• shell script fun! performing action on each subdirectory from a given path

  I am writing a shell script (which I suck at) and I need some help. Its a script that is moving things from git to CVS (not important). The thing is, i a file path: controllers/listbuilder/setup/SubmissionRolesListbuilderHandler.inc.php and I need to be able to do: cvs add controllers; cvs add controllers/listbuilder; cvs add controllers/listbuilder/setup; cvs add controllers/listbuilder/setup/SubmissionRolesListbuilderHandler.inc.php Can someone help me out? The best I've come up with so far is to recursively add ALL files in my working tree, but that seems overly inefficient.

  Hello. I would like to know if there's a combo like jCryption ([jCryption]) - PHP but for jQuery - ASPX. I mean, I have been searching for a combo to send data both ways (Client-server, server-client) with jQuery to ASPX. The best I found was jCryption that sends data from JavaScrpit to PHP. I need a combo to send data from JavaScrpit to ASPX. Any ideas?? PD: Please don't tell me to use HTTPS, it's not enough to ensure the data communication on a client - server application.

• What would I use to remove escaped html from large sets of data.

  Our database is filled with articles retrieved from RSS feeds. I was unsure of what data I would be getting, and how much filtering was already setup (WP-O-Matic Wordpress plugin using the SimplePie library). This plugin does some basic encoding before insertion using Wordpress's built in post insert function which also does some filtering. I've figured out most of the filters before insertion, but now I have whacko data that I need to remove. And PHP times out on large database operations, so that's pretty much out unless I wanted to do batch processing and what not. PS One of the nice things about using Wordpress's insert post function, is that if you use php's strip_tags function to strip out all html, insert post function will insert <p> at the paragraph points. • DirectoryIndex not working because of mod_rewrite?

  Requests to www.domainname.com and domainname.com should display index.html, not index.php as it does now. • How to handle empty return from getJSON

  Alright so I have a php script which gets results from a DB, and to get those results I'm using a jQuery script to pull the results via getJSON. It works perfectly but now I want to do something if the php script returns no results (empty). I tried: $.getJSON('path/to/script'), {parameter:parameter}, function(data){ if (data) { alert('Result'); } else { alert('Empty); } }); But it's no good. I've tried different things like if (data.length) but still nothing. I've noticed that if there is no returned data the callback will never fire at all. So if that's the case, how do I handle a empty return?

  I'm trying to create my first custom Google Gadget to be used privately in my company's Google Sites intranet. Ideally I'd like to just show a thumbnail that the user can click that will open a modal window with the full video. This requires my including a couple of small JS libraries in my widget. For my widget I created this XML: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <Module> <ModulePrefs title="Video Demos" /> <Content view="url" href="http://www.website.com/_gadgets/video.php"> </Content> </Module> The "video.php" page has simple HTML on it and includes two JS files for the modal window using but doesn't work. Are you not able to include external scripts like this? If not, what are my options here?

  Hi, I'm trying to send an email merging one document (docx) with a contacts database (via OleDB). Using MSWord2007, it seems easy (it works for easy things: name, address, ...) but I can't find how fill an query-get url string with a merge field inside an hyperlink. An hyperlink like: Click here where here is an hyperlink to http://domain.com/[email protected] where [email protected] is the address of the contact, a merge field. I've tried the special/merge fields: {HYPERLINK "http://domain.com/test.php?contact={MERGEFIELD contactEmail}" \o "Here"} but it doesn't work, sometimes it merge only the first record and then send all the mails with the same address, I got this alternating the view with ALT+F9. This support doc doesn't work for me because I don't have the complete URL in my database for each contact, and I can't change the design of the table or add a view (it's from the CRM), I don't like to do it exporting the table and adding the field. • Link phpbb usernames to drupal profiles

  I'm using drupal and phpbb with a bridge called phpbbforum. It works quite well, the user information is synched between the drupal and phpbb databases. The forum is embeded in a drupal page, so all variables that come with page.tpl.php should be avaliable. I want drupal to be the only profile handler, so when someone clicks on a phpbb username, that person get's linked to the drupal profile. In phpbbs template files, the link to the profile is called by function get_username_string. I think the right place to edit it is in the /includes/functions_content.php file on line 1178. Right above that line it says "* Get username details for placing into templates." and there's a section about profile links. I just can't figure out how to edit it so that the profile links lead to drupal profiles. Can anyone figure this one out?

