  • Puttting together binding navigators in a project

    - by vp789
I am working on a group project in vb.net, in which all my team members are working on individual tables of a database. All of us are using binding navigator, where the GUI is created by drag and drop from the table. Is it possible to attach all these pieces together with imports or references? Will the changes made to the database while working on the program like table adapter can create problem? Do I need to make all those changes in database before importing ? Can you please give suggestions to put the project together.

  • Web application starter kit

    - by Steve Robillard
I am looking for a site that allows you to input a project name, choose a doctype, a js library etc. and then generates the directory structure and files to start a web project. I know about project deploy, but it is no longer maintained. There was a new one that was created within the last 2 or 3 months, but for the life of me I can't find it either through Google nor my delicious bookmarks. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Steve

  • qmake -project command gives QFileInfo warning in Qt 4.6

    - by Pilgrim
I've upgraded to Qt 4.6 on my Mac (OS 10.5). When I go to a project directory and run: qmake -project Qt returns this warning (although it doesn't say it's a warning, I assume it is since the .pro file gets created anyway): QFileInfo::absolutePath: Constructed with empty filename I did a completely new install thinking that the "upgrade" wasn't clean for whatever reason, it still does it. Any ideas as to why? Here is an example .pro that results from above command: ###################################################################### # Automatically generated by qmake (2.01a) Mon Apr 19 07:39:53 2010 ###################################################################### TEMPLATE = app TARGET = DEPENDPATH += . INCLUDEPATH += . # Input HEADERS += mainwindow.h SOURCES += main.cpp mainwindow.cpp RESOURCES += jquery.qrc

  • Error when compiling c# project in VS2012 when using Postsharp

    - by Thewads
I am currently working on a project where we were wanting to add PostSharp functionality. I have set up my Postsharp attribute as so [Serializable] public class NLogTraceAttribute : OnMethodBoundaryAspect { private readonly string _logLevel; ILogger logger; public NLogTraceAttribute(string logLevel) { _logLevel = logLevel; logger = new Logger("TraceAttribute"); } public override void OnEntry(MethodExecutionArgs args) { LogAction("Enter", args); } public override void OnExit(MethodExecutionArgs args) { LogAction("Leave", args); } private void LogAction(string action, MethodExecutionArgs args) { var argumentsInfo = args.GetArgumentsInfo(); logger.Log(_logLevel, "{0}: {1}.{2}{3}", action, args.Method.DeclaringType.Name, args.Method.Name, argumentsInfo); } } and trying to use it as [NLogTrace(NLogLevel.Debug)] However when compiling the project I am getting the following error: Error 26 Cannot serialize the aspects: Type 'NLog.Logger' in Assembly 'NLog, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=5120e14c03d0593c' is not marked as serializable.. • Parent/master project in git

    - by jriff
I have a project "A" that is a Git repository. I would like to be able to make multiple copies of project A (B and C), and modify them for clients. "A" is the master so sometimes when I do new functionality i would like to be able to pull them into B or C. But some commits should just stay in A and only be used if making a new clone. How do I do that with Git? That is: how to copy A? (Clone?) how to get specific commits into B and C? Please keep in mind that this all happening locally - not on GitHub. I use OS X.

  • Access to path denied when saving an image with ASP.NET 4.0 project

    - by user161276
I have an existing application that was written in .NET 3.5. The piece of code in question is using the FileUpload control and its SaveAs method. Its worked perfectly for the past six months, but I've recently upgraded the project to .NET 4.0 and I'm now receiving an "Access to path (...) is denied" every time the method is called. It works fine locally in dev mode but fails on my prod server. I've upgraded the website to run under .NET 4.0 and I've made sure the account (Network Service) it runs under in the app pool has full control. Other than upgrading to .NET 4.0, nothing has changed for the project. Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks in advance.

