  • How to insert large files in mysql database using php? [closed]

    - by anjan
Hi! I want to upload a large file of size 10M max to my mysql database. Using .htaccess i changed the PHP's own file upload limit to "10485760" = 10M, i am able to upload files upto 10M size without any problem. But i can not insert the file in database if it is more that 1M in size. i am using file_get_contents to read all file data and pass it to the insert query as a string to be inserted into a LONGBLOB field. But files with more than 1M size is not being added to database, though i can use print_r($_FILES) to examine that the file uploaded correctly. Any help will be appreciated and i will need it within next 6 hours. So, please help! best regards, Anjan * This is a duplicate of http://stackoverflow.com/questions/492549/how-can-i-insert-large-files-in-mysql-db-using-php *

  • Unable to stretch TableLayout to screen width

    - by Rendrik
    I've tried unsuccessfully for quite a few hours now to simply get a TableLayout to scale to the full screen. I've tried stretchColumns, shrinkColumns, (specifying the column index or using *) you name it. It's almost as if the parent element (TableLayout) is completely ignoring 'android:layout_width="fill_parent"'. I've read through similar questions here, though they haven't solved it for me. The XML below has 3 rows, and the table always shrink wraps to the size of the content. Apparently I'm too new to post pictures(?) Here is the XML rendered into the project i'm working on. http://www.dashiva.com/images/Capture.png What am I missing here, it's quite frustrating! <TableLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:stretchColumns="*"> <TableRow> <TextView android:id="@+id/AmountText" android:text="@string/general_amount" android:paddingRight="8dip" android:layout_gravity="center"></TextView> <TextView android:id="@+id/CardText" android:text="@string/general_card" android:paddingRight="8dip" android:layout_gravity="center"></TextView> <TextView android:text="@string/general_date" android:id="@+id/DateText" android:paddingRight="8dip" android:layout_gravity="center"></TextView> <TextView android:id="@+id/ErrorText" android:text="@string/general_error" android:paddingRight="8dip" android:layout_gravity="center"></TextView> </TableRow> <TableRow> <TextView android:text="Amount here..." android:id="@+id/AmountNum" android:paddingRight="8dip" android:layout_gravity="center"></TextView> <TextView android:id="@+id/CardNum" android:text="Num here..." android:paddingRight="8dip" android:layout_gravity="center"></TextView> <TextView android:text="date here..." android:id="@+id/DateDate" android:paddingRight="8dip" android:layout_gravity="center"></TextView> <TextView android:text="Code here..." android:id="@+id/ErrorCode" android:paddingRight="8dip" android:layout_gravity="center"></TextView> </TableRow> <TableRow> <ImageView android:id="@+id/cc_image" android:src="@drawable/mastercard" android:background="@drawable/row_bg2" android:layout_gravity="center" android:layout_weight="1"></ImageView> <TextView android:id="@+id/ResponseText" android:layout_span="4" android:text="Response text here..." android:textSize="18dip" android:layout_weight="1"></TextView> </TableRow> <ImageView android:layout_gravity="center_vertical" android:background="@drawable/gradient_bg" android:layout_height="3dip" android:layout_width="fill_parent"></ImageView> </TableLayout>

  • drag and drop working funny when using variable draggables and droppables

    - by Lina
    Hi, i have some containers that contain some divs like: <div id="container1"> <div id="task1" onMouseOver="DragDrop("+1+");">&nbsp;</div> <div id="task2" onMouseOver="DragDrop("+2+");">&nbsp;</div> <div id="task3" onMouseOver="DragDrop("+3+");">&nbsp;</div> <div id="task4" onMouseOver="DragDrop("+4+");">&nbsp;</div> </div> <div id="container2"> <div id="task5" onMouseOver="DragDrop("+5+");">&nbsp;</div> <div id="task6" onMouseOver="DragDrop("+6+");">&nbsp;</div> </div> <div id="container3"> <div id="task7" onMouseOver="DragDrop("+7+");">&nbsp;</div> <div id="task8" onMouseOver="DragDrop("+8+");">&nbsp;</div> <div id="task9" onMouseOver="DragDrop("+9+");">&nbsp;</div> <div id="task10" onMouseOver="DragDrop("+10+");">&nbsp;</div> </div> i'm trying to drag tasks and drop them in one of the container divs, then reposition the dropped task so that it doesn't affect the other divs nor fall outside one of them and to do that i'm using the event onMouseOver to call the following function: function DragDrop(id) { $("#task" + id).draggable({ revert: 'invalid' }); for (var i = 0; i < nameList.length; i++) { $("#" + nameList[i]).droppable({ drop: function (ev, ui) { var pos = $("#task" + id).position(); if (pos.left <= 0) { $("#task" + id).css("left", "5px"); } else { var day = parseInt(parseInt(pos.left) / 42); var leftPos = (day * 42) + 5; $("#task" + id).css("left", "" + leftPos + "px"); } } }); } } where: nameList = [container1, container2, container3]; the drag is working fine, but the drop is not really, it's just a mess! any help please?? when i hardcode the id and the container, then it works beautifully, but as soon as i use id in drop then it begins to work funny! any suggestions??? thanks a million in advance Lina

