  • C# ThreadPool QueueUserWorkItem Synchronization

    - by ikurtz
Greetings, I am employing ThreadPool.QueueUserWorkItem to play some sound files and not hanging up the GUI while doing so. It is working but has an undesirable side effect. While the QueueUserWorkItem CallBack Proc is being executed there is nothing to stop it from starting a new thread. This causes the samples in the threads to overlap. How can I make it so that it waits for the already running thread to finish running and only then run the next request? Thanks in advance :)

  • SunTlsRsaPremasterSecret KeyGenerator not available

    - by Jill
Hi, I encountered an error when my application tries to load a RSA Algorithm provider class from JAVA. The exception stack is as follow: javax.jms.JMSException: RSA premaster secret error at org.apache.activemq.util.JMSExceptionSupport.create(JMSExceptionSupport.java:49) at org.apache.activemq.ActiveMQConnection.syncSendPacket(ActiveMQConnection.java:1255) at org.apache.activemq.ActiveMQConnection.ensureConnectionInfoSent(ActiveMQConnection.java:1350) at org.apache.activemq.ActiveMQConnection.setClientID(ActiveMQConnection.java:388) at com.trendmicro.tmsm.TMSMAgent.open(TMSMAgent.java:63) Caused by: javax.net.ssl.SSLKeyException: RSA premaster secret error at com.sun.net.ssl.internal.ssl.RSAClientKeyExchange.<init>(RSAClientKeyExchange.java:97) at com.sun.net.ssl.internal.ssl.ClientHandshaker.serverHelloDone(ClientHandshaker.java:634) at com.sun.net.ssl.internal.ssl.ClientHandshaker.processMessage(ClientHandshaker.java:226) at com.sun.net.ssl.internal.ssl.Handshaker.processLoop(Handshaker.java:516) at com.sun.net.ssl.internal.ssl.Handshaker.process_record(Handshaker.java:454) at com.sun.net.ssl.internal.ssl.SSLSocketImpl.readRecord(SSLSocketImpl.java:884) at com.sun.net.ssl.internal.ssl.SSLSocketImpl.performInitialHandshake(SSLSocketImpl.java:1112) at com.sun.net.ssl.internal.ssl.SSLSocketImpl.writeRecord(SSLSocketImpl.java:623) at com.sun.net.ssl.internal.ssl.AppOutputStream.write(AppOutputStream.java:59) at org.apache.activemq.transport.tcp.TcpBufferedOutputStream.flush(TcpBufferedOutputStream.java:115) at java.io.DataOutputStream.flush(DataOutputStream.java:106) at org.apache.activemq.transport.tcp.TcpTransport.oneway(TcpTransport.java:167) at org.apache.activemq.transport.InactivityMonitor.oneway(InactivityMonitor.java:237) at org.apache.activemq.transport.WireFormatNegotiator.sendWireFormat(WireFormatNegotiator.java:168) at org.apache.activemq.transport.WireFormatNegotiator.sendWireFormat(WireFormatNegotiator.java:84) at org.apache.activemq.transport.WireFormatNegotiator.start(WireFormatNegotiator.java:74) at org.apache.activemq.transport.failover.FailoverTransport.doReconnect(FailoverTransport.java:715) at org.apache.activemq.transport.failover.FailoverTransport$2.iterate(FailoverTransport.java:115) at org.apache.activemq.thread.PooledTaskRunner.runTask(PooledTaskRunner.java:122) at org.apache.activemq.thread.PooledTaskRunner$1.run(PooledTaskRunner.java:43) at java.util.concurrent.ThreadPoolExecutor$Worker.runTask(ThreadPoolExecutor.java:886) at java.util.concurrent.ThreadPoolExecutor$Worker.run(ThreadPoolExecutor.java:908) at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:637) Caused by: java.security.NoSuchAlgorithmException: SunTlsRsaPremasterSecret KeyGenerator not available at javax.crypto.KeyGenerator.<init>(DashoA13*..) at javax.crypto.KeyGenerator.getInstance(DashoA13*..) at com.sun.net.ssl.internal.ssl.JsseJce.getKeyGenerator(JsseJce.java:223) at com.sun.net.ssl.internal.ssl.RSAClientKeyExchange.<init>(RSAClientKeyExchange.java:89) ... 22 more I've googled the error message and most of posts says it's because JVM cannot find sunjce_provider.jar. However, I can find the file in /Library/Java/Home/lib/ext folder. The platform is Mac OS X 10.6 and Java version is 1.6.0_17. My questions are: Why JVM does not search /Library/Java/Home/lib/ext for jar files? Can we change CLASSPATH or java.ext.dirs property by modify any config file? Any suggestion to solve this problem? Thanks in advance.

