• How to open a file and remove the last line?

  I am looking to open up a file, grab the last line in the file where the line = "?", which is the closing tag for a php document. Than I am wanting to append data into it and add back in the "?" to the very last line. I've been trying a few approaches, but I'm not having any luck. Here's what I got so far, as I am reading from a zip file. • Port Java Application to Android

  I am not so sure about the question or what I should call what I am trying to achieve. I use a dialer called super sify. Here is the download - http://thegoan.com/supersify/supersify.zip The when extracted it has two files for linux, one is a .jar file which consists of some classes. The application was written in java. The other is a .sh file, which is a shell executable and takes some parameters like username and password and machine id and stuff. I want to port this app to android. What exactly would I have to do. Some more information is the .jar file is named supersify.jar and the .sh file is named ss.sh so here is the code for ss.sh java -jar supersify.jar $* if [ $? -eq 1 ] then read fi Please help me out. This is an open source software.So I am not doing any illegal modifications. I need to port this app to android, so would I have to write the whole thing again or just something else. I know some basic hello world android app development, and I have made an app to add two numbers, I am still on my way to become an android app developer, but I need this app and will learn a lot to make this possible unless it involves rewriting all the java classes. • Launching and Intent from file and mime type

  I've reviewed all the similar questions here, but I can't for the life of me figure out what I'm doing wrong. I've written an application that tries to launch various files, sort of a file browser, when a file is clicked it tries to launch the program based on it's associated MIME type or I want it to present the "Choose Application to Launch" dialog. Here's the code I'm using to launch: File file = new File(app.mediaPath() + "/" +_mediaFiles.get(position)); Intent myIntent = new Intent(android.content.Intent.ACTION_VIEW); String extension = android.webkit.MimeTypeMap.getFileExtensionFromUrl(Uri.fromFile(file).toString()); String mimetype = android.webkit.MimeTypeMap.getSingleton().getMimeTypeFromExtension(extension); myIntent.setDataAndType(Uri.fromFile(file),mimetype); startActivity(myIntent); This fails and generates a: android.content.ActivityNotFoundException: No Activity found to handle Intent { act=android.intent.action.VIEW dat=file:///file:/mnt/sdcard/roms/nes/Baseball_simulator.nes } Now if I install OI File Manager for instance, it opens instead of this error being thrown, and then if I click the same file from within in it, it launches the approriate dialogs. I have noticed that the MIME type for that particular file fails, but other mime types like .zip do return values. Am I missing something that when the MIME type is null to call a dialog that lets the user select? I've tried other variations of launching the app, including not setting the mime type and only using .setData with no success. The action I want to happen is, a user clicks a file, if it's associated with an application that app launches, if not, the user gets the "Complete action using" dialog with a list of apps. Thanks for any advice.

• Updating Cells in a DataTable

  I'm writing a small app to do a little processing on some cells in a CSV file I have. I've figured out how to read and write CSV files with a library I found online, but I'm having trouble: the library parses CSV files into a DataTable, but, when I try to change a cell of the table, it isn't saving the change in the table! Below is the code in question. I've separated the process into multiple variables and renamed some of the things to make it easier to debug for this question. Code Inside the loop: string debug1 = readIn.Rows[i].ItemArray[numColumnToCopyTo].ToString(); string debug2 = readIn.Rows[i].ItemArray[numColumnToCopyTo].ToString().Trim(); string debug3 = readIn.Rows[i].ItemArray[numColumnToCopyFrom].ToString().Trim(); string towrite = debug2 + ", " + debug3; readIn.Rows[i].ItemArray[numColumnToCopyTo] = (object)towrite; After the loop: readIn.AcceptChanges(); When I debug my code, I see that towrite is being formed correctly and everything's OK, except that the row isn't updated: why isn't it working? I have a feeling that I'm making a simple mistake here: the last time I worked with DataTables (quite a long time ago), I had similar problems. If you're wondering why I'm adding another comma in towrite, it's because I'm combining a street address field with a zip code field - I hope that's not messing anything up. My code is kind of messy, as I'm only trying to edit one file to make a small fix, so sorry.