  • ListActivity problem when using with RelativeLayout

    - by tomgamer
    Newb alert, I'm sure I'm doing something dumb here. I've been progressively expanding my UI, and I want to add a ListView in the middle of my UI. When I add it and change the activity to extend a ListActivity instead of just an Activity, I'm getting a Force Close. Using 1.5. Does a ListView not work embedded in a RelativeLayout? Thanks public class Categories extends ListActivity{ final static String[] ITEMS = {"blah", "floop", "gnarlp", "stuff"}; @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.categories); ArrayAdapter<String> adapter = new ArrayAdapter<String>(this, R.layout.listrow, R.id.textview, ITEMS); setListAdapter(adapter); XML looks like this: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <RelativeLayout android:id="@+id/RelativeLayout01" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent" xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"> <ImageView android:id="@+id/ImageView01" android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:scaleType="center" android:background="@drawable/background"> </ImageView> <ImageView android:id="@+id/ImageView02" android:src="@drawable/cat_heading" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_centerHorizontal="true"> </ImageView> <ListView android:id="@+id/ListView01" android:layout_below="@id/ImageView02" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content"></ListView> <RelativeLayout android:id="@+id/RelativeLayout02" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_alignBottom="@+id/RelativeLayout01" android:layout_centerHorizontal="true"> <ImageButton android:id="@+id/ImageButtonRecipes" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_alignParentBottom="true" android:src="@drawable/recipes"></ImageButton> <ImageButton android:id="@+id/ImageButtonSearch" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_alignParentBottom="true" android:layout_toRightOf="@+id/ImageButtonRecipes" android:src="@drawable/search"></ImageButton> </RelativeLayout> </RelativeLayout> and the listrow.xml: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content"> <TextView android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:id="@+id/textview"/> </LinearLayout>

  • jQuery selectors - parental problems

    - by aressidi
Hi there, I have an emote selector that opens up when a user clicks an entry in a diary. The way I've worked it is that the emote selector panel lives hidden at the top of the page. When a user clicks on the 'emote control' associated with an entry, I use JavaScript to grab the HTML of the emote selector panel from the top of the page and insert it next to the entry. Using Firebug, here's what the finished product would look like in the page (snippet from element inspect). I'm trying to get the ID for the class 'emote-control-container' which contains the entry id: <td> <div id="1467002" class="emote-select emote-default">&nbsp;</div> <div class="emote-control-container" id="emote-controls-1467002"> <div id="emote-control-selector"> <div id="emote-control-selector-body"> <ul> <li id="emote-1"><img src="/images/default_emote.gif?1276134900" class="emote-image" alt="Default_emote"></li> <li id="emote-2"><img src="/images/default_emote.gif?1276134900" class="emote-image" alt="Default_emote"></li> <li id="emote-3"><img src="/images/default_emote.gif?1276134900" class="emote-image" alt="Default_emote"></li> <li id="emote-4"><img src="/images/default_emote.gif?1276134900" class="emote-image" alt="Default_emote"></li> </ul> </div> <div id="emote-control-selector-footer"> &nbsp; </div> </div> </div> </td> I need the entry ID along with the emote ID to make a post via AJAX when a user selects an emote from the selector panel by clicking on it. I'm able to get the emote ID just fine with this, which I'm using to alert-out the selected emote ID: jQuery('li').live('click', function(e) { e.preventDefault; var emoteId = this.id; alert(emoteId); }); I'm having trouble traversing up DOM to get the element ID from '.emote-control-container. I've tried everything, but I'd expect this to work, but it doesn't: jQuery('li').live('click', function(e) { e.preventDefault; var entryId = jQuery(this.id).parent(".emote-control-container").attr("id"); alert(entryId); }); What am I doing wrong.? I can't target the ID of the .emote-control-container.

  • Optimize MySQL query (ngrams, COUNT(), GROUP BY, ORDER BY)