  • Python: nonblocking read from stdout of threaded subprocess

    - by sberry2A
I have a script (worker.py) that prints unbuffered output in the form... 1 2 3 . . . n where n is some constant number of iterations a loop in this script will make. In another script (service_controller.py) I start a number of threads, each of which starts a subprocess using subprocess.Popen(stdout=subprocess.PIPE, ...); Now, in my main thread (service_controller.py) I want to read the output of each thread's worker.py subprocess and use it to calculate an estimate for the time remaining till completion. I have all of the logic working that reads the stdout from worker.py and determines the last printed number. The problem is that I can not figure out how to do this in a non-blocking way. If I read a constant bufsize then each read will end up waiting for the same data from each of the workers. I have tried numerous ways including using fcntl, select + os.read, etc. What is my best option here? I can post my source if needed, but I figured the explanation describes the problem well enough. Thanks for any help here. EDIT Adding sample code I have a worker that starts a subprocess. class WorkerThread(threading.Thread): def __init__(self): self.completed = 0 self.process = None self.lock = threading.RLock() threading.Thread.__init__(self) def run(self): cmd = ["/path/to/script", "arg1", "arg2"] self.process = subprocess.Popen(cmd, stdout=subprocess.PIPE, bufsize=1, shell=False) #flags = fcntl.fcntl(self.process.stdout, fcntl.F_GETFL) #fcntl.fcntl(self.process.stdout.fileno(), fcntl.F_SETFL, flags | os.O_NONBLOCK) def get_completed(self): self.lock.acquire(); fd = select.select([self.process.stdout.fileno()], [], [], 5)[0] if fd: self.data += os.read(fd, 1) try: self.completed = int(self.data.split("\n")[-2]) except IndexError: pass self.lock.release() return self.completed I then have a ThreadManager. class ThreadManager(): def __init__(self): self.pool = [] self.running = [] self.lock = threading.Lock() def clean_pool(self, pool): for worker in [x for x in pool is not x.isAlive()]: worker.join() pool.remove(worker) del worker return pool def run(self, concurrent=5): while len(self.running) + len(self.pool) > 0: self.clean_pool(self.running) n = min(max(concurrent - len(self.running), 0), len(self.pool)) if n > 0: for worker in self.pool[0:n]: worker.start() self.running.extend(self.pool[0:n]) del self.pool[0:n] time.sleep(.01) for worker in self.running + self.pool: worker.join() and some code to run it. threadManager = ThreadManager() for i in xrange(0, 5): threadManager.pool.append(WorkerThread()) threadManager.run() I have stripped out a log of the other code in hopes to try to pinpoint the issue.

  • assembly registers beginner

    - by Dnaiel
So I've been getting into a bit of assembly lately and I'm a beginner so i was wondering if someone could clarify something. I take it every process has it's own set of registers, and each thread can modify these registers right?. How then do multiple threads use the same registers without causing clashes? Or does each thread have its own set of registers?

  • Singleton pattern in web applications

    - by ryudice
I'm using a singleton pattern for the datacontext in my web application so that I dont have to instantiate it every time, however I'm not sure how web applications work, does IIS open a thread for every user connected? if so, what would happend if my singleton is not thread safe? Also, is it OK to use a singleton pattern for the datacontext? Thanks.

  • Win32 Event vs Semaphore

    - by JP
Basically I need a replacement for Condition Variable and SleepConditionVariableCS because it only support Vista and UP. (For C++) Some suggested to use Semaphore, I also found CreateEvent. Basically, I need to have on thread waiting on WaitForSingleObject, until something one or more others thread tell me there is something to do. In which context should I use a Semaphore vs an Win Event? Thanks

  • Trying to convert simple midlet application to Android application but running into problems.