  I try to to find a solution to do View and Edit of a the item from a tablview. My application base on UITabBarController. Each of the Bar items contain a class with a a couple of UIViews. This is the first items of UITabBarController. I done Add event from Apple sample code: SimpleEKDemo. Add Event working without any problem. I tried to add View and Edit part to the code. I would able to select an items from tableView to edit the selected item. But after I tried to add code from SimpleEKDemo to my code, I realized I have to add UINavigationController to the implement. So I did. After I add that it's came to the items of UITabBarController. Also I even the Add Event didn't worked very well (I couldn't insert event name and location. but edit was working. So I need to know: 1- Is it possible to implement Edit/View without using UINavigationController. If yes please let me know a sample code. 2- If I must use UINavigationController. Because I don't need UINavigationController to become it the first page and I don't need any bar added to my application. • Paypal Sandbox 2014 Non US test account Sign Up proper link

  Ok I had a Paypal Sandbox account a year ago. I am developing a new site for a client and when I try to Login it won't recognize my email address. I tried forgot my password forgot password still nothing. So I guessed that maybe due to inactivity for such a long time they may have deleted my account. So then I try to Sign Up for a new one. I entered my details 3 times now and spent 6 hours trying to figure out what is the proper link to do this. Then I went to another Sandbox link which required me to entered a US Zip code and its a dead end. I am not even sure which Paypal account I signed up for those three times. No email nothing at all. I am a Non US developer and the FAQ link for Non US developers just points to their REST API. Can someone please guide me to the proper Paypal Sandbox Setup for Non US developers including the proper sign up links please. And I know Stackoverflow does not like rants but from my experience dealing with Paypal, GTA 6 should make a satirical Paypal company in their next Game with Paypal Developer Rampage mode for the main protagonist who also happens to be a Developer. EDIT: REST API does not include UK :(

• Magento - save quote_address on cart addAction using observer

  I am writing a custom Magento module that gives rate quotes (based on an external API) on the product page. After I get the response on the product page, it adds some of the info from the response into the product view's form. The goal is to save the address (as well as some other things, but those can be in the session for now). The address needs to be saved to the quote, so that the checkout (onestepcheckout, free version) will automatically fill those values in (city, state, zip, country, shipping method [of which there are 3]) and load the rate quote via ajax (which it's already doing). I have gone about this by using an Observer, and watching for the cart events. I fill in the address and save it. When I end up on the cart page or checkout page ~4/5 times the data is lost, and the sql table shows that the quote_address is getting save with no address info, even though there is an explicit save. The observer method's I've used are: checkout_cart_update_item_complete checkout_cart_product_add_after The code saving is: (I've tried this with the address, quote and cart all not calling save() with the same results, as well as not calling setQuote() $quote->getShippingAddress() ->setCountryId($params['estimate_to_country']) ->setCity($params['estimate_to_city']) ->setPostcode($params['estimate_to_zip_code']) ->setRegionId($params['estimate_to_state_code']) ->setRegion($params['estimate_to_state']) ->setCollectShippingRates(true) ->setShippingMethod($params['carrier_method']) ->setQuote($quote) ->save(); $quote->getBillingAddress() ->setCountryId($params['estimate_to_country']) ->setCity($params['estimate_to_city']) ->setPostcode($params['estimate_to_zip_code']) ->setRegionId($params['estimate_to_state_code']) ->setRegion($params['estimate_to_state']) ->setCollectShippingRates(true) ->setShippingMethod($params['carrier_method']) ->setQuote($quote) ->save(); $quote->save(); $cart->save(); I imagine there's a good chance this is not the best place to save this info, but I am not quite sure.   I am trying to build a search functionality which at a high level works like this. 1 - I have a Search model, controller with a search_set action and search views/partial to render the search. 2 - At the home page a serach form is loaded with an empty search object or a search object initialized with session[:search] (which contains user search preferences, zip code, proximity, sort order, per page etc). This form has a post(:put) action to search_set. 3 - When a registered user performs a set the params of the search form are collected and a search record is saved against that user. If a unregistered user performs a search then the search set action simply stores the params in the session[:search]. In either case, the search is executed with the given params and the results are displayed. At this point the url of in the location bar is something like.. http://localhost:3000/searches/search_set?stype=1 At this point if the user simply hits enter on the location bar, I get an error that says "No action responded to show" I am guessing because the URL contains search_set which uses a put method and even though I have a search_show (:get) action (which simply reruns the search in the session or saved in the database) does not get called. How can I handle this situation where I can route a user hitting enter into the location bar to a get method? If this does not explain the problem , please let me know I can share more details/code etc. Thanks!