    - by Gerardo
I have a database with thousands of companies and their locations. I have implemented n-grams to optimize search. I am making one query to retrieve all the companies that match with the search query and another one to get a list with their locations and the number of companies in each location. The query I am trying to optimize is the latter. Maybe the problem is this: Every company ('anunciante') has a field ('estado') to make logical deletes. So, if 'estado' equals 1, the company should be retrieved. When I run the EXPLAIN command, it shows that it goes through almost 40k rows, when the actual result (the reality matching companies) are 80. How can I optimize this? This is my query (XXX represent the n-grams for the search query): SELECT provincias.provincia AS provincia, provincias.id, COUNT(*) AS cantidad FROM anunciantes JOIN anunciante_invertido AS a_i0 ON anunciantes.id = a_i0.id_anunciante JOIN indice_invertido AS indice0 ON a_i0.id_invertido = indice0.id LEFT OUTER JOIN domicilios ON anunciantes.id = domicilios.id_anunciante LEFT OUTER JOIN localidades ON domicilios.id_localidad = localidades.id LEFT OUTER JOIN provincias ON provincias.id = localidades.id_provincia WHERE anunciantes.estado = 1 AND indice0.id IN (SELECT invertido_ngrama.id_palabra FROM invertido_ngrama JOIN ngrama ON ngrama.id = invertido_ngrama.id_ngrama WHERE ngrama.ngrama = 'XXX') AND indice0.id IN (SELECT invertido_ngrama.id_palabra FROM invertido_ngrama JOIN ngrama ON ngrama.id = invertido_ngrama.id_ngrama WHERE ngrama.ngrama = 'XXX') AND indice0.id IN (SELECT invertido_ngrama.id_palabra FROM invertido_ngrama JOIN ngrama ON ngrama.id = invertido_ngrama.id_ngrama WHERE ngrama.ngrama = 'XXX') AND indice0.id IN (SELECT invertido_ngrama.id_palabra FROM invertido_ngrama JOIN ngrama ON ngrama.id = invertido_ngrama.id_ngrama WHERE ngrama.ngrama = 'XXX') AND indice0.id IN (SELECT invertido_ngrama.id_palabra FROM invertido_ngrama JOIN ngrama ON ngrama.id = invertido_ngrama.id_ngrama WHERE ngrama.ngrama = 'XXX') GROUP BY provincias.id ORDER BY cantidad DESC And this is the query explained (hope it can be read in this format): id select_type table type possible_keys key key_len ref rows Extra 1 PRIMARY anunciantes ref PRIMARY,estado estado 1 const 36669 Using index; Using temporary; Using filesort 1 PRIMARY domicilios ref id_anunciante id_anunciante 4 db84771_viaempresas.anunciantes.id 1 1 PRIMARY localidades eq_ref PRIMARY PRIMARY 4 db84771_viaempresas.domicilios.id_localidad 1 1 PRIMARY provincias eq_ref PRIMARY PRIMARY 4 db84771_viaempresas.localidades.id_provincia 1 1 PRIMARY a_i0 ref PRIMARY,id_anunciante,id_invertido PRIMARY 4 db84771_viaempresas.anunciantes.id 1 Using where; Using index 1 PRIMARY indice0 eq_ref PRIMARY PRIMARY 4 db84771_viaempresas.a_i0.id_invertido 1 Using index 6 DEPENDENT SUBQUERY ngrama const PRIMARY,ngrama ngrama 5 const 1 Using index 6 DEPENDENT SUBQUERY invertido_ngrama eq_ref PRIMARY,id_palabra,id_ngrama PRIMARY 8 func, const 1 Using index 5 DEPENDENT SUBQUERY ngrama const PRIMARY,ngrama ngrama 5 const 1 Using index 5 DEPENDENT SUBQUERY invertido_ngrama eq_ref PRIMARY,id_palabra,id_ngrama PRIMARY 8 func, const 1 Using index 4 DEPENDENT SUBQUERY ngrama const PRIMARY,ngrama ngrama 5 const 1 Using index 4 DEPENDENT SUBQUERY invertido_ngrama eq_ref PRIMARY,id_palabra,id_ngrama PRIMARY 8 func, const 1 Using index 3 DEPENDENT SUBQUERY ngrama const PRIMARY,ngrama ngrama 5 const 1 Using index 3 DEPENDENT SUBQUERY invertido_ngrama eq_ref PRIMARY,id_palabra,id_ngrama PRIMARY 8 func, const 1 Using index 2 DEPENDENT SUBQUERY ngrama const PRIMARY,ngrama ngrama 5 const 1 Using index 2 DEPENDENT SUBQUERY invertido_ngrama eq_ref PRIMARY,id_palabra,id_ngrama PRIMARY 8 func, const 1 Using index

  • codeigniter not being able to get the full param from url?

    - by bnelsonjax
Im having a weird issue that i cant seem to fix. It's dealing with viewing a company and adding a location to that company. when viewing a company, my url would look like this: domain.com/company/view/415 So clearly 415 is the ID of company, the company shows up correctly on my company view page. Now comes the weird part. when clicking on an "Add Location" link, which would take me to : domain.com/location/add/415 so once again this should be saying Location / Add / 415 (company ID 415) on this page, if i do it will echo 4 (instead of 415...the company id) if the company id is 754, the php echo $data['id'] would echo 7 (instead of 754). So its stripping the last 2 numbers off the Company ID. Here is my controller: public function add($id) { if (isset($_POST["add"])) { $this->Equipment_model->add($id); redirect('company/view/'.$id); } $data['locations'] = $this->Equipment_model->get_locations($id); $data['data'] = $id; $this->load->view('templates/header'); $this->load->view('equipment/add', $data); $this->load->view('templates/footer'); } here is my .htaccess RewriteEngine On RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-l RewriteCond $1 !^(index\.php|css|font|img|js|themes) RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php/$1 [QSA,L] Because my php/codeigniter experience is limited, maybe my terminology is off, so i created a video and uploaded it to twitch, here is the link if you wanna see what im talking about: http://www.twitch.tv/bnelsonjax/b/420079504 if anyone could help i'd be so grateful, I've been stuck on this for about a week. UPDATE ok now we are getting somehwere, when i change controller to: public function add($id) { if (isset($_POST["add"])) { $this->Equipment_model->add($id); redirect('company/view/'.$id); } $data['locations'] = $this->Equipment_model->get_locations($id); $data['data'] = $id; $data['cid'] = $id; $this->load->view('templates/header'); $this->load->view('equipment/add', $data); $this->load->view('templates/footer'); $this->output->enable_profiler(TRUE); } if i add the following to the view page: <?php echo $data['id']; ?> it echos: 7 this one: <?php echo $cid; ?> it echos 766 (CORRECT ONE) this one: <?php echo $data['cid']; ?> it echos 7 my question then is why if the controller show: $data['data'] = $id; $data['cid'] = $id; does only the one thats $data['cid'] echo correctly?