    - by chobo2
Hi I am trying to do some threading in Android so I took an old threading assignment I had done fora midlet and took out the midlet code and replaced it with android code(such as textview). package com.assignment1; import android.app.Activity; import android.os.Bundle; import android.widget.TextView; public class Threading extends Activity { private TextView tortose; private TextView hare; private Thread hareThread; private Thread torotoseThread; private int num = 0; private int num2 = 0; public Threading() { } /** Called when the activity is first created. */ @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.main); tortose = (TextView) findViewById(R.id.TextView01); hare = (TextView) findViewById(R.id.TextView02); Hare newHare = new Hare(); hareThread = new Thread(newHare); hareThread.start(); Torotose newTortose = new Torotose(); torotoseThread = new Thread(newTortose); torotoseThread.start(); //updateDisplay(); } private synchronized void check(int value1, int value2) { if((value1-value2) >= 10) { try { wait(); } catch(Exception ex) { System.out.println(ex); } } } private synchronized void getGoing(int value1, int value2) { if((value1-value2) == 0) { try { notify(); } catch(Exception ex) { System.out.println(ex); } } } private class Hare extends Thread { public void run() { while(true) { num++; hare.setText(Integer.toString(num)); check(num, num2); try { // are threads different in andriod apps? Thread.sleep(100); // hareThread.sleep(100); } catch(Exception ex) { System.out.println(ex); } } } } private class Torotose extends Thread { public void run() { while(true) { num2++; tortose.setText(Integer.toString(num2)); getGoing(num,num2); try { Thread.sleep(200); //torotoseThread.sleep(200); } catch(Exception ex) { System.out.println(ex); } } } } } First it wanted me to change my threads to like static threads. So is this just how Android does it? Next when I run this code it just crashes with some unexpected error. I am not sure what the error is but when I try to debug it and goes to like to create a new "hare" object it shows me this. // Compiled from ClassLoader.java (version 1.5 : 49.0, super bit) public abstract class java.lang.ClassLoader { // Method descriptor #8 ()V // Stack: 3, Locals: 1 protected ClassLoader(); • Audio recording and playback using NAudio

    - by Egon
When I try recording audio following this here, and using the related source code from here in the (voicerecorder.audio project), I face the problem that the recording stops within moments of starting and so does the playback. the recorded file is 46 bytes, and playback is there for less than a second, basically, the thread jumps to the next statement immediately. If I try to sleep the thread, it doesn't help. What can I do to keep it in the recording mode or playback mode until user interrupt ?

  • Java ReentrantReadWriteLocks - how to safely acquire write lock?

    - by Andrzej Doyle
I am using in my code at the moment a ReentrantReadWriteLock to synchronize access over a tree-like structure. This structure is large, and read by many threads at once with occasional modifications to small parts of it - so it seems to fit the read-write idiom well. I understand that with this particular class, one cannot elevate a read lock to a write lock, so as per the Javadocs one must release the read lock before obtaining the write lock. I've used this pattern successfully in non-reentrant contexts before. What I'm finding however is that I cannot reliably acquire the write lock without blocking forever. Since the read lock is reentrant and I am actually using it as such, the simple code lock.getReadLock().unlock(); lock.getWriteLock().lock() can block if I have acquired the readlock reentrantly. Each call to unlock just reduces the hold count, and the lock is only actually released when the hold count hits zero. EDIT to clarify this, as I don't think I explained it too well initially - I am aware that there is no built-in lock escalation in this class, and that I have to simply release the read lock and obtain the write lock. My problem is/was that regardless of what other threads are doing, calling getReadLock().unlock() may not actually release this thread's hold on the lock if it acquired it reentrantly, in which case the call to getWriteLock().lock() will block forever as this thread still has a hold on the read lock and thus blocks itself. For example, this code snippet will never reach the println statement, even when run singlethreaded with no other threads accessing the lock: final ReadWriteLock lock = new ReentrantReadWriteLock(); lock.getReadLock().lock(); // In real code we would go call other methods that end up calling back and // thus locking again lock.getReadLock().lock(); // Now we do some stuff and realise we need to write so try to escalate the // lock as per the Javadocs and the above description lock.getReadLock().unlock(); // Does not actually release the lock lock.getWriteLock().lock(); // Blocks as some thread (this one!) holds read lock System.out.println("Will never get here"); So I ask, is there a nice idiom to handle this situation? Specifically, when a thread that holds a read lock (possibly reentrantly) discovers that it needs to do some writing, and thus wants to "suspend" its own read lock in order to pick up the write lock (blocking as required on other threads to release their holds on the read lock), and then "pick up" its hold on the read lock in the same state afterwards? Since this ReadWriteLock implementation was specifically designed to be reentrant, surely there is some sensible way to elevate a read lock to a write lock when the locks may be acquired reentrantly? This is the critical part that means the naive approach does not work.