  • Using @NotNull in a project where both IntelliJ and Eclipse developers are working

    - by Gugussee
A co-worker on IntelliJ IDEA (working on another project) showed me the amazing @NotNull annotation. I've read messages here on SO about how starting to add @NotNull everywhere saved lots of time and headaches (and IntelliJ 10 can even add automatically @NotNull to old code when it detects that null would break havoc). Since I read my first "Probable @NotNull violation" message (in real-time, in the IDE, even on a partial .java file that doesn't compile yet) my jaw dropped and I got hooked. So I was wondering: is there anything that needs to be known if we want to start using @NotNull in a project where developers are using both Eclipse and IntelliJ? I know IntelliJ ships with the annotations.jar. Is this compatible with Eclipse?

  • Interesting C projects that upgraded your skill level.

    - by JDQ
I've been (thus far) unable to write a project in C that would be meaningful on any level. For a first project, I've thought of many, but done none. What was the project that changed your skill-level from noob to "coder" the most? Maybe I can take some tips and work on something similar? I was thinking of a toy language, but well, I wouldn't know how to go about that. This might be closed, but oh well :)

  • Calling app_code folder from web application project

    - by Fred
I am developing a module for DotNetNuke and have used a DotNetNuke Compiled Module template to create the module in the DesktopModule folder. I then get a Web Application Project under the DNN website in my Visual Studio 2008. Now I want to use DAL and BLL which are created in DNN app_code folder. But when I add them in code behind it can't find them. How do I tell my Web Application Project to access the app_code folder in the website "projcet"? Thanks in advance!

  • How to paste transparent image into flash project

    - by Andy
Hi, I've created a short text (a word) in photoshop with the blending options I prefer and now it's all done I would like to paste it into my flash project. The problem is I can't get the text to be transparent in the flash, I always see the white background which is not very nice since the background on which the text will show is actually a picture. How to make this text transparent? In photoshop I started a new transparent project. Copying from a .GIF file also doesn't work... Thanks!!

  • Documenting and defining content types for a CMS or similar project

    - by Rimian
I'm writing up some documentation on a Drupal project and my task is to define the content types and their attributes. The intended audience is project managers and developers. So it could be a high level document that gives an overview of the system. (I think that's how I describe it: high level rather than high detail) At the moment I'm using open office and bullet points but it seems like an amateurish method when I need to describe details that could be useful for a developer (me). Something like UML would describe detail but is probably more complicated than I need right now and could be too technical for others on the team. Are there any universal methods or templates that I can use to describe information in this case?

  • Expression Blend 3 (Silverlight) gives me nothing on project compile

    - by Buginator
When I press F5 the project compiles, and the new web page launches. However, the silverlight control loads (the standard load counter counts to 100%) but then the whole control just disappear. Only the left default menu bar (feedback etc) is visible. It's a very small project, my first actually. This also happened earlier today, but then I removed each thing one at a time and found that it was some radio buttons that caused it. I deleted them and remade them and it ran fine again. Now the same thing happened again, but it is something else, not sure yet. The question is; is this a familiar bug or am I just doing something wrong? My code-behind consist mostly of visibility changes, around 20 lines of code.

  • Django nose to run only project tests

    - by patroqueeet
I added nose, django-nose, nose-exclude, coverage to my buildout.cfg and ran buildout. Furthermore I added the TEST_RUNNER and the NOSE_ARGS to my settings.py. In the last step I created a exclude_dirs.txt and included it into the NOSE_ARGS. That worked so far. Finally I ran bin/django testto run the tests of my project. I found out that every app inside INSTALLED_APP is run and that even parts of the django core models are run. How can I limit this to my project only without exernal packages?

  • Easier way to move a project in Eclipse

    - by myplacedk
My projects changes location, and I need to tell Eclipse this. Today I just delete the project and import it from the new location. But I have a lot of projects, they change location often and the paths a very complicated. I'd like a better way to manage this in Eclipse. For example: J:\iteration234_abc\foo\bar\baz\iffle\dizzle\Project Only the root-folder changes (iteration-number and the idenfier "abc"). After that there are lot of folders. Many folders has tons of subfolders with similar names, which makes finding the folder with GUI time-consuming and very boring. It would be so nice if I could just edit the path. As you may have guessed: The J-drive is a network drive, provided by the source control system. The way to tell source control that I'm working on another itertion, is to continue my work in a different folder. My actual Eclipse workspace normally doesn't contain any projects.