  • Responsive Design for your ADF Faces Web Applications

    - by Shay Shmeltzer
Responsive web applications are a common pattern for designing web pages that adjust their UI based on the device that access them. With the increase in the number of ADF applications that are being accessed from mobile phones and tablet we are getting more and more questions around this topic. Steven Davelaar wrote a comprehensive article covering key concepts in this area that you can find here. The article focuses on what I would refer to as server adaptive application, where the server adapts the UI it generates based on the device that is accessing the server. However there is one more technique that is not covered in that article and can be used with Oracle ADF - it is CSS manipulation on the client that can achieve responsive design. I'll cover this technique in this blog entry. The main advantage of this technique is that the UI manipulation does not require the server to send over a new UI when a change is needed. This for example allows your page to change immediately when you change the orientation of your device. (By the way this example was developed for one of the seminars in the upcoming Oracle ADF OTN Virtual Developer Day). In the demo that you'll see below you'll see a single page that changes the way it is displayed based on the orientation of the device. Here is the page with the tablet in landscape and portrait: To achieve this I'm using a CSS media query in my page template that changes the display property of a couple of style classes that are used in my page. The media query has this format: @media screen and (max-width:700px) {            .narrow {                display: inline;            }            .wide {                display: none;            }            .adjustFont {                font-size: small;            }            .icon-home {                font-size: 24px;            }        } This changes the properties of the same styleClasses that are defined in my application's skin. Here is a quick demo video that shows you the full application and explains how it works. • Store profile image of all users into single directory or per subdirectory id?

    - by Luccas
I'm using amazon s3 as storage for users profile pic. I see that many websites generates large random filenames and put them into the same root directory like: http://xxx.us-east-1.amazonaws.com/aHR0cHM6Ly9mYmNkbi1wcm9maWxlLWEuYWthbWFpaGQubmV0L2hwcm9maWxlLWFrLWFzaDIvMjczMzkxXzEwMDAwMDMxMjAxMzg5OV81NTk3MjM4Mzdfbi5qcGc.jpg And my question is: What are the pros and cons of that approach? If I palce them into different directories, what problems I will have in future? http://xxx.us-east-1.amazonaws.com/users/id/username.jpg or http://xxx.us-east-1.amazonaws.com/users/id/random_number.jpg Thanks!

  • How to implement dynamic binary search for search and insert operations of n element (C or C++)

    - by iecut
The idea is to use multiple arrays, each of length 2^k, to store n elements, according to binary representation of n.Each array is sorted and different arrays are not ordered in any way. In the above mentioned data structure, SEARCH is carried out by a sequence of binary search on each array. INSERT is carried out by a sequence of merge of arrays of the same length until an empty array is reached. More Detail: Lets suppose we have a vertical array of length 2^k and to each node of that array there attached horizontal array of length 2^k. That is, to the first node of vertical array, a horizontal array of length 2^0=1 is connected,to the second node of vertical array, a horizontal array of length 2^1= 2 is connected and so on. So the insert is first carried out in the first horizontal array, for the second insert the first array becomes empty and second horizontal array is full with 2 elements, for the third insert 1st and 2nd array horiz. array are filled and so on. I implemented the normal binary search for search and insert as follows: int main() { int a[20]= {0}; int n, i, j, temp; int *beg, *end, *mid, target; printf(" enter the total integers you want to enter (make it less then 20):\n"); scanf("%d", &n); if (n = 20) return 0; printf(" enter the integer array elements:\n" ); for(i = 0; i < n; i++) { scanf("%d", &a[i]); } // sort the loaded array, binary search! for(i = 0; i < n-1; i++) { for(j = 0; j < n-i-1; j++) { if (a[j+1] < a[j]) { temp = a[j]; a[j] = a[j+1]; a[j+1] = temp; } } } printf(" the sorted numbers are:"); for(i = 0; i < n; i++) { printf("%d ", a[i]); } // point to beginning and end of the array beg = &a[0]; end = &a[n]; // use n = one element past the loaded array! // mid should point somewhere in the middle of these addresses mid = beg += n/2; printf("\n enter the number to be searched:"); scanf("%d",&target); // binary search, there is an AND in the middle of while()!!! while((beg <= end) && (*mid != target)) { // is the target in lower or upper half? if (target < *mid) { end = mid - 1; // new end n = n/2; mid = beg += n/2; // new middle } else { beg = mid + 1; // new beginning n = n/2; mid = beg += n/2; // new middle } } // find the target? if (*mid == target) { printf("\n %d found!", target); } else { printf("\n %d not found!", target); } getchar(); // trap enter getchar(); // wait return 0; } Could anyone please suggest how to modify this program or a new program to implement dynamic binary search that works as explained above!!