• PHP is truncating MSSQL Blob data (4096b), even after setting INI values. Am I missing one?

  I am writing a PHP script that goes through a table and extracts the varbinary(max) blob data from each record into an external file. The code is working perfectly, except when a file is over 4096b - the data is truncated at exactly 4096. I've modified the values for mssql.textlimit, mssql.textsize, and odbc.defaultlrl without any success.   Hello, I would like to check if there is a preferred design pattern for implementing search functionality with multiple optional parameters against database table where the access to the database should be only via stored procedures. The targeted platform is .Net with SQL 2005, 2008 backend, but I think this is pretty generic problem. For example, we have customer table and we want to provide search functionality to the UI for different parameters, like customer Type, customer State, customer Zip, etc., and all of them are optional and can be selected in any combinations. In other words, the user can search by customerType only or by customerType, customerZIp or any other possible combinations. There are several available design approaches, but all of them have some disadvantages and I would like to ask if there is a preferred design among them or if there is another approach. Generate sql where clause sql statement dynamically in the business tier, based on the search request from the UI, and pass it to a stored procedure as parameter. Something like @Where = ‘where CustomerZip = 111111’ Inside the stored procedure generate dynamic sql statement and execute it with sp_executesql. Disadvantage: dynamic sql, sql injection Implement a stored procedure with multiple input parameters, representing the search fields from the UI, and use the following construction for selecting the records only for the requested fields in the where statement. WHERE (CustomerType = @CustomerType OR @CustomerType is null ) AND (CustomerZip = @CustomerZip OR @CustomerZip is null ) AND ………………………………………… Disadvantage: possible performance issue for the sql. 3.Implement separate stored procedure for each search parameter combinations. Disadvantage: The number of stored procedures will increase rapidly with the increase of the search parameters, repeated code.

• Android Java error handling XML file

  I'm using SAX and XML reader to read XML weather info from the web and it works fine if the page exists. But if for instance the user inputs an invalid city, zip etc the XML page that gets read from is empty and the app force closes with nullpointerexception. The area that generates the error is here right at open inputstream. • Migrating just article contect of Joomla 1.0 to 2.5.x / 3.x?

  I have a simple website using Joomla 1.0.15, just having articles in some categories. As i want to install or remove components from admin area, i got : "You are not authorised to view this resource" or something like that. This is uncommon, this site is about 5 years old, and never got error message like that. I think my website is hacked ?? I have set safe_mode = off in php.ini, turn of sh404sef, removing .htaccess file etc ... and it still does not work. Then i try to upgrade to Joomla 2.5.x / 3.x . I found that i must migrate to Joomla 1.5.x first, then from there to 2.5.x. I got problem installing "migration.zip" component in my Joomla 1.0.x (always alert/err message pop up is shown). Is there another way to migrate the website ? May be just get the article section, category, article id and the content of Joomla 1.0.x , then import it to Joomla 2.5.x / 3.x ? I don't need components, modules, mambots (if any) of the old site. How to do it ? Thanks

