• How can I extend / create a new partition from the following setup?

  I'm a little unsure what to do in this situation. When I try to create a new simple volume from the unallocated space I get an error because I already have 4 partitions. I have no option to extend either my C:\ primary partition or the E:\ logical drive. C:\ - Gaming Win7 install. D:\ - Storage Unallocated Space - Would somehow like to install OSX on a partition from this space. E:\ - Software Development Win7 install. I:\ - Ignore this. It's an external 1TB HDD. Do I have any options that do not involve formatting / losing information on either C:\ or E:\? Thank you. Link to visual disk partitioning setup image. • Make eix available version match emerge

  We have out Gentoo hosts using a binhost with EMERGE_DEFAULT_OPTS="--getbinpkgonly --usepkgonly" in the make.conf file so that the host only pulled down the binary hosts. All works well from that side. I use eix to check on software versions for upgrades but have hit a problem where eix will see an available version ahead of what is available on the binserver. • How to get only one rounded corner with border-radius htc hack and MSIE v:roundrect?

  I have a problem with partially rounded corners. See the first working example for most browsers: .box { display: block; width: 100px; height: 100px; border: 1px solid black; background-color: yellow; -moz-border-radius-bottomright: 10px; -webkit-border-bottom-right-radius: 10px; } You can see that only bottom right corner should be rounded. Natural choice would be adding a border-radius.htc hack inside a conditional IE statement: .box { border-bottom-right-radius: 20px; behavior:url(border-radius.htc); } This is not working because border-radius.htc file is only accessing normal border-radius value (this.currentStyle['border-radius']). VML used by the hack is roundrect which only supports one percentage value for arcsize. So I was wondering if there is any other way around the problem by using some other VML elements? Another problem is that htc-file doesnt's support borders but that can be fixed with VML's stroked attribute. Nifty corners for example doesn't work well with corners at all.

• ASP.NET 4.0 UpdatePanel and UserControl with PlaceHolder

  I don't know if this is ASP.NET 4.0 specific but I don't recall having this problem in previous versions. I have very simple user control called "TestModal" that contains a PlaceHolder control which I use to instantiate a template in. When I put an UpdatePanel inside this UserControl on the page the updatepanel only does full postbacks and not partial postbacks. What gives? • JQuery BlockUI with UpdatePanel Viewstate Issue

  I am using BlockUI to show a modal. Within the blocked modal I have an update panel. Within the update panel I have a textbox and a button that submits the content back to the server. Everything works fine up to this point (the blockUI is called, the modal appears, and the button performs the postback). However, when the button's click event is fired the value for the textbox is consistently empty even if text was entered. When the update panel updates the textbox shows up blank. • Sharepoint People Editor within Update Panel - Cannot set value after partial postback

  trying to set default value in the people picker with an update panel. On a test page without an update panel, the code PeopleEditor1.CommaSeparatedAccounts = "domain\\user.account"; works just fine. As soon as I add an update panel around that people editor the picker's text area gets cleared out and future calls to the above snippet are ignored. • Segmentation fault on MPI, runs properly on OpenMP

  Hi, I am trying to run a program on a computer cluster. The structure of the program is the following: PROGRAM something ... CALL subroutine1(...) ... END PROGRAM SUBROUTINE subroutine1(...) ... DO i=1,n CALL subroutine2(...) ENDDO ... END SUBROUTINE SUBROUTINE subroutine2(...) ... CALL subroutine3(...) CALL subroutine4(...) ... END SUBROUTINE The idea is to parallelize the loop that calls subroutine2. Main program basically only makes the call to subroutine1 and only its arguments are declared. I use two alternatives. On the one hand, I write OpenMP clauses arround the loop. On the other hand, I add an IF conditional branch arround the call and I use MPI to share the results. In the OpenMP case, I add CALL KMP_SET_STACKSIZE(402653184) at the beginning of the main program and I can run it with 8 threads on an 8 core machine. When I run it (on the same 8 core machine) with MPI (either using 8 or 1 processors) it crashes just when makes the call to subroutine3 with a segmentation fault (signal 11) error. If I comment subroutine4, then it doesn't crash (notice that it crashed just when calling subroutine3 and it works when commenting subroutine4). I compile with mpif90 using MPICH2 libraries and the following flags: -O3 -fpscomp logicals -openmp -threads -m64 -xS. The machine has EM64T architecture and I use a Debian Linux distribution. I set ulimit -s hard before running the program. Any ideas on what is going on? Has it something to do with stack size? Thanks in advance

My problem is that I can't seem to get an UpdatePanel to work properly with a CheckBox inside of it. • Extract known pattern substring from NSString (without regex)

