  • Transition from GPO to GPP

    I have a Windows network with a 2003 server as the PDC, and a 2008R2 server as a DC. We have used GPO sparsely when the majority of our workstations were WinXP, but now we have Windows 7 clients and we're having some issues with printer mapping. I'm not quite sure how I would go about taking up GPP, would it involve shifting the PDC over to the 2008R2 server? Any advice on what to do, and how to accomplish it would be very much appreciated.

  • Multiple Skype Accounts in Windows 8

    We use Skype at work and I use Skype at home, however I have two accounts so clients can't call me at home and I'm not distracted when I'm at work. I've just upgraded my laptop from Windows 7 to Windows 8, in 7 I'd sign into one then sign out. With Windows 8 you have to tie it to your Windows Account. How can I maintain this distinction and still use my laptop for Skype calls when I work at home?

  • 100% utilization on amazon server

    Good day, I would just like to know if you guys have any idea what could be the possible cause for a sudden disconnection of clients and 100% cpu utilization in our amazon server. This problem just started 2 days ago and in both occasion it happened at 7 plus in the morning gmt+8. What we usually do is just reset the socket for it to normalize and then on the next day same thing happened at 7 in the morning every client is disconnected from the server.

I know I probably won't be dealing with a lot of custom error pages here, but I'm curious about this.

    Hey all, I use MySQLdb a lot when dealing with my webserver. I often find myself repeating the lines: row = cursor.fetchone() while row: do_processing(row) row = cursor.fetchone() Somehow this strikes me as somewhat un-pythonic. Is there a better, one-line way to accomplish the same thing, along the lines of inline assignment in C: while (row = do_fetch()) { do_processing(row); } I've tried figuring out the syntax using list comprehensions, but I can't seem to figure it out.     I am dealing with a single username and password in an App, I'm storing the password in the keychain for security but where best to store the username? In NSUserDefaults, CFPreferences or is there a way to retrieve it out of the keychain along with the password. Later on there might be two entries in the keychain so I think this might be out of the question. Or does it not matter at all?

I will refer to these two articles to explain things and ask my questions: MSDN article on asynchronous client sockets and devarticles.com article on socket programming. My question is about the BeginReceive() method. The MSDN article uses these two functions to handle receiving data: private static void Receive(Socket client) { try { // Create the state object. Now my questions are: What is the point of passing a state to the BeginReceive method if we're only working with a single socket? Is it to avoid using a class field? It seems like there's little point in doing it, but maybe I'm missing something. How can the state parameter help when dealing with multiple sockets? If I'm calling client.BeginReceive(...), won't all the data be read from the client socket? The devarticles.com tutorial makes it sound like in this call: m_asynResult = m_socClient.BeginReceive (theSocPkt.dataBuffer,0,theSocPkt.dataBuffer.Length, SocketFlags.None,pfnCallBack,theSocPkt); Data will be read from the theSocPkt.thisSocket socket, instead of from the m_socClient socket. In their example the two are one and the same, but what happens if that is not the case? I just don't really see where that last argument is useful or at least how it helps with multiple sockets. If I have multiple sockets, I still need to call BeginReceive on each of them, right?

For instance, one has business rules in an order taking system that depend on the time of the order - if the clock changes, the rules might not be as clear. How should the time of the order be persisted? There is of course an endless number of scenarios - this one is simply an illustrative one. How have you dealt with the daylight saving issue? What assumptions are part of your solution? (looking for context here) As important, if not more so: What did you try that did not work? Why did it not work? I would be interested in programming, OS, data persistence and other pertinent aspects of the issue.     Hi, so..I followed doctrine documnetation to get started. Here is the documentation http://www.doctrine-project.org/documentation/manual/1_2/en/working-with-models#dealing-with-relations:retrieving-related-records My code is $User = Doctrine_Core::getTable("User")->find(1); when I access relations by $User-Phonenumbers, it works. When I convert User object to array by using toArray() method, it does not convert relations to array. It simply display $User data. Am i missing something?

    Try running this in a .VBS file MsgBox(545.14-544.94) You get a neat little answer of 0.199999999999932! This rounding issue also occurs unfortunately in Sin(2 * pi) since VB can only ever see the (user defined) variable pi as accurate as 3.14159265358979. Is rounding it manually (and loosing accuracy) the only way to improve the result? What is the most effective way of dealing with this kind of problem?

    hi , i'm trying to parse some html that is not on my server $dom = new DOMDocument(); $dom->loadHTMLfile("http://www.some-site.org/page.aspx"); echo $dom->getElementById('his_id')->item(0); but php returns an error something like ID his_id already defined in http://www.some-site.org/page.aspx, line: 33. I think that is because DOMDocument is dealing with invalid html. So, how can i parse it even though is invalid?
