    Hello, Is there a way to read a file in PHP5 from line X to line Y into a string, without reading the entire file. I would like to return huge files (10,000+ lines) using ajax requests. Each request will provide the client with additional lines. And due to the fact that the file can reach large sizes, I would like to avoid reading it whole over and over again. Thank you.

    I have a script that generates two lines as output each time. I'm really just interested in the second line. Moreover I'm only interested in the text that appears between a pair of #'s on the second line. Additionally, between the hashes, another delimiter is used: ^A. It would be great if I can also break apart each part of text that is ^A-delimited (Note that ^A is SOH special character and can be typed by using Ctrl-A)

    I have a 4MB log file from the Windows XP firewall which I'm trying to find lines that have both DROP and an IP and a port number. My regex-fu is weak and I'm assuming this is the reason I'm struggling. The words "DROP", "10.1.1.1" (for example) and "8801" need to be found on the same line and may be spread across the line and separated by one or more other words. Any help (or suggestions of another method to do this) are much appreciated.

  • MSDeploy: error using runCommand provider to call remote .cmd file (timeout)

    We are running into an error when trying to use the MSDeploy "runCommand" provider to execute a .cmd file on a remote machine. The expected run time should be about 10 seconds, but MSDeploy only runs it for about 2-3 seconds, after which time error details are returned. Here is the complete MSDeploy "runCommand" command line text I am using: msdeploy.exe -verb:sync -source:runCommand="D:\web deploy tester\test_cmd.cmd",dontUseCommandExe=false,waitAttempts=5,waitInterval=1000 -dest:auto,computername=http://test-machine:89/MsDeployAgentService/,userName=aaa,password=bbb Here are the error details returned: Error 'Error: (4/21/2010 12:19:25 PM) An error occurred when the request was processed on the remote computer. Error: The process 'C:\WINDOWS\system32\cmd.exe' (command line '/c "D:\web deploy tester\test_cmd.cmd"') was terminated because it exceeded the wait time. Error count: 1. ' occurred in call to RunCommand Any ideas as to why this is happening and how to resolve it?

    ifstream::tellg() is returning -13 for a certain file. Basically, I wrote a utility that analyzes some source code; I open all files alphabetically, I start with "Apple.cpp" and it works perfectly.. But when it gets to "Conversion.cpp", always on the same file, after reading one line successfully tellg() returns -13. The code in question is: for (int i = 0; i < files.size(); ++i) { /* For each .cpp and .h file */ TextIFile f(files[i]); while (!f.AtEof()) // When it gets to conversion.cpp (not on the others) // first is always successful, second always fails lines.push_back(f.ReadLine()); The code for AtEof is: bool AtEof() { if (mFile.tellg() < 0) FATAL(format("DEBUG - tellg(): %d") % mFile.tellg()); if (mFile.tellg() >= GetSize()) return true; return false; } After it reads successfully the first line of Conversion.cpp, it always crashes with DEBUG - tellg(): -13.   • How to automate a build for a Visual FoxPro project?

    I'm interested in figuring out how to automate a build from Visual FoxPro similar to how we can build .NET projects from the command line using MSBuild. It seems that it is possible to pass command line arguments to VFP.exe which may include the ability to specify some initial startup prg that runs however it is unclear how well starting up the IDE will work from non-interactive accounts such as the Network Service on Windows which is likely where an automated build would run. Has anybody attempt this before or read about anybody attempting to script a VFP build like this? I would be grateful for any pointers that may lead me to a solution.