  I'm really tempted to drop RegexKit (or my own libpcre wrapper) into my project in order to do this, but before I do that I want to know how Cocoa developers manage to do half of this basic stuff without really convoluted code or without linking with RegexKit or another regular expression library. I find it gobsmacking that Cocoa does not include any regular expression matching features. I've so accustomed to using regular expressions for all kinds of things that I'm lost without them. I can do what I need without them, but the code would be rather convoluted. So, Cocoa devs, I ask you, what's the "Cocoa way" to do this... The problem is an everyday problem in programming as far as I'm concerned. Cocoa must have ways of doing this with the built-in features. Note that the position of the elements I want to match changes, and sometimes "quotes" are present. Whitespace is variable. Take the following strings: Content-Type: application/xml; charset=utf-8 Content-Type: text/html; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Type: text/plain; name="example.txt"; charset=utf-8 From all of these strings, how would you go about determining the mime type (e.g. text/plain) and the charset (e.g. utf-8) using just the built-in Cocoa classes? I'd end up performing a series of -rangeOfString: and substring calls, with conditional checks to deal with the optional quotes etc. Is there a way to do this with NSScanner? The NSScanner class seems to have a pretty naive API to me. Something like C's sscanf() that works for NSString objects would be an ideal fit. Most of my string parsing needs are simple such as this example so maybe regular expressions, while I'm accustomed to them, are overkill?

  hi, I have a page and on that page i have a button and a user control. I want to refresh the user control without refreshing the page. I know i cannot do it otherwise so i did is... • vbCrLf in Multiline TextBox shows up only when .Trim() is called

  I have an ASP TextBox with TextMode set to MultiLine. I'm having problems with preserving the vbCrLf characters when a user tries to put line breaks into the text. When a button on the page is pressed, I'm taking the text from the control, trimming it using String.Trim, and assigning that value to a String property on an object (which, in turn assigns it to a private internal String variable on the object). The object then takes the value from the private internal variable and throws it into the database using a stored procedure call (the SP parameter it is put into is an nvarchar(4000)). • UpdatePanel doesn't do partial-page update, and IsInAsyncPostBack is always false

  I'm attempting to use an UpdatePanel, but can't get partial-page updates to work. When I look at the ScriptManager's IsInAsyncPostBack property, it's always false. Here's a page that reproduces the issue. • can't get jquery livequery to with an update panel

  I have some basic html inside an asp.net update panel. Using livequery, I set up autocomplete, blur and keydown events so that they all continue to be wired up after the update panel does a partial page load. When the page initially loads, all the events work fine but after the update panel does a partial page reload, none of the events wired up with livequery continue to work. Are there known issues with livequery and update panels?   Hello, I am trying to write a simple internal app with some simple authentication. I'm also trying to make this quick and learn about the forms authentication via web.config. So i have my authentication working if I hard code my 'user name' and 'password' into C# code and do a simple conditional. However, I'm having a tough time storing the a user/pass to be checked against in the web.config file. • Why is this code invalid in C#?

  The following code will not compile: string foo = "bar"; Object o = foo == null ? DBNull.Value : foo; I get: Error 1 Type of conditional expression cannot be determined because there is no implicit conversion between 'System.DBNull' and 'string' To fix this, I must do something like this: string foo = "bar"; Object o = foo == null ? DBNull.Value : (Object)foo; This cast seems pointless as this is certainly legal: string foo = "bar"; Object o = foo == null ? "gork" : foo; It seems to me that when the ternary branches are of different types, the compiler will not autobox the values to the type object...but when they are of the same type then the autoboxing is automatic. In my mind the first statement should be legal... Can anyone describe why the compiler does not allow this and why the designers of C# chose to do this? I believe this is legal in Java...Though I have not verified this. Thanks. EDIT: I am asking for an understanding of why Java and C# handle this differently, what is going on underneath the scenes in C# that make this invalid. I know how to use ternary, and am not looking for a "better way" to code the examples. I understand the rules of ternary in C#, but I want to know WHY... • Use any CSS compiler (Sass, Less) to generate the selector

  So I've recently been playing around with CSS compilers, but I have no idea how (or if it's possible) to dynamically generate pieces of a selector. For instance, let's say I wanted to make mixins to get display: inline-block; to work cross browser. I would have to do the styles, yeah, but I would have to do the IE6/7 selector hacks to get them to work in those browsers too. Ideally I'm looking for a one off thing to add to an element and have the ability for that to work. Some kind person recently gave me this solution: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2746754/css-compilers-and-converting-ie-hacks-to-conditional-css/2747036#2747036 and it would be nice to implement that in a minimal way that would allow me to specify it for a given element and be on my way (for instance in Less, you can create a class with styles, pass that class to another element, and that element will inherit all of those styles. It would be nice to pass an element .inline-block; and it create the styles needed to support IE6/7 without having to resort to stuff like _color: pink; Any ideas? EDIT: for instance as well, how could I do something like clearfix for LESS? (lesscss.org)? If Sass can only do it then that will work too.

  My programming language has no arrays, no lists, no pointers, no eval and no variable variables. All it has: Ordinary variables like you know them from most programming languages: They all have an exact name and a value. One stack. Functions provided are: push (add element to top), pop (remove element from top, get value) and empty (check if stack is empty) My language is turing-complete. (Basic arithmetics, conditional jumps, etc implemented) That means, it must be possible to implement some sort of list or array, right? But I have no idea how... What I want to achieve: Create a function which can retrieve and/or change an element x of the stack. I could easily add this function in the implementation of my language, in the interpreter, but I want to do it in my programming language. "Solution" one (Accessing an element x, counting from the stack top) Create a loop. Pop off the element from the stack top x times. The last element popped of is element number x. I end up with a destroyed stack. Solution two: Do the same as above, but store all popped off values in a second stack. Then you could move all elements back after you are done. But you know what? I don't have a second stack!
