  • Implementing prompts in text-input

    Hi, I have a form with some text-inputs: login, password. If user sees this form the first time, input-texts should "contain" prompts, like "enter login", "enter password". If user clicks text-input, it's prompt should disappear to allow typing. I have seen various examples, that uses background image with prerendered text on it. Those images are appearing with following jQuery: $("form > :text").focus(function(){ // hide image }).blur(function(){ // show image, if text-input is still empty if ( $(this).val() == "" ) // show image with prompt }); This approach has following problems: localization is impossible need to pre-render images for various textual prompts overhead with loading images How do you overcomes such a problems ?

    I have the following: <div id="abc"> </div> Inside that div there can be one only of the following: <p class="message"> <p class="message error"></p> <p class="message warning"></p> <p class="message success"></p> <p class="message loading"></p> Is there a way that I can find and remove only the class from the <p> element that's NOT "message". I realize I could remove everything and then add what I need with .removeClass() but this won't work for me as after I previously added the message class I did some CSS changes and these will be lost if I remove all and then add again the message class.

  • (Python) Extracting Text from Source Code?

    Currently have a large webpage whose source code is ~200,000 lines of almost all (if not all) HTML. More specifically, it is a webpage whose content is a few thousand blocks of paragraphs separated by line breaks (though a line break does not specifically mean there is a separation in content) My main objective is to extract text from the source code as if I were copying/pasting the webpage into a text editor. There is another parsing function I would like to use, which originally took in copied/pasted text rather than the source code. To do this, I'm currently using urllib2, and calling .get_text() in Beautiful Soup. The problem is, Beautiful Soup is leaving tremendous amounts of white space in my code, and it is difficult to pass the result into the second "text" parser. I have done quite a bit of research on parsing HTMLs, but I'm frankly not sure how to solve this problem easily. Furthermore, I'm a bit confused on how to use imports like lxml to extract text as if I were to simply copy and paste?

    There seems to be a lack of good information around this particular Google Apps error code. Has anyone found common environmental information that causes this error? Any kind of solution? Uninstalling/re-installing Google Sync doesn't seem to do anything, I've run Outlook's executable that scans/fixes the PST file etc. Task 'Google Apps - ::user email address:: - Sending' reported error (0x8004010B) : 'Unknown Error 0x8004010B' I found a listing of error codes for the Gdata API but nothing for these types of 'unknown' error codes. Does Google have available a list of common 'unknown' error codes/messages? Thanks in advance.

    I have installed the RTnet over Xenomai. RTnet compiled well, and I also tested loopback on the single machine and was able to ping. The first time this happened, Linux's Magic SysRq worked and did a soft reboot, and after that everything was fine till it went to sleep again. It wakes up and gives me this. Here are the laptop stats: Toshiba Satellite L455D-S5976 AMD Sempron SI-42 Processor 2GB DDR2 RAM HD TruBrite Display ATI Radeon Graphics (integrated) Running Ubuntu 10.10 32 bit I'm not sure about the hard drive, but its a 250GB drive with one NTFS partition, two Hidden NTFS, one Linux Swap, and one Ext4. Can someone tell me whats wrong with my laptop? NOTE: This only happens when I close the screen. My computer doesn't go to sleep with the screen open.

    Trying to avoid SPOFs for Resque and Redis. Ultimately the client is going to be PHP via (https://github.com/chrisboulton/php-resque). After going through and finding some workable HA for nginx+php-fpm and MySQL (mysql master-master setup as a way to simply master-slave promotion), next up is Resque+Redis. Standard install of Resque uses localhost Redis (at DigitalOcean). I am heavily depending on Amazon Route 53 DNS failover to try to solve this. resque1.domain.com points to localhost redis (redis1.domain.com) = same server resque2.domain.com points to localhost redis (redis2.domain.com) = same server Do resque.domain.com with FAILOVER resque1 as primary and resque2 as secondary. What this means is that most of the time (99%), resque1 should be getting hit with resque2 as just a hot backup. This lets me just have to get 2 servers and makes sure that any hits to resque.domain.com goes somewhere The other way to do this is to break out resque and redis into 4 servers and do it as follows resque1.domain.com - redis.domain.com resque2.domain.com - redis.domain.com redis1.domain.com redis2.domain.com Then setup DNS Failover resque.domain.com - primary: resque1 and secondary: resque2 redis.domain.com - primary: redis1 and secondary: redis2 I'd like to get away for 2 servers if I can but is this 2nd setup much better or negligible? However all good wikis seem to require a web-server of some kind; has anyone come across a good desktop wiki editor/viewer that work with plain-text files, and allow me to work with wiki text files just like any other document file type (note: not a desktop wiki running inside a local webserver) Before you rush to suggest (I hope!) I have done months of research on this and have tried Wixi, Wikidpad, zulupad.... Any ideas anyone?