  I am having an issue with setting the background-image of a #x to the background image of #y. Correct me if I am wrong but I think you would do this in a simple case by saying $('#x').css('background-image',$('#y').css('background-image')); The problem is that when y was initially set up, it was set up like this: <div id='y' style='background-image: url(./randomcolor.php?ibase=<?php echo $entity->name; ?>) .... So when it does it, it is getting the URL of the generator, and javascript is just regarding that as a string. Do I have to do an ajax get here, or is there some kind of eval I could use.

• Why Am I Getting MySQL Error #1312 when Using a Simple Stored Procedure?

  Hi, I'm trying to learn how to use MySQL stored procedures. MySQL accepted my procedure: CREATE PROCEDURE SimpleProc() BEGIN SELECT * FROM myTable; END (In phpMyAdmin, I set // for delimiter. The real version has the name of an actual table instead of myTable.). But, when I call the procedure with CALL SimpleProc();, I get error "#1312 - PROCEDURE mydb.SimpleProc can't return a result set in the given context". I read that some versions of php or phpMyAdmin won't work with stored procedures. I'm using a localhost running on a Mac with MAMP 1.9. I've got MySQL 5.1.44, PHP 5.2.13 & 5.3.2, phpMyAdmin 3.2.5. Does anyone know if stored procedures will work with my set-up? Am I doing something incorrectly? Any advice? Shout out to the Big Red for a triple overtime victory in Lax. Thanks, Laxmidi

• Jqm is not a function

  Hi all, I'm having some trouble with Jquery and JqModal, and I hope you are able to help, since I've been struggling for hours.. Having a single button element with an onclick action running my method "test" (shown below): $('#picture_form').jqm({ajax: '/test.php'}); $('#picture_form').jqmShow(); This will load the ajax content of test.php into my div element picture_form, shown using JqModal as its supposed to! Though when I close this window, and re-clicks the button I'm getting the error: $("#picture_form").jqm is not a function. As a solution I've tried to use the JqModal trigger function, and this leaves me able to open and close the JqModal windows as many times as I want to. Sadly I can only call the 'trigger' using test environment, in my production code I have to open the JqModal window using a function.. Does anyone have a clue why this 'bug' appears when calling the opening when using a function? Thanks in advance

• jQuery $.post with PasteBin API

  Ok, I'm trying to use jQuery $.post with the PasteBin API to create a PasteBin page and grab the URL (which the API says it returns). Here is my code so far: $('#send_code').click(function(){ $.post('http://pastebin.com/api_public.php', { paste_name: $('#paste_name').val(), paste_code: $('#paste_code').val() }, function(data){ alert(data); }); } The above script creates the page just fine (I can find them on PasteBin). However, all that is returned is an empty string. I've tried using this same API with php and cURL, and I'm able to retrieve the URL just fine. Can anyone see if I'm doing something wrong? Thanks!

• CakePHP HABTM: Editing one item casuses HABTM row to get recreated, destroys extra data

  I'm having trouble with my HABTM relationship in CakePHP. I have two models like so: Department HABTM Location. One large company has many buildings, and each building provides a limited number of services. Each building also has its own webpage, so in addition to the HABTM relationship itself, each HABTM row also has a url field where the user can visit to find additional information about the service they're interested and how it operates at the building they're interested in. The problem: If I edit the name of a Location, all of the DepartmentsLocations that were linked to that Location are re-created with empty URLs. Since the models specify that unique is true, this also causes all of the newer rows to overwrite the older rows, which essentially destroys all of the URLs. I would like to know two things: Can I stop this? If so, how? And, on a less technical and more whiney note: Why does this even happen? It seems bizarre to me that editing a field through Cake should cause so much trouble, when I can easily go through phpMyAdmin, edit the Location name there, and get exactly the result I would expect. Why does CakePHP touch the HABTM data when I'm just editing a field on a row? It's not even a foreign key!