  • Binding hudson build number in C# project

    - by Sukan
Hi, Is there a way to bind the hudson successful build's number in the C# WPF application? Meaning, on running the exe after building I want to show the build number say 10 in my application somewhere. In project configuration file, I have used ${BUILD_NUMBER}, that a hudson understands and creates a build with the revision number. If I build the Project revision # 10, I get 10.exe. Can I have something that will show this number somewhere in my application? Hope I am clear. Please help.

  • An interesting project to implement to learn Antlr

    - by ajay
Hi, I am learning Antlr from the book 'The Definitive Antlr reference'. I am still in the beginning stages. I like to do hands on stuff, so I was thinking it would be a great learning experience to do a good sample project. I am looking for a decently sized project, not too big. But just big and complicated enough to help me learn Antlr well. Your inputs will be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

  • XAML resources aren't loaded when calling from different project

    - by svick
    I have a WPF project with some styles in XAML in Application.Resources. This works perfectly fine. But when I open a window from this project from another one (this one is a console application), the resources from XAML aren't loaded. When I first tried it, I got a XamlParseException on StaticResource calls in XAML, so I changed it to DynamicResource and now the style just doesn't get loaded. How do I fix this? The code I use: [STAThread] static void Main() { App app = new App(); MyWindow wnd = new MyWindow (); wnd.Show(); app.Run(); }

  • Have visual studio copy x64 DLL or x86 DLL when building a C# project

    - by MrPurpleStreak
We're building a C# app that uses an external DLL for Sqlite.NET. This is a .NET dll but it embeds a C dll inside it and so it comes in x86 and x64 flavours. We add a reference to the x86 version in the project so when we build and run on x86 it's fine. Visual studio copies the dll to the bin folder and runs. On x64 it still copies the x86 version of course and then when it runs it fails to load it. We get round this by temporarily setting our project to be x86 only, but ideally we'd like to tell visual studio to copy the correct version depending on which flavour of machine it is. Any ideas how?

  • How to deploy a Scala project from Eclipse?

    - by lach
I have a Scala project in Eclipse that I need to package up so I can deploy it to a server. It's based on Jetty but it runs as a standalone application. It contains Scala classes, Java classes and a number of 3rd party jars. I assumed there would be some kind of deployment option in the Scala Eclipse plugin but I've drawn a blank. What is the simplest way to package the Scala project into a runnable file so it can be deployed? Any help greatly appreciated. Cheers.

  • How to get image from relative URL in C#, the image cannot be in the project

    - by red-X
I have a project where I'm loading relative image Uri's from an xml file. I'm loading the image like this: if (child.Name == "photo" && child.Attributes["href"] != null && File.Exists(child.Attributes["href"].Value)) { Image image = new Image(); image.Source = new BitmapImage(new Uri(child.Attributes["href"].Value, UriKind.RelativeOrAbsolute)); images.Add(image); } Where the "child" object is an XmlNode which could looks like this <photo name="info" href="Resources\Content\test.png"/> During debug it seemd images is filled with actual images but when I want to see them in any way it shows nothing. Weird thing is when I include the images in my project it does work, I however dont want to do that since my point for using an xml file is so that it would be lost since you'd have to rebuild the program anyway after a change.

  • Maven project dependecy against JDK version

    - by Andrea Polci
I have projects that need to be build with a specific version of the JDK. The problem isn't in the source and target parameters but in the jars of the runtime used during compilation. In some cases I get a compilation error if I try to compile with the wrong JDK, but sometimes the build is successful and I get runtime errors when using the jars. For example in eclipse I have the ability to establish the execution enviroment for the project in the .classpath file. Is there a way to handle such situation in maven? What I would like to have is the ability to handle JRE dependency like other dependencies of the project in the POM file.