• Alpha plugin in GStreamer not working

  Hi! I'm trying to compose two videos, and I'm using the alpha plug-in to make the white color transparent. To test the alpha plug-in I'm creating the pipeline with gst-launch. The first test I done was: gst-launch videotestsrc pattern=smpte75 \ ! alpha method=custom target-r=255 target-g=255 target-b=255 angle=10 \ ! videomixer name=mixer ! ffmpegcolorspace ! autovideosink \ videotestsrc pattern=snow ! mixer. and it works great! • Trac problem: AttributeError: Cannot find an implementation of the "IRequestHandler" interface named "WikiModule"

  This problem already has been described mutliple times in different mailing lists, but no solution has yet been published. My original setup is as follows (but in the mean time i have a simpler one on Windows 7): Ubuntu server with apache 2.2 and python 2.7 virutal python environment created with virtualenv installed babel, genshi and trac in this order using pip in the virtual environment Trac seems to run fine with tracd, but when visiting it through apache, i get the following error in an official trac error page: AttributeError: Cannot find an implementation of the "IRequestHandler" interface named "WikiModule" The stacktrace looks like this: Traceback (most recent call last): File "/srv/trac/python-environment/lib/python2.5/site-packages/Trac-0.13dev_r10668-py2.5.egg/trac/web/main.py",line 473, in _dispatch_request dispatcher.dispatch(req) File "/srv/trac/python-environment/lib/python2.5/site-packages/Trac-0.13dev_r10668-py2.5.egg/trac/web/main.py", line 154, in dispatch chosen_handler = self.default_handler File "/srv/trac/python-environment/lib/python2.5/site-packages/Trac-0.13dev_r10668-py2.5.egg/trac/config.py", line 691, in __get__ self.section, self.name)) AttributeError: Cannot find an implementation of the "IRequestHandler" interface named "WikiModule". Please update the option trac.default_handler in trac.ini. I already tried a lot to get down to the root of the problem, for me it looks as if all nativ trac components refuse to load. When one explicitely imports these components in the wsgi handler, some of them start to work somehow. Since i suspected the virtual environment, i dropped it, and manually copied all dependencies (babel, genshi, trac, ..) to one directory, and added this directory to system.path in the wsgi handler. I get exactly the same error. Since this setup is now independend from the environment, one can easily try it out on any other machine (windows or linux) running apache 2 and python 2.7. On my Windwos 7 machine, i got exactly the same problem. I zipped together the whole bundle, one can download it from http://www.xterity.de/tmp/trac-installation.zip . • Can an administration extraction of an MSI file perform registry and/or system wide changes?

  I am always getting MSI (or setup EXEs which are basically MSI) files, and half the time they really do not need to be a setup. Microsoft is probably one of the biggest sources - almost every time I want to download a little source code sample, it has a MSI which if you install, only usually has three files. I would rather not do an install and add it to the add/remove programs and who knows what else (although I am sure it wouldn't be that bad) for the sake of three files! For this reason, I always use the following command: MSIEXEC /a <filename.msi> /qb TARGETDIR=<directory name> Now, this works fine and I have never had problems... However, I was just browsing some articles on Technet and found the following resource about administration installs. Apparently, MSI files can have two sequences: The AdminUISequence Table and the AdminExecuteSequence Table. I am not so worried about the AdminUISequence Table as it states that "The installer skips the actions in this table if the user interface level is set to basic UI or no UI", and this is what the /qb switch I use does. However, there is nothing similar written against AdminExecuteSequence Table. I realise that many people who write MSI files simply do it for a single end user and probably do not even touch the admin install options, however, is it possible for them to set items that can affect the system and if so, is there a fail proof way of extracting? I do already use 7-zip, however despite it being on the "supported" page, MSI support is lacking... well... completely sucks. It looses the file names and is generally useless. They have a bug which was closed with no reason/resolution over three years ago, and I opened a forum post and haven't had a reply. I would not really want to install any additional programs if I could help it and just want peoples opinions on this. Thanks. edit - Should also say, I run with UAC on, and I have never ever had a elevation prompt whilst performing the MSIEXEC operation, so I am guessing I have never had a system wide change, however, I am still curious as to if it is possible... As if changes (even just to the user) are possible I would do this locally/in a VM and never on a server or place of importance!