  • What causes "A disk read error occurred, Press Ctrl + Alt + Del to restart"?

    I have a virtual machine containing Windows XP SP3. When I resized the VHD file (and the embedded partition), and tried booting, I got: A disk read error occurred Press Ctrl + Alt + Del to restart Some notes: FixBoot and FixMBR don't help. ChkDsk doesn't help. The partition is indeed active. The partition starts at sector 63 (it also did so before the problem) of cylinder 1, head 1, and is marked as type 0x07 (NTFS) My host OS reads the VHD and the partition completely fine I'm interested in knowing the cause rather than the fix. So "re-format the disk", "reinstall Windows", etc. aren't valid solutions. It's a virtual machine after all... I have nothing to lose, so I don't care about fixing it. I just want to know what's causing this problem, in case I run into it again on a physical machine (which I have done before). When this issue comes, then I can't ping my printer or I can't achive the webpage of the printer.   • IIS is overriding my response content, if i manually set the Response.StatusCode

    Hi Folks, Problem when i manually set the HTTP Status of my Response stream to .. say 404 or 503, IIS renders up the stock IIS content/view, instead of my custom view. When I do this with the Web Development Server (aka. Casinni), it works correctly (ie. my content is displayed and the response.statuscode == my entered data. Is there anyway I can override this behaviour?   • webmin bind issue- error when i try to start bind

    I am setting up a domain = mydomain.com with 2 nameservers ns1.mydomain.com and ns2.mydomain.com in Webmin - BIND. For this, I have registered 2 child nameservers at my domain registrar, and in Webmin-Bind I have set up a new zone for this domain. In this zone, i have specified 2 nameserver records- one each for ns1 and ns2. Also, I have defined 2 address records- one each for ns1.mydomain.com -> IP Address #1 and for ns2.mydomain.com -> IP Address #2 However when I try to start BIND in Webmin, I get the following error-- Failed to start BIND : Starting named: Error in named configuration: zone mydomain.com/IN: has no NS records zone mydomain.com/IN: not loaded due to errors. _default/mydomain.com/IN: bad zone [FAILED]

    I have MSMQ installed on two Windows XP computers. Can I configure them to pass messages back and forth, or do I need an MSMQ server in the middle? If I need an MSMQ server, does the normal MSMQ with Win2003 able to act as that? And then, how do I connect my Windows XP to that Windows 2003 server? Is it a) On screen admin dialog in the MSMQ plug-in to MMC, b) a config file, c) Active Directory, d) something else? Thanks, Neal Walters

  • Windows 7 64bits installation via USB asks for drivers

    I just bought a new config ( ASUS p8z68-v lx, i5-2500k + ram and new graphic card ). Coming back and installing it in my old computer, I just saw that my DVD player was on IDE (yup…). So, I needed to install windows 7 64bits from my usb key. Fine, I made my usb key bootable and copy the official DVD on it (the same version that was on my old computer), set BIOS to boot on it first and started the computer up. It worked fine until it asks me for cd/dvd drivers (which is funny since, I do it via USB because I can't plug in my DVD player :D) I have 3 SATA HDD plugged in and that's it. I made a small google search and found that it could be SATA or RAID drivers. Fine, I took another USB KEY and put all my motherboard drivers on it (from the CD sold with the MB) and none of those drivers seemed to work. I tried downloading new drivers from ASUS website and same effect. Any idea but no "buy a new DVD player", I'm now broke for the month :) ?

    I'm developing a Rails app which when I run it locally, it's able to send emails through a gmail account via smtp. When I moved it to my sever (running Nginx), it comes up with the following error for example when I try to create a new user. Net::SMTPAuthenticationError in UsersController#create 535-5.7.1 Username and Password not accepted. The nginx.conf file remains the same from when I set it up.