  • Import MySQL file in PHP

    - by Cudos
    I have a MySQL file which I want to import via PHP 5. In the name of user friendliness the user should not use tools like PHPmyadmin etc. Just hit a button and the file will get imported. I have already created code to upload the file to a location on the server. The file looks like this: INSERT INTO products VALUES ('', '0', '10', '', '1', 'be34112', '4536.jpg', '','','','0'); SET @master_id = LAST_INSERT_ID(); INSERT INTO products_description VALUES ('', '1', @master_id, '1', 'Kjole', '', 'beskrivelse', '2000', '25', 'kjole.xml', '', '', ''); INSERT INTO products_to_categories VALUES ('',@master_id,'5'); INSERT INTO products VALUES ('', @master_id, '10', '12', '1', 'be34112', '4536.jpg', '200','','','0'); SET @variant_id = LAST_INSERT_ID(); INSERT INTO products_description VALUES ('', '1', @variant_id, '1', 'Kjole', '', 'beskrivelse', '2000', '25', 'kjole.xml', '', '', ''); INSERT INTO options_to_products VALUES ('', @variant_id, '1', '1'); INSERT INTO options_to_products VALUES ('', @variant_id, '', '2'); INSERT INTO products VALUES ('', @master_id, '20', '17', '1', 'be34113', '4537.jpg', '200','','','0'); SET @variant_id = LAST_INSERT_ID(); INSERT INTO products_description VALUES ('', '1', @variant_id, '1', 'Kjole', '', 'beskrivelse æøå ÆØÅ & íjj´¨¨¨¨fdfd""', '3000', '25', 'kjole.xml', '', '', ''); INSERT INTO options_to_products VALUES ('', @variant_id, '1', ''); INSERT INTO options_to_products VALUES ('', @variant_id, '', '4');

  • WiX 3 Tutorial: Understanding main WXS and WXI file

    - by Mladen Prajdic
In the previous post we’ve taken a look at the WiX solution/project structure and project properties. We’re still playing with our super SuperForm application and today we’ll take a look at the general parts of the main wxs file, SuperForm.wxs, and the wxi include file. For wxs file we’ll just go over the general description of what each part does in the code comments. The more detailed descriptions will be in future posts about features themselves. WXI include file Include files are exactly what their name implies. To include a wxi file into the wxs file you have to put the wxi at the beginning of each .wxs file you wish to include it in. If you’ve ever worked with C++ you can think of the include files as .h files. For example if you include SuperFormVariables.wxi into the SuperForm.wxs, the variables in the wxi won’t be seen in FilesFragment.wxs or RegistryFragment.wxs. You’d have to include it manually into those two wxs files too. For preprocessor variable $(var.VariableName) to be seen by every file in the project you have to include them in the WiX project properties->Build->“Define preprocessor variables” textbox. This is why I’ve chosen not to go this route because in multi developer teams not everyone has the same directory structure and having a single variable would mean each developer would have to checkout the wixproj file to edit the variable. This is pretty much unacceptable by my standards. This is why we’ve added a System Environment variable named SuperFormFilesDir as is shown in the previous Wix Tutorial post. Because the FilesFragment.wxs is autogenerated on every project build we don’t want to change it manually each time by adding the include wxi at the beginning of the file. This way we couldn’t recreate it in each pre-build event. <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?><Include> <!-- Versioning. These have to be changed for upgrades. It's not enough to just include newer files. --> <?define MajorVersion="1" ?> <?define MinorVersion="0" ?> <?define BuildVersion="0" ?> <!-- Revision is NOT used by WiX in the upgrade procedure --> <?define Revision="0" ?> <!-- Full version number to display --> <?define VersionNumber="$(var.MajorVersion).$(var.MinorVersion).$(var.BuildVersion).$(var.Revision)" ?> <!-- Upgrade code HAS to be the same for all updates. Once you've chosen it don't change it. --> <?define UpgradeCode="YOUR-GUID-HERE" ?> <!-- Path to the resources directory. resources don't really need to be included in the project structure but I like to include them for for clarity --> <?define ResourcesDir="$(var.ProjectDir)\Resources" ?> <!-- The name of your application exe file. This will be used to kill the process when updating and creating the desktop shortcut --> <?define ExeProcessName="SuperForm.MainApp.exe" ?></Include> For now there’s no way to tell WiX in Visual Studio to have a wxi include file available to the whole project, so you have to include it in each file separately. Only variables set in “Define preprocessor variables” or System Environment variables are accessible to the whole project for now. The main WXS file: SuperForm.wxs We’ll only take a look at the general structure of the main SuperForm.wxs and not its the details. We’ll cover the details in future posts. The code comments should provide plenty info about what each part does in general. Basically there are 5 major parts. The update part, the conditions and actions part, the UI install sequence, the directory structure and the features we want to include. <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><!-- Add xmlns:util namespace definition to be able to use stuff from WixUtilExtension dll--><Wix xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/wix/2006/wi" xmlns:util="http://schemas.microsoft.com/wix/UtilExtension"> <!-- This is how we include wxi files --> <?include $(sys.CURRENTDIR)Includes\SuperFormVariables.wxi ?> <!-- Id="*" is to enable upgrading. * means that the product ID will be autogenerated on each build. • ScrollView in android

