  • Rails, Edit page update in a window

    I have my code working so that I have a table of businesses. There's a pencil icon you can click on the edit the business information. The edit information comes up in a partial inside of a modal pop up box. The only problem is that once they make the changes they want and click update, it sends them to the 'show' page for that business. What I want to happen is have the pop up box close and have it update the information.     Hello, I'm completely new to MySql and haven't used SqlDataSource with UpdateParameters before, so I'm probably missing something very obvious. When trying to update a record, the update does happen but then throws an error saying "'id' parameter is missing at the statement". So the query works and the database gets updated as it should, but an error is thrown afterwards.     I'm looking for a way to have the Xcode IDE pick up on the contents of my weird Boost template classes. Basically, classes complex enough that Xcode can't display their contents correctly. Is there something like the Objective C -description method or toString() in Java that Xcode will look for? At the moment I'm just implementing print() methods and invoking them in gdb, but that's likely to confuse other developers.

So you can see that the actual size of the page is quite small - there are gaps on top, left and right sides. Is there any way to resize the page, so there are no gaps?     Let me describe my question - I have a Java application - Hibernate as the DB interfacing layer over MySQL. I get the communications link failure error in my application. The occurence of this error is a very specific case. I get this error , When I leave mysql server unattended for more than approximately 6 hours (i.e. when there are no queries issued to MySQL for more than approximately 6 hours). The last packet sent successfully to the server was 0 milliseconds ago. - Caused by: java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused: connect the link to the pastebin for further investigation - http://pastebin.com/4KujAmgD What I understand from these exception statements is that MySQL is refusing to take in any connections after a period of idle/nil activity. I have been reading up a bit about this via google search, and came to know that one of the possible ways to overcome this is to set values for c3p0 properties as c3p0 comes bundled with Hibernate. Specifically, I read from here http://www.mchange.com/projects/c3p0/index.html that setting two properties idleConnectionTestPeriod and preferredTestQuery will solve this for me. But these values dont seem to have had an effect. Is this the correct approach to fixing this? If not, what is the right way to get over this?     I really like the strtotime() function, but the user manual doesn't give a complete description of the supported date formats. strtotime('dd/mm/YYYY') doesn't work, it works only with mm/dd/YYYY format. if i have date in dd/mm/YYYY format, ho can i convert it to YYYY-mm-dd? i can do it by using explode() function, but i think tere are better solution.   • importing modules in app engine

    Ive asked this before, but it seems i wasnt clear/detailed enough and after a week of trying im still struggling so i will try again. i am trying to use, oauth2 and ply on app engine. i have tried copying their directories into my app engine project directory (in the form ply-3.4 or brosner-python-oauth2-82a05f9) and i have tried copying the specific sub directory contained within the aforemention one. (ply or oauth2) i have tried saying import oauth2, from brosner-oauth2_python-82a05f9 import oauth and other variations on the theme, but i still cant get it to work nothing has worked. i have tried including them in app.yaml, but that seemed to create an even bigger error as my entire project wouldnt even run when i tried that. and now i have run out of things to try. the error log i am getting is as follows.
