  • Vim: How to Install Airline?

    I'm just getting started with Vim. It's a fun experience, but I've found it to be kind of overwhelming. I'm trying to get this plugin installed, vim-airline, but I'm having a lot of trouble. The Installation section on the Github page simply states: copy all of the files into your ~/.vim directory Presumably, this means download the .zip, extract it, and copy all of those files into ~/.vim/. I did this, but Vim just starts up like normal, and running :help airline just gives: Sorry, no help for airline I assume that this means it isn't getting installed. Also, the statusbar remains the same. I'm new to Vim and would really like to get this working. Thanks in advance! EDIT: I also tried putting the files into /usr/share/vim/vim73/. No dice. EDIT 2: I ran :helptags ~/.vim/doc and now the help-page displays when I type :help airline, but I'm still not getting the plugin itself (the status bar). Vim looks the same, but it can now display the help page.

  • Vim - How Recognize Spaces as Tabs (set listchars=tab)

    I wonder if it is possible to use a configuration for that command "set listchars=tab:¦¦,trail:·" to "see" 4 spaces as tabs and get the effect of the picture below (using real tabs)... I use the setting "set expandtab" to Vim use spaces in place of tabs. I really need to use spaces instead of tabs, but I would keep the functionality above. There is some form of do this? Here's how Vim behaves when I use "set expandtab"... ... I wish he recognized one tab for every 4 spaces like above! My setup for tabs... set tabstop=2 set shiftwidth=2 set softtabstop=2 set expandtab Thank you!

    Is there a way to make Notepad++ auto-complete words on Tab instead of Enter? Currently, if want to type, say, frame, then Enter to begin a new line, instead the Enter will select the first auto-complete suggestion, like frameElement:      I do want the auto-complete feature, but I'd rather have a key like Tab do the actual selection, because Enter is frequently purposed toward starting a new line, whereas Tab is rarely used to indent after a word (since indenting is usually done at the start of lines), and so perhaps would be better repurposed toward auto-completion.

    Since version 4.0b7pre, there is no more statusbar in Firefox, which has been replaced by the new add-ons bar. The main problem is that a lot of users like me are missing some valuable information that was displayed in the statusbar on previous versions. For instance, when hovering a link the url is now displayed in the address bar and you can't see the entire address. Other information like which servers are being contacted when you load a page are no longer displayed.

  • How can I move windows in Windows with keyboard?

    I recently started using Linux and was floored by the ease with which windows can be moved and resized with simple keyboard combinations using Compiz. If I want to move a terminal to top-right of the screen a simple CTRL+ALT+Numpad9 does the trick for me, and it resizes the window at the same time. I'm sure you guys know what I'm talking about. I would like to know if there is a way to do this in windows. Thanks.

  • check_postgres_checkpoint plugin error

    I am using the check_postgres.pl plugin for Nagios. I am trying to monitor how long since the last checkpoint has been run using the check_postgres_checkpoint option. When I run the command from CLI as root I am getting the output but I am not able to get the output in the Nagios web interface. The error which it shows is, ERROR: pg_controldata could not read the given data directory: "/opt/PostgreSQL/9.1/data" It is trying to access the pg_control file in the 'global' directory present beneath the data directory which has only read access to the postgres user. Can anyone please suggest me how this can be resolved ? Thanks.

  • Control iTunes from Spotlight (or similar)

    Is there some sort add on or program that lets me easily change (and choose) songs using keyboard shortcuts (or perhaps Spotlight)? The ideal program would add iTunes indexing to Spotlight and allow me to change songs by searching for them in Spotlight (but then not switch the focus to iTunes). I do believe that there was a plugin for Launchy on Windows to do a similar thing. Is such a program available?

  • Keyboard shortcut for creating a new folder or file? (Windows)

Given that I suspect that there isn't, does anybody know of an explorer extension that offers something similar? I am working on a project, lets say on PC 1 and then once I am done with the project, I want to upload the whole thing to Github so that when I get home I can download the latest code and work on it again on PC 2. Is there a package available for this? Any thoughts or any better ways of managing your projects and still make them accessible.

  • Unable to display wap version during "Extended permission"

    Hi, Im trying to redirect to facebook to request permission to publish stream. However, it only works when i did not specify any display parameters, it shows me a web version of it. I wanted a wap version instead. What should I do? For example, I can use {if}, {foreach}, or {assign} tags without any problems. But whenever I try to use {html_select_date}, {html_image}, or {html_table}, I get the errors. In case this matters, the programmer who is designing the plugin copied the openXWorkflow plugin and made some changes. I noticed that the openXWorkflow plugin has a file (openx/plugins_repo/openXWorkflow/www/admin/plugins/openXWorkflow/library/OX/UI/Smarty/SmartyCompilerWithViewHelper.php) with a class that overrides the default Smarty compiler, supposedly with the ability to compile shorthands for calling ZF view helpers. That file has a list of Smarty functions, but the list is incomplete. If I add the functions to the list, or simply delete the file, my template works fine, but I don't like to change library files. It may make the app hard to maintain, and I don't know if it will mess up something else. The file has the comment "There is no easy access to the list of Smarty's built-in functions so we need to list them here. HTML-specific functions are not included as we cover HTML generation separately.", so it seems like certain Smarty functions may be disabled on purpose for some reason. Will anything bad happen if I try to use them? If, for example, I want to use the {html_select_date} tag in my template, how would I go about doing that? Keep in mind that much of this stuff is new and unfamiliar to me. This is my first time ever using OpenX or Smarty, and I only have a little bit of experience with the Zend framework. Please let me know if we are using the wrong approach.

  • FQL query using stream table doesn't accept app access token

    I've searched stackoverflow all day long to find an answer without luck, so here we go. I'm trying to fetch data from the stream table like this: FQL: SELECT post_id, message, created_time FROM stream WHERE source_id = 131559313586863 URL: http:// graph.facebook.com/fql?q=SELECT+post_id%2C+message%2C+created_time+FROM+stream+WHERE+source_id+%3D+131559313586863&access_token=10669xxxxx74470|PF-7GSdBx0Nxxxxxkdi1KwSQG-w But I get a 400 Bad Request as response with the error message: "An access token is required to request this resource.". I'm fetching an application access token with this url: https:// graph.facebook.com/oauth/access_token?client_id=FACEBOOK_APP_ID&client_secret=FACEBOOK_APP_SECRET&grant_type=client_credentials Facebook state in this blog post that "You will need to pass a valid app or user access token to access this functionality.". Functionality refers to /feed and /posts (the stream table). Futhermore this wiki tells the same story about using the stream table, "From June 3 2011 a token is required to query this table. You can use any application or user token to make the query.". Does anyone see my hopefully obvious flaw? Please note: The profile in the FQL query is public. I need this to run userless though a cronjob. No user interaction is possible. The request works if I replace the app access token with my own user token from https:// developers.facebook.com/tools/explorer Sorry for breaking the URL's.
