These are webpages that use the ms-help:// protocol that Firefox cannot understand. So I wanted to specify the ms-help:// path of the help page as a command line argument to the viewer, CLVIEW.EXE.     I'm trying to get Python socket working as an alternative to calling the command line socat.   • How to use a specific Windows SDK with MSBuild?

    I have a large project made of many C++ and C# projects, and a MSBuild (3.5) script to build the whole thing. This script is based on the VCBuild (C++ projects) and MSBuild (C# projects) tasks. It is regularly executed by a Continuous Integration server. I want to be able to select a specific Windows SDK (v6.0A, v7.0, v7.1...) to be used for compilation. As I have many branches in my repository that would ultimately need a different SDK version, I need a way to select the right one before each compilation. On my computer, I have been able to setup a batch script that calls the right SetEnv.cmd before launching the MSBuild script. But this solution is not usable on the CI server as the MSBuild script is executed directly. Do you know of a way to achieve the equivalent of SetEnv.cmd under MSBuild?

    Hi All, I've just implemented build and deploy process which consists of java files, ant script and cmd files. In the process, a release manager will have to check out source, hit the build.cmd button and then carry a zip file over to a server. I am wondering if it is worthwhile to make a GUI for it? So that the release manager does not need to check out source manually for example? How do I start? I have quite limited knowledge of javax, but I very much like to learn. Thanks, Sarah

All I need is to confirm that a given filename matches against compatible filetypes.

Since control returns to the WCF system after the completion of that method, I don't know how I can close that connection afterwards.     Running the following code against a large PostgreSQL table, the NpgsqlDataReader object blocks until all data is fetched. NpgsqlCommand cmd = new NpgsqlCommand(strQuery, _conn); NpgsqlDataReader reader = cmd.ExecuteReader(); // <-- takes 30 seconds How can I get it to behave such that it doesn't prefetch all the data? I want to step through the resultset row by row without having it fetch all 15 GB into memory at once. I know there were issues with this sort of thing in Npgsql 1.x but I'm on 2.0. This is against a PostgreSQL 8.3 database on XP/Vista/7. I also don't have any funky "force Npgsql to prefetch" stuff in my connection string. I'm at a complete loss for why this is happening.

    My idea is to create some generic classes for Insert/Update/Select via a C# (3.5) Winforms app talking with a MySQL database via MySQL .NET Connector 6.2.2. For example: public void Insert(string strSQL) { if (this.OpenConnection() == true) { MySqlCommand cmd = new MySqlCommand(strSQL, connection); cmd.ExecuteNonQuery(); this.CloseConnection(); } } Then from anywhere in the program I can run a query with/without user input by just passing a SQL query string. Reading around on SO is starting to give me the indication that this may lead to SQL injection attacks (for any user-input values). Is there anyway of scrubbing the inputted strSQL or do I need to go and create individual parameterized queries in every method that needs to do a database function?

    I manage project for JNI for both compilers: MSVC++ 8.0 and 9.0, my cpp file contains following implementation: extern "C" { JNIEXPORT jlong JNICALL Java_context_ServiceProviderContext_StartServiceProvider (JNIEnv * env, jclass, jstring jspath){ ..... } With help of depends.exe utility I can see that MSVC 8.0 successfully exports function as it is expected: Java_context_ServiceProviderContext_StartServiceProvider But compiling under MSVC 9.0 gets me crazy it exports like ignoring extern "C" at all. depends.exe shows me: _Java_context_ServiceProviderContext_StartServiceProvider@12 Does anybody know what exactly in 9.0 project that causes this behavior?

The interop is achieved by a one of the .NET dlls being referenced by the VB6 app which seems to require REGASM-ing of an associated .tlb file. If I want to change only the VB6 app .exe, could I just compile it and drop it into the app folder on existing installations or are there going to be binding issues?

    I'm building a custom db deployment utility, I need to read text files containing sql scripts and execute them against the database. Pretty easy stuff, so far so good. However I've encountered a snag, the contents of the file are read successfully and entirely, but once passed into the SqlCommand and then executed with SqlCommand.ExecuteNonQuery only part of the script is executed.     Can you use a UTF-8 string as the Arguments for a StartInfo? I am trying to pass a UTF-8 (in this case a Japanese string) to an application as a console argument. Something like this (this is just an example! (cmd.exe would be a custom app)) var process = new System.Diagnostics.Process(); process.StartInfo.Arguments = "/K \"echo ????????\""; process.StartInfo.FileName = "cmd.exe"; process.StartInfo.UseShellExecute = true; process.Start(); process.WaitForExit(); Executing this seems to loose the UTF-8 string and all the target application sees is "echo ?????????" When executing this command directly on the command line (by pasting the arguments) the target application receives the string correctly even though the command line itself doesn't seem to display it correctly. Do I need to do anything special to enable UTF-8 support in the arguments or is this just not supported?

    I managed to set the compiler to execute another program when the project is built/ran with the following directive in project options: call program.exe param1 param2 The problem is that the compiler executes "program.exe" and waits for it to terminate and THEN the project executable is ran. What I ask: How to set the compiler to run both executables in paralel without waiting for the one in PostBuild event to terminate? Thanks in advance
