• Generics not so generic !!

  Hi I tried to implement a generic binary search algorithm in scala. Here it is : type Ord ={ def <(x:Any):Boolean def >(x:Any):Boolean } def binSearch[T <: Ord ](x:T,start:Int,end:Int,t:Array[T]):Boolean = { if (start > end) return false val pos = (start + end ) / 2 if(t(pos)==x) true else if (t(pos) < x) binSearch(x,pos+1,end,t) else binSearch(x,start,pos-1,t) } everything is OK until I tried to actually use it (xD) : binSearch(3,0,4,Array(1,2,5,6)) the compiler is pretending that Int not a member of Ord, well what shall I do to solve this ?   I've looked around and seems like various problems around suspend are wide spreaded for 14.04 release, nevertheless I haven't seen exactly my problem reported, nor my laptop model mentioned. So, the problem. When I press sleep button system seems to be going into suspend, i.e. screen goes black, it stops responding on the keyboard and wireless LEDs turn off, however the power LED doesn't go into suspend state and CPU fan also keeps spinning. But unlike the other problem described here https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1315435 when I close the lid and reopen it - system wakes up and goes back to normal locked screen state, so reboot is not needed. I've got to find a way to resolve the array of ints "{1,3,4,5,2}" into an array of T so that the rest of my code will work smoothly.

• MP3 player mpman TS300 not recognized

  I just received a mpman ts300 mp3 player for Christmas. But when I try to connect it to ubuntu (10.10) through usb it doesn't seem to be recognized. I searched for a linuxdriver but came up with nothing. I even tried installing mpman manager from the software center, but still the same problem... Has anybody got any ideas about how to fix this? • fftw in Visual Studio?

  I'm trying to link my project with fftw and so far, I've gotten it to compile, but not link. As the site said, I generated all the .lib files (even though I'm only using double precision), and copied them to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\VC\lib, the .h file to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\VC\include and the .dll to C:\windows\system32.   Hi, I'd like my ASP.NET MVC application to redirect failed requests to matching action methods of a certain controller. This works fine on my development machine running Windows 7, but not on my production machine running Windows 2008 R2. I set up my web.config as follows: <customErrors mode="On" defaultRedirect="/Error/ServerError/500"> <error statusCode="403" redirect="/Error/AccessDenied" /> <error statusCode="404" redirect="/Error/FileNotFound" /> </customErrors> This customErrors section works fine on both of my machines (production and development) for 500 Internal Server errors. It also works fine for 404 errors on my development machine. However, it does not properly redirect 404 errors on the production machine. Instead of /Error/FileNotFound, I get the standard 404 page that comes with IIS 7. What could be the problem here?
