third-party SMTP server. I'm using Google Apps at my own domain and want to send emails from [email protected] to [email protected] from a machine with the hostname example.com. I want to route them through Google's SMTP server so I see them in my other email clients. Is this possible? Very similar questions (but for postfix) here and here.

  • Framework for interaction between web-page and server-side script

    I want to make a web-page that will have several controls elements, among which there are elements like check-boxes, radio-buttons, "range selectors" (one can specify the min and max value, like it is done when you select range for prices in the online markets). The new values shall be sent to the "server-side", once changed (without any Submit buttons etc), and the "server-side" can return something (one or more numbers, etc). Does anyone know a good ajax-like framework that allows (with minimal adaptation / changes) to make such solution in an easy way? It will be good if the server-side of existing solution will be in Perl (not a big deal, but I know it much better than PHP or something else). Set of controls might change and depend on other parameter, so adding one extra element should not cause rewriting the whole thing. P.S.: I haven't working in this area for quite a while, so not aware of existing solutions in this area, and don't want to invent the wheel and write everything from scratch for something that already exist (at least, I hope so). Hello we have a scenario like changes we have made in application should be reflected, previously we use to send whole package build , inspite of that is there any other way to simply create a patch file that should reflect changes in application. i've googled abt this however many of the forums saying that to use some third party tools.. Is it ok to go for third party tools.. coz our application is stable now.. in field now shouldnt take any risk...