• How to keep the session of user login?

  Hi, I have an app that requires user to register. I've got the app conected to PHP in my server to do the logic of register/login and so, this is not problem at all. But, I want to keep a session of the user in local, so the user doesn't have to login again every time he runs the app. So, I want something like this: First time user, he opens the app, register and login. Do some stuff with the app and closes it. Open the app again, the user is recognized so he doesn't need to login again. I only need to store an ID and a Username (both fetched from the DB in the login php method). What's the best way to do this?? I've thought about doing a custom preference, store the data in files or even a local DB (sqlite). Any suggestions?

• glibc backtrace - can't redirect output to file

  Hi, I'm in the process of debugging a C program (that I didn't write). I have all of the internal debugging tools (a whole bunch of printf's) enabled, and I wrote a small PHP script that uses proc_open() and just grabs both stdout and stderr, and time-coordinates them in one file. At the moment, the binary is dieing with a realloc() error that's caught by glibc, and a glibc backtrace is printed, beginning with: *** glibc detected *** /sbin/rsyslogd: realloc(): invalid next size: 0x00002ace626ac910 *** Here's the thing I don't understand: I've confirmed that the PHP script is catching both stdout and stderr from the binary's process and writing them to the correct files, but this backtrace is still printed to the console. Where is this coming from? Is there some magical output channel other than stdout and stderr? Any ideas on how I go about capturing this backtrace to a file, or sending it out with stderr? • Is there a name for a language feature that allows assignment/creation?

  This is a bit hard for me to articulate, but in PHP you can say something like: $myArray['someindex'] = "my string"; and if there is no index named that, it will create/assign the value, and if there IS an index, it will overwrite the existing value. Compare this to Javascript where today I had to do checks like so: if (!myObject[key]) myObject[key] = "value"; I know this may be a bit of a picky point, but is there a name for the ability of PHP (and many other languages) to do these checks on their own as opposed to the more verbose (read: PITA) method of Javascript?

For example RewriteRule ^Flash$ /index.php?section=flash [L,NC] By using this code when i hot domain.com/Flash it redirects me to www.domain.com/index.php? section=flash. This works fine. But now what i want to have two more site with the same htaccess file. So can anyone help me in redirecting the url with same htaccess for multiple site. Can i find the base url and redirect depending on that??

  Hey, Im using codeigniter and want to make my portal a bit more seo friendly. I have a controller (articles) witch handles every article, on my portal. The URL looks like this: example.com/articles/category-sub-category/article-name I'm using mod rewrite module to hide my index.php, and codeigniter routing to hide the controller action that handles every call. I want to hide articles too, but if i hide it, every call goes to the articles controller, and thats not what i want, because i want my url look like this: example.com/category-sub-category/article-name Ive tried it with regexp routing rules in the routes.php but i found no way to make it right.

• Escaping ampersands in URLs for HttpClient requests

  So I've got some Java code that uses Jakarta HttpClient like this: URI aURI = new URI( "http://host/index.php?title=" + title + "&action=edit" ); GetMethod aRequest = new GetMethod( aURI.getEscapedPathQuery()); The problem is that if title includes any ampersands (&), they're considered parameter delimiters and the request goes screwy... and if I replace them with the URL-escaped equivalent %26, then this gets double-escaped by getEscapedPathQuery() into %2526. I'm currently working around this by basically repairing the damage afterward: URI aURI = new URI( "http://host/index.php?title=" + title.replace("&", "%26") + "&action=edit" ); GetMethod aRequest = new GetMethod( aURI.getEscapedPathQuery().replace("%2526", "%26")); But there has to be a nicer way to do this, right? Note that the title can contain any number of unpredictable UTF-8 chars etc, so escaping everything else is a requirement.