    - by rantravee
    hi, I' have a view that contains several textViews an ImageView and a Button . Because on small screen devices (or in landscape mode on big ones ) not all are visible I use a Scroll as the parent of the whole hierarchy to allow the user to view all the information. The things are suck that the button must be at the buttom of the view . However on big screen device , where it remains enough space at the buttom , the button is put immediatelly below the last textview,and seems to occupy all the remaining space (resulting in an unnactractive view) . Trying to use android:allignParentButtom ="true" not only that it has no effect but it puts the button at top of the screen . Has anyone any ideea how could I accomplish what I described ? here's the xml <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <ScrollView xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:id="@+id/scroll_view" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_centerHorizontal="true"> <RelativeLayout android:id="@+id/gps_info_page1" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:layout_centerHorizontal="true"> <TextView android:id="@+id/itsDateTimeValue" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_alignParentTop="true" android:layout_centerHorizontal="true" android:text="@string/eStrUnknown"> </TextView> <RelativeLayout android:id="@+id/directions" android:layout_centerHorizontal="true" android:layout_below="@+id/itsDateTimeValue" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content"> <TextView android:id="@+id/itsDirectionValue" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:text="0" android:layout_marginRight="2dip" android:textSize="20sp"> </TextView> <TextView android:id="@+id/itsOrientation" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:textSize="20sp" android:layout_marginLeft="2dip" android:text="@string/eStrUnknown" android:layout_toRightOf="@+id/itsDirectionValue"> </TextView> </RelativeLayout> <ImageView android:id="@+id/itsImage" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:src="@drawable/compass" android:layout_below="@+id/directions" android:layout_centerHorizontal="true"> </ImageView> <RelativeLayout> ..."TextViews below the above image" </RelativeLayout> <RelativeLayout> ..."TextViews below the above" </RelativeLayout> <RelativeLayout> ..."TextViews below the above" </RelativeLayout> <RelativeLayout> ..."TextViews below the above" </RelativeLayout> <RelativeLayout ..."TextViews below the above" </RelativeLayout> <LinearLayout android:id="@+id/div" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="1dip" android:layout_below="@+id/sunset_layout" android:background="#F333"> </LinearLayout> <Button //adding here android:alignParentBottom="true" has described above behavior android:layout_marginBottom="3dip" android:layout_marginTop="20dip" android:id="@+id/done_button" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:text="@string/eStrDone" android:textSize="18sp" android:layout_below="@+id/div" android:layout_centerHorizontal="true"> </Button> </RelativeLayout> </ScrollView>

  • How to populate the span tags for all text nodes between specific self closing tags.

    - by Rachel
    I want to populate span tags for all text nodes between the self closing tags s1 and s2 having the same id. Eg. For the input: <a> <b>Some <s1 id="1" />text here</b> <c>Some <s2 id="1"/>more text <s1 id="2"/> here<c/> <d>More data</d> <e>Some <s2 id="2" />more data</e> </a> In the above input i want to enclose every text node between <s1 id="1"/> and <s2 id="1" /> with span tags. Also all the text node between <s1 id="2" /> and <s2 id="2" /> Expected Output: <a> <b>Some <span class="spanClass" id="1a">text here</span></b> <c><span class="spanClass" id="1b">Some </span>more text <span class="spanClass" id="2a"> here</span></c> <d><span class="spanClass" id="2b">More data</span></d> <e><span class="spanClass" id="2c">Some </span>more data</e> </a> I am not concened about the pattern of the id tag populated for the span as along it is unique. If the transformation of the input to the output form requires the list of ids of the s1 , s2 tag pairs say 1, 2 etc i can assume that it in place in any form if required. Hope i am clear. How can this be achieved using XSL? EDIT: The input can have any structure and not exactly the same as seen in the sample input. It can have any number of s1, s2 tag pairs but each pair will have a unique id.Adding another sample input and output pattern for more information. Input: <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <title>This is my title</title> </head> <body> <h1 align="center">This <s1 id="1" />is my <s2 id="1" />heading</h1> <p> Sample content <s1 id="2" />Some text here. Some content here. </p> <p> Here you <s2 id="2" />go. </p> </body> </html> Desired output: <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <title>This is my title</title> </head> <body> <h1 align="center">This <span id="1">is my </span>heading</h1> <p> Sample content <span id="2">Some text here. Some content here.</span> </p> <p> <span id="2">Here you </span>go. </p> </body> </html>

  • XML Outputting - PHP vs JS vs Anything Else?

    - by itsphil
    Hi everyone, I am working on developing a Travel website which uses XML API's to get the data. However i am relatively new to XML and outputting it. I have been experimenting with using PHP to output a test XML file, but currently the furthest iv got is to only output a few records. As it the questions states i need to know which technology will be best for this project. Below iv included some points to take into consideration. The website is going to be a large sized, heavy traffic site (expedia/lastminute size) My skillset is PHP (intermediate/high skilled) & Javascript (intermediate/high skilled) Below is an example of the XML that the API is outputting: <?xml version="1.0"?> <response method="###" success="Y"> <errors> </errors> <request> <auth password="test" username="test" /> <method action="###" sitename="###" /> </request> <results> <line id="6" logourl="###" name="Line 1" smalllogourl="###"> <ships> <ship id="16" name="Ship 1" /> <ship id="453" name="Ship 2" /> <ship id="468" name="Ship 3" /> <ship id="356" name="Ship 4" /> </ships> </line> <line id="63" logourl="###" name="Line 2" smalllogourl="###"> <ships> <ship id="492" name="Ship 1" /> <ship id="454" name="Ship 2" /> <ship id="455" name="Ship 3" /> <ship id="421" name="Ship 4" /> <ship id="401" name="Ship 5" /> <ship id="404" name="Ship 6" /> <ship id="405" name="Ship 7" /> <ship id="406" name="Ship 8" /> <ship id="407" name="Ship 9" /> <ship id="408" name="Ship 10" /> </ships> </line> <line id="41" logourl="###"> <ships> <ship id="229" name="Ship 1" /> <ship id="230" name="Ship 2" /> <ship id="231" name="Ship 3" /> <ship id="445" name="Ship 4" /> <ship id="570" name="Ship 5" /> <ship id="571" name="Ship 6" /> </ships> </line> </results> </response> If possible when suggesting which technlogy is best for this project, if you could provide some getting started guides or any information would be very much appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

