  • PC cannot ping another PC on my home network

    Hello, I am running Windows 7 on my PC, and I am running a Windows 2008 Server VM in Windows Virtual PC. Both machines have network connectivity. However, I cannot ping the VM from the host neither by computer name nor IP. I can ping the host machine from the VM both by computer name and IP. Is there something I need to enable on the VM to allow it to be seen by other machines on my network? Thanks!

    Hello, Is it possible to buy an HTC EVO 4G (preferably), or the Droid Incredible (second choice) from a vendor whereby the phone is unlocked without a cellular plan? I just want to get a phone to test my Android app on over the built-in WiFi (for now). Please advise.   • Kill named running screen with -X only works after reattached

    Hello I am using ubuntu 8.04.4 and would like to start daemons like this: screen -dmS SESSIONNAME script.sh Then i want to kill these screens with -X like so screen -S SESSIONAME -X kill But, this does not work. Only if i attach and detach that session it gets kill'ed with above command. What am i doing wrong? I would like to not have to attach/deattach the session to kill it since i want to use fabric scripts that start/stop daemons remotly. - Thank you

  • pidgin: how to make it log logins/logouts of an ICQ buddy if the conversation tab is still open

    Hello, when pidgin was called gaim and you had opened a tab with am ICQ buddy, all his logins and logouts were logged during the time you had that tab open. It didnt' even matter if your buddy was online before you opened the tab with him. In pidgin 2.6.6, I this behavior can no longer be observed and I cannot find an option in the preferences or buddy context menu to enable it. How do I restore that behavior from gaim time? Thanks!

    Hello, I would like to know what kind of electrical signals does a cpu send to a dynamic RAM when it wants to write one bit (a 1 or 0). Is it simply that cpu sends just a single electric pulse, and if that electric pulse's voltage is higher than a certain level, it charges the capacitor to a voltage level that is "1" and if it is at a lower voltage band, it charges capacitor to level that it is "0"?

    Hello, I have a file hosting site and I want to know what should be the apache log format/code to log records for only filesizes above 5mb that were served as download/output bandwidth So log looks like this visitors_ip filepath(or filename) output bandwidth One more thing data should be recorded ONLY FOR COMPLETED DOWNLOADS which I believe is checked through %X I think output bandwidth is same as the filesize that was served as download if whole file is downloaded.