  • Where to stop/destroy threads in Android Service class?

    - by niko
    Hi, I have created a threaded service the following way: public class TCPClientService extends Service{ ... @Override public void onCreate() { ... Measurements = new LinkedList<String>(); enableDataSending(); } @Override public IBinder onBind(Intent intent) { //TODO: Replace with service binding implementation return null; } @Override public void onLowMemory() { Measurements.clear(); super.onLowMemory(); }; @Override public void onDestroy() { Measurements.clear(); super.onDestroy(); try { SendDataThread.stop(); } catch(Exception e) { } }; private Runnable backgrounSendData = new Runnable() { public void run() { doSendData(); } }; private void enableDataSending() { SendDataThread = new Thread(null, backgrounSendData, "send_data"); SendDataThread.start(); } private void addMeasurementToQueue() { if(Measurements.size() <= 100) { String measurement = packData(); Measurements.add(measurement); } } private void doSendData() { while(true) { try { if(Measurements.isEmpty()) { Thread.sleep(1000); continue; } //Log.d("TCP", "C: Connecting..."); Socket socket = new Socket(); socket.setTcpNoDelay(true); socket.connect(new InetSocketAddress(serverAddress, portNumber), 3000); //socket.connect(new InetSocketAddress(serverAddress, portNumber)); if(!socket.isConnected()) { throw new Exception("Server Unavailable!"); } try { //Log.d("TCP", "C: Sending: '" + message + "'"); PrintWriter out = new PrintWriter( new BufferedWriter( new OutputStreamWriter(socket.getOutputStream())),true); String message = Measurements.remove(); out.println(message); Thread.sleep(200); Log.d("TCP", "C: Sent."); Log.d("TCP", "C: Done."); connectionAvailable = true; } catch(Exception e) { Log.e("TCP", "S: Error", e); connectionAvailable = false; } finally { socket.close(); announceNetworkAvailability(connectionAvailable); } } catch (Exception e) { Log.e("TCP", "C: Error", e); connectionAvailable = false; announceNetworkAvailability(connectionAvailable); } } } } After I close the application the phone works really slow and I guess it is due to thread termination failure. Does anyone know what is the best way to terminate all threads before terminating the application?

  • Show form that showDialog from mainForm won't block it, but closing mainForm will close it

    - by meme
how yo show a form which needs to run synchronously. I tried running application.run from a queueworker of a threadpool- but I had some invalid handles sometime. tried using a regular thread but then when main form closes it doesn't close this- and I don't really like the idea of killing the thread on_formclosing. if I use form.show it's fine besides that fact that any showdialog from the main form will block also this. What's the best way to handle this?

  • Android 2.1 GoogleMaps ItemizedOverlay ConcurrentModificationException

    - by Soumya Simanta
Hi, I cannot figure out the origin of the ConcurrentModificationException. In my activity I'm calling updateMapOverlay(). I'm also calling updateMapOverlay() inside another Thread (a TimerTask) that is invoked on regular intervals. I'm taking the appropriate locks when invoking updateMapOverlay() from both the threads. Is this problem being caused because I'm invoking updateMapOverlay from inside a non-UI thread (i.e., TimerTask). Has anyone else faced a similar issue ? private void updateMapOverlay() { this.itemizedOverlay.refreshItems(createOverlayItemsList()); List<Overlay> overlays = mapView.getOverlays(); overlays.clear(); overlays.add(cotItemizedOverlay); this.mapview.invalidate(); } Thanks. • ASP.NET Web Service Throws 401 (unauthorized) Error