  • Bulk inserting best way to about it? + Helping me understand fully what I found so far

    - by chobo2
Hi So I saw this post here and read it and it seems like bulk copy might be the way to go. http://stackoverflow.com/questions/682015/whats-the-best-way-to-bulk-database-inserts-from-c I still have some questions and want to know how things actually work. So I found 2 tutorials. http://www.codeproject.com/KB/cs/MultipleInsertsIn1dbTrip.aspx#_Toc196622241 http://www.codeproject.com/KB/linq/BulkOperations_LinqToSQL.aspx First way uses 2 ado.net 2.0 features. BulkInsert and BulkCopy. the second one uses linq to sql and OpenXML. This sort of appeals to me as I am using linq to sql already and prefer it over ado.net. However as one person pointed out in the posts what he just going around the issue at the cost of performance( nothing wrong with that in my opinion) First I will talk about the 2 ways in the first tutorial I am using VS2010 Express, .net 4.0, MVC 2.0, SQl Server 2005 Is ado.net 2.0 the most current version? Based on the technology I am using, is there some updates to what I am going to show that would improve it somehow? Is there any thing that these tutorial left out that I should know about? BulkInsert I am using this table for all the examples. CREATE TABLE [dbo].[TBL_TEST_TEST] ( ID INT IDENTITY(1,1) PRIMARY KEY, [NAME] [varchar](50) ) SP Code USE [Test] GO /****** Object: StoredProcedure [dbo].[sp_BatchInsert] Script Date: 05/19/2010 15:12:47 ******/ SET ANSI_NULLS ON GO SET QUOTED_IDENTIFIER ON GO ALTER PROCEDURE [dbo].[sp_BatchInsert] (@Name VARCHAR(50) ) AS BEGIN INSERT INTO TBL_TEST_TEST VALUES (@Name); END C# Code /// <summary> /// Another ado.net 2.0 way that uses a stored procedure to do a bulk insert. /// Seems slower then "BatchBulkCopy" way and it crashes when you try to insert 500,000 records in one go. /// http://www.codeproject.com/KB/cs/MultipleInsertsIn1dbTrip.aspx#_Toc196622241 /// </summary> private static void BatchInsert() { // Get the DataTable with Rows State as RowState.Added DataTable dtInsertRows = GetDataTable(); SqlConnection connection = new SqlConnection(connectionString); SqlCommand command = new SqlCommand("sp_BatchInsert", connection); command.CommandType = CommandType.StoredProcedure; command.UpdatedRowSource = UpdateRowSource.None; // Set the Parameter with appropriate Source Column Name command.Parameters.Add("@Name", SqlDbType.VarChar, 50, dtInsertRows.Columns[0].ColumnName); SqlDataAdapter adpt = new SqlDataAdapter(); adpt.InsertCommand = command; // Specify the number of records to be Inserted/Updated in one go. Default is 1. adpt.UpdateBatchSize = 1000; connection.Open(); int recordsInserted = adpt.Update(dtInsertRows); connection.Close(); } So first thing is the batch size. Why would you set a batch size to anything but the number of records you are sending? Like I am sending 500,000 records so I did a Batch size of 500,000. Next why does it crash when I do this? If I set it to 1000 for batch size it works just fine. System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException was unhandled Message="A transport-level error has occurred when sending the request to the server. (provider: Shared Memory Provider, error: 0 - No process is on the other end of the pipe.)" Source=".Net SqlClient Data Provider" ErrorCode=-2146232060 Class=20 LineNumber=0 Number=233 Server="" State=0 StackTrace: at System.Data.Common.DbDataAdapter.UpdatedRowStatusErrors(RowUpdatedEventArgs rowUpdatedEvent, BatchCommandInfo[] batchCommands, Int32 commandCount) at System.Data.Common.DbDataAdapter.UpdatedRowStatus(RowUpdatedEventArgs rowUpdatedEvent, BatchCommandInfo[] batchCommands, Int32 commandCount) at System.Data.Common.DbDataAdapter.Update(DataRow[] dataRows, DataTableMapping tableMapping) at System.Data.Common.DbDataAdapter.UpdateFromDataTable(DataTable dataTable, DataTableMapping tableMapping) at System.Data.Common.DbDataAdapter.Update(DataTable dataTable) at TestIQueryable.Program.BatchInsert() in C:\Users\a\Downloads\TestIQueryable\TestIQueryable\TestIQueryable\Program.cs:line 124 at TestIQueryable.Program.Main(String[] args) in C:\Users\a\Downloads\TestIQueryable\TestIQueryable\TestIQueryable\Program.cs:line 16 InnerException: Time it took to insert 500,000 records with insert batch size of 1000 took "2 mins and 54 seconds" Of course this is no official time I sat there with a stop watch( I am sure there are better ways but was too lazy to look what they where) So I find that kinda slow compared to all my other ones(expect the linq to sql insert one) and I am not really sure why. Next I looked at bulkcopy /// <summary> /// An ado.net 2.0 way to mass insert records. This seems to be the fastest. /// http://www.codeproject.com/KB/cs/MultipleInsertsIn1dbTrip.aspx#_Toc196622241 /// </summary> private static void BatchBulkCopy() { // Get