    - by user268611
Hi Experts, I have this .NET application to be run in an intranet environment. It is configured so that it requires Windows Authentication before you can access the website (Anonymous access is disabled). This website calls a web service (enable anonymous access) and the web service calls the DB. We do have a token-based authentication between the web application and the web service to secure the communication between them. The issue I'm facing is that when I deploy this to production, I'm having an intermittent issue whereby the communication between the web application and the web service failed. The 401 issue was thrown. This is actually working fine in our QA environment. Is this an issue with Active Directory? Or could it be an isssue with FQDN as mentioned here: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;896861? The weirdest thing is that this is happening intermittently when tested in both on the server itself and a remote workstation in my client's environment. But, this is working perfectly in my environment. OS: Windows Server SP1 IIS 6 .NET 3.5 Framework Any idea about the 401 (Unauthorized) issue?? Thx for the help... This is from the log... • How to stop UITableView moveRowAtIndexPath from leaving blank rows upon reordering

    - by coneybeare
    I am having an issue where in reordering my UITableViewCells, the tableView is not scrolling with the cell. Only a blank row appears and any subsequent scrolling gets an Array out of bounds error without any of my code in the Stack Trace. Here is a quick video of the problem. Here is the relevant code: - (BOOL)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView canEditRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { return indexPath.section == 1; } - (BOOL)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView canMoveRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { BOOL ret = indexPath.section == 1 && indexPath.row < self.count; DebugLog(@"canMoveRowAtIndexPath: %d:%d %@", indexPath.section, indexPath.row, (ret ? @"YES" : @"NO")); return ret; } - (void)delayedUpdateCellBackgroundPositionsForTableView:(UITableView *)tableView { [self performSelectorOnMainThread:@selector(updateCellBackgroundPositionsForTableView:) withObject:tableView waitUntilDone:NO]; } - (void)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView moveRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)fromIndexPath toIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)toIndexPath { if (fromIndexPath.row == toIndexPath.row) return; DebugLog(@"Moved audio from %d:%d to %d:%d", fromIndexPath.section, fromIndexPath.row, toIndexPath.section, toIndexPath.row); NSMutableArray *audio = [self.items objectAtIndex:fromIndexPath.section]; [audio exchangeObjectAtIndex:fromIndexPath.row withObjectAtIndex:toIndexPath.row]; [self performSelector:@selector(delayedUpdateCellBackgroundPositionsForTableView:) withObject:tableView afterDelay:kDefaultAnimationDuration/3]; } And here is the generated Stack Trace of the crash: Exception Type: EXC_BREAKPOINT (SIGTRAP) Exception Codes: 0x0000000000000002, 0x0000000000000000 Crashed Thread: 0 Dispatch queue: com.apple.main-thread Application Specific Information: iPhone Simulator 3.2 (193.3), iPhone OS 3.0 (7A341) *** Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSRangeException', reason: '*** -[NSCFArray removeObjectsInRange:]: index (6) beyond bounds (6)' Thread 0 Crashed: Dispatch queue: com.apple.main-thread 0 CoreFoundation 0x302ac924 ___TERMINATING_DUE_TO_UNCAUGHT_EXCEPTION___ + 4 1 libobjc.A.dylib 0x93cb2509 objc_exception_throw + 56 2 CoreFoundation 0x3028e5fb +[NSException raise:format:arguments:] + 155 3 CoreFoundation 0x3028e55a +[NSException raise:format:] + 58 4 Foundation 0x305684e9 _NSArrayRaiseBoundException + 121 5 Foundation 0x30553a6e -[NSCFArray removeObjectsInRange:] + 142 6 UIKit 0x30950105 -[UITableView(_UITableViewPrivate) _updateVisibleCellsNow] + 862 7 UIKit 0x30947715 -[UITableView layoutSubviews] + 250 8 QuartzCore 0x0090bd94 -[CALayer layoutSublayers] + 78 9 QuartzCore 0x0090bb55 CALayerLayoutIfNeeded + 229 10 QuartzCore 0x0090b3ae CA::Context::commit_transaction(CA::Transaction*) + 302 11 QuartzCore 0x0090b022 CA::Transaction::commit() + 292 12 QuartzCore 0x009132e0 CA::Transaction::observer_callback(__CFRunLoopObserver*, unsigned long, void*) + 84 13 CoreFoundation 0x30245c32 __CFRunLoopDoObservers + 594 14 CoreFoundation 0x3024503f CFRunLoopRunSpecific + 2575 15 CoreFoundation 0x30244628 CFRunLoopRunInMode + 88 16 GraphicsServices 0x32044c31 GSEventRunModal + 217 17 GraphicsServices 0x32044cf6 GSEventRun + 115 18 UIKit 0x309021ee UIApplicationMain + 1157 19 XXXXXXXX 0x0000278a main + 104 (main.m:12) 20 XXXXXXXX 0x000026f6 start + 54 NOte that the array out of bounds length is not the length of my elements (I have 9), but always something smaller. I have been trying to solve this for many hours days without avail… any ideas? UPDATE: More code as requested In my delegate: - (UITableViewCellEditingStyle)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView editingStyleForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { return UITableViewCellEditingStyleNone; } - (NSIndexPath *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView targetIndexPathForMoveFromRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)sourceIndexPath toProposedIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)proposedDestinationIndexPath { int count = [(UAPlaylistEditDataSource *)self.dataSource count]; if (proposedDestinationIndexPath.section == 0) { return [NSIndexPath indexPathForRow:0 inSection:sourceIndexPath.section]; }else if (proposedDestinationIndexPath.row >= count) { return [NSIndexPath indexPathForRow:count-1 inSection:sourceIndexPath.section]; } return proposedDestinationIndexPath; } …thats about it. I am using the three20 framework and I have not had any issues with reordering till now. The problem is also not in the updateCellBackgroundPositionsForTableView: method as it still crashes when this is commented out.

  • Huge anon blocks in pmap

    - by Parik
I am doing a pmap on a tomcat process and I am seeing some huge anon blocks. From what I read anon blocks are used for thread stacks and for JNI. I have a very moderate thread count. How can I go about finding out what is causing these huge anon blocks? 00000000ee0d0000 26752K rwx-- [ anon ] 00000000efaf0000 33792K rwx-- [ anon ] 00000000f1bf0000 25856K rwx-- [ anon ] 00000000f3530000 39680K rwx-- [ anon ] ( on a side note is pmap the correct way to measure how much memory is allocated to tomcat?)

  • Java LockSupport Memory Consistency

    - by Lachlan
Java 6 API question. Does calling LockSupport.unpark(thread) have a happens-before relationship to the return from LockSupport.park in the just-unparked thread? I strongly suspect the answer is yes, but the Javadoc doesn't seem to mention it explicitly.

  • Strange Integer.parseInt exception

    - by Albinoswordfish
Exception in thread "Thread-2" java.lang.NumberFormatException: For input string: "3" int test = Integer.parseInt(result[0]); This is the error I keep getting when I'm trying to convert "3" to an integer. Well I'm receiving this "3" through a RS-232 port, so maybe this is what is causing the error. If anybody has any idea what could be causing this it would be appreciated.

  • Strange threads in application in Win7 WOW64

    - by Shcheklein
We are observing 4-6 threads on Windows 7 x64 in the application which have 3 threads and behaves normally on any Windows (either 32 or 64 bit) prior Windows 7. Process Explorer shows the following "unknown" thread: ntdll.dll!EtwDeliverDataBlock+offset after random interval the following threads appear: ntdll.dll!TpCallbackIndependent+offset ntdll.dll!TpCallbackIndependent+offset after that application can't create thread (error code 8, hot enough space ...). It seems to me that some system DLL creates ETW threads or something. Does anyone know what these threads for and how to manage them?

  • How to I pass @selector as a parameter?

    - by erotsppa
For the method [NSThread detachNewThreadSelector:@selector(method:) toTarget:self withObject:(id)SELECTOR]; How do I pass in a @selector? I tried casting it to (id) to make it compile but it crashes in runtime. More specifically, I have a method like this +(void)method1:(SEL)selector{ [NSThread detachNewThreadSelector:@selector(method2:) toTarget:self withObject:selector]; } it crashes, how do I pass in the selector without crashing? So that the new thread can call the selector when the thread is ready?