the DataTable DataTable dtInsertRows = GetDataTable(); using (SqlBulkCopy sbc = new SqlBulkCopy(connectionString, SqlBulkCopyOptions.KeepIdentity)) { sbc.DestinationTableName = "TBL_TEST_TEST"; // Number of records to be processed in one go sbc.BatchSize = 500000; // Map the Source Column from DataTabel to the Destination Columns in SQL Server 2005 Person Table // sbc.ColumnMappings.Add("ID", "ID"); sbc.ColumnMappings.Add("NAME", "NAME"); // Number of records after which client has to be notified about its status sbc.NotifyAfter = dtInsertRows.Rows.Count; // Event that gets fired when NotifyAfter number of records are processed. sbc.SqlRowsCopied += new SqlRowsCopiedEventHandler(sbc_SqlRowsCopied); // Finally write to server sbc.WriteToServer(dtInsertRows); sbc.Close(); } } This one seemed to go really fast and did not even need a SP( can you use SP with bulk copy? If you can would it be better?) BatchCopy had no problem with a 500,000 batch size.So again why make it smaller then the number of records you want to send? I found that with BatchCopy and 500,000 batch size it took only 5 seconds to complete. I then tried with a batch size of 1,000 and it only took 8 seconds. So much faster then the bulkinsert one above. Now I tried the other tutorial. USE [Test] GO /****** Object: StoredProcedure [dbo].[spTEST_InsertXMLTEST_TEST] Script Date: 05/19/2010 15:39:03 ******/ SET ANSI_NULLS ON GO SET QUOTED_IDENTIFIER ON GO ALTER PROCEDURE [dbo].[spTEST_InsertXMLTEST_TEST](@UpdatedProdData nText) AS DECLARE @hDoc int exec sp_xml_preparedocument @hDoc OUTPUT,@UpdatedProdData INSERT INTO TBL_TEST_TEST(NAME) SELECT XMLProdTable.NAME FROM OPENXML(@hDoc, 'ArrayOfTBL_TEST_TEST/TBL_TEST_TEST', 2) WITH ( ID Int, NAME varchar(100) ) XMLProdTable EXEC sp_xml_removedocument @hDoc C# code. /// <summary> /// This is using linq to sql to make the table objects. /// It is then serailzed to to an xml document and sent to a stored proedure /// that then does a bulk insert(I think with OpenXML) /// http://www.codeproject.com/KB/linq/BulkOperations_LinqToSQL.aspx /// </summary> private static void LinqInsertXMLBatch() { using (TestDataContext db = new TestDataContext()) { TBL_TEST_TEST[] testRecords = new TBL_TEST_TEST[500000]; for (int count = 0; count < 500000; count++) { TBL_TEST_TEST testRecord = new TBL_TEST_TEST(); testRecord.NAME = "Name : " + count; testRecords[count] = testRecord; } StringBuilder sBuilder = new StringBuilder(); System.IO.StringWriter sWriter = new System.IO.StringWriter(sBuilder); XmlSerializer serializer = new XmlSerializer(typeof(TBL_TEST_TEST[])); serializer.Serialize(sWriter, testRecords); db.insertTestData(sBuilder.ToString()); } } So I like this because I get to use objects even though it is kinda redundant. I don't get how the SP works. Like I don't get the whole thing. I don't know if OPENXML has some batch insert under the hood but I do not even know how to take this example SP and change it to fit my tables since like I said I don't know what is going on. I also don't know what would happen if the object you have more tables in it. Like say I have a ProductName table what has a relationship to a Product table or something like that. In linq to sql you could get the product name object and make changes to the Product table in that same object. So I am not sure how to take that into account. I am not sure if I would have to do separate inserts or what. The time was pretty good for 500,000 records it took 52 seconds The last way of course was just using linq to do it all and it was pretty bad. /// <summary> /// This is using linq to sql to to insert lots of records. /// This way is slow as it uses no mass insert. /// Only tried to insert 50,000 records as I did not want to sit around till it did 500,000 records. /// http://www.codeproject.com/KB/linq/BulkOperations_LinqToSQL.aspx /// </summary> private static void LinqInsertAll() { using (TestDataContext db = new TestDataContext()) { db.CommandTimeout = 600; for (int count = 0; count < 50000; count++) { TBL_TEST_TEST testRecord = new TBL_TEST_TEST(); testRecord.NAME = "Name : " + count; db.TBL_TEST_TESTs.InsertOnSubmit(testRecord); } db.SubmitChanges(); } } I did only 50,000 records and that took over a minute to do. So I really narrowed it done to the linq to sql bulk insert way or bulk copy. I am just not sure how to do it when you have relationship for either way. I am not sure how they both stand up when doing updates instead of inserts as I have not gotten around to try it yet. I don't think I will ever need to insert/update more than 50,000 records at one type but at the same time I know I will have to do validation on records before inserting so that will slow it down and that sort of makes linq to sql nicer as your got objects especially if your first parsing data from a xml file before you insert into the database.